Dude, duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude! Does anyone even remember me? Sorry for the very long hiatus, but Iâm dipping my toes back into fanfic writing. Hopefully Iâm not too rusty. What better way to come back with trying out an original story, thatâs right this bad boy is coming from my head.
You can all thank @justsomerandomfanfic for waking me up. Seriously, thank you so much for liking my writing. It means the world (I thought my writing was pretty bad not gonna lie haha) but I am so glad I can make someoneâs day with it! Apologies in advance. Please let me know if I should add any specific warnings! Hearts, reblogs, and comments are lovely!
I am going to try and attempt a GN reader x Eggsy (please let me know if I need to fix anything)
Eggsy x GN Reader
Word Count: A little over 1k
Warnings: Implied fighting and not so great friends (itâs not too bad tho)
It was supposed to be just a chill night out with some friends at a rather less crowded bar. Yeah it was anything but that. Once the words âManners, maketh, man.â were thrown into the mix and all bets were off the table. Various objects like tables, chairs, and umbrellas went flying as their eyes scanned to find various things.
1. Find a safe exit (The front doors had been barricaded shut, but thereâs got to be an emergency exit somewhere in this dump).
2. Stick with the people you know.
3. Get out.
After a few close attempts the group decided to book it for an exit that was in the back of the little kitchen in the bar. The friends left in a hurry not giving their final remaining friend a clear plan.
âThanks guys! Thanks for not TELLING ME THE PLAN!â The tone was in the midst of transitioning from rather annoyed to fearing for their life. But rather than hearing screams and carious grunts the room was eerily silent. Itâs at this moment that they realized someone just saw their outburst. Turning to face the one man army they noticed the umbrella that had been previously used to take out at least half of the patrons in the bar who are currently laying on the ground. âPut the umbrella down.â The rather well dressed man slowly followed orders as he gently placed his Kingsman umbrella onto the floor. âNow, unlock the doors.â With some loud clicking the entrance was now unlocked. âOk Iâm going to leave.â It was an agonizingly slow exit as they never turned their back on the stranger.
âSorry I ruined your night out.â Once his accent came out their heart dropped just the tiniest bit, it didnât help that he sheepishly scratched the back of his neck exposing a rather good physique in the muscles of his arms.
âNo, do not try to play the cute guy card with me.â Their hands pressed onto their hips as the shortness of breath from the entire situation finally caught up. A strained sigh came over as the lights reflecting off the rainy pavements were not helping.
âThe cute card?â His hands fixed his suit as he finally exited the bar smoothly opening the umbrella right over both of their heads. âIâd rather say Iâm just charming in general.â His wink was met with a side eye. âAlright I kind of get the sense that maybe I did something wrong.â
âHmmmm Iâm not sure let me go ask someone in the bar if they know,â It was the fake walk back to the bar that made him chuckle. âOh yeah thatâs right, theyâre all passed out!â
âWould it make you feel better if I said I was Batman or something?â
âBatman doesnât fight crime dressed like Bruce Wayne.â
âBatman isnât Bruce Wayne.â The seriousness in his voice just made the joke even better. Their eyes rolled with a smile as a well deserved slug was met on his shoulder. âLetâs start over,â He offered his hand for a shake. âEggsy.â
âEggsy?â The bridge of their nose scrunched up in thought. âI havenât been in the UK that long but I will admit thatâs the most unique name Iâve come across so far.â
âWell my real name is Gary but I go by Eggsy!â His face was beaming as he explained the story of his nickname. On the other hand the poor bystander was just wanting to go home.
âYeah thatâs really cool and all but I kind of need to get home.â It was their polite yet desperate grimace and the shuffling of feet that made Eggsy connect the dots. Maybe donât go straight for someone youâre interested in right after making them think they were your next victim. The string of muttered curses that left his lips made it hard to not fall deeper into the surprisingly chill and trendy guy. âY/N, forgot to tell you. Thatâs my name.â Finally learning the mystery personâs name gave Eggsy a little faith that he wasnât a complete failure with charming someone.
âThat has to be the weirdest name Iâve ever heard.â
âOh shut up!â In what would be the weirdest of situations the two found light at the end of the tunnel, a blossoming friendship that Eggsy only dreamed would turn into something else only with time. âNo but seriously I have work at 7AM, I need sleep.â
âDo you need a ride?â A part of Eggsy was holding onto hope that the offer would be accepted but he knew the chances were slim.
âAs much fun as that sounds, I drove here.â Y/N held up their keys as they pressed the lock button a couple of times causing the car to beep back. âThanks for the offer.â The night was cold as they rubbed their hands together. âI hope to never see you pissed off at a bar ever again.â A cheesy smile was plastered on their face as Eggsyâs face flushed slightly but due to the cold weather he was able to hide it.
âYeah hopefully next time we meet, it isnât like this.â Y/Nâs head turned towards him as they laughed a bit.
âWhat do you want my number or something?â The laugh died fairly quickly as they noticed the look on his face.
âI mean, I wouldnât be opposed.â He gently kicked a nearby rock. After a quick number exchange the two finally went their separate ways. Y/N noticed the number scribbled on the back of some business card as they slipped it over for further inspection.
âKingsman?â Some store they had never heard of as they just got in their car and headed back to their apartment. Opening the door their roommate came barreling through giving them a hug.
âOh my gosh, I was so worried when we lost you at the bar!â Y/Nâs shoulders slumped into the hug.
âYeah you guys were real worried alright.â The tone and sentiment were definitely called for especially since nobody even reached out to help. Not wanting to give it the light of day Y/N just went to their own little room and locked the door. That whole friends thing was for another day, but not now.
The next morning was uneventful as their shift went by with nothing really special happening. Not a bad day, not a good day, just a day. But hey at least the customerâs werenât the absolute worst today.
âCan I clock out?â The manager slightly jumped in her seat not noticing their hire, engrossed in their emails.
âOh yeah, thanks for your help.â And with the okay to leave it was a race to find somewhere to get food. With food on the brain, they almost passed something until a shiny golden logo caught their eye. It was the Kingsman store, Y/N took a peek through the window to see what exactly was being sold there but was met with Eggsy who sat across from another man dressed up just like him.
âNo way.â

RHW: Chapter Ten
Story Page / Playlist / Wattpad / AO3
PLEASE READ: I don't quite have the words to describe how I feel right now. After 14 months of planning, writing, editing, reading, and editing some more, Right Here, Waiting is finished. Other than the epilogue, which comes out next weekend, the story of Liliana and Taron has come to a close. I have had the best time with this story and I love that you have all loved it the way I have.
And I just want to throw an extra special thank you to the one and only @brayndilyn. Not only has she become a close friend this past year, she has also held me up at times when she didn't know I needed it. Without her and her dedication to this story, it wouldn't be half as good as what it is. She gave me knowledge on New York, and she's been the smut queen for me.
Word Count: 7.8k
Warnings: Smut, explicit language
May 20th, 2022
It was early evening by the time they drove into Fort William. Both Liliana and Taron were exhausted and wanted nothing more than to curl up in bed and sleep until the following day. They had been on the road for almost twelve hours, and they hadnât slept much the night before.Â
After spending so much time thinking about things that they could potentially do on their weekend excursion, it was nice that they were finally close enough to rest and spend a couple of days together just the two of them. They had nothing else to worry about except one another.
Taron had intended to surprise Liliana with the trip at the beginning of the month, but with conflicting work schedules and commitments that they couldnât get out of, they werenât both free at the same time until a couple of weeks later. He had planned for them to celebrate six months since they first reunited at the book launch.Â
He also wanted to celebrate Liliana and her having handed in the first chapter of her second book. She had worked tirelessly to come up with a new concept, and had spent more time in meetings and at coffee shops writing than she had anything else. Taron wanted her to have a couple of days to relax and not have to think about anything. Â
When heâd come up with the idea to surprise her with their first trip away as a couple, Taron had talked to his mum constantly trying to think of places to go for the weekend. It wasnât until Liliana had suggested they head up to Edinburgh for the Christmas Markets that Taron thought of the Scottish Highlands.Â
Liliana had spent some of the most pivotal years of her life in Scotland, but had never managed to take a trip to the Highlands like sheâd always wanted to. She had mentioned to Taron that it was a place she would love to visit, so Taron knew that heâd found the perfect getaway for them.Â
It also gave him the perfect excuse to introduce her to one of his favourite pastimes, weekends in the campervan where they could stop wherever they wanted to take in the views or have a break.Â
He hadnât wanted to tell Liliana about the trip until the day before they left, but when heâd left a tab open on his laptop on the one day that Liliana got home from work early and saw it a week before the trip, he had to tell her. Liliana couldnât have been more excited if she tried.Â
For days she researched things that they could do, and the best places to eat. They were only going to be in Scotland for three days but she wanted them to have options and to know where things were so that they didnât have to spend much of their time looking for places to eat.Â
The closer the trip got, the more Lilianaâs excitement grew. She kept looking at photos of places where they could park the campervan and she would show Taron each of them. When she wasnât looking at photos, she was looking up the best service stations that they could go to on the drive for bathroom breaks and to buy more snacks to get them through.Â
On the morning that they left, Taron made sure that they had enough fuel to get them a decent way up the country and made all of the necessary checks to the campervan so that they knew they would be safe, and Liliana made them both a flask of coffee to help them stay awake on the journey.Â
They left the flat at six thirty that morning but didnât pull into the Morrisons car park in Fort William until almost six in the evening. Taron had hoped to get there a couple of hours earlier, but on their lunch stop, they ate and then decided to have a quick nap to refresh themselves for the afternoon stint of driving.Â
The nap wasnât enough to stop them from being exhausted when they got to Scotland. Liliana couldnât imagine how much more tired Taron was than her, as heâd been the sole driver. Many of the stops had been so that he could stretch his legs and gain feeling in his bum that had gone numb multiple times.Â
A little while before they got to Fort William, Liliana had compiled a list in her phone of things that they should buy to put them on for the weekend. Taron let her take charge in the shop, following her around as she put food in the trolley.Â
âSo weâre only getting stuff for breakfast and lunch?â Liliana asked as they got to the sausages.Â
âYeah,â Taron nodded. âI was thinking we could grab pizza on the way to our first stop tonight, and then tomorrow we could go to a pub or something. Then Sunday weâll be on the way back so weâll be getting food on the road.âÂ
âFair enough. Do you have a gas cooker or something in the van?âÂ
âYep. But the pans in the van are quite small.âÂ
âThatâs fine.â Liliana grabbed a pack of sausages from the fridge and started to head towards the bread section. âSausage sandwiches for breakfast tomorrow? We could use the leftover sausages to make that hash that I cook and you love?âÂ
Taronâs eyes lit up and he nodded dramatically. âWe could have that for breakfast on Sunday before we set off home? That way weâve got something hearty in us. Thereâs some spices and stuff already in the cupboard too.âÂ
âThat sounds like a plan. I just need some tinned potatoes and a tin of beans then and thatâs breakfast sorted.âÂ
They continued around the shop getting bits that they would need, and a few extras that they could enjoy. Liliana grabbed some marshmallows and digestive biscuits. Having not had Sâmores in years, she felt it only fitting that they have them at least once while they were away.Â
While Liliana was looking at bottles of wine, Taron slyly put a bottle of Champagne in the trolley underneath the rest of the food. He knew that Liliana wouldnât pay attention to anything that happened at the tills so she wouldnât see it until he wanted her to.
Taron had already planned where they were going to stop that first night, and it was only a short drive to get there. Once they were a safe distance away from the side of the road, and in an area where it was legal to park overnight, Taron opened the back doors of the campervan so that they could eat while looking out at the River Lochy.Â
Liliana grabbed two plates from the storage box and plated their pizza. The bottom of the pizza boxes were covered in grease from the pizza and she didnât want them to stain the bed sheets.Â
As they lounged on the bed eating, they enjoyed the gentle breeze that floated across the water and into the van. A few leaves that had fallen to the ground danced around in tiny swirls before they landed on the water and drifted to waters unknown.
Liliana rested her head against Taronâs shoulder once sheâd finished her pizza, and Taron let his hand move to her knee where he squeezed it gently.Â
âThank you for this, my love,â she said softly as a leaf found its way into the campervan.Â
âYou are more than welcome, Love Bug. What do you think? Should we make a campfire tonight? Itâs still quite early and the sun will set soon so weâll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy it?
âI meant it that I wanted you to have this weekend to relax. I want us to be able to spend forty eight uninterrupted hours of us. You, me, the waters of Scotland, the campervan, sex. Lots and lots of sex.â Â
Liliana let out a laugh before she leaned up to press her lips to Taronâs. His tongue ran along her bottom lip and she granted him access, twisting so that she could climb over him and straddle his lap.Â
Taron chuckled into the kiss as his hands roamed down to grip onto Lilianaâs bum. She gasped into his mouth and he swallowed it whole, leaning forward just enough that Liliana had to wrap her arms around his neck to hold herself upright.Â
Pulling away just enough to rest her forehead against Taron, Liliana moved her hands to cup his neck softly. âA bonfire sounds good.âÂ
âAll of that and all you got out of it was that a bonfire sounds good?â Taron questioned with a guffaw that filled the camper. Liliana basked in the sound, and wished that she could listen to it on repeat for all of eternity. âReally?âÂ
âThe sex sounds alright too, I guess.â Liliana teased Taron and she knew it worked when he squeezed the flesh of her behind. âForty eight uninterrupted hours of sex with you?âÂ
Taron nodded against her before he pecked her lips three times in quick succession. âWho else would you be having sex with?âÂ
âNobody as good as you.âÂ
Fuck, Lil, where have you been hiding all this time?âÂ
Taron tensed the second the words left his mouth. Liliana tensed at the same time and pulled away from him slightly. But she remained on his lap, looking at him with an intense concentration that left Taron concerned and curious.Â
It had been a while since any conversation relating to the time where they werenât talking had been brought up. Theyâd gotten into a good routine of being able to ignore it, but Taron knew that mentioning hiding would have Liliana reeling and her feelings all over the place.Â
He looked at Liliana who looked back at him. She bit the inside of her mouth and took a deep breath before reaching a hand up to cup his cheek. Taron immediately leaned in to the touch and Liliana smiled at him a little. She had tears in her eyes and Taron wished for nothing more than to be able to reword everything.Â
âLil, Iâm so sorry.âÂ
âItâs fine,â Liliana sniffled through a tiny smile.Â
Taron shook his head firmly. âItâs not fine, Liliana. I should have thought about what I was saying more. I didnât mean it like-âÂ
âI know you didnât. Thatâs why itâs fine.â
A tear managed to escape down Lilianaâs cheek despite her best efforts to stop herself from crying. Taron wiped it away as fast as he could, and Liliana shook her head at him gently.Â
âI worried that coming to Scotland would bring up a lot of old memories for me. Thatâs why I went really crazy about looking at things that we could do and eat. I didnât want to have a moment to think back to being a teenager and everything.âÂ
âOh shit,â Taron sighed. He pulled Liliana into his arms and rocked her softly. In all of his haste to plan the perfect trip for them, he hadnât even thought about what being back in Scotland could do to Liliana and how she would feel. âI didnât even think about that. I am so sorry. Do you want to go back home?âÂ
Liliana shook her head with as much firmness as Taron had previously. She curled into him a little tighter but tilted her head up so that she could look at him. Her hand was still on his cheek and she could feel his heart beating against hers.Â
âDonât be sorry. I promise Iâm okay. Iâm a little embarrassed because Iâm emotional and trying to hold back the tears, but they arenât the kind of tears that I expected.âÂ
Taronâs eyebrows wrinkled in the middle and Liliana rubbed them away with the pad of her thumb. âHow so?âÂ
âI expected being here to make me feel like the person I was back then. I felt small and unseen. My entire world came crumbling down when I got on the train. But it wasnât my world of being at home. It wasnât because I was leaving my family behind. It was because I was leaving you behind. You were my world, and leaving you broke me.Â
âIt took a lot of therapy time to come to terms with everything I went through, as Iâve told you before. Iâm not going into that because this is our holiday and Iâm trying really hard not to be a party pooper right now.âÂ
âYou could do no such thing,â Taron whispered. He kissed the top of Lilianaâs head and her eyes fluttered closed for a short second. âI mean it, if you want to talk about everything that happened, then by all means tell me. If youâd rather not, then you donât have to.âÂ
Liliana took a moment to respond. She looked out at the river and allowed her breathing to sync up with the slow current. Everything she said here would be whisked away by the breeze and the water. The thought alone made her feel a little better.Â
âI always wondered what it would be like to have you in Edinburgh with me,â she continued after she was sure she wouldnât cry any more. âOr what it would be like if I hadnât left when I did. The past few months have been amazing and it makes me wonder if we would have admitted our feelings earlier if weâd have been together.âÂ
Taronâs chest rose and fell against Lilianaâs cheek as he looked out over the water. The sun had started to set and filled the campervan with a beautiful orange glow.Â
âI donât know,â he answered truthfully. âI was so scared to confess how I felt back then that I potentially wouldnât have said anything in pure terror that youâd have laughed in my face.âÂ
âI would never,â Liliana said quickly.Â
âI know but I wasnât much to look at back then, was I?âÂ
âYes, you were.âÂ
Taron laughed as though he didnât believe a word she was saying, and Liliana twisted again so that she could look at him face to face.
âYou were the most gorgeous boy in our year,â she told him truthfully, her hands moving to cup his cheeks. âI didnât look at any other boy but you. Nothing has changed in that respect.âÂ
She laughed to herself and leaned forward just enough to capture Taronâs lip with her own.Â
âDonât flatter me like that, Love bug.âÂ
âI wouldnât dream of it.â Liliana smiled up at him and kissed him once more before moving to straddle him again. âYou were, and continue to be, the most beautiful man Iâve ever known. And itâs not just your looks, because you are stunning beyond belief, itâs how whenever weâre in a room full of people, youâre always already looking at me when I glance at you.âÂ
âItâs the way you send me songs when they remind you of me. Itâs the way that you pull me into a dance whenever thereâs music playing and weâre out, or when weâre at home. Itâs the fact that youâre my best friend.Â
âItâs you driving me around on a night time when Iâve had a shit day and just need to cry. Itâs the way you caught me when I fell. The way you kiss me like your life depends on it.Â
âItâs you buying books I love and reading them just so that you can talk to me about them. I know you didnât think I knew, but I knew, and I love it. But most of all, itâs the fact that I know youâre here to stay. After everything weâve been through, I know that youâre not going to let go of me just as much as Iâm not going to run away again.Â
âThereâs no genuine evidence for thinking that. Because we donât know whatâs going to happen. We donât know whatâs going to happen two days from now, or two years. But I believe it anyway. I love you.âÂ
Taron blinked back the tears that had filled his eyes. Liliana cupped his cheeks and wiped the ones that fell away as she leaned forward to kiss his lips. Taron sniffled quietly while he held Liliana impossibly close to his body.Â
Her heart beat hard against his chest, and his eyes fluttered softly down at her. She looked at him with big eyes as she continued to wipe away his tears.Â
âIâm sorry,â she mumbled against his ear. âI didnât mean to make you cry.âÂ
âTheyâre not sad tears.â Taron sniffled again and moved Liliana so he could kiss her again.Â
Her lips were soft against his and she granted him immediate access when he traced her lower lip with his tongue. Liliana ran her hands through the hair at the nape of Taronâs neck, and he roamed his hands down the length of her back until he cupped her bum again.Â
Liliana moaned into his mouth and he chuckled softly, pulling her hips tightly over his. The response in his dick was almost instant, and Liliana ground against him on her own to try and get Taron to make the moans that had her weak at the knees.Â
âI can tell what youâre doing,â he mumbled against her lips when he pulled away for breath.Â
âI am merely loving on my boyfriend,â Liliana smirked, grinding her hips once more. Taron held her hips tightly to still her movements so that he could lean her backwards to lay on the bed. âI can tell what youâre doing, mister.âÂ
âMe? I am merely loving on my girlfriend.âÂ
Liliana raised her eyebrows at Taron who simply winked at her before leaning to capture her lips once more. He was hard against Lilianaâs core and she moaned into him when he moved their hips together. Taron loved the sounds that left her, and wished for nothing more than to be the one to make her moan that way for the rest of her life.Â
âLove on me all you want, T.âÂ
âWell if you insist.âÂ
Liliana hadnât realised just how small the campervan was until they attempted to undress one another in the space. Taronâs head hit the roof multiple times, and Liliana almost knocked over everything on the one shelf as she lifted her arms when Taron removed her top.Â
In the end they decided against trying to be sensual and to just undress themselves to save from anymore injuries. They both laid on the bed and shimmied their bottoms and underwear off at the same time which made them both giggle like school kids.Â
When they were naked, Taron tucked a piece of hair behind Lilianaâs ear and let his fingers drift down her neck and to her collarbone where he leaned down to kiss. Lilianaâs eyes closed shut and her hands found their way to Taronâs hair. She tugged it softly and Taron groaned delicately onto her skin.Â
His lips planted kisses down her chest until he got to her breast. He let his tongue run around Lilianaâs nipple before he sucked it into his mouth. Liliana moaned loudly and tugged his hair tighter.Â
âThat feels so good,â she whimpered when he took her other breast in his hand and pinched her nipple. âI need you, Taron.âÂ
âPatience, Love Bug. I want to take my time with you today. I havenât had the chance to do that recently, and you deserve all of the love and care I can give you.âÂ
Liliana peered down at him and protruded her lips into a small pout. Taron, used to her always begging for the end, was not deterred by her action. Â
âNot yet, sweet girl. Like I said, we have forty-eight uninterrupted hours of just us, and I am going to savour every single one of them.âÂ
Taron continued his tour of Lilianaâs body, kissing all of his favourite parts of her. Because that was all of her, it was a long, drawn out expedition that had Liliana moaning next to him. Taron loved every second of the journey, and he loved it more and more each day.Â
By the time he got to the tops of her thighs, he was laid between her thighs and Liliana squirmed above him, but he took extra time licking and kissing her skin on his way to her centre. Though he never kissed exactly where she needed him to.Â
He used one free hand to steady her squirming underneath him and the other to rub small, delicate circles into the thigh he wasnât kissing and nipping.Â
âTaron, please. I need you, baby.â Liliana begged Taron as the inferno grew hotter between her legs. She was desperate to feel the fullness of Taron inside her. It was her favourite feeling.Â
âI havenât quite finished my worship of you. Now, if you please, stop squirming and let me continue this or I promise, it will take a lot longer than youâd like. I could do this all day.â Taron looked up from between her thighs and grinned as though he were the devil. It was a sweet smile laced with desire and passion.Â
âYou are such a tease, Egerton,â Liliana whimpered above him. Her hands had found their way to his hair and she massaged his scalp, smirking to herself when he struggled to keep his eyes open. âBut just know the next time I get my hands on you, you are getting the same treatment.âÂ
She huffed in playful frustration before she pushed herself back into the covers to begrudgingly admit defeat. Taron only smirked at her with a wink so small it was almost unnoticeable.Â
âOh, baby girl, I very much look forward to it.âÂ
With Liliana still above him, Taron continued to kiss down her leg until he got to her ankle. The hand that had held her stomach trailed down her leg until he could squeeze her foot lovingly. Liliana sighed above him before tilting her head to look at him.Â
Taron looked up at her through thick eyelashes and the sight was enough for Liliana to need to press her legs together to get some friction. But Taron stopped her, using his hand to anchor her legs apart.Â
âI donât think so. Youâre going to be a good girl and let me do this, or you donât get to cum until I say you can.âÂ
Liliana gulped as her eyes widened slightly. Her heart beat ten times faster in her chest as she looked at Taron. He watched her for a minute before he started to kiss back up her leg where he settled himself comfortably between them both.Â
He held onto her thigh as he leaned down to press a kiss to her entrance. His nose brushed against her clit and Lilianaâs legs jerked under him. Lilianaâs hands gripped the covers by her side. The sensation sent her into overdrive and all the pent up emotion and teasing pushed her close to her release.Â
Taron let his tongue run from her entrance to her clit where he licked and sucked at a pace that he thought would tease Liliana. But along with everything else she felt that night, it brought her orgasm on faster than she had been expecting.Â
Liliana moaned above Taron and her hips lifted away from the mattress and into Taronâs face more. Taron grabbed onto her bum and held her in place as he continued to kiss and suck her core to help her ride the waves of her orgasm.Â
He watched her chest rise and fall rapidly as she came down from the high, and he let his thumbs massage the sides of her thighs to help calm her down.Â
When Liliana had come back down to earth finally, Taron moved himself up her body so that he could kiss her. Liliana tasted herself on his lips and her eyes fell closed. It was such an intimately erotic action and she couldnât get enough.Â
All of the teasing had affected Taron as well, and he was harder than he thought possible. Heâd started to leak pre-cum and was getting increasingly uncomfortable the longer he waited to do the one thing he wanted to. His patience had worn thin and as he looked at Liliana, the desire was bright in his eyes.Â
âIâm not quite finished with you yet, Love Bug. Ready for another? Maybe two?âÂ
Liliana nodded through a dazed look. âAlways ready for you, my love.âÂ
Taron lined himself up with Lilianaâs entrance and let out a deep groan at the feeling that shot through his body. Liliana gripped the back of his neck and pulled him down to kiss her again. He obliged and let his lips linger as he entered her. He pushed up into her so hard that the bed shifted and Liliana knocked her head on the metal wall that separated them from the cab.Â
Liliana rubbed her head to ease the pain that formed while she let out a strained laugh. Taronâs eyes widened and he stilled inside her while he pulled his lips into his mouth. He tried to hold back a laugh while he placed his hand on top of Lilianaâs.Â
âAre you okay?âÂ
Liliana slapped Taronâs chest playfully. âYou need to be more careful. Thereâs less room here than at home.âÂ
âYouâre the one that jumped me in this tiny van.â
Lilianaâs eyes widened and her mouth dropped open in shock. âPiss off. You know that youâre the one who started this.âÂ
âTouchĂŠ,â Taron laughed softly, leaning down to kiss Liliana once, twice, three times. âAre you sure youâre okay?âÂ
Liliana nodded. âYeah. Please move, youâre killing me here.âÂ
Taron pulled out of her until only the tip of his dick teased her entrance.Â
âT, what are you doing? Stop teasing me and get on with it already,â Liliana whimpered. She was so riled up from one orgasm already that having the full feeling of Taron buried inside her being snatched away so quickly made her need for him even stronger. She clawed at his back to hold him close. âPlease.âÂ
Taron leaned in close to her ear, grabbed a fistful of her hair and tugged it slightly while growling, âI told you before, be a good girl for meâŚor I wonât let you cum until I say so.âÂ
Liliana had seen Taron take control with her before and she loved it, but he had never been so dominant. She didnât think it was possible considering how sweet he was, but it was making her even more soaked. No matter how much she tried to squeeze her legs around Taron, he used his hips to keep them apart.Â
His eyes were a deeper shade of green when he pulled away from Lilianaâs ear, and she looked at him with a shaky breath. âIâll be good, T, please let me cum.âÂ
âWe shall see,â Taron said as he cocked an eyebrow and slammed back into her at the same time.Â
To keep her in place, Taron grabbed both of her wrists and pinned them to the pillow next to her head while he thrust in and out of her. Not having control of her hands normally would have made Liliana uncomfortable, but with Taron she felt safe and it turned her on more than she cared to admit.Â
âFuck, Taron, that feels so good,â she moaned loudly. Taron kept his pace but thrust into her so hard that she could feel him in her stomach.
Taron moved his hands from her wrists and intertwined their fingers instead, kissing her with a ferocity that caught him off guard just as much as it did Liliana. He knew that he wanted to coax at least two more orgasms out of Liliana before he reached his own climax, so he slowed his pace slightly and reigned himself in so he could last longer for her.Â
He could tell that Liliana was close to her second orgasm thanks to the constant stream of moans that Taron adored so much. Her walls clenched around him and he kept the pace as he leaned down to kiss her once.Â
âThatâs a good girl. Now, cum for me, Lil.âÂ
It was unusual for Liliana to orgasm from penetration alone, but Taronâs commands had her coming undone for a second time. This second one was stronger than the first. Their hands were still intertwined next to her head and all Liliana could do was absorb the pleasure. She let out multiple, noise defying moans with some expletives mixed in.Â
While it was unlikely with how remote the area they were in was, Taron leaned down to swallow her moans with kisses just in case someone was around and could hear them. The back doors of the campervan were still open and a chill breeze drifted in and whispered against their clammy skin, but they were so caught up in each other that they couldnât care less.Â
âThatâs my gorgeous girl.â Taron continued to thrust through Lilianaâs orgasm so that she had no time to recover. Watching her come undone underneath him made his entire body ignite in a fire he hadnât known before. âKeep going.âÂ
âI canât,â Liliana whimpered pitifully. âI canât.âÂ
âYou can,â Taron nodded. âI know youâve got it in you. You could let go at least four more times.âÂ
Liliana shook her head.Â
âYou can. I know you can. Just give me one more, baby girl. Gimme one more like the good girl you are.âÂ
Holding himself at bay through two of Lilianaâs orgasms was not an easy feat for Taron and he now became a man on a mission, keeping his thrusts at a constant pace. Liliana moved her legs up to wrap them around Taronâs waist to pull him in deeper and to keep her knees from hitting the side of the van.Â
âFeels so good, T. You make me feel so good.âÂ
âFuck, yes, Lil, you feel amazing.â Taron could feel himself getting close to his own climax and he knew that it wouldnât take long for Liliana to fall into her third orgasm of the night. He moved one of his hands down between them where they met to rub circles on her clit, knowing that it was the fastest way to get her going.Â
Liliana wrapped her arms around Taronâs neck and arched her back off the bed so that they were chest to chest. She could feel the pleasure building in her core as Taron continued to rub circles into her clit and she let herself fall into an abyss of pleasure, shouting out Taronâs name. Her orgasm squeezed Taron and his own orgasm washed over him. He emptied himself inside Liliana and rode out both of their orgasms with a few final thrusts.Â
Completely spent, they both laid there for a few moments, their breaths heavy and their skin sweaty and sticky. After a few moments, Taron very carefully flipped them over so that Liliana was laying on his chest.Â
Taron landed a playful slap on Lilianaâs bum and praised her, âGood girl, you took me so well. Told you that you could give me another.â Lilianaâs wits were still too scrambled to form a coherent thought so she just let out a few moans and mumbles while she nodded into his chest. Taron chuckled and kissed the top of her head.Â
They laid together in complete silence, just letting the soothing sounds of nature surround them. Liliana couldnât help but notice how peaceful the moment felt. By all accounts, she should have felt incredibly shy. She just had three orgasms with the doors of the campervan open, while Taron commanded her and she enjoyed it. She had never known this side of her, but instead of feeling awkward, she only felt safe and loved. This was the life she was supposed to be living and it felt calm.Â
After a few more moments of silence, Taron leaned his head up, âWhat do you say we just skip the bonfire tonight and get some sleep?âÂ
âWe were going to have a bonfire? I thought you just wanted uninterrupted sex?â Liliana looked up and winked at him as she said it. Taron chuckled softly and rubbed his hands up and down her back until Liliana drifted off to sleep in his arms.Â
When Taron was sure that Liliana was fully asleep he moved her as gracefully as possible so he could get up and shut the campervan doors and close the curtains. Once that was done, he climbed back into the bed and pulled Lilianaâs back to his chest and covered them both. She adjusted slightly and scooted her bum right up to his hips, but didnât wake up. Taron shook his head to himself and whispered, âSleep well, my loveâ before drifting off himself.Â
May 21st, 2022
Liliana woke to the sound of the rain that pelted against the roof of the campervan. She pulled the covers around her to keep out the chill that had made its way into the space despite the doors being closed and the curtains being drawn. Taron remained tucked tightly at Lilianaâs back, and his light snores mixed with the rain lulled Liliana back to sleep.Â
The rain had stopped by the time she woke up again. It was silent outside besides the rushing of water at a small stream that had formed off of the river, leading to the campervan. The silence was loud, and Liliana grabbed her phone in an effort to stop her mind from racing.Â
Sheâd taken a series of photos the previous day of the drive through Scotland and she wanted to post them to Instagram, but before she could, she saw a post that stopped her in her tracks.Â
In all of the excitement of getting to Fort William and spending time with Taron the previous day, sheâd somehow forgotten that the new Harry Styles album had dropped and sheâd missed it. For six weeks she had listened to As It Was on repeat and had done nothing but talk about her excitement for the full album.Â
It was just past seven and Liliana knew that Taron wouldnât be awake for another hour or so at least, and then the chances of him falling back to sleep were high, so she knew that she would have time to listen to the album the way sheâd wanted to, song at a time with a short break between each one to really think about it.
When she opened Spotify to listen to the album, the rain started up again and created a gentle beat against the metal roof above her. The sound of the rain and the comfort of Taron being curled up into her back made for the perfect time to listen.Â
Her earphones were in her bag and with Taronâs arms wrapped around her naked middle as tightly as they were, she knew that she wouldnât be able to get them to listen. So she turned her volume down even more on her phone before she pressed play on the first song.Â
The opening notes of the first song had her hooked immediately. It was upbeat and fun, and by the time Harry belted out âYou know I love you, babeâ, Liliana had a huge grin plastered on her face. She thought about the man who slept so peacefully behind her, with his breath tickling the back of her neck, and how much she loved him.Â
The second song took her back to the beginning of the year when they spent many a late night talking on the phone. When they werenât on a phone call, they were texting or just sending photos to one another to describe their evenings. Liliana had loved every second of that time.Â
âNow youâre in my life / I canât get you off my mindâ had Liliana reeling. Two lines of a song had never summed up how she felt so perfectly. She wondered how Harry had managed to inject everything she felt into the album, and she was only two songs into the album.Â
The first few songs had her bobbing her head softly and wiggling her feet to the beats of the songs. When Lilianaâs phone lit up with a text message notification from Evelyn, she did a double take at the title of the song that just started.Â
Matilda.Â
It took a matter of seconds for Lilianaâs emotions to get too much for her and for tears to stream down her cheeks. By the end of the song, her entire body shook as she sobbed. She tried her best to calm her breathing so that she wouldnât wake Taron, and she had to pause the album so that she didnât miss anything while crying.Â
Liliana couldnât quite comprehend how one song could make her feel so many conflicting emotions. For a second she was tempted to wake Taron so that she could talk through it with him, but he got so little time away from work and was always the first person to comfort her so she let him sleep for a little longer.Â
She played the song for a second time so that she could be sure she heard it properly the first time. The second listen made her cry even more. It was a song that spoke to her on a visceral level, and she was unsure how she would ever be the same again after hearing it.Â
When Harry crooned âYou can let it go / You can throw a party full of everyone you know / You can start a family who will always show you love / You donât have to be sorry for doing it on your ownâ, Lilianaâs breath caught in her throat.Â
Taron had gone above and beyond for her for so long, and it took until then for Liliana to know just how badly she needed everything heâd offered her. She finally took the time to acknowledge that she was ready to accept everything he offered her, no matter how scary it was.Â
One of her favourite quotes from university pops into her mind. âIt doesnât take a lot of strength to hang on. It takes a lot of strength to let goâ. Listening to Harry tell her that she can let everything go made everything click into place.Â
Sheâd spent so much of her life worrying that sheâd been weak for leaving and running to Edinburgh. To Liliana, she had left the hard life to move on to a new life. But now she knew that wasnât the case. It had taken strength to leave.Â
Liliana stared at the curtains on the campervan. Tears still clouded her vision but she was a little more in control of her emotions by that point. She thought about everything that had happened with Taron, and what could still happen.Â
Liliana was finally ready to open up completely. She wanted to start a new life with Taron, and to let all of the pain from her past go. The thought of being free from the guilt of leaving and not seeing Matilda made her shake a little in her spot.Â
In the past few months, her relationship with Matilda had grown even more, and they were closer than ever. Liliana had bought Matilda her own phone so that she didnât have to use Elizaâs to contact her, and they texted at least once a day, if not more.Â
Liliana also accepted the fact that she could spend time without having to spend time near her mum too. The two werenât mutually exclusive. Liliana could go to Wales and take Matilda out for the day. Eliza never had to be a part of her time with her sister.Â
The final song in the album was yet another moment where Liliana stopped in her tracks, and her breath caught in her throat. Yet another song had Liliana wondering how Harry had managed to inject her life into it.Â
âBaby, you were the love of my life / Maybe, you donât know itâs lost til you find it / Itâs not what I wanted / To leave you behind / Donât know where youâll land when you fly / But baby, you were the love of my lifeâ.Â
Taron was the love of her life. They had only been dating for a couple of months, but everything from their past led Liliana to believe that she would never love anybody the way that she loved Taron. She hadnât realised how much she loved him when she left for Edinburgh, until she was there.Â
Now that she had him back, she wouldnât let him go. Not if she could help it. Taron was everything Liliana had ever needed, and she was willing to do anything she could to show Taron that she wanted him and that she would love him with everything in her being.Â
***
After an afternoon of hiking up Ben Nevis and an evening eating food in a local pub before they headed to their second stop off for the night, a bonfire by the water was just what Taron and Liliana needed to unwind.Â
Liliana had listened to the album another two times during the day, once on her own when they were headed up a particularly difficult part of the mountain, and once with Taron. The entire time he listened to it, Taron looked at Liliana.Â
He had just as many conflicting feelings as Liliana had the first time sheâd listened. And when he heard Matilda for the first time, his shoulders dropped and he pulled Liliana into his body to hold her close.Â
While they listened, he had whispered numerous times how much he loved her, and sheâd reciprocated that love. It wouldnât be the last time that they would listen to the album together.Â
The heat from the bonfire warmed Liliana through to the bone as she looked over Loch Eil. It had grown chillier near the loch as the evening drew closed and nighttime ascended upon them. The moon shone bright in the sky and lit up the waterâs surface with glitters of silver and white.Â
It was silent except for the crickets in the hills across that surrounded them, and the breeze that still wrapped around the area as though it were a warm blanket. Liliana basked in the serenity she was bathed in while Taron added more sticks to the fire to keep it alight for a little longer.Â
Liliana had grabbed blankets from the campervan that she and Taron could curl up in while they sat around the fire. She showed Taron how to make the best Sâmore and he ate so many that his stomach hurt. Liliana could only chuckle at him as she took another bite of her own with a huge grin on her face.Â
âThose are good,â Taron smiled at her. He kissed her lips and then licked his clean from the melted marshmallow that had transferred. âIâm just going to go grab another drink. Do you want one?âÂ
Liliana shook her head and held her mug up at him. âStill got some. Thank you though, babe.âÂ
Taron nodded as he stood from his seat and walked over to the campervan. Rocks crunched under his feet with each step. Liliana watched as he went, and bit the inside of her cheek when he wiggled his butt at her. She tittered softly and turned back to the water as he climbed into the back of the camper.Â
âIâve been thinking a lot about something,â Taron said when he made his way back to Liliana a few seconds later. âI love you.âÂ
âI love you too,â Liliana responded instantly. She never had to think about whether she loved him or not, it was just a fact. âBut whatâs got you thinking about that?âÂ
Taron shook his head as he sat back down. He held his arm at the side of him and Liliana eyed it curiously. Taron ignored her glances and continued to talk.Â
âIâve been thinking about usâdonât worry, nothing bad. Itâs justâŚwhat you said yesterday really struck a chord. About me and how you just know that Iâm here to stay? I realised I never answered anything you said.âÂ
âYeah because you were too busy giving me three orgasms,â Liliana mused.Â
Taron smirked but quickly shook his head, âI could have made it four. Anyway, as I was saying, you are the best person Iâve ever known. You make me feel like the happiest version of me. And I honestly think that had it not been for our time apart, we wouldnât be where we are now.âÂ
Liliana smiled knowingly. âI know. I keep wondering what would have happened if Iâd have stayed but I think we would have been stuck. I wouldnât have admitted anything to you because I never would have gone through the things I did when I was in Edinburgh. I wouldnât have gone to therapy and pieced everything together.âÂ
âI was so in love with you back then that I was scared I would have scared you away if I said anything. It took me losing you to realise how big of a pedestal Iâd put you on back then. Not that I was wrong to, I mean, look at you.â Taron paused to look Liliana up and down. Her cheeks grew a deeper shade of red and she pulled her lips into her mouth. âYou are, and have always been, perfect. And you are by far the strongest person I have ever had the privilege of knowing.
âWhen we listened to the album earlier, I listened and all I could think was, thereâs this woman who has gone through more than I could ever comprehend and sheâs still going. Youâre so strong that you left and did what you needed to. Leaving made you stronger, and if Iâm being honest, it made you an even better person.Â
âYouâre no longer the person you were back then. Youâre an adult who is whole. You know what you need in a person and I hope that I can be everything for you.âÂ
âYou are,â Liliana whispered as she wrapped her arms around one of Taronâs and rested her head on his shoulder. âYouâre more than everything. Everything Iâve ever wanted and needed, you are.âÂ
Taron beamed at her words and grabbed the champagne bottle that he had been hiding and popped the cork with a flourish. âI bought this yesterday to celebrate six months together and all of your achievements with the second book.â He filled his cup and Lilianaâs with champagne and raised it to toast her.
âCheers to you Liliana, and to us, Iâm so glad that we found our way back to one another,â Taron said sincerely. âYou are the love of my life.âÂ
Liliana kissed his shoulder and looked at him, âAnd youâre mine. Forever.â

Youâre My Best Friend
Hello my Tumblr Lovelyâs,
This is the last part of this Robyn and Taron story. I am currently writing the next one and once, itâs finished I will post it :)
Thanks for all the love on this one.
Love Suze xx

âIs it possible for home to be a person and not a place?â
Taron let Robyn sleep and doze for a little while after the movie, one that he could not tell you the plot of because he knew he had been dozing himself, so cosy and warm as he lay on the couch and he would have continued to doze with her except his rumbling stomach woke her up. During the movie, she had turned a little to her side, her head lower on his body and he cringed as his stomach growled again.
âDoes anything not satisfy you?â Robyn had been happily laying against him and after the fourth time his stomach made noise, she lifted her head from him moving so she could lean on his shoulder instead. âI mean you got a cooked breakfast which was more of a lunch and muffins.â
Taronâs body shook as he laughed. âI am a growing young boy.â
âSo you keep telling me.â Robyn yawned, giving herself a half stretch. âWhat movie did you pick?â
âNo idea.â Taron replied. âI didnât even watch it.â
âNo?â
âNope. Â Took a Taron nap too.â
They both laughed and Robyn reached for his left arm so she could check the time, her eyes widening as she looked at the hands on the clock. âTaron it is after seven!â Robyn exclaimed. âThe whole day is gone.â Her face turned a little sad which Taron picked up on.
âCariad, getting to nap with you on your couch in your home with no interruption is the best way I could think of to spend the day and I would stay here of the rest of evening except my stomach has other ideas, as always.â
Robyn gave him a gentle pat. âWell should we do something about that then?â
âYeah muffins.â
Robyn sat up and gave herself another stretch. âNo not muffins.â
âCookies?â He knew the cushion was coming his way before it happened and was prepared to catch it as Robyn threw a blue one at him. âOk not cookies.â
âNot cookies.â Robyn repeated, standing up. âBut how about some soup and a toasted sandwich?â She reached out her hands to him and helped pull him to his feet.
âSounds perfect.â
Walking into the kitchen, Robyn turned on some lights along the way, going to the freezer and taking out two bags of frozen soup, putting them on the counter. She loved to make homemade vegetable soup and always made extra so she could pop it in the freezer and have some whenever she wanted. It was so easy to re-heat it in the microwave and it tasted just the same as when it was made fresh in the pot.
âCan I do the toastie?â Taron asked as he watched Robyn get two bowls out.
âYou wanna?â
âSure. I can make a gourmet one.â
Giving a chuckle, Robyn nodded. âYou know where everything is.â
Twenty minutes later, they sat down at the breakfast bar with a steaming bowl of vegetable soup and toastie filled with cheese, ham and chicken and a little salad on the side. The easy meal was comforting and enough to fill them both though Taron grinned when Robyn gave him a muffin and hot cup of tea afterwards.
âI thought you said no more muffins?â Taron asked pulling some crumbs from the top off to eat.
âYou think I would not give you one?â She grinned. âAnd I said no to muffins for dinner. We had a very nice meal.â She reached over to take a piece from the top of the muffin. âThis is dessert and I have a suggestion for you for after dessert.â She said after she ate it.
âA suggestion?â Taron asked.
âYup.â
âGo onâŚâ
âYou could use that voucher you brought for running a bath.â Robyn explained slowly. âYou brought it with you and while I know you will be back with me again, I donât know when. I think tonight would be the perfect opportunity to use it. While you finish the tea, I can run it for you.â
âRobyn, you donât have to do that for me.â
âI know I donât have to but I know you and deep down inside, you were looking forward to it. You love those bubble jets and I can fill it with the nice muscle relaxer salts and bubbles.â She reached over and took his hand. âIt is one of your vouchers and the deal with the vouchers was when you were given them, that when you give one to me, we use it.â She ran her thumb over the back of his hand and she then had a double think about what she had asked him. âIf it is too soon then that isâŚâ
Taron shook his head. âThe bath isnât enclosed and I mean if they are going to be bubbles.â
âI donât want to push you.â
Her hand was squeezed tightly. âNot pushing at all.â He assured her.
Robyn let go of his hand and sat back on her stool, suddenly realising what she had asked Taron. âYou know what, it was a stupid suggestion. What was I even thinking? I mean you have had two horrible experiences in a nine foot deep pool, why on earth would you want to sit in a bath which is basically a smaller version of a pool so just ignore the last two minutes of conversation and drink your tea and eat your muffin and then maybe we can find another movie we wonât watch.â She turned a little on her stool and waited for the ground to swallow her up, her inner self kicking her stupidity in asking Taron did he want to have a bath. She had no idea what she was doing asking him, especially when he had been in tears in her arms two days ago because he panicked in a pool of water. She muttered to herself under breath, giving herself a verbal beating. âStupid.â She murmured, her eyes down.
âCariadâŚâ Two arms slipped around her waist, carefully turning her around and Taron brought her close against him. âI love you, you know that right?â He rubbed her back gently as he held her against him. As soon as Robyn had mentioned taking a bath, every part of him said yes. He had only been in her bath once and he remembered every minute of it and how amazing the water jets felt on his body which had been through hell. While this time around his hell had been in water, he had routed for his bath voucher, praying he would get the opportunity to use it and Robyn had offered it to him on a plate and there was no way that he was going to turn it down. His shower earlier had not been too bad, even though it had been quick and he knew inside getting back on the horse was the best way to move on but also it was a bath that he could lay in and feel the bottom of. âYou have no idea how good a bath sounds right now, one with bubbles and jets and real bubbles too.â He gave her a squeeze. âWith extra bubbles.â He brushed her cheek with a kiss and took a step back. âAnd I can always get out if I donât feel comfortable and then I think we should snuggle deep under the duvet and sleep.â
âNo Taron, letâs not worry about it. We can clean up here and just go back to the couch. It was a stupid idea and I donât know what I was even thinking.â
âRobyn, stop.â Taron placed his hands on her cheeks, seeing the worry in her eyes. âStop. I want the bath.â He said firmly. âItâs a wonderful idea and it will help to get the last of the cold from my body and little kinks that are still in my lower back.â
âLiar.â Robyn replied to him. âYou are as warm as you have ever been and you have not felt a twinge since you got your back rub yesterday morning.â
âYeah well, I still want the bath.â He answered back. âAnd I will never say no to something that gives me a back rub, even jets in a bath.â
âTaron, please, letâs just leave it.â
He shook his head. âAbsolutely not. I never get to take a bath. Never anywhere. I donât have one in Wales or London and I never even think of taking one when I am in a hotel because I am so busy and just drop onto the bed and sleep.â
âI donât want you to relive anything from set.â
Taron smiled lovingly at her. âAre you going to let anything happen to me while I soak in the tub?â Robyn sighed and shook her head. âAnd if you hear anything out of the ordinary, will you come running to me as I sit in bubbles in my nudey nudes?â Her laugh was quiet but he heard it. âIf you didnât think it was good for me, you wouldnât have suggested it in the first place because you have never ever done something for me that wasnât in my best interest.â He pressed a kiss to her forehead. âAnd I wouldnât be insisting if I didnât feel comfortable and I want to use the voucher to have a bath Robyn and I can go and do it myself.â
Robyn let her head fall from his hands, her forehead resting on his chest under his chin, feeling him run his hands up and down her back. âYou know I canât resist those green eyes and deep Welsh tones.â She said quietly.
âGuess I will have to use them more often.â He chuckled. âBut you know I cannot help that my eyes are green or that my accent has a hint of Welsh in it. Thatâs genetics.â
âHmph.â Robyn grunted, lifting her head to look at him. âYou feel the slightest bit off and you get out.â
âI will.â
âAnd donât feel like you have to do this because you brought the voucher. I know I said it would be a while before you are back again, but you will be back so it can be used then.â
âI know.â
âAnd I can just rub your back if thatâs what you want. You know I love doing that for you.â
Taron grinned at her. âI think I shall take that option tomorrow.â He laughed hard as she lightly pushed him away. âRobyn, the bath and bubbles sound amazing right now.â
âFine but I am going to give you so many bubbles, they will still be there when the water is cold.â
âSounds perfect.â
âAnd there will be a very feminine scent in the bath.â
âThatâs ok.â
âAnd the bath water is more than likely going to turn pink.â
âThatâs ok too.â
âAnd those bath salts have a scent too so you know they are all going to mix together and you are going to end up smelling like a very flowery bouquet of flowers.â
âI am just fine with that. I am only coming out for a cuddle with you afterwards.â
âAnd you can use stronger jets this time cos you are not completely battered and bruised but that might make even more bubbles and they will be everywhere in the bathroom and that will be a big mess to clean up.â
âRobynâŚâ Taronâs smiled at her ramblings. âStop trying to find a way out of this and letâs get going. I need you to run this bath for me.â
She sighed but had already caved to his sparkling green eyes. âYeah alright.â Taking his hand, they walked into the bathroom, Robyn turning on the lights as she went. Going to the press under the sink, she opened the door and took out a green packet. âYou mind holding this?â She asked him.
âThought I was going to smell like a bouquet of flowers.â He asked with a grin as he read the label, grinning more as she shrugged. âJuniper and thyme. Not so flowery. Did you threaten me with flowery scents but are not going to follow through with them?â
Robyn gave him a look over her shoulder and then turned her attention back to the bath and turning on the hot tap. âI could but I wonât.â She said to him. âI donât want to be smelling flowers all night.â
It wasnât a side of Robyn he saw very often but he adored it when she was annoyed or at least trying her hardest to be. He strolled over to her and crouching down beside her, gave her a sideways hug. âI promise you cariad, I would not be doing this if I truly and honestly didnât want too and I know I will love every minute of this. I donât get it very often.â He felt her lean into him and knew then that this was going to be the most amazing bath.
âWill you open the salts for me please?â
Taron opened the green bag and once Robyn had plugged the bath, the now steaming water filling the white tub, she took a handful of salt out and ran it under the tap so it melted away into the water, following with three more.
âYou want to pick your own bubble bath and bath bomb?â She asked him standing up, taking his hand to help him up too.
âCan I?â
âSure.â She chuckled. âGo and choose from the shelf behind you.â
While Robyn put the bag of salts back in the press, Taron had a look at the different bottles, bars and bombs she had for her bath. There were all types of scents and a basket filled with circular bath bombs and he tried to read each one and figure out what he wanted to use but knew he needed a female opinion. He turned around and saw Robyn leaning against the sink her arms crossed, her face grinning. âPerhaps you would like to come and help me?â He asked.
With a smile Robyn walked over to him and standing beside him picked a silver bottle and handed it to him. âShea bubble bath. Not too feminine and will leave your skin very nice and soft afterwards but it also makes very good bubbles.â She then routed through her wicker basket of bath bombs and pulled out one wrapped in a brown paper with a blue sticker. âAnd this is a bath bomb called ocean. Not girly at all.â
âNot a flowery scent in sight.â
Robyn grinned. âNope and I wouldnât do that to you.â She unwrapped the bath bomb and handed it to him. âYou wanna throw it in?â
âOk.â Standing where he was, a few feet from the bath, Taron threw the bath bomb and it landed with a large plop and splash into the bath.
âTaron!â
âWhat?â He turned to her with a shrug. âYou said throw it in.â
âI didnât actually mean throw it in!â She laughed. She headed to the bath and looked in, watching as the bath bomb fizzed around, the white and blue of the ingredients melting into the water. âIt goes with your bubble bath.â She explained to him. âShea butter and sea salt.â
âI am gonna come out as soft as cwtch.â Taron chuckled. âBut you know itâs the jets I am looking forward too.â
âI know that.â Robyn nodded. âAnd I know you know how to work them but you have to add something to the water too.â
âLike bubbles?â He asked holding out the silver bottle.
âYes, bubbles. How many do you want?â
âWell you told me there would be so many bubbles, they would still be there when the water went cold, so that many.â
âOkie dokie.â Robyn took the bottle from him and sat on the edge of the bath near the taps. She looked to Taron and pointed a finger his way. âDo not push me in.â She grinned.
Taron smirked. âDo you think I would do that?â
âOh absolutely.â
He laughed deeply. âI wonât I promise. It will ruin my bath. Another time sure, but not now.â
Robyn loved how bright his face was, how his smile filled every part of him and could tell he was happy and that was all she wanted for him. She turned her attention back to the taps and she slowly poured the white bubble bath through the cascading hot water from the tap, bubbles immediately forming and flowing down and across the bath. She kept pouring and pouring until the top of the water was covered, continuing to pour more of the white silky mixture in.
âRobyn, I think you have enough now.â
âFor a bubble bath, you need more bubbles than you think you need.â She tipped the bottle a little more and once another generous amount slid into the water, she held it upright and replaced the cap. A gorgeous smell filled the bathroom along with a steam from the heat from the water and Robyn wished the bath was for her but Taron needed it more plus he was the lucky one who was given a book of vouchers to use. Getting to her feet she put the bottle on the shelf and then back at the bath, knelt down and swirled her hand through the water, helping to mix more bubbles.
âI donât think I am getting out of this.â Taron crouched down beside her. âYou know how to run a good bath.â
âAll you need now are some candles, music, and a face mask.â
Taron looked at her with a raised eyebrow. âI know you can provide all three.â He grinned.
âYou want?â She asked.
âWell, I wonât say no.â
On her feet, Robyn walked into her wardrobe and took two candles from the shelf she stored them on. She grabbed the box of matches and carried them into the bathroom. âFollowing on from the theme, not flowery.â She lit the candles and left them on the sink. âClean cotton sheets and ocean breeze.â
âOk, wow you are actually going to do the other things.â
âWell yeah.â Robyn turned to him. âYou can pick you own music.â Back over at the shelf, she routed through another wicker basket and took out a sheet face mask. âNeed some hydration?â
âGod yes.â He reached and took the mask from her. âPerfect though this is much more than a bath and not covered in a voucher.â
âAnd how many days of relaxation are you going to get when you get back to London?â She asked him. âStraight back to work, long nights and days and I know the last couple of weeks on set are always busy and demanding, so take this hour to enjoy the basic luxury I can offer you.â
His hug was tight and his first kiss was quick while the rest left Robyn wanting more so on her tip toes she kissed him again.
âSo, I take that kiss as you are on board with me having the bath then?â
âYup.â Robyn gave him a squeeze and stepped back, her hands going to his cheeks. âYou call me if you feel any way off, panic or need to get out ok?â
âI will, I promise but I am not leaving this bath of bubbles until I go completely wrinkly.â
âEverywhere?â Robyn grinned.
âEverywhere.â He confirmed.
Robyn left him with a smile and after she had closed the door to the closet, Taron left the face mask at the side of the bath and grabbed a towel from the laundry room, putting it on the silver bars of the towel warmer, switching it on. Ridding himself of his shirt, he folded it and placed it counter of the sink, the opposite side to the candles. Walking back to the bath, he was glad he did as the water was starting to get high and he turned off the tap. The bubbles were right up to the edge of the bath, glistening in the light of the bathroom. It looked incredibly inviting and smelt amazing. Adding his shorts and boxers to his shirt, he padded over to the bath and carefully lifted his right foot to step in, the heat a little too hot on his skin but he knew his body would adjust quickly. Both legs in, he lowered himself down, a little concerned that the water was going to spill over the edge but once he lay against the back of the bath, the ripples of the water settled and the bubbles floated back into place. His whole body quickly soaked up the warmth and he knew immediately that he was going to be ok sitting in the bath. The water was gorgeously warm, the numerous bubbles way too much but also perfect and whatever Robyn had added to the water was already helping him relax and it was nothing like a cold freezing pool on set. He took some calming deep breathes, already smelling the fragrance from the candles Robyn had lit and Taron knew he was going to enjoy this so much. Lifting his left hand, he reached for the control panel for the jets and switched it onto low. Immediately programmed streams of bubbles rose from the bottom, back and sides of the bath and Taronâs head turned when he heard some splashes and lifted his body a little out of the water.
âWoops.â
There were a few bubbles on the bathroom floor, another couple joining them as the jets made the water ripple. Knowing there was nothing he could do about it, he moved back against the bath and pressed the button for the jets to fizzle stronger. His neck rolled as the pressure of the water felt amazing against his skin. The dancing bubbles rolling against his whole back and legs and he decided that he needed to invest in a bath that made bubbles for his home and somehow try to fit it in his bathroom because it was exactly what he would need after a long day on set. Â He called out for Alexa to play some Joni Mitchel and once he had the face mask positioned properly, he lay back and dipped down into the water until his chin covered his bubbles. He was going to happily lay as long as he could until the water went cold or Robyn came looking for him, figuring the second option was the most likely one to happen.
Robyn had her ear pressed hard against the bathroom door and stood there for about ten minutes listening for any signs that Taron could be in distress but she heard nothing, only the gentle tones of one of his favourite artists filtering through. Still concerned she had pushed him too hard even with their jokes, Robyn stayed at the door another five minutes before she knew she had to trust that Taron would call her if he needed her. Needing a distraction, she headed for the laundry room and emptied the washing machine, popping the clothes into the dryer. She needed to keep Taron in clean clothes for the rest of his time with her and she wanted to be sure when they woke tomorrow he would have something to wear.
Before she left the laundry room, she grabbed a fresh change of bed sheets. Saturday was her usual day to change the sheets but Taron would sleep even better in a freshly made bed. Dragging the duvet off, she pulled the pillows from the pillow cases and dropped them onto the floor and stripped the bed completely, making it up with a dark blue fitted sheet, a light blue flat on top and six fresh pillow cases. Once the bed was fully remade, the pillows fluffed, cwtch back in the centre of the bed, Robyn started the washing machine with the sheets. She was absolutely guilty of pressing her ear to the bathroom door again through the laundry room but everything was quiet, Joni playing, the hum of the bath coming through the door too. Walking back into the kitchen, Robyn paced as she took her iron tablet and paced some more until she couldnât take the silence any longer. Taron had been in the bathroom nearly forty minutes and while the bath water had been scorching hot, it had to have gone cold by now and she was worried that she had heard nothing from him.
Back in the bedroom, she walked to the bathroom door and gave it a knock, a second one following when she heard nothing. Robyn felt her heart start to beat a little quicker and her mind race with upsetting thoughts.
âTaron?â She knocked harder, her voice louder.
âRobyn?â She heard him call back and let out the breath she had been holding. âYou ok?â
âAm I ok? Are you ok?â She called in.
âYeah, I am fine.â
âYou are very quiet.â
âWell cariad, I am having a bath with bubbles, lit candles, a face mask and Joni.â
She leaned her forehead on the door, closing her eyes, picturing exactly what he had described. âAre there still bubbles?â
Taron looked to the water which was had definitely lost a lot of its heat but still felt good and the mountain of bubbles were floating thickly on top. âYes Robyn. You poured half the bottle in.â
âOk good, âcos I am coming in!â
âWait, what?â
The door opened and even though he was completely submerged in white foamy bubbles, Taronâs hands went right down to cover himself, his head turning to watch as Robyn walked in. âChicken!â
âLots of bubbles, right?â She asked as she stood at the door.
âWell yeah.â
âAnd can anything be seen?â
Taron glanced over the water and shook his head. âWell no.â
âSo, am I ok to keep going over to you?â She asked. âI will stay at the top of the bath at your head.â
Taron took his hands away and turned a little in the bath. âYou are going to stay here with me?â
âOk do I need to spell this out for you?â She asked with a little smile. âYou have been here nearly forty minutes, I couldnât hear anything and I was worried.â
Taronâs face grinned, though it was hard to tell as he still had the facemask on. âYou have spent the whole time listening against the door, havenât you?â
Robyn tilted her head. âNot the whole time.â She took a step closer to the bath. âI changed the bed sheets, put on a wash and took my tablet too.â
Taron tugged at the edge of the face mask and pulled it from his face. âAnd spent the remainder of the time listening at the door, right?â
Robyn bit her lip and nodded. âI wasâŚâ
âWorried.â Taron finished for her. He glanced at the bath water again. âYou canât see anything?â
âUh-uh.â
âBecause that fills me with confidence.â
Robyn chuckled. âI canât see a thing Taron. I filled that bath with so many bubbles, the ratio of water to bubbles is in favour of the bubbles.â
His laugh was light and he gave her a nod. âWell come on over then.â
Robyn walked to the bath and as promised, once she had pulled the bath mat over so she had something soft to kneel on, found position at the back of the bath, while Taron lay back as he was before but his hands were definitely resting on his lap.
âBath was nice then?â Robyn asked him.
âPerfect. These jets are powerful and the bubbles, bubbly.â
âAnd you are probably all wrinkly because you have been in here so long.â Taron lifted his left hand from the water and Robyn reached forward to take it, running the tips of her fingers over his. âLike a prune.â She dropped his hand, his arm falling into the bath with a splash. âAnd you are ok right?â
âI am just fine. I promise. Warm and relaxed and very much needing one of these for my home.â
Robyn smiled at him. âI am sure you can organise that.â
âProbably but it wonât come with the salts, or bubble bath or bath bombs or a Robyn to make it perfect for me.â
Her laugh was light and she knelt to her full height so she could stretch over him to gently kiss his lips and then his forehead. âIt is easy to run a bath Taron.â
âNah-ah.â He replied, loving the beautiful upside down kiss he just got. âI wonât be able to melt the salts properly and probably end up getting all the bubble bath the smells like flowers.â
Robyn stayed kneeling as she was and ran her left hand through his hair. âI can always give you the name of the bubble bath.â She added her right hand to his head. âAnd the bath bombs.â She waited for him to answer but nothing came. âTaron?â
âHairâŚâ
Shaking her head, Robyn used her nails to very lightly scratch his scalp. âAlways with the hair.â
âMy favourite thing.â
âYou are going to get cold in that water.â
âFive minutes.â
âTwo.â Robyn countered. âAnd we can continue this in the nice warm bed.â
âDeal.â The two minutes went by in a flash and Taron groaned when Robyn took her hands from his hair. âDonât even complain to me.â She told him. âThe point of the bath was to warm you up, not cool you down.â
âYeah alright.â Taron agreed, feeling the cooler water against his skin, now that his head massage was finished with. He looked at the water, still full with bubbles and sighed. âYou do realise that when I stand up, I am going to be covered in bubbles.â
Robyn lightly laughed as she got to her feet, fixing the bath mat back beside the porcelain tub. âHmmm I shall leave you to figure that one out yourself then.â
âRobynâŚâ Taronâs tone was bright but he moved in the bath to kneel, his arms resting on the side of the tub. âRobyn!â Looking down at his chest, as he thought, his skin was covered in the frothy bubbles, his arms too.
When she looked back, she grinned. âThat is a good look for you.â
âCariadâŚâ
âNearly better than your flour look.â She disappeared from view for about three second and was back with her phone, taking two photos. âFor my wall.â
âWhy you⌠Robyn!â
âI will keep the bed warm for you.â She giggled, walking out of the bathroom and closing the door, her heart beating a little fast as she looked at the two photos she had just snapped. Hair brushed to the side and covered in bubbles, she was definitely going to print this one out for her photos above her headboard.
Taron had to brush all the bubbles from his body once he stood up to his full height, shaking his head as he had to do his legs too once he got fully out of the bath. He felt a shiver run through him as he stepped across the tiles to get the towel, the blue fluffy material lovely and warm and he wrapped himself up in it before he tied it around his waist. Reaching over to the mirror, he had to wipe it with his hand to get the condensation off. His skin was pink, his cheeks flushed and his hair a mess and he felt wonderful. The bath was been an extra treat he needed and as he lay, he just emptied his thoughts as best he could, trying to be positive about the last couple of days. While the set work was horrible, he tried to remember it was the last of his pool work and he had about four weeks left before he was done and could take a break. While he was disappointed in himself and his work, he knew Matthew was going to send him the footage and his director was happy with it. He had some time away from set and that always helped to clear his head and he was doing it with one of the most important people in his life who as always loved him and looked after him and supported him in every way she could.
Glancing in the mirror, his face was just smiling and he enjoyed it. Running his hands over his chin, he needed a shave but brought nothing so shave with. Going to set, he took the bare minimum with him, knowing Stephanie would have what he needed if he was required to shave. He had to admit that he was enjoying the reactions he was getting from Robyn with his growing facial hair, especially when he kissed her neck and around her t-shirt. He could feel her sharp intakes of breath and how her heart kicked up a beat and it made him grin to know he had caused that.
A little happy sigh came from his lips and he routed in his wash bag for his toothbrush, his fingers touching something cold and metal and a wide smile came to him. Slipping his hands under the delicate material, he lifted it from his wash bag, the four jewels sparkling in the bathroom light. Robyn had asked him to try and find it for her and in turn he had begged Matthew and the crew in Belfast to keep an eye out for Robynâs precious bracelet, even though it seemed a lost cause. He was surprised and astonished when he was handed the piece of jewellery in the make-up trailer by Stephanie on Wednesday. He stuttered his disbelief as she explained that the crew from the last time they were at the pool, had found it under one of the deck chairs and kept it safe until the production team were back. They gave it to Matthew who in turn gave it to Stephanie who had given it a shine up and handed it to a thankful Taron. He had placed it in his wash bag, the only place he could think of to keep it safe at the time when his mind was frazzled.
Now as he held it in his hands, he couldnât wait to give it back to Robyn. He knew how much it meant to her and he felt the meaning behind the bracelet had increased ten-fold since yesterday. Placing it carefully back into his leather bag, he found his toothbrush and using the minty toothpaste from the sink, swayed along to the song on the speaker, bopping his head and stepping from side to side. He had changed the music from Joni to an eighties playlist after he got out of the bath as he found Joni was making him drift off and the upbeat music and the slight giddiness he was feeling felt fantastic.
Robyn leant against the doorframe and watched with amusement as Taron danced in front of the mirror. She had changed into her pyjamas and was waiting for Taron but again he was taking too long. She quietly pushed down on the door handle and peaked around the door, letting it open fully as she saw him in a towel, in front of the mirror, dancing with his toothbrush. Each minute he was with her, his smile grew wider, the unease he arrived with left him and he was his goofy old self. While she thought the bath was a terrible idea, it seemed to have literally washed away his worries and as his moves became more daring, Robyn chuckled, watching as he pointed his toothbrush at the mirror.
When he heard laughter, Taron knew he had been caught and decided there was no point in stopping and kept dancing, doing a twirl with a wink. âYou know you wanna join in!â
Robyn walked towards him and picked up her toothbrush. âNope, just wanna brush my teeth.â
Taron stood as still as he could but his head was still moving in time with the music and they stood side by side as they brushed their teeth and once Robyn was finished, she gave him a grin in the mirror. âContinue as you were.â
âYes maâam.â
He finished with his teeth and then rubbed some moisturiser into his face, drying himself fully and got back into his boxer shorts. He took out the bracelet from his wash bag, hiding it as best as he could in the palm of his hand. When he got the bracelet, he had wanted to give it to Robyn as soon as he could and now seemed like the most perfect time. After he gave the bath a rinse down and the bathroom floor a wipe, he made sure to turn off all of the lights in the bathroom before he left, blowing out the candles too, stopping the music and wandered into the bedroom, closing all the doors behind him. He saw Robyn sitting in the bed, the duvet around her, on her side and he took one run and jump, landing on the bed in a heap beside her.
âYou are a tosspot, you know that right?â
âYeah, a tosspot who is getting another head massage.â He wiggled his eyebrows at her.
Robyn gave him a fake push. âOh yeah?â
âErm yeah. Took me ages to get all the bubbles off.â
Robyn grinned and moved so she could run her hand over his shoulders and gently down his back. âMade you as soft as cwtch. Just like I said it would.â
âAlways right.â He closed his eyes and lay down on his left side on the bed beside her. âThatâs nice.â
âThought it was a head massage I owed you.â
âHead, back, arms, face, who knows.â
Robyn moved closer to him, lifting his head so she could lay him in her lap and continued to lightly stoke his back in slow up and down caresses along his spine. His skin was silky smooth under her fingers and his back rose and fell in deep easy breathes.
âYou want to get under the duvet before you fall asleep?â She asked him.
âYes, but there is something I have for you first.â Taron sat up and crossed his legs, getting comfortable beside her.
âIf you have a handful of bubbles to blow in my face, Taron Egerton you better re-think that plan.â Robyn saw his closed fist and could only imagine what he was up to.
âI donât.â He assured her. âI promise I donât.â He reached forward and placed his cupped hand into her right one. âClose your eyes.â He saw her doubtful look. âCariad, just close your eyes.â
With her eyes closed, Robyn felt Taron place her other hand over his fisted one and she waited for a few seconds, still with her eyes closed. She felt him open his hand and drop something onto her palm and once she heard the little clink, her eyes opened wide and she looked to her hands. Her eyes immediately lifted to look at Taron and he gave her the slightest nod. Glancing to her hands once more, she then threw herself at him, wrapping him up tight in her arms. He was not expecting the hug and when Robyn flung herself at him, he fell over backwards, laughing hard as she placed kiss after kiss after kiss all over his face. He let her kiss him, his body laying flat on the bed, his hands on her back. She gave him a couple more kisses, ending with four on his lips and then sat up, Taron leaning on his elbows, watching as she held her bracelet in her hands.
âHow on earth did you find it?â
âI didnât.â
Her face changed. âOh no, you didnât get a new one, did you?â
âOh no! No!â Taron pulled himself up, shuffling a little so Robyn was now sitting on his legs rather than his lap. âI didnât get a new one. This is the one I got you for your birthday.â
âTaron, how?â
âOne of the crew on set found it, under a deck chair, when they were clearing up the day after you were rushed to hospital. Matthew had asked them to keep an eye out for it and they found it. They minded it until production started again on Wednesday and they gave it to Matthew who gave it to Stephanie, who gave it to me and then I gave it back to you.â Her face was looking down and Taron lifted her chin. âRobyn, waitâŚâ He wiped a tear from her cheek. âWhy the tears?â
âBecause you found it.â She sniffed, wiping another tear that fell. âI didnât think I would ever get this back but you found a way to find it. This bracelet always meant so much to me because of the thought and meaning behind it.â
âCariadâŚâ
âAnd now well, now itâs just so much more special.â
Leaning into her, Taron held her close to him, laying his cheek on her shoulder. âTechnically I didnât find it.â
Robyn lifted herself from him and lightly thumbed his chest. âSeriously?â She asked with a smile.
âWell, I didnât, and ouch.â He replied rubbing his chest.
Robyn ducked her head and kissed the spot he had been rubbing. âSorry.â
âItâs ok if you do that again.â
She grinned and placed another kiss on his chest, moving up to the left side of his jaw and then his lips. âThank you.â
âYou are welcome. Just promise me you wonât lose it again.â
He was expecting the second thump and caught her hand as she went to get him, pulling her into him, kissing her before she could say something, slipped his two arms around her as they kissed. It was slow and silent, Robyn shuffling closer to his body, his chest pressed against hers, bare legs touching. Taron pulled back first, his gasp loud as Robyn tugged his hair so they could kiss again, her lips grazing over his. The scent from the bubble bath had left a wonderful aroma on his skin and Robyn inhaled the clean freshness deeply, her whole two hands running up and down his back, feeling him feed his fingers under the hem of her top, his hands resting on her waist, sneaking up further to feel bare skin.
Taron hummed happily with the sensation of her hands and lips and could feel himself slowly becoming excited. Of course it wasnât helping that every few seconds, Robyn rolled her hips against his groin and his eyes rolled when she hit a sensitive spot, his fingers digging into her.
âFuck sorry.â He apologised, his hands quickly rubbing over her sides. âSorry.â He took his hands from her. âSorry, justâŚâ He took a shaky breath, his hands running through his hair and down his face. âRobynâŚâ
Her body was still squashed against his and Robyn leaned in to press her forehead to his, not wanting to move away from him. âI knowâŚâ She answered him, hearing her voice tremble. âI know.â She didnât move from him, but rested her cheek on his shoulder instead, still trailing her finger tips up and down his spine. While she could feel the reason why Taron had pulled away, she needed to stay attached to him because she could use his body to disguise her own urges, though pressing her body against him, maybe wasnât a good idea but after another mouth-watering sensual make out session, she just wanted to be close to him. She could hear his heart racing and was glad to feel his hands slip back around body and under her top again, copying the circles she was making on his back.
They sat for a while, breathing each other in, Robyn hands moving to the hair as the nape of Taronâs neck, while his stayed roaming around her back.
âThose bubbles bath really made your skin so soft.â
Her words made him chuckle and he gave her a squeeze, moving away and looking straight in her eyes. âI am not complaining, believe me I am not.â He said. âButâŚâ He rose an eyebrow at her.
âYeah I know. Sorry.â
âOh no, please do not apologise.â He felt a red hue start to fill his cheeks. âItâs fucking amazing but I donât want to rush anything for us that we may not be ready for, even if our bodies are disagreeing.â
Robyn took her hands from his hand and cupped his left cheek, her thumb brushing over his lower lip. âOk well I am not sorry then.â She assured him. âYou have freckles on your bottom lip.â
âWhat?â Taronâs face turn confused for a moment, until she said it again.
âYes, you do.â She ran her thumb over his bottom lip again. âLittle ones.â
He chuckled at her. âTrust you for the most random change of subject when it is needed most.â
âI say it, like I see it.â
âAnd you saw freckles.â He grinned, pouting his lower lip out trying to see them for himself but that just made Robyn kiss him again.
âI love them.â She said to him. âI love learning all these new things about you.â She said softly.
âMe too.â He agreed âBut RobynâŚâ
âI love feeling all the new feels, Taron and they all feel right but I agree with what you said. Not rushing is a good idea, even though lots of things say otherwise.â
âEmotions and feeling are heightened a lot right now.â He smiled, giving her a light kiss. âAnd I could kiss you like this all night, in this position.â He grinned, his blush rising to his cheek bones.
Her little giggle made him blush more and she nodded at him. âMe too. I love kissing you and other things about you.â She added.
âRobynâŚâ His voice was deep and he couldnât help the moan that came from his lips as she adjusted herself on his lap. âRobynâŚâ
âSorryâŚâ She kissed him quickly. âSorry.â
âFuck, I love you too.â He pulled her into him and returned the kiss, everything heating up once more. âButâŚâ It took every ounce of his restraint to stop kissing her.
âA little slow down.â She finished for him.
âPlease.â
With a nod, Robyn wrapped him up in a hug. âAbout the head massage instead?â She took his nod into her as a yes and carefully lifted herself from his body. She had dropped the bracelet onto the bed when things got a little heated and picking it up handed it to him. âWant the honours?â
âSure.â Taron carefully clasped the bracelet back on for her.
âI am going to get a safety chain put it on so if it does open, I wonât lose it.â
âThatâs an excellent idea. I donât know if I can find it again, if it gets lost.â
âThat is not going to happen.â She moved backwards and kicked her legs under the duvet, throwing it back a little. âSo come on. I donât think we can get into much mischief with a head massage.â
Taron grinned. âYou think?â
âWell letâs give it a go.â
He had taken to laying on his left side beside her, but once Robyn made herself comfortable on the bed on her right side, she opened her arms for him and insisted that he lay his head cross her chest. Taron of course pretended to protest but snuggled deeply into her, slipping his right leg between hers, his eyes closing as he felt her pull the duvet over him.
âTomorrow you get the cuddle.â He purred, as he rubbed his nose deeply in the V of her string top, feeling Robynâs hand already starting to run through his hair.
âI am pretty sure there will be a switch during the night.â
âHmm yeah ok. Sleep now.â
âSure, sleep now.â She agreed, slowly playing with his hair. âEverything will play however it is meant to.â She whispered to him. âLetâs let it happen as it will.â
His right hand snaked under her top, the same way it seemed to be constantly doing lately, and his hand rested palm down on her rib cage. âSounds perfect cariad.â
âAnd please no more apologies for anything that our bodies may betray us with over the next few days ok because I am not complaining either.â
Taron lifted his whole body, placing his hands on Robynâs cheeks and pressed his lips to her hard, kissing her deeply, his tongue slipping through the tiniest bit. The little smacking sound echoed through the quiet bedroom as he broke the kiss, his whole face smiling. âOn board with all of that.â He chuckled, giving her one more light kiss, then cosying back into her as he had been, his hand finding its place again on her ribcage, his leg settling between hers.
It took Robyn a few seconds to adjust to his sudden kiss and after she shook her head, pulled the duvet back over him, knowing her heart was thumping hard as his face sat lower than before, his nose resting neatly between the V of her chest. It felt like he had always belonged there and while she had one hand in his hair, the other was making lazy circles on his back. His sigh was beautiful and peaceful and he was a different man to the one who had appeared on her doorstep two nights ago and Robyn loved every single part of him and as he moved to get completely comfortable, she had a feeling he felt the same way about her.

I had a thought the other day about feeding my stories into AI and getting it to write me the trilogy ending to Rewind and Fast Forward based on my own work. (I know what I want the plot and title to be for the third part). So I had a little experiment tonight, and asides from the length restrictions and rejection of explicit content I did manage to get it to write me something!
I fed it Familiar as it's the most PG thing I've written and I asked it to write a part 2, so I'll copy in what it came up with and let you see all the flaws for yourself.
Taron's fingers nervously drummed on the polished surface of the bar, his gaze darting around the dimly lit room as he waited. He'd chosen a cozy, out-of-the-way bar, hoping it would provide some respite from the prying eyes of the paparazzi that seemed to be following his every move lately.
As he looked around, the low murmur of conversations and the soft clinking of glasses against the bar created a comforting ambiance. He couldn't help but feel a mixture of anticipation and uncertainty. Would Y/N show up? What if this was all just a wild coincidence, and she didn't actually remember him from their shared past?
His anxious thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the bar's entrance opening. Taron's heart skipped a beat as he turned to see Y/N stepping inside. The soft glow of the bar's lighting caught her features, making her smile all the more inviting. She walked over, her eyes locking onto his as she approached the barstool next to his.
"Hey," she greeted with a warm smile, taking the seat.
"Hey," Taron responded, a genuine smile spreading across his face.
The bartender came over, and Taron ordered their drinks, a cocktail for Y/N and a whiskey for himself. As they waited for their drinks to arrive, Taron couldn't help but feel a sense of ease settling in. The awkwardness that sometimes accompanied first meetings was absent, replaced by a strangely comfortable familiarity.
Their conversation flowed effortlessly, as if they were old friends catching up after a long separation. They talked about their lives, their interests, and their experiences since that shared holiday all those years ago. The stories flowed naturally, punctuated by laughter and genuine curiosity.
After a while, Taron looked at Y/N, a thoughtful expression on his face. "You know, it's funny. When I first walked into your cafĂŠ today, I felt this strange sense of connection. But I never imagined that we'd actually share such a significant part of our past."
Y/N nodded, her eyes reflecting a mix of surprise and amusement. "It's like fate had a plan for us to meet again, even after all these years."
Taron chuckled softly. "Fate and a little bit of help from you, guiding me away from those persistent photographers."
Y/N grinned. "Well, I couldn't let them ruin what might be a once-in-a-lifetime reunion."
As the night wore on, their connection deepened. Taron found himself opening up in ways he rarely did, and Y/N reciprocated, sharing her dreams and aspirations. The more they talked, the more it felt like they were rediscovering a bond that had never truly faded.
At some point, Taron's phone buzzed with a notification. He checked it and smiled. "Looks like the map worked." He slid his phone over to Y/N, showing a message with the name of a cafĂŠ for their next meeting.
Y/N chuckled. "No candles, I hope?"
Taron laughed, shaking his head. "Definitely no candles this time."
As the night grew late, they realized they'd spent hours lost in conversation. Taron signaled for the check, and they both stood up from the barstools.
"It's been an amazing night," Y/N said, her eyes sparkling.
Taron nodded in agreement. "Absolutely. I'm really glad we met again."
"Me too." Y/N hesitated for a moment before leaning in and giving Taron a warm hug. The embrace felt natural, like a reunion between long-lost friends.
Taron pulled away slightly, his gaze locking onto Y/N's. "Do you believe in second chances?"
Y/N smiled, her hand gently resting on his arm. "I think sometimes life gives us unexpected opportunities to reconnect and create new memories."
Taron's smile matched Y/N's. "Well, here's to second chances, new memories, and whatever the future holds."
They clinked their glasses together, the sound resonating with a promise of something special. As they walked out of the bar, side by side, there was a shared sense of excitement for the journey ahead, one that was filled with possibilities neither of them could have predicted.
---
So as you can see it skimps on the dialogue, details, and characterisation. There's plot holes everywhere, and bits don't quite make sense. But if you wanted a lazy framework to edit then it's a decent starting point!!
Just a little experiment so I'm not here for deep chats on AI, writing careers, strikes etc etc. I was just intrigued on how well it would do, and the answer is not very!!

Talk To Me
[Eggsy Unwin x Female!Reader]
Synopsis: With your boyfriend sneaking out 24/7 and always returning with carefully concealed injuries, it's only natural to be concerned.
WC: 3033
Category: Slight Angst + Fluff, Hurt/Comfort
I watched Carry-On last night (10/10 so good), and it got me re-thinking about one of my favorite films. Kingsman supremacy đ
ăâ˘â˘ââ˘â˘ă
You loved Eggsy. Dearly. Truly.
You loved him so much that sometimes it scared you. How fiercely your heart clung to his smile, how tenderly your hands always seemed to reach for his, how naturally your entire world had shifted around him without you even realizing it. He was yoursâscruffy, sweet Eggsy Unwinâand you believed you knew him. At least, you thought you did.
But then, the nights started.
At first, you didnât think much of it. Everyone had their own struggles, and Eggsy never struck you as someone whoâd open up easily about his. Heâd always been the type to handle his own problems, to wear his hardships like armor rather than show them. But that was before the late-night disappearances, before the quiet footsteps across your floorboards, before youâd wake up in a cold bed at 3 a.m. to find him gone.
It didnât happen all at once. It was gradualâso gradual you could almost convince yourself you were imagining it. One night turned into two. Two turned into a week. And before long, you couldnât ignore it anymore.
The first time you tried to confront him, you did it gently. Youâd asked him if everything was okay, masking your concern with casual curiosity. "You seem really tired lately, Eggsy. Is work being a pain?"
Eggsy had smiled, all teeth and dimples, and said, "Nah, luv. Just gotta lot on my plate, sâall."
You believed him because you wanted to.
But then there were the bruises.
The first one you noticed was along his jaw, faint and shadowed under the soft light of your kitchen. Heâd winced when you kissed him there, just a tiny twitch of his lips, but enough to make you pull back. "You alright?" youâd asked.
Eggsy had waved you off. "Yeah, yeah, fine."
"Fine."
The word had felt too tight on his tongue, too forced. But youâd let it go because thatâs what you did when someone you loved was hurting. You gave them space.
Except the bruises kept coming, each one a little harder to miss than the last. The faint cut above his brow, the stiffness in his shoulders when you hugged him, the way heâd flinchâjust barelyâwhen your fingers brushed against his ribs. And you noticed. Of course, you did. How could you not?
There was the other stuff, too. The sudden shift in his wardrobe. Gone were the trainers and bomber jackets, replaced with sharp suits and polished shoes. Heâd started wearing glassesâridiculous little round things that didnât even have a prescriptionâand he carried himself differently now. Straighter. More serious. It wasnât that you didnât like the change. You did. Eggsy looked good in a suit, and youâd told him as much. But it was the why that lingered in the back of your mind.
Everything about him was changing, and yet you were still supposed to believe he was fine.
You werenât stupid.
And so tonight, when youâd felt him slip out of bed yet again, something inside you had snapped. Enough was enough.
You stayed awake, feigning sleep as you listened to him shuffle around the room. You heard the soft clink of his belt buckle, the muted sound of a zipper, and then the quiet groan he let out as he bent to tie his shoes. He was trying to be quiet, but you could feel his movements, his tension, the exhaustion radiating off of him like smoke.
The front door closed behind him.
For a moment, you thought about following him. Your mind painted a dozen possibilitiesânone of them goodâand the urge to know was almost overwhelming. But something held you back. Maybe it was fear. Maybe it was the sick feeling that if you saw what Eggsy was hiding, you wouldnât be able to unsee it.
So, instead, you stayed. You waited.
And you waited.
Hours slipped by, the quiet hum of the room punctuated only by the ticking of the clock and the occasional thump of your restless heartbeat. You sat in the darkness, curled up on the couch with nothing but your thoughts to keep you company.
It was almost dawn when you heard itâthe sound of keys fumbling at the door.
Your breath caught as the door swung open, and there he was. Eggsy. Exhausted, disheveled, and dragging himself inside like heâd just run a marathon. He tripped over the shoes youâd left by the door, letting out a hushed curse as he stumbled and caught himself on the wall. "For fuckâs sakeâŚ"
You watched him for a long moment, your heart twisting. His shoulders were slumped, his face pale under the bruises, and there was an air of defeat clinging to him that youâd never seen before.
Your hand hovered over the lamp beside you.
Click.
Light flooded the room.
Eggsy froze. His wide, tired eyes met yours, and for a second, neither of you said anything.
"âŚWhere were you?"
Your voice came out steadyâcolder than you intendedâbut you didnât care. You needed answers.
Eggsy straightened up, wincing slightly as he did, and ran a hand through his messy hair. "Whatâre you doinâ awake?"
"Where were you, Eggsy?" you repeated, softer this time.
He opened his mouth to answer, but you saw the hesitation in his eyes. That flicker of guilt, of indecision. And it hurt.
You watched himâreally watched himâtake in the situation, his gaze darting from you to the lamp and back again. He looked so tired, the dark circles under his eyes stark against the pale exhaustion in his face. His bottom lip pulled tight between his teeth, and for a fleeting moment, you thought he might lie to you.
He always did that when he was nervous, chewing his lip like he was trying to hold the words inside.
And then he sighed.
"Look, luvâ"
"No." You cut him off, surprising even yourself with the sharpness in your voice. Your heart was pounding now, a steady thud in your chest, and you swallowed the knot rising in your throat. "Donât 'look, love' me, Eggsy. Iâve given you space. Iâve ignored the bruises. Iâve let youâwhatever this isâcarry on without question. But not anymore."
Eggsyâs mouth closed. He shifted on his feet, his wince almost imperceptible, but you caught it. You always caught it.
"Are you hurt?" you asked, voice trembling slightly despite the resolve you tried to hold. Your eyes dropped to the faint, bloodied scrape on his knuckles and the stiff way he held his side. "Jesus, EggsyâŚ"
"Iâm fine." The words came out fastâtoo fastâand though they were meant to be firm, they only sounded hollow.
You flinched like the word was a slap. "Youâre not fine."
He sighed again, this time deeper, and rubbed a hand over his face. "Itâs complicated."
"Complicated?" you echoed, your voice pitching with disbelief. "Complicated is when you forget an anniversary or donât know how to split rent. This isnât complicated, Eggsyâthis is you sneaking out in the middle of the night and coming home bruised and battered, and Iâm scared."
There it was. The confession youâd been holding back. The thing that had been gnawing at you for weeks, clawing at your chest every time he slipped away. Your voice broke slightly, the words tumbling out like a dam had burst, and Eggsyâs face softened in a way that almost broke you.
You could see the guilt then, raw and unguarded, etched into the lines of his expression. He took a cautious step forward, but you held up a hand, needing the space to breathe.
"Do youâŚ" Your voice faltered. You didnât want to say itâdidnât want to voice the fear that had whispered in your mind during the loneliest hours of those nights. âDo you not trust me, Eggsy? Is there something you canât tell me?â
Eggsyâs head snapped up at that, his brow knitting as if youâd insulted him. "What? No. No, itâs not like that."
"Then what is it?" Your voice cracked, and for the first time since this all started, you felt your eyes sting with tears. "Because Iâm running out of scenarios, Eggsy. I thought maybe⌠maybe it was someone else, maybe youâd stopped loving me. But then Iâd see the bruises, and Iâd hear you groaning in your sleep, andâŚ" You trailed off, pressing a hand to your forehead. "I canât keep pretending everythingâs fine when youâre falling apart right in front of me."
The room was silent save for your quiet, unsteady breaths. For a moment, you thought Eggsy wouldnât answer, that heâd slip into that shell of his again and leave you stranded in this mess of unanswered questions.
But he didnât.
Instead, he crossed the room in two quick strides, cupped your face in his hands, and kissed you.
It wasnât a soft kissânot like the ones heâd give you after long days or lazy mornings. It was desperate and grounding, like he needed to make sure you were real and that you still loved him despite everything. You froze for half a second, caught off guard by the sudden warmth of his lips on yours before you melted into it. Your hands gripped his wrists, holding onto him like an anchor as your heart hammered against your ribcage.
When he finally pulled away, you stared at him, breathless and reeling.
"Eggsyâ"
"Iâm sorry," he muttered, his forehead resting gently against yours. "I didnât⌠I didnât mean to make you think that. Any of that." His voice was low and earnest, the accent softening as the words spilled out. "Youâre the only good thing in my life, alright? The only thing that keeps me goinâ. It ainât youâitâs me. Iâm just⌠Iâm tryinâ to keep you safe."
"Safe?" Your brows furrowed as you leaned back to look at him. "Safe from what, Eggsy?"
He hesitated. You could see the war playing out in his eyesâthe push and pull of wanting to tell you the truth but still trying to protect you from it. He was holding something back; you knew that much. Something big.
Finally, he exhaled slowly. "Itâs work. The bruises, the nightsâI canât tell you everything, but you gotta trust me when I say Iâm doinâ it for you. For us."
"EggsyâŚ"
His thumb brushed along your cheek, and you realized then that you were cryingâjust a little.
"Youâre right," he admitted softly, the words heavy with guilt. "I shoulda told you somethinâ. Not everythinâ, but⌠somethinâ. I just didnât want you to worry, love. Didnât want you to see this part oâ me." He smiled faintly, the corners of his lips tilting upward. "You deserve better than this mess."
You stared at him, the boy who had somehow become a man without you noticing. His rough edges were still thereâstill scrappy, still stubbornâbut there was something more now, too. He carried weight on his shoulders, weight he hadnât let you see until tonight.
"I donât care about the mess," you whispered, your hands sliding down to hold his. "I care about you. And if youâre hurting, I want to know. I want to help."
Eggsy blinked at you like he wasnât sure he deserved to hear that. Then he pulled you into his arms, wrapping you up tightly as if trying to shield you from the rest of the world.
"Youâre mental, you know that?" he mumbled into your hair, his voice thick with emotion. "Too good for me, you are."
Eggsy was warm against you, his arms solid and grounding, but you couldnât let yourself melt into itânot entirely. Not when you could still feel the lingering tremor in his body, the careful way he was holding you like he was afraid of falling apart completely if he let go.
So you didnât let it slide. Not this time.
You pulled back slightly, enough to look at him, your hands sliding to rest against his chest. He avoided your eyes for a beat too long, gaze flicking toward the floor as if the answers to all of your questions were scattered across the floorboards.
"Eggsy," you said softly, forcing him to look at you. "Youâre doing it again."
His brows furrowed slightly. "Doinâ what?"
"Avoiding." You swallowed hard, your voice gentle but firm. "You keep saying youâre trying to protect me, but from what? From you? From whatever it is youâve gotten yourself into? I canât keep pretending Iâm okay with half-truths and cryptic excuses."
He didnât answer. His jaw clenched, his lips pressing into a tight line as the silence stretched between you like a taut wire. You watched him, the Eggsy you knewâthe one who laughed too loudly, who lit up rooms with his smileâhidden behind this new, heavier version of himself. A man weighed down by secrets you werenât allowed to touch.
You felt your throat tighten. "If youâre in trouble, I need to know."
"Iâm notâ"
"Gary." You said his name softly, but with enough weight that he stopped, his shoulders sagging just a little under your gaze. You could see the walls going back up, the way his expression started to close off again, and your heart ached. This wasnât about control. It wasnât about digging into things he didnât want to share. This was about himâthe man you loved. The man standing in front of you with bruises and exhaustion, painting him in shades of worry and pain you didnât recognize.
"I love you," you whispered, the words breaking through the quiet. His head snapped up, his eyes finally locking onto yours. "I love you, Eggsy. But thisâ" you gestured gently between the two of you "âthis isnât fair. You donât get to shoulder all of this alone. Not when Iâm right here."
You could see the cracks in his resolve then, the guilt splintering through his expression like fractures in glass. Eggsy exhaled, a heavy breath that deflated his entire posture, and he reached up to cup your cheek again, his thumb brushing faintly at the tears still lingering there.
"It ainât trouble," he muttered after a long pause, his voice low and rough like gravel. "Not like youâre thinkinâ. I ainât into anythinâ shady, I swear."
"Then what is it?" you asked softly. "Please, Eggsy. Iâm not leaving. Iâm not running. I just need to know whatâs doing this to you."
He hesitated again, clearly grappling with something you couldnât see. For the briefest moment, you thought he might tell youâmight rip off the Band-Aid and let you into whatever world heâd been keeping you out of. But then, as if on instinct, he sighed and shook his head, pressing a lingering kiss to your forehead before resting his own against it again.
"You donât wanna know, luv," he murmured, voice so soft it nearly disappeared into the space between you. "I promise you donât."
You stared at him, your heart twisting painfully. You could feel it nowâthe invisible door he was trying to close, to lock between youâand the worst part was, you knew he thought he was doing the right thing. He thought he was protecting you.
But all you felt was the sting of being shut out.
"This isnât fair," you said again, your voice trembling slightly. "You donât get to decide what I can and canât handle, Eggsy."
His lips parted slightly, and for once, he didnât have a rebuttal. He just looked at youâreally looked at youâas if weighing the woman in front of him against whatever dark reality heâd been hiding.
"I can handle it," you pressed, your voice steady this time. "Whatever it is, I can handle it. I can handle you."
Eggsy pulled back slightly, his hands slipping to your shoulders. There was a flicker of conflict in his eyes, and for the first time that night, you saw a hint of vulnerability beneath the surface. "It ainât about you not beinâ strong enough," he said finally, his words slow and deliberate. "Itâs about me not wantinâ you to see the worst parts of what I do."
"What you do?" you repeated carefully, and you saw him flinchâjust barelyâlike heâd said too much.
"Eggsy, I donâtâŚ"
He let out a bitter laugh, running a hand through his messy hair. "Jesus Christ, Iâm shite at this."
Your eyes searched his. Part of you wanted to press furtherâto keep pushing until the dam brokeâbut the other part could see his exhaustion, the way he was leaning slightly against the counter like his legs were struggling to hold him up. He looked so tired. So defeated. And you hated it.
You let out a soft sigh, taking his hand and lacing your fingers through his.
He stiffened.
For a moment, neither of you spoke. There was a question lingering between you, the same one you knew he was struggling to answer.
Tell her.
Don't.
It felt like an eternity had passed when you finally said his name, squeezing his hand gently.
His gaze lifted to yours.
And you let it go.
You didn't push. You didn't demand. You didn't ask. Because this wasn't a fight, you were going to win.
He wasn't ready.
So, instead, you just said, "Promise me something."
"Yeah?"
You hesitated, the words feeling heavier on your tongue than they had any right to be. You swallowed the lump rising in your throat and whispered, "Promise me youâll come home."
Eggsy stilled.
It wasn't much of a requestâmore of a desperate hope that this wasn't all leading to some unavoidable ending you weren't ready for. It was an offer of surrender. A silent, exhausted plea to put the pieces back together, to stitch up the cracks before they could break.
He studied you, his tired eyes roaming over the lines of your face as if he could read the question lingering there.
And then he pulled you into his arms, a hand cradling the back of your head. You felt the warmth of his embrace, the weight of his body against yours, and your arms wrapped around him as tightly as you could. For a second, you werenât sure if he would answer. If he even could.
And then, in the softest voice you'd ever heard, he whispered, "Always."
"For you, always."

WC: 4,186

One word to describe Italy is 'breathtaking,' and that couldn't be more true than it was when you walked through the streets of Rome upon your first day there. Everything about Italy seemed so picturesque and beautiful. But you didn't have time to walk around and enjoy the scenery - no matter how much you would have loved to do so - you were on your mission. After the incident in the bookstore in New York, you were determined to get that file back from Eggsy.
"He's been spotted entering his hotel. Hotel Da Vinci." Your boss spoke to you over your earpiece as you sat in the middle of your large hotel bed. That was actually really nice; you might have to invest in a better mattress when you got home. "A message will come to you shortly with the information, along with the address to the gala he is going to be attending tonight."
Pausing, your hand hovering over your paperwork. "Gala?" You knew Eggsy loved to dance, but still. "Why is he going to a gala?" You asked, picking up the couple of pictures you had of Eggsy in various locations back from when you were tailing him in New York.
"He's meeting someone by the name of Alexandra Winslet. We doubt that is her real name, but that's all the information that we got on her."
"A name and a face is all I need." You spoke up, eyes flickering to your phone as a notification popped up. Picking up your phone from beside you on the bed, you unlock it before tapping your messages, slowly scanning the few pictures and documents that you were sent. Stopping at the picture of the supposed Alexandra Winslet, you hummed, tilting your head to the side. "Purple," You muttered, your eyes immediately going to her hair, which was short, cut to just below her chin; in a shade of violet purple. One thing was for sure, you'd have an easy time spotting her in a crowd. Scrolling further, you stopped at the picture of a mansion, surrounded by a fancy iron gate. "I am assuming that this mansion is where the gala is going to be held?"
You watched as the message bubbles popped up before you were sent the address, "Yes," Your boss then spoke, "It's a black-and-white event. Make sure to keep within the dress code. And get that file back. I donât want any other issues to arise."
Shutting your phone off, you leaned back against the plush, satin headboard, "Sure thing, boss," You sighed, rubbing your forehead with a hand, you kept your hand there as you shut your eyes, "Is there anything else I need to know?"
"Weâll keep you updated." The line went dead.
Huffing, you opened your eyes, blinking as you checked your watch on your wrist. "Well," You muttered to yourself, clicking off your earpiece as you shuffled off the bed, trying not to crumple any of your paperwork and pictures as you did so. "Time to go shopping, I guess."
And so, you found yourself in Milan, which was the same city where the gala was going to be held. Milan was such a lovely place, full of rich, dazzling architecture, just like the rest of the country; it was also quite famous for fashion, especially among wealthy business people and high society alike. And before you knew it, your small shopping spree was finished. With two large bags looped on your arms, you made your way to your rental, and back to your hotel.
Entering your hotel room, you quickly shut the door, locking it before you sped to the bed and placed your bags down. They weren't hurting your arms with their weight, no, but it was what was inside that was important: your dress. Sliding out the white, paper box, you spied the brand name on the top lid, written in black, curvy font. Carefully, you pulled off the lid, feeling a small rush of adrenaline fill your system as you sat the lid to the side, your eyes zoned in on the black folded dress before you.Â
Biting your lip, you tried to hide the large grin that was about to spread on your face as you gently took the fabric into your hands. Without a second thought, and seeing that you were right on time, you began to get ready for the gala.
It was around four once you finished getting ready, dressed to the nines and a hint of excitement ran through you. Staring at yourself in the full-length mirror near the bathroom, you turned every which way, your lips curled upward, feeling completely gorgeous. The dress was all-black, the sleeves were off-the-shoulder, the maxi skirt just brushed the floor, and it was made out of the softest velvet that you have ever felt in your entire life. Once you saw the dress on one of the mannequin models, you knew that you had to have it. Brushing your hands down the skirt, you gave yourself one last look; honestly loving the way your red, painted lips stood out amongst the black.
Turning to the bed, you pulled your message bag over, opened the flap, and pulled out a small, wooden rectangular box. You paused, eyes softening as you opened the box's lid, revealing a simple, gold necklace with a single pendant hanging from it. You smiled softly as you gazed at it, remembering the night that he had given it to you. Turning to the mirror once more, you carefully unclasped the necklace, sliding it around your neck before fastening the clasp behind your neck. As you stared at yourself, you started to wonder what he would think. Would he like it? You bit your lip as your fingers grazed over the gold surface, only to shake your head; you shouldn't be thinking like that. It shouldn't even matter what Eggsy thinks. This was a mission. This was your job, your life. You didn't have time for romance or flirtatious games. Not this time around.
Taking a deep breath, you forced yourself to turn away from the reflection and looked around your hotel room for your shoes. Finding the box of brand-new gold heels near the door of the bed, you picked up one of them and slipped it onto your foot before slipping on the other heel. Standing straight, you looked into your mirror again, fiddling with your hair before you felt your mind slipping back to him. Growing frustrated with yourself, you glared at your reflection.
"Get the file and leave." You spoke, voice stern, "Don't fall for his tricks again... You don't have time for it. You're on a mission, remember?" You muttered to yourself. You shook your head. You could hear his laughter in your ears, see that grin on his face, that glimmer in his eyes... You gritted your teeth. Closing your eyes tight, you inhaled sharply before opening them, pushing those thoughts away. Raising your hand, you turned on your earpiece with two soft taps, "Sir, I'm ready."
~~~
Pulling up to the mansion, you leaned over slightly to look at it through the front view window. You had done a bit of research on the large home before arriving. Villa Mondadori, an Art Nouveau building. Designed by architect Steno Sioli Legnani for the textile entrepreneur Pasquale Crespi in 1897, it consisted of fifteen bedrooms, fifteen bathrooms, various large lounges, and a spa area with a complete gym, cinema room, bar, and terraces. At the small tap on your passenger window, you snapped out of your daze, your eyes landing on what you assumed to be the valet parking attendant.
Stepping out of your car, you handed the valet the keys, giving the young man a polite smile and nod before looking up at the building as you walked up the three steps. The building was three stories, the first level's exterior was almost an ivory color, while the second and third levels were a sort of cream color. What you loved the most were the large windows, large enough to let in all the natural light. You tried to pay no mind to the two guards at the door, walking towards them, holding yourself high and confidently.
"Ciao," You gave them both a charming smile, hoping that either of them would just let you in, as you had planned.
The one guard to your left was tall, well past six feet, and with trimmed blonde hair that was combed to the side. The guard to your right was a bit shorter than his guard partner, though still taller than you, and was far less intimidating, but you took note of his piercing blue eyes and the way his black hair was buzzed close to the scalp. Both men stared at you, observing and analyzing you as their eyes narrowed and their mouths pursed. Before you could ask them if they were going to allow you entrance into the house, the guard on the left cleared his throat, "Buona sera," He said, his eyes slowly looking at you up and down.
You expertly hid your distaste as you replied politely, "SĂŹ, buona sera." You glanced at each of them, expectantly, and finally, they moved aside, allowing you entry into the house. The hallway that led straight ahead was lined with doors, all decorated with lavish designs and intricate woodwork carved into the frames. There were paintings of beautiful landscapes hung along the walls, some of which were covered by black and white, silky drapes. Fit for the gala's theme, you admired it.
Following the live classical music that was echoing throughout the halls, you found yourself in the main room, watching as couples danced together in what you presumed was the living room they converted into a ball-like room. You took a moment to admire the room around you, eyeing the grand, crystal chandelier that hung down, and the large windows that surrounded the room. Taking another glance at your surroundings, your eyes landed on a bar lounge on the far right wall, admiring the beautifully detailed painted ceiling, depicting the Renaissance era. The room was lit up brightly, making the room feel warm and inviting, and you couldn't help but let a small sigh escape your lips; it really was quite beautiful, even though you weren't there to enjoy the party, you were here for that file. That you hoped to god Eggsy brought with him somehow.
Moving with a certain grace, you made your way to the bar, finding a nice place to stand and watch the couples dancing the night away to the live violin, cello, and piano concertos playing from a stage further away from where you were standing. It was a quick dance, the couples stepping closer together as they spun circles around the room; dresses fluttered around their legs. Their movements captivated you.
"What are you doing here?" A voice spoke up, and the corner of your lips lifted when you heard it. Leaning on the counter behind you, you rested your elbows against it as you turned your head to meet Eggsy's confused and astounded gaze.
"Can't a girl go out and have fun?" You asked, smiling coyly as you turned around the face the bar, Eggsy turned with you, his body facing you, his eyes staring at the side of your face; his expression turned from bewildered to something unknown.
As you signaled the bartender, Eggsy finally spoke up once more. "I wasn't aware that you were invited..." His tone lightened some.
"Neither was I." You responded simply as the bartender walked over to you. "Martini. Asciutto." You requested before looking back over at Eggsy coyly. "I sort of just... Invited myself." Smirking slightly, you waited patiently as the bartender prepared your drink. When the bartender was about to give you the drink, you took the drink. Turning to face Eggsy, you kept your eyes on his as you took a sip. You watched as his eyes followed the movement of your mouth, as he swallowed his own drink. Shrugging casually, you looked back up at Eggsy.
"Well now," Eggsy sat down his glass, "Let's not get straight to business. Isn't the view wonderful?" Your eyes roamed around the room, taking in the scenery before you turned your gaze back to the man beside you.
"Quite wonderful," You answered, "You clean up well, Eggsy." You teased, leaning forward slightly.
Eggsy's eyes flashed, a smirk forming across his lips, "You look stunning, as usual, love." His eyes scanned over your form, slowly, drinking you in, "Do you care to dance?" He asked, chuckling softly as he took another sip of his drink.
"Dance?" You replied, taking a sip of your martini as well. Dancing with him couldn't hurt. It would give you an excuse to get closer to him, for the file... Yeah, for the file. He might have it in his inside jacket pocket. Coming quickly with your conclusion, you nodded, setting down your drink and offering your hand. "Just one, Eggsy. And then we talk."
"Whatever you want, love," He spoke, taking your hand in his and leading you to the dance floor, and what timing... The band had begun to play a slow song.
Pulling you close, and with one hand in yours, Eggsy put his other hand on your waist, as you put your extra hand on his shoulder. To the music the both of you swayed, moving from side to side, Eggsy keeping his eyes on you the entire time, as you gazed into his. It was nice, the atmosphere, but the unsaid tension was still there.
"Agent, does he have the file?" You heard over your earpiece, making you huff as you took your hand off of his shoulder to turn off your earpiece.
Eggsy tilted his head slightly, his eyes shining with slight amusement at your annoyed expression before they softened once more, his eyes landing on the necklace that lay around your neck. Without a word, he reached out and lightly brushed his thumb across the surface of the smooth, gold pendant. Your skin tingled as his thumb caressed the top of the necklace gently, his eyes remained glued to the necklace. "I remember that night." He muttered, finally allowing his eyes to stray from the necklace to your eyes. "We were after the same person, back in-"
"Back in Japan. I know." You pursed your lips, looking at him intently, trying your best to keep a calm composure as the memories resurfaced in your mind once more.
Dance, grab, and go. Dance, grab, and go.Â
Eggsy mimicked you, pursing his own lips as he stared right back at you. He was studying you. From all the times you and he found each other during overlapping missions - which was quite a few over the years - he knew that you were hiding something. Something deep within. But what? He liked to think that he could read you pretty easily, but even though he had known you for more than four years, you were still a mystery to him. You could be a very good actor if need be. You could hide anything. Hell, there were so many secrets behind those gorgeous eyes of yours. And that's what made you so good at your job, Eggsy thought. You concealed yourself, you didn't let anyone see you; but, there were always traces, tiny cracks, or hints that would show themselves to whomever was looking close enough. Eggsy thought he was lucky enough to see some of those cracks.
Eggsy suddenly realized how close the two of you were standing, with his hand on your waist, pulling you close to him, for a soft sway of a dance. He couldn't help but let himself enjoy this moment, enjoying the way your body felt pressed against his, the warmth that radiated from your skin onto his; seeping, warming his bones, and filling his veins with electricity. The way his pulse pounded in his ears as he stared at your lips, imagining pressing his own against them. He wanted to kiss you. Not just because he wanted to; no. It was more than that. It was a craving, a burning desire he had been fighting since day one of meeting you. Every time he saw you, his heart skipped a beat and butterflies filled his stomach whenever your eyes met - even though he hated how cliche that all sounded in his head - he swore that he was getting addicted to you - he was addicted to you - his whole world became completely focused on you. It was insane. The longing.
If only, in a perfect world, the both of you could go off the grid, away from the espionage and the lies, and just be together. Away from the stress, the fear, the uncertainty. Just be together. But, Eggsy loved working as a spy. It was what his father did before him, and it gave Eggsy a new meaning of life⌠If Harry hadnât found him, he probably wouldâve still been outsmarting his motherâs abusive boyfriend by now. But you⌠If you had asked him to quit⌠Heâd quit for you.Â
Licking his lips, Eggsy spoke up, "I didn't think you'd keep it." You frowned, slightly, "Your necklace, I mean." He added quickly, his fingers twitching as he tightened his hold on your waist.
"Why wouldn't I keep it?" You raised a brow, "It's cute."
Eggsy chuckled, a grin reappearing back on his face, feeling the slightly awkward tension lifting, "I told you I have great taste.â He then continued, âNow, you never answered my question, love."
"As to why I'm here?" You continued with your response, raising a brow as your hand slid down from his shoulder to rest on his chest. You almost let out a small laugh, biting your bottom lip to stop the smile that was threatening to come out. A wave of fulfillment washed over you, and you felt like a weight had disappeared off of your shoulders. The file, the one that you were looking for, was in his breast pocket. You could tell from just the slightest of pressure that he carefully folded it all to fit into the pocket. "I'm here for that file that you stole from me."
Eggsy chuckled, shaking his head lightly, though you could see what you thought was disappointment in his eyes. "And here I thought you just wanted to see me."
"Who says I didn't also come here to see you?" You smiled, your hand sliding back up to place itself on his shoulder.
"Really, love?" Eggsy asked, raising an eyebrow as he stared at you, trying to discern if you were lying or if this was just some ploy to let his guard down, or possibly trick him into giving you the file... Which he would not do. He'd do anything for you, but giving you the file was not one of them.
You glanced away at the band, "Who's Alexandra Winselt?" You suddenly asked, bringing your voice down into a soft murmur, your eyes once more locking on his.Â
"Jealous much, Y/N?" He joked, causing you to roll your eyes before answering him,
"Annoying much, Eggsy?"
Even though it didn't match up well with how slow the song was, Eggsy spun you out before spinning you back in - the hem of your dress swirling around you - before dipping you; your leg instinctively went up against the side of his torso, making him hold your thigh tightly with one hand, while the other was secured around your waist. Looking down at you, it wasn't obvious what he was thinking about, which made it all the more intriguing. And although the music was still playing, you felt the silence in the air.
He pulled you back up slowly, and for a moment, a slight moment, you thought he was going to kiss you. There was this... This look in his eyes was warm - You felt your heart swell - you couldn't figure out if this look he was giving you was new, or if he had ever looked at you like that before. You didn't think he looked at you like that before... Maybe it was in Rio, or Japan the year before, or maybe even in Canada the year before that... Maybe it was in London, where you first met. You were sure, but that look, it was something else.
Dance.
"Eggsy..." You spoke up, cutting the thick tension like a knife through butter, your voice no higher than a whisper - angelic in his ears; you almost felt as if you didn't even say anything, but you were certain Eggsy heard you.Â
You felt an overwhelming urge to lean up and kiss him, but instead, you held yourself back from doing so. The moment lasted only for a second but it seemed like hours as Eggsy kept staring into your eyes, trying to determine whether or not to let his desires take control. If only he knew how strong the pull was between the two of you; it was like the gravity between the two of you grew and multiplied, as if you two were drawn to each other by magnets. You both stood, in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by other dancers as the music faded and a more upbeat classical song began.Â
âY/NâŚâ Eggsy raised his hand, tucking a few stray hairs behind your hair, his movements almost trance-like.
And then he was leaning in, and so were you. Eyes heavy-lidded, you felt his hot breath against your face, his nose nudging yours, your lips just brushing his. But you paused, just a hair away from your lips on his, you... You couldnât do it. Sighing deeply, you shut your eyes fully, your mind and heart fighting against one another as Eggsy opened his eyes, blinking rapidly; confused.Â
Grab.
"I'm sorry, Eggsy... I can't do this." You slowly pulled back, unable to look him in the eye, but knowing that his lips were turned into an incredibly perplexed, yet somewhat sad frown. With a hesitant touch, you flatted his lapels before continuing, "I already got what I needed." You then quickly pulled away from him, his arms dropping from your waist as you hurried out of the room, and out of the extravagant mansion.
⌠And go.
You harshly bit your bottom lip, the back of your eyes burning with unshed tears as you lightly sniffled and sped to your car, blindly and expertly grabbing the keys from the valet attendant. You didn't waste your time speeding out of the lot, and down the road before tapping on the radio. You turned up the volume, your eyes blurring slightly as you drove back to your hotel. You needed to get out of the country, and fast. God, feelings, you hated them. They just complicated everything, and they always hurt. You tried so hard to not fall for him, but every single time he walked into the room, every single time he made your cheeks flush, every single time his eyes met yours and he got that little smile on his face, everything inside of you melted like ice cream on a hot summer day. How was he able to make you feel like this? You had to get out of the country.
Eggsy stood, in the middle of the dancefloor, without you, and though he looked sort of odd standing there all by himself, staring at the floor in a sort of faraway expression on his face, he didn't care. He never really cared about what people thought about him. He felt heartbroken... It was the best word he could think of. Both heartbroken and confused. Why did you leave like that? He was pretty sure that if he left right now, he could have followed you. He wanted to, but... He knew that it wouldn't have worked. You were too independent, and too stubborn - it was two of the many things he loved about you. You had to come to your own conclusions. And he was sure that you had done that. He just wasn't the answer.Â
Sighing, Eggsy took a deep breath in and out, his shoulders drooping as he gathered his composure. But he froze once more, feeling his shoulders stiffen again and his eyes widened slightly as he took in a sharp breath. 'I already got what I needed...' Eggsy replayed your words over and over again in his head and he recognized those words. They were the same words he said to you after he grabbed the file from you in New York at that bookstore. His hand snapped up to his right breast pocket. Opening his jacket, he huffed, defeated, dropping his hands to his side. The file was gone. Though, through the heartache, he let a small, fond - and definitely impressed - smile spread onto his face. Yet again, you managed to surprise him. He sighed heavily, running a hand down his face before heading to the bar. He needed a drink.
masterlist (one, two, three)
The first time I met Taron was on the red carpet for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and it did not go as well as I had wished it wouldâve.
I had seen the first movie in theaters when it came out and immediately developed a crush on Eggsy, and, in turn, on his actor Taron. When dad was offered a cameo in the sequel, I think I was more excited than he was. I begged dad basically every day to let me go to set with him, but I was in college at the time and neither of my dads would let me miss that much time to travel just to meet my celebrity crush. It felt unfair at the time, but they had a point in the long run.
When the day of the premiere came around, dad took me as his plus one to the red carpet. I was buzzing with excitement the entire day as dadâs stylists came in to help us get ready for the night, but the minute our ride pulled up to the red carpet my excitement turned to nervousness. There was no reason for me to be so nervous. I had been to huge events like this before, and of course I had met famous people plenty of times. But there was something about meeting my actual celebrity crush that made me feel like a high schooler who was about to go on her first date.
Dad introduced me to Taron, because of course he did. Fatherhood never changed who dad was, and he was shithead, cocky, lived to tease everyone in his life Elton John. I always knew it was a bad idea to tell dad about my crush on Taron, but I never regretted it more than when I heard him shout across the red carpet, âTaron, darling, come here!â
He looked like the most handsome man in the entire world dressed in his suit, his smile lighting up his face as he approached us. That moment was when I realized he was real. He wasnât just a character on my screen; he was an actual real person. And now he was stood in front of me. So close that I could smell his cologne, and boy, did it ever smell good.
âTaron, I want you to meet my daughter (Y/N),â dad said, gesturing to me. I was still in such awe by his beauty that I almost forgot who I even was.
âItâs nice to finally meet you, (Y/N),â Taron said as he shook my hand. âElton has spoke very highly of you.â
My brain was definitely short circuiting. Hearing him say my name was one thing, but then for him to also say that heâs heard a lot about me from dad also contributed to it. When I realized I was just stood there staring at him like an idiot, I felt embarrassment wash over me. I tried to force myself to say something, but it was like I completely forgot how to speak English.
âSheâs a little shy because she has a crush on you.â
I turned to look at dad in disbelief. If there was a higher power, They would do me a favor and open up the floor to swallow me whole and take me away from this entire situation.
I made my escape before Taron could say anything. I turned away from the two of them and walked away as quickly as possible.
The memory haunted my nightmares for a while afterwards. Even after I managed to forget about it for the most part, the intrusive thought would pop into my mind from time to time just to make me cringe. I could barley ever watch Taronâs movies anymore without thinking about that moment, which was hard since I still had such a big crush on him.
A year later, I was on set with dad and papa for the movie papa was producing about dad. Papa was so excited, as he was making the movie as a gift to dad. Papa had complete creative freedom and dad was able to give as much input as he wanted. When filming started, the two of them wanted to bring me, Zachary, and Elijah on set to watch some of the filming. They hadnât told me much about the movie just yet, but papaâs excitement was contagious enough that I was feeling it, too.
âWeâre filming the Troubadour scene today,â papa was telling us. âFull 70s aesthetic. You guys are gonna feel like you were really there to see your dadâs first ever solo performance.â
âDo I get any 70s outfits once you guys are done filming?â I asked.
âDarling, you know we have a closet full of all my favorite outfits from those days,â dad said. âYouâre free to go through it as you please. Itâll be the real deal, not some cheaply made replicas.â
âHey! Youâre the one who approved of Taronâs wardrobe!â papa said with a chuckle.
The mention of his name made me stop in my tracks. âWait...whose wardrobe?â
Both of them looked at me, confused by my reaction. âTaron, honey,â papa said. âThatâs whoâs playing dad in the movie. You didnât know that?â
Memories from the year before came rushing back. I could not see him again or else I may just turn into an embarrassment puddle at his feet. I especially couldnât be here with dad and have a potential repeat of the situation.
As if reading my thoughts, dad walked up to me and gently took my hand in his. âHoney, itâs been a year. Heâs not going to remember.â
âBut what if he does?â I asked. âGod, he probably thinks Iâm crazy after our first encounter. I canât watch the filming.â
âHey, hey, calm down sweetheart,â papa said. âYouâre working yourself up. Itâs okay. If you feel uncomfortable you donât have to watch, but I donât think itâll be as bad as youâre expecting.â
I took a couple deep breaths to calm myself down. I wanted to be there and support both of my dads on this project they were both so excited over. I knew they were right and Taron likely didnât even remember our first encounter, but I still couldnât shake this pre-embarrassment feeling about seeing him again.
I sucked it up and followed them to the Troubadour set. There were many extras dressed in 70s clothes standing around the stage. The general murmur of the crowd turned into an excited one as people began to notice dad walking onto the set. I couldnât see Taron anywhere, but I did recognize Richard Madden talking to the movieâs director, Dex Fletcher. Zachary was tightly holding my hand, trying to hide behind me. I knew the crowd was likely making him nervous, so I squeezed his hand and picked him up.
âLead actor walking the set!â
I felt my body tense as everyone turned to see Taron taking the stage. He was wearing a pair of white overalls and a navy blue shirt with silver stars. He had on a wig that looked like dadâs hair from this time period and a pair of thick framed glasses that matched his overalls. He looked really good, even if he was dressed as my dad.
It took my brain a moment to register that he was walking towards us. I felt the panic return, but I tried my best to play it cool.
âItâs like looking in a mirror,â dad said as he embraced Taron. âI still have this outfit Iâm pretty sure. I was just telling (Y/N) that I still have all my favorite outfits back home going all the way back to this very first performance.â
At the mention of my name, Taronâs eyes landed on me. I tried not to crumple under his gaze, and kept the smile on my face.
âHey,â Taron said. âGood to see you again.â
âGood to see you, too,â I said, surprisingly myself with how confident i sounded.
âWho is this little guy?â Taron asked, referring to Zachary. The young boy buried his face in my neck, peaking one eye up at Taron.
âThis is Zachary,â I said. âZ, this is Taron. Doesnât he look like daddy?â
Taron struck a pose for Zachary, who seemed to warm up slightly but not a lot.
âWhat do you think, Elijah?â papa asked the youngest boy. âDo you think Taron looks like daddy?â
Elijah shook his head. âDaddy is old!â
We burst out into laughter as dad gave Elijah a mocked offended look. Elijah squealed as dad picked him up and began tickling his sides. Zachary was still a bit hesitant, but I could feel his body shaking as he chuckled in my arms.
âCome on, Rocket Man, we gotta start filming,â Dex called to Taron.
Taron made his way onto the set stage. Quiet was called and a hush fell over the room. The minute Dex called action, music filled the silence. One of dadâs songs, his least favorite yet one of his most popular ones, began to play. Except it wasnât dad singing it, it was Taronâs voice. I was a little shocked to hear him singing instead of there being a backing track of dadâs music, but I had to admit he was an amazing singer. It was a fantastic choice they made. His singing voice was amazing and it made the movie have more of a fantastical musical vibe, instead of just a movie with dadâs voice dubbed over for the music.
I tried to get Zachary out of his shell more by dancing with him while the music was playing. We were not strangers to dadâs music. The three of us had seen dad perform on numerous occasions. I figured the familiarity of the music, plus the goofy dancing would definitely help with his nervousness. And I was right for the most part; Zachary came out of his nervous cocoon eventually and started dancing with me. By the time Dex called cut on the scene, Zachary felt comfortable enough to be put back down on to the floor and followed dad and papa to meet Jamie Bell, who was playing Uncle Bernie.
âSeems he enjoyed the show.â
I jumped at the sound of Taronâs voice so suddenly. He was laughing at my reaction as I turned back to him, my heart beating a million beats per second just having him so close to me.
âI think he just needed some time to warm up to being around so many people,â I said. âUsually when we go to dadâs shows weâre in a special VIP area where itâs just the three of us and papa, so heâs not used to so many people and so much attention being on him.â
âI get that. Heâs only young. Doesnât fully understand how well loved his dad is.â
âI donât think I even fully understand it, and Iâm in my mid 20s,â I said.
Taron chuckled and I couldnât help but smile too. The realization of his realness was starting to wash over me again. He was actually here, stood in front of me, talking to me. He was a real person!
âListen,â Taron said, âI wanted to talk about the first time we met.â
I felt my heart drop to my stomach. I tried not to let my embarrassment show too much. Maybe if I pretended I didnât even remember, we could just move on from the entire situation and pretend like it never happened.
âIâm sorry it went the way that it did,â he continued. âI know you were embarrassed about what your dad said. I know Elton meant no harm, and he was just trying to tease you because...well, heâs Elton John, but it really wasnât fair of him to say that to me when we were first meeting. I could tell by your face that that wasnât exactly the way you wanted our first meeting to go.â
I was a little surprised by what he was saying. I donât know why I was expecting for him to say something that would make the situation worse, like maybe calling me out on my crush and saying something about it. He seemed like a really nice guy, not the type to make someone feel bad. But I guess, after having an entire year to let that embarrassing moment stew, I just expected the worst if I ever met him again.
âI appreciate you saying that,â I said. âIt definitely was not the way I wanted to meet the guy I had such a big crush on. I think dad expects stuff like that to wash over me like water off a duckâs back because of who he is and how many famous people Iâve met and am close to, but his status never makes those types of interactions easier. Again, especially when meeting someone that I was crushing so hard on.â
Taron was giving me a look that I wasnât sure how to read at first. âWas?â
My brows furrowed together. âHmm?â
âYou said âsomeone I was crushing onâ. As in youâre not anymore?â
I wasnât sure why that was the part he was focusing on. I opened my mouth to respond, but Dex called to Taron again. Taron looked at me and winked behind the thick framed glasses before making his way back to set to start filming again. And it was with that wink that I could not handle anymore and finally had to sit myself down.
~~~~~~
I kept coming to set the next few weeks. At first it was only one day out of the week for a couple of hours, but soon enough I was tagging along with dad and papa every day. I tried to tell them it was because I was enjoying watching the movie being filmed, and getting to relive these big moments with dad, but they both knew that wasnât the truth. They knew I was going because I wanted to see Taron.
We had gotten to talking a lot in between takes when I was on set. About everything and anything really. It started with just getting to know each other, but eventually it blossomed into talking about whatever was on our minds. Sometimes it was about the movie, sometimes it wasnât. Either way, we just got to know one another. And eventually, my âcelebrity crushâ became a real one.
I knew my dads could see what was going on, but they didnât bring it up. I figured that was mostly because of how my first interaction with Taron went and dad didnât want to risk embarrassing me like that again. Which, I did appreciate. I felt like a friendship was being built with Taron and I didnât want that to be risked with fatherly embarrassment to the extreme, even though I knew that wasnât dadâs intentions.
One day, we walked on set and I was surprised to see Taron was nowhere in sight. Instead, we walked into a setup that looked like great grandma Ivyâs apartment that I had seen in plenty of dadâs baby pictures. There were three different actors than normal on set, one I recognized as Bryce Dallas Howard and one young boy I recognized to be dressed up the way dad had been when he was that age. I realized pretty quickly that today was probably mostly shooting scenes of flashbacks from dadâs childhood, which caused me to feel disappointed realizing that I likely wouldnât be seeing Taron today.
I was sat in my usual seat (because yes, I had visited so often that I was given a seat with my name on it) watching the set up for the scene when dad came over and sat next to me, dramatically sighing as his body settled into the chair.
âThese old bones can hardly sit down anymore,â he said.
I smiled at him. âOh, please. Youâre hardly that old, dad. Besides, we both know that after everything youâve gone through, youâre going to outlive us all.â
âA man can only hope.â We laughed together. Dad put an arm around my shoulder and leaned into me. âTaronâs in his trailer, you know.â
âOh?â I said, hoping I didnât seem as excited by this information as I was. âHeâs filming later on then?â
âYeah, way later on this evening. David said that Taron showed up way earlier than he needed to claiming that he thought his call time was this morning, not this evening.â I raised an eyebrow at him, silently telling him to say whatever it was he was trying to say. âI donât think that was the case, though.â
âClearly.â
âI think he came here early hoping to see you.â
I scoffed and rolled my eyes. âI think youâre being a little ambitious there dad.â
âAbout as ambitious as I would be to say that you show up every day so you can see him, too?â When I didnât respond to that, dad just laughed. âI see things, (Y/N). My eyes may be old, but they can still see things that no one else sees.â
âAnd what is it that you see with me and Taron?â
âI see a young man who is enamored by a young woman, and a young woman who feels the same way. I also see two cowards who are too afraid to confess their feelings to one another.â
I playfully nudged him with my elbow, to which he dramatically clutched his stomach and acted like I had shot him or something.
âIâm not saying that Taron feels anything for me,â I said, âbecause I donât think he does. I think heâs just being friendly with someone that he considers to be a friend. But, if what youâre saying is right and he does have romantic interest in me, maybe the reason why he wonât admit it is because heâs too afraid to? I mean, my dad is Elton John after all. Thatâs a pretty big name to have as a potential father-in-law.â
âHey now, I didnât say anything about marrying you off to the man.â I smiled and shook my head. This really was just an every day thing with dad. He loved being a father, but I think he loved being a nuisance more than that. Papa always warned him he would regret that when Zachary, Elijah, and I started to pick up on his habits. âBut both of you know that Taron has my approval if he does want to pursue you romantically. If he didnât, he wouldnât have even been cast in this movie!â
âYou cast him because heâs a good actor!â
âOh, that was only part of it. The other part was so that you two could have a do-over with your meeting, since I ruined the last one.â
I put my head on dadâs shoulder. âYou didnât ruin it. You just embarrassed me beyond belief, but thatâs what a father does.â
Dad gave me a small squeeze before pulling me away from him. âGo to his trailer. Have a few moments alone.â
âGive you a few grandkids?â
He pushed me away, which caused me to laugh hysterically.
âDarling, I may be old but I am certainly not that old,â he said. âAnd, again, I said I approve of him. Not that you two need to get married and pop out babies right away. Go on a few dates first, for the love of God.â
I stood from my chair, still laughing. Dad tried to glare at me, but he couldnât. This was just our relationship.
I made my way out of the set before they started filming so that I wouldnât be disrupting anything. All the trailers were grouped together in the lot, luckily with signs on them to label what or whose trailer they were. Taronâs was the furthest on the lot, with a theatrical gold star stuck to the door with his name on it. Part of me figured this was dadâs doing, but the other part of me would believe that it was Dexâs doing, too. Papa truly couldnât have chosen a better director to capture dadâs personality and aesthetic than Dex.
My heart was pounding so loud that I thought Taron would hear it before I even knocked. I took a deep breath and pushed myself to knock before I got too nervous and ran away instead. There was a brief rustling in the trailer before the door opened, revealing Taron in a pair of black and gold hot pants, a gold jacket that was left unzipped so I could see his entire torso and chest, and heeled shoes with gold tips and gold wings on the side. I wasnât sure where to look first. My eyes naturally lingered on his chest, his coarse chest hair a welcoming sight, but I couldnât help but glance lower at his thighs in those hot pants, too. Not to mention the bulge -
âShit,â Taron breathed, a panicked look in his eyes. âSorry, uh, I didnât expect...I thought it mightâve been someone from the set. Iâm just...uh...â
âIn costume, I would assume,â I said, trying to pretend like I was looking at his shoes and not another area lower on his body.
âYeah,â he said. His face was starting to turn bright read. âItâs for a scene later on...way later on. Iâm - I was early today, so they already put me through costume and makeup.â He cleared his throat and ran his hands through his hair. âDo you, um, do you want to come in?â
I nodded, unsure if I could even form any words. He stepped aside to let me into his trailer. He still looked flustered by my sudden appearance, which I thought was cute.
âDonât be sorry, by the way,â I told him. âI donât mind this eye full that Iâm getting. Quite the opposite, really.â
That only made him more flustered, and I couldnât help but smirk at that reaction.
âYouâre a lot like your dad,â he commented. âHe said something similar while we were filming Kingsman a few years ago.â
âWe Furnish-Johns have good taste in men.â
I sat down on the couch of his trailer and he sat across from me. I tried not to be too obvious with my gawking, but it was hard not to look at him. God, was he ever attractive. And here he was, sat next to me, practically naked, and all flustered because I had caught him this way. I felt like I should be feeling a similar way, but knowing that I was the one who had made him feel that way just made me feel so cocky instead.
âI didnât think you were on set today,â I told him. âI showed up and didnât see you or Jamie or Richard.â
âWeâre filming a couple smaller scenes later on to end the day. Dex wanted to film all of the flashback shots of your dad before he was Elton John today, just to get that out of the way.â
âYou got here really early for that. Itâs not even noon, and your scenes are this evening papa said.â
Taron shrugged. âI got the wrong call time.â
I raised an eyebrow at him. âBy over 12 hours?â
He shrugged again, but didnât offer any further explanation.
I took a deep breath, once again willing that cockiness to stay long enough so that I could say what I wanted to say without losing my nerve. âRemember the first day on set where we talked about the first time we met, and you made a point of asking me about my crush on you.â
Taron nodded. âYeah. You made it seem like you didnât feel that way anymore.â
âYeah, I did. Because I thought I would scare you away if I admitted that I did still like you that way.â I was moving towards him now, closing the already smaller space between us. âThat I do still like you that way, if you get what Iâm saying.â
We were so close that I could feel the heat radiating from his body. He was looking down at me in a way that I could only ever dream of having Taron Egerton look at me like. It was like the movies I had seen him in, except this was real life and the person he was looking at was actually me.
âI think I understand,â he said. âBut just in case, is it okay if I do an experiment just to be sure?â
I giggled. âYeah, thatâs okay.â
He placed a finger under my chin and tilted my head back until I was looking up at him. He leaned forward at an agonizing pace before his lips finally pressed against mine. It felt like the entire world around us paused in that moment. I had to restrain myself from getting onto his lap and deepening the kiss, even though I wanted to so badly. I wanted to spend the next few hours in this trailer with him, not even letting him leave to go film. I wanted to be tangled up with him and never let him go ever again.
The kiss ended far too soon. When Taron pulled away, I tried to chase his lips to pull him back to me. He chuckled at my eagerness, allowing his lips to press against mine for a quick peck.
âLet me take you out before we get too hot and heavy,â he told me. âI want to take you on a proper date.â
âI guess we should do that before I jump your bones,â I teased. âBut you do still have quite some time till your call time. If youâd like company while you wait, I wouldnât mind staying here with you for a while. Especially if youâre going to be dressed like that the whole time.â
Taronâs face turned red again as he looked down at himself, almost like he forgot what he had been wearing. âMight be too tempting for you.â
âIt definitely will be. But I will respect your virtue and not try to deflower you in your trailer.â
He buried his face in his hands. âOh my God! What have I gotten myself into here?â
âSomething pretty great, if you ask me.â

OMG OMG OMG OMG OKAY IMREALLY EXCITED NOW!!! HERE WE GO BINGO: Dark Fic with Jimmy Keene with "Oh my darling girl, I have to mark you -- I need to show everyone who you belong to."
For the quick description I was thinking maybe Jimmy's girl is the type of girl that always turns heads and attracts ppl so one time when they're out (could be a party/bar/club) and Jimmy sees some guy talking to the reader and laughing then he gets jealous and yknow...đŠ gets all possessive and shows her she's his

đŠ[main masterlist]đŞ đŠ[request/ask me something!]đŞ đŠ[updated bingo card!]đŞ đŠ[bingo masterlist]đŞ đŠ[join the bingo taglist!]đŞ
đŠâĄđŞ CHARACTER - Jimmy Keene x Fem! Girlfriend! Reader
đŠâĄđŞ TYPE - fluff, smut
đŠâĄđŞ WORD COUNT - 2.8K
đŠâĄđŞ SUMMARY - Everyone knew you were Jimmyâs girl, everyone. It didnât stop them from trying to steal you away, though, not that it ever worked. Besides, tonight was the opening of a new club, you both might as well give everyone something to look at - right?
đŠâĄđŞ STORY WARNINGS - in this, I am only writing Jimmy as a rich boy who runs with the wrong crowd. The only reason I am attracted to this man is because of Taron Egerton and nothing else, and it is not set in the universe as Black Bird but the character of Jimmy Keene as Taron Egerton. || I do not remember the names of his friends, so I made them up- || cursing and foul language || sub! reader || girly reader || reader wears makeup and exposing clothing || kinda whiny reader || definitely a dom/sub dynamic || breeding kink || raw sex || multiple rounds || multiple orgasms ||
âWhat about this for tonight?â
James had been watching you come in and out of your walk-in closet for hours, trying on dozens of different outfits that all did the same thing â to show off your amazing body. He didnât care what you wore, you would walk in under his arm tonight and no matter how many people looked and ogled, you were his.
âItâs nice.â He was way too focused trying to control his dick rather than pay attention to what heâd say about your outfits.
You looked beautiful in all of them, he didnât care what you wore because in all honesty, itâd be off in a matter of seconds. His friend was opening a new club downtown, and it was the grand opening, so of course you had to go all out.
âFor fucks sake, James, youâve been saying the exact same thing for every outfit! You know what, how about I just donât go, huh?! Nothing in my closet seems to satisfy you, bastard!â You sobbed, stomping into the closet and slamming the door.
âFuck- Y/N!â He was quick to stand, fixing his cock as he tried to open the door, the lock making him groan. âY/N, honey, let me in!â
âNo! I donât want to see you!â Your voice was muffled, but he could hear your sobs. Oh you were so over dramatic, but he loved it.
James groaned, leaning his head on the door. âBaby, come on! I think all of them were really nice!â
âYeah, I know! Thatâs all you were saying, I donât want to look nice, I want to look perfect, hot, amazing- anything other than just nice!â You sobbed even louder, wailing as you pressed your face into your hands.
Why was he so short? Why did he keep saying the same damn things over and over again? For fucks sake, he couldâve said something else besides, âItâs niceâ for every single damn outfit!
âOh baby, I didnât mean it like that! Come on, how about I buy you a new outfit, hm? Iâll take you to that shop you love so much, does that sound good?â He could hear your sobs pause, smiling. You always loved it whenever he took you shopping, this would be no different.
You whimper, his smile widening. âAs many outfits as I want?â
He laughed, nodding. âAs many as you want.â
âAnd some lingerie?â
âHow could I forget the lingerie, baby?â
âAnd perfume?â
You were going to make him go broke, but he didnât care. Not when everything he was about to splurge on was for you.
âHow about two perfumes?â
He didnât even notice the door opening, quickly catching himself before he fell and you ran into his chest with a loud sob. âDonât ever tell me I look just nice again!â
James laughed, nodding as he stroked your cheeks. âWhatever you say, my love. Do you want to wear that to the store?â
You paused, looking down at your black dress that was way too short but James loved, a smile on his lips as you bent your leg back, looking down at the bottom of your Louboutins. âYes.â
It makes him laugh again as you walk out, your strut perfectly swinging your hips from side to side before you stop and look back. âAre you coming?â
âYes maâam.â
He followed you out the door of your shared room, stepping over the mess of clothes you had made trying to figure out outfits, smiling as you reached back and grabbed his hand. âIâm hungry. Get me some food too?â
âWhatever you want, baby. From the food court or the way back?â It was a simple question, but you pouted like it was the biggest decision on earth.
âI donât know. They have that really good place at the food court, but Iâve been craving that restaurant too⌠Can we decide later?â You lead him down the stairs making James nod, smiling.
He could never stop smiling around you, it was impossible. âYou just tell me what you want me to do, baby, Iâll pick up whatever you want.â
âHow about both?â
âIf thatâs what you want.â
âThatâs what I want! Now come on, we have to go!â You giggled as you pulled him out the door, groaning as you tried to tug on his hand to get him to go faster as he locked the door. âCome on, Jimmy!â
It didnât take you both to get to the shopping center, James lounging on one of the expensive futons while you changed in the dressing room. âJimmy, are you ready?!â
âYes, love!â He sits up, smiling as you walk out of the dressing room onto the platform, the entire dressing room like your own personal runway.
You walked down toward him, showing off the black dress that he was sure you had just tried on earlier back home. âDarling, as beautiful as you looked, didnât you just try that one?â
You started giggling, nodding. âYou passed the test! I wanted to make sure you were paying attention.â
âHow could I not when your tits look so good in that dress baby?â He begins to stand, already walking toward you before you pressed a foot to his chest.
âBehave, James, Iâm not done with my fashion show. I still have to find an outfit for tonight.â You giggled, pressing your foot against his chest to push him back into the futon. âIâm thinking red.â
âOh, I donât care what color it is, as long as I can take it off of you quickly.â He winked up at you, watching as you giggled and strutted back into the dressing room. âStill love that dress, baby!â
In the end, you did settle on a red dress, and he loved it. Oh, he loved it.
As soon as the both of you walked into the club, he squeezed your ass firmly and pressed a kiss to your temple. You were already swaying your hips to the music, giggling as you looked around at the strippers on the pole like how you were looking around at the clothing store.
âOh, theyâre so pretty! James, do you have some bills?â You looked over at him making him nod, not even looking at the women. He was sure they were beautiful, but no one compared to how pretty you were. So instead, he watched as he handed you a lot more hundred dollar bills than he expected and watched as you giggled. âThank you, baby! I love you!â
âI love you too, darling.â He pressed a firm kiss to your temple and watched as you ran off to join your friends. He slipped through the crowds easily, quickly going up to the main pavilion where everyone was, quickly getting a drink and sitting right on the edge where he watched you throw money â both his and your own â at the very pretty dancers before being dragged to the dance floor with your friends.
He smiled, already taking a sip of his drink before Shawn sat down next to him, letting out a loud cheer that made you look up. He could practically hear your giggle as you waved up at him, James softly kissing his hand as you smiled widely before starting to dance again.
âOh for fucks sake, Jimmy, youâre fucking whipped.â
James rolls his eyes in annoyance, scoffing. âYeah, Iâd rather be whipped than be getting STDs-â
âOi, keep it down!â Shawn laughs, leaning over as he takes the next two drinks offered by a server. âWant a drink?â
âIâm good.â James raises his own, shrugging. He didnât trust Shawn enough to take a drink from him, even if he invited him to the opening. âCan you blame me though? Look at her.â
He watched as you threw your head back, mouth open as you laughed and smoothed down the sides of your dress. Your friends were dancing with each other, one behind you before someone tugged you away making James shoot up.
âHey, calm down!â Shawn laughs, looking up at James. âThatâs Kingsley, man, you know him. Heâs a trust fund kid. You canât do shit to him.â
âFucking watch me.â
James was already basically running down the stairs, shoving past everyone to get to where you were, yelling at the guy to keep his hands off of you.
âHey, donât you fucking hear her?! Get your hands off!â James shoved him, pulling you behind him not even a minute afterwards as Kingsley stumbled. âGet your fucking hands off my girl, you fucking bastard.â
âOh, hey Jimmy,â Kingsley laughed, pushing his hair back. âDidnât know this was your girl, sheâs prettier than the last time I saw her. You donât know the meaning of sharing, Keene, come on- fuck!â
Jimmy really couldnât have been happier when searing-hot pain developed from his knuckles, watching as Kingsley fell back and you yelped loudly. âJimmy-!â
âCome on,â Jamese grabbed your hand, pulling you back toward the private rooms as you gasped. âCome on, baby, letâs go.â
âWhere are we going? Jimmy, what if someone calls the cops-â
âYou think I care about some cops?â James walked into the first room with no âDo Not Disturbâ sign, pulling you into the room with a smile. âGonna make sure everyone in the club knows your mine.â
You whimpered as he easily lifted you up, hands holding your ass that was basically falling out of your dress, your hot cunt grinding against his cock as the two of you fell back against the bed. He laughed, his hands groping the fat of your ass as he fixed himself.
âFuck, darling, youâre already so desperate. What, were you getting wet on the dance floor?â He could feel the wet patch developing on his slacks, hands shaping your thighs as you roll your hips against nothing.
âN-No, no of course not!â It was embarrassing how wet you got just from him punching Kingsley, but it was so fucking hot.
âSo when did you get this wet, hm baby? Tell me.â His thick fingers slide up and down your slit, his open mouth sucking and biting against your neck, your mind already blurring as you bucked into his digits.
You werenât even able to speak at this point, whimpering loudly with his fingers the only thing on your mind. Why hadnât he pushed them in yet, why wasnât he fucking you?
âYou think youâre still stretched out from last night?â
Well for fucks sake, you were about to find out.
He merely pulled your underwear to the side, his mouth never stopping its assault on your neck, continuing to bite and lick and suck marks all over your skin. Your body was hot, hips bucking uncontrollably as his thumb starts to rub firmly against your clit and his cock slides up and down your slit.
âY-Your⌠youâve already covered my entire neck, J-James, it hurts,â you whisper, gasping as his hot tongue delicately trails over the hickies and bite marks as he slammed his hips forward. It makes your vision go white, a gasp falling from your lips as he groans loudly. âJ-Jimmy!â
âOh my darling girl, I have to mark you â I need to show everyone who you belong to. So that no mother fucker like that ever gets near you again, so everyone knows youâre mine.â He basically growled against your skin, his hips rolling slightly to get his cock deeper inside of you, his balls sliding against the bottom of your cunt, smearing your arousal. âMaybe I should do some more things to make sure everyone knows youâre mine.â
âWhat, like putting a baby in me?â Your voice was strong now, your hands rubbing against his chest as you slipped open his shirt by undoing the buttons. âYou want to have kids while being a drug lord?â
âAnd Iâll spoil that kid fucking rotten,â he whispered, nuzzling his nose against yours as he sighed. âIâll spoil you and that kid fuckinâ rotten. Just give me the word and Iâll give you that baby.â
âY-Yes,â you whisper, ducking down to press a kiss against that mole on his neck. âYes baby, yes. Give me that baby, get me pregnant.â
That was all he needed to pull out of you before slamming back in, just that one thrust making your mind blur and a loud moan fall from your lips, your first orgasm of the night coming quicker than you thought it would. âF-Fuck Jimmy!â
âDid you-â he paused, staring down at your cunt as he felt you clench around him, over and over again as your hips rutted upwards into his own. âDid you just cum?â
âI-I did, I did, please be gentle-!â You couldnât even finish your sentence before he flipped you easily onto your stomach, straddling your lower thighs as he held the back of your head, thrusting into you from behind. He was humping against your butt, the pubes on his pelvis rubbing against the globe of your ass as he held your hips to help you stay kneeling upward for him. âFuck, James!â
âCome on baby, I havenât even cum once and you're already so sensitive? Fuck, youâre always so desperate for me darling, so fucking desperate for me,â he groaned against your shoulder, his other hand that wasnât holding your hip going up to intertwine with your own. âHow would I not get you pregnant, baby? What would keep you from not getting pregnant from the amount of times Iâm about to cum in you?â
His large hand held your hips, his pointer and middle finger rubbing against your swollen clit, his dirty words making your stomach twist. Or maybe it was the amount of times his tip was ramming into your cervix, his cock fucking you like a fleshlight. You could feel sparks running up your back, his hot breath fanning against your skin making everything just feel so much more.
You could feel every stutter of his hips, every sharp breath he took as he groaned against your skin, the sharp thrust that finally concluded his first climax of the night. It wasnât like he was done yet, though, gently settling your body against the bed and slipping a pillow under your body to help support you.
You could feel the soft material of the pillow case against your puffy clit, your hands digging into the bed as he hoisted your red, two piece dress higher up your body and stared at the movements he made your body do. He watched your knuckles turn white as you gripped onto the sheets, your body bouncing with every thrust as he moved both hands to intertwine his fingers through yours.
âFuck baby, Iâm going to cum inside of you so much, itâs going to leave a damn bulge. Thereâs no fuckinâ way you wonât get pregnant after this.â He groaned against your skin, gasping as your cunt fluttered around his shaft.
Were you going to cum again? You had felt your stomach tighten so many times, so many fucking times, which orgasm was this? How many times had you cum around his cock?
âF-Fuck!â You screamed out as he thrusted forward, groaning as he rutted against your ass, the both of you cumming at the same time for the first time that night, even though it certainly wouldnât be the last.
He groaned against your skin as he kissed up your neck to your ear, humming softly. âIâm going to cum inside of you so much that when you walk out of this club, my cumâs going to run down your thighs. Does that sound nice baby?â
âY-Yes, fuck, yes.â
âGood fucking girl.â
omg, I love fulfilling requests âĄ

i really like taron egerton out of the bulk of actors that came out of the 2015-2020 era, he just made a few massive tentpole movies and then went cheers that and seems to have since then done mostly smaller-budget character acting work and found reasons to hang out with everyone he in turn is a massive fan of and buying his mum a house and otherwise staying out of the public eye, and im like. yeah. that's what i'd expect to be the best outcome from having had the opportunities he did in art that genuinely came from initially wowing the older industry professionals: make enough money to be able to choose any project you want, chill out in between, meet a bunch of other cool artists, support your mum
and he's very very good at his job also
#that man had the tiniest taste of fame and went no im going back to wales unless im working fuck that#and i can respect that#taron egerton#he'd be great to see onstage i think#kingsman was a great time for me -- met mimi changed my life wrote a years long rpg began to write fanfic and dip my toe in fandom#outside of simply lurking

Walk With Me.
Pairing Taron Egerton x Reader
Words 3620
Warnings I think the only curse word is the first one! There's some flirting, some angst and cute moments in between! There's also a lot of time jumping but it's easy to keep up so don't worry!
"Shit." You quietly whispered to yourself as you accidentally stepped straight into a large puddle. Shaking the water off from your shoe, you noticed that Riley was none the wiser. She was happily running along in the long grass, searching out every scent that she could trace.Â
You slowly walked over to where Riley had dropped her ball and picked it up, calling her over to throw it again.
Just as the ball left your fingers, you noticed another person in the park with you. It was a man. He was quite a distance away from you, but you could see that he was standing still, staring into the nearby trees. A small, tan dog was running around his feet, but he remained still in thought.
Riley bounded back to your feet, retrieving the ball and looking up at you to throw it again. You tore your eyes away from the stranger and walked further into the park, throwing the ball ahead of you.
______________________________________________________________
Your sunglasses dimmed the bright afternoon sunshine and you could feel the warm grass brushing against your sandal-clad feet. The warner weather made your daily walks with Riley much more bare-able and you gladly took a longer route on days like today.
You were almost back to your usual spot in the park when a figure in your peripheral vision caught your attention. It was the man from a few weeks earlier. He was closer than before though, you could see his hazel green eyes creasing as he smiled, watching his own dog play with a ball. Â
Riley noticed also, and without a second of hesitation, ran over to greet them.
"Riley!" You called after her, making your way across the grass.
"She's okay, mine's friendly." The man shouted as you got closer.
He was right. Looking down you saw Riley and his dog sniffing and running around each other, jumping as their tails wagged in unison.
"Sorry, I just get nervous sometimes. She's still a puppy and you never know with strange dogs."
He looked up at you, "So, you're saying that my dog is strange?"
Your mouth dropped open, "Oh God no! No! That's not what I meant, I-"
His mouth curved into a smile and his eyes softened, "Relax! I'm joking!"
You exhaled and your shoulders relaxed as you smiled back at him.
"I know what you mean. I've had a few scary moments. Nelly just wants to play...some dogs don't like that, she has a lot of energy!"
You glanced back down at Riley, who was stood still now, looking in the direction of the park gates. There was an awkward pause.
âCome on, Riley.â You waved your hand away and turned on your heels.
"See you around." The man said, smiling and raising his eyebrows.
______________________________________________________________
Your bright, floral summer dress waved in the breeze as some strands of hair fell down to frame your face. You smiled and looked down at the ground as you tucked some hair behind your ear.
He was walking towards you, with Nelly in tow. You'd thought about him occasionally since you last saw him, and you found yourself glancing over your outfit in the hopes that you looked good enough.
"Hello again!"
"Hi." You smiled.
Riley looked up at the man approaching her and gladly wagged her tail as he knelt down to stroke her, "I'm Taron..." He glanced over to his own dog, "...and you've already met Nelly."
You smiled again, "I'm Y/N...and I think you've made a new best friend in Riley." You looked down at she was jumping up at him, "She likes you."
He looked up at you and reciprocated your smile. "Cute."
"Yeah, she is."
"I wasn't talking about Riley."
Your mouth opened slightly, and you took a short breath. Your lips curled into a grin and he stood up slowly.
"It's a beautiful day." He looked up towards the sun, "We could walk together?"
You looked around to find Riley, who was becoming properly acquainted with Nelly. Pushing more hair out of your face from the gentle summer wind, you dropped your sunglasses down from the top of your head, "Sure."
There was a short but not uncomfortable silence as you both walked through the park, the gentle breeze making the trees hush.
âSo, have you just moved to the area?â You said, hoping not to sound too intrusive.
He swallowed and cleared his throat, âYeah, just last week.â
âI thought so, I just hadnât seen you around?â You justified your question, âYou know, you get to know the faces in the park.â
âAre you here every day then?â He asked and you swore you could hear hope in his voice.
Nodding your head, you bent down to collect Rileyâs ball, âYeah, pretty much. She has so much energy that she needs to burn off!â
âI can see that!â He said, laughing as her tiny legs moved at an impressive speed, âI bet she keeps you on your toes?â
âSomething like that.â
Another short silence. You both watched as Nelly and Riley were running around, finding smells together and enjoying the summer wind. You broke your gaze from the dogs to sneak a glance at Taron, noticing his kind but piercing eyes and the faint creases in his skin. His chin was speckled with short hairs that covered his sharp jawline. He was undoubtably handsome but there seemed to be a softness to him, something that made you even more intrigued.
âSo, what do you do for fun around here?â He said, slightly kicking his feet as he walked.
âErmâŚit depends what you would consider fun?â You responded in a more flirtatious way than you intended.
He picked up on your tone by flicking his eyebrows upwards quickly, âIâm up for anything, me.â
You breathed a laugh, âThereâs some good restaurants, and thereâs a street not far from here with some amazing little independent shops. They stock my favourite hand poured candles.â
âAww, I love candles!â He said, his voice rising in pitch, âI always try to have one burning.â
âMe too!â Your hand rested on your chest, âYouâll absolutely have to go!â
âMaybe I will.â
âThereâs tons of live music too, pretty every pub has a band on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.â
He leaned in a little closer, âSeems Iâve got a pretty good tour guide here.â
Your cheeks flushed and you smiled before leaning down to throw Rileyâs ball, grateful for the curtain of hair hiding your pink face.
âMaybe, I could get your number and we could hang out? You could show me around the town?â
You straightened up and blinked a few times, âUhâŚyeah sure! Sounds good to me.â
Taron glanced at the fork in the path as he reached into his pocket, âIâm gunna head up this way but Iâll text you?â
Your mouth stretched into a grin as you carefully typed your number into his phone, checking that it was correct before handing it back to him, his fingers gently brushing against yours.
âIâll see you around?â
You gently nodded your head as you watched him turn out of the park, your eyes seemingly fixated on the space where he once was. You were quickly broken from your trance when Riley barked up at you, ready for another chase.
______________________________________________________________
The cool air whipped around your face, but you were pleased for the breeze. The fever that was burning through your body was intolerable, along with the stomach-churning sickness that came with it. You weren't unwell though; this was all self-inflicted from countless glasses of wine from the night before.Â
You watched Riley as she gladly ran in amongst the grass, nose close to the ground, unaware of how much you craved your sofa.
The evening had started out as a quiet drink with some friends from work but soon spiralled into cocktails and dancing. You grasped at your head as you started to remember fuzzy memories that your brain was trying to push forward in your mind, along with a thumping that wouldn't let up.
"Good morning sunshine!"
A bright voice forced you to turn around, "Taron!" Your eyes narrowed as more memories came flooding back, "Oh my God, I saw you last night!"
"Yeah, you were pretty wasted!" He laughed gently as he unclipped Nelly from her leash, "How are you feeling?"
"As bad as I look."
He shrugged, "Nah, you look pretty good...considering."
You would've blushed, if it weren't for the red haze that was covering your cheeks already. You pushed some hair away from your face as you squinted your eyes at him, "I didn't do anything embarrassing, did I?"
He laughed and started to walk with you, following your dogs, "I wouldn't say that but..."
Your face fell, "Oh God, what? I'm so sorry! What did I do?"
He laughed again, "You don't need to apologise! But you need to thank me."
You lowered your eyebrows in confusion.
"It was around 2am when you decided that it would be a great idea to do shots of vodka while dancing on the bar."
You dropped your head and groaned.
"But I stopped you and insisted that I walked you home."
"You...you walked me home?"Â
He kicked some pebbles on the ground, "Yeah. We live really close to each other. Plus, you were a mess by that point, I had to be a gentleman."
You gently brought your hand to his arm, "Thank you. Really, thank you. And you're wrong...I do need to apologise. I know I'm bad when I'm drunk."
He put his hand on top of yours, "Seriously, don't worry about it. I just wanted to make sure you were safe."
You felt your heart leap as your hands touched, but you weren't sure if it was from the contact or from the hangover. His hand dropped and he placed it in his hoodie pocket. You did the same and took in a deep breath of fresh air.
The path you were walking split off into two directions and Taron started turning left as you slowed down.
"Are you going up to the top today?" Taron pointed his finger towards the path that lead to an area of the park that was lined with wildflowers.
You felt a rumble in the pit of your stomach and the heat in your body rose a few degrees in temperature.
"Erm, actually..." You knelt down slowly to put Riley's leash back on, "I'm probably going to go back." You clutched at your stomach.
His eyebrows lowered, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah...I'm fine. I just-" You hurried backwards, nausea coming in waves, "-I just have to go." You quickly said before turning and rushing back towards your house.
______________________________________________________________
Riley was practically dragging you into the park, pulling your arm holding onto the leash that was attached to her collar. She could see Taron and Nelly further into the gates and you couldn't keep up with her pace. The leash slipped from your fingers and Riley ran ahead, bounding towards them.
"Riley!" You yelled out, making Taron's head turn in your direction.
He smiled and kneeled down to collect the leash, letting Nelly greet her canine friend, "She's just too excited to see me!"
You laughed, "Clearly!"
"Or is this all a cover up for the fact that it was you who wanted to see me?" He nudged your arm once you arrived his side.
"Oh, haha." You said, unenthusiastically, "Don't flatter yourself, Egerton."
"You're not denying it." He raised an eyebrow.
You shook your head.Â
He was right, though. Every time you took Riley for her daily walks, you secretly hoped that you'd bump into him. Since you had last seen him, you had been messaging each other online, usually until the early hours of the morning, throwing banter back and forth. You talked about your shared tastes in music and movies, he'd send you the occasional message with a new song that he'd found that he thought you might like, or a line from the book that he was currently reading. He would occasionally send you funny Welsh words and their translations and tag you in memes almost every day. His messages made you smile and you as each day went by, you thought more and more about him.Â
You looked up to him, "By the way, that playlist that you sent me this morning...oh my God!"
His face was animated, "I know right?! That third song is getting played at my wedding!"
A shiver ran down your spine and you silently wondered if he was currently engaged and a wedding was imminent. You blinked and quickly changed the subject.
"I must admit, I do look forward to your daily messages."
His face changed into a small smile, that grew as he threw his arm around your shoulder, walking with you along the path, "Well, itâs a good job I intend to carry on sending them then, isnât it?â
______________________________________________________________
There was something that you loved about autumn. Something about the colours and the idea that nature was preparing for winter that held you in intrigue. You watched over the park that you were familiar with in awe, watching the leaves that had fallen from the trees turn to a warm hue of orange, when you saw something else familiar.
Taron was sat on a bench further down the path with his back to you, headphones on and hunched over what was probably his phone.
You walked closer, Riley following you in excitement at seeing Nelly, and poked a finger in his back when you got to him. He pulled his headphones down and twisted around to face you.
His face lit up, "Oh! I was just texting you!"
Your hand ghosted over your pocket where your phone was, "Were you?"
"Yeah!" He put his phone away, "I was just seeing if you were out walking Riley."
Riley jumped at Taron's knees and he stroked her, scratching his fingers into her head. He looked back to you as you sat down next to him.
"How've you been?" He squinted his eyes, shielding his face from the glare of the sun.
You pushed some hair behind your ear, "I'm good, and you?"
"Yeah, I actually wanted to-" He was interrupted by his phone that was in his hand springing into life. He glanced at the screen and his eyes narrowed with an emotion that you couldn't detect, "-hold that thought. I have to get this."
You smiled and nodded, looking over to where Riley and Nelly were, watching them run around each other.
"Hey...yeah." He paused and lowered his head looking down at his feet, shuffling them awkwardly, "...what time do you get in? Okay cool...sure. No...no that's fine." He glanced quickly to you and you caught his gaze for a couple of seconds, "Okay, call me when you get to- yeah...you too."
You looked away, not wanting to seem intrusive to his conversation. He pocketed his phone and rose to his feet.
"We'll have to cut this walk short I'm afraid." He looked over to Nelly and whistled to gain her attention.
"Oh, no problem." You smiled, "You got something to do?" You scolded yourself slightly for prying.
"Erm yeah, kind of." He scratched the back of his neck nervously as Nelly came running back to him, "My friends is visiting, she's-well she's my girlfriend. She's working away and she's back for a few days."
Your stomach dropped to your feet. He had a girlfriend, of course he did. He was funny and intelligent, not to mention exceptionally handsome. You had no idea why you were disappointed. Sure, there was friendly flirting between the pair of you but nothing had ever gone any further. That's all it was, friendly.
"Oh...right." You tried your hardest not to let the disappointment flood your face, but you were sure you had failed in your attempts.
Taron bent down to attach Nelly to her leash as you exhaled away your emotions, biting at your bottom lip. Your eyebrows raised as you caught his gaze again.
"I'll...see you around I suppose."
"Yeah, see you around, Taron."
You watched as he walked away. Your stomach knotted as you studied his body language. You had never known him to deflate so much, everything about him had disappeared. His smile seemed forced for some reason, but you pushed the thought to the back of your mind. Taking a breath, you walked further into the park, letting the gentle breeze cool your skin.
______________________________________________________________
You checked your phone for what felt like the hundredth time that day. It had been almost a week with no contact from Taron at all. Figuring he was busy with his girlfriend, you put your phone back into your pocket and carried on walking with Riley.
You missed him. You missed his morning messages and whenever he got excited about a new pair of sunglasses that he had just bought or a new candle that he loved the smell of. You missed the walks you sometimes shared with your dogs and how completely at ease you felt around him. You missed how he would sometimes lean closer to you when he was talking. You missed the way he would look at you.
But you were just friends, right?
______________________________________________________________
"Taron?" You called out to him.Â
He was stood in the large open area of the park, staring down into the grass. He didn't reply, nor did he seem to notice you were even there.
"Hey...Taron?"Â
His head raised slowly, and his eyes refocused onto you, "Oh...hey."
You frowned when you noticed how exhausted he looked. His cheek dimples always seemed to be present but they were nowhere to be seen. His hair was messier than usual and there was no smile on his lips when he looked at you.
"Taron...are you okay?" You couldn't hide your concern.
He cleared his throat and looked back down at the grass, "Yeah...I'm fine." He blinked his bleary eyes.
As you studied his face you could see that his mouth was clenched, his strong jawline accentuated and his eyebrows were slowly making their way closer together.
"Nah...I'm not buying it." You moved to face him, "What's the matter with you?"
He closed his eyes and brought a hand to his face, rubbing across his forehead, "Nothing, I said I'm fine."
"And I said I'm not buying it." You reached for his arm and he almost flinched, "Come on, I haven't heard from you in a week, I haven't seen you out walking Nelly and in the nicest way possible Taron, you look like shit."
"It's Kate."
"Kate?"
"Kate...my girlfriend Kate."
You nodded and waiting patiently for him to continue.
"It's...it's just been a difficult week."
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, Taron." You gulped as he looked at you. You weren't sure if you wanted to hear about her anyway.
"No...no. I think I need to just get it off of my chest." He glanced towards the dogs before motioning across to the bench.
You both sat down and he rested his elbows on his knees, palms pressed together as his eyes danced in anticipation.
"I think she's cheating on me."
You leaned back slightly; eyebrows raised in surprise. It's safe to say that you weren't expecting that.
"What makes you think that?"
His lips curled into a smile as he exhaled, "At first I thought I was just being paranoid. But now I'm fairly certain." He paused as his tried to find his words, "She's works away a lot and she can only visit every so often. And the last few times she's visited...something hasn't seemed right. And if I'm being honest...I haven't been happy for a while."
You could see some moisture forming in his eyes, but he quickly blinked it away.
"Why are you still with her?"
He froze, his hair blowing in the breeze being the only movement on his body. Finally, he let out a breath and shook his head, "I really don't know. She stuck with me while I was broke and trying to make something of myself."
"You don't owe her anything if you're not happy. You know that, right?" You thought for a second, "And if you're sure that she's cheating on you...then-"
"She was using the bathroom and she got a text. I thought it was my phone so I grabbed it and there were all these messages, you know...I can't believe she'd do that to me."
"You don't deserve this Taron." You gently placed your hand on his knee, and he broke his gaze from the floor to look at the contact.
He kept his eyes on your hand for a short moment before you started to pull it away, but he quickly stopped you, "No, don't."
"Taron-"
He cut you off mid-sentence, pressing his lips to yours, gently but hungrily. His hand ran up your arm, finding its way to cup to your face, fingers pulling at your hair.
You melted into him for a moment, before feeling a stab of guilt. You pulled away quickly, placing your hand over his that was still placed on the side of your face. His forehead pressed against yours, his eyes burning into you.
"We shouldn't...I mean, you still have a girlfriend." You whispered.
"But I-" Taron started, moving into you closer.
"No, it's not right." You held his hand and pushed it away from you.
Taron closed his eyes for a moment before nodding gently. You rose to your feet and clipped the leash onto Riley who was sniffing down by your feet.
"Call me when you've got everything figured out."

RHW: Prologue
Story Page / Playlist / Wattpad / AO3
Word Count: 6.9k
A/N: Holy crap, it's here. The prologue is here. Once again, I want to thank one of the most amazing people I know, @brayndilyn for all of her help, inspiration, ideas and just downright motivation to write this story. It's been a hell of a ride and I'm so happy that we're finally at this point. Let's go!
May 22nd, 2019Â
It was now or never. Liliana would walk out of the meeting the happiest she had ever been or completely distraught. It was one or the other. Salt or pepper.Â
Her stomach twisted as nerves bubbled from deep within her soul. They werenât the kind of nerves that caused butterflies in her stomach to flutter into a frenzy and chills to run up the back of her neck like when she was about to speak in front of a large group of people. They were far, far worse.Â
It was possible that at any point she could throw up the contents of her stomach all over the worn, grey carpet of the top floor of Between the Lines Publishing House. It was impossible for her to straighten her posture so as to look even a tiny bit put more together. It didnât matter how much she focused on her breathing, she was struggling to calm her nerves.Â
Metres in front of her was the conference room where it would all change. The CEO, Martin Johnson, and the Vice President, Evangeline Currie, of the place sheâd worked for years, were getting ready to listen to her pitch where she would bare her heart and soul to them.Â
It had taken months of hard work just to get to the seats outside the conference room. Writing a pitch that would catch the attention of the two most influential people in the building, sending so many emails trying to get them to meet with her so that she could actually pitch the idea to them, and finding a date and time that they were all available for an unconventional pitch meeting.Â
Not many people who wanted to pitch their idea for a book made it to the seats where she sat that morning. Many of them never made it past Lilianaâs own computer. She had been the bearer of bad news for so many aspiring authors who only dreamt of having their book published.Â
The last thing she wanted was to be on the receiving end of that bad news. She didnât                                                                                                                        want to go back downstairs to work after a âit was good, but itâs not quite what weâre looking for at this timeâ. She had heard it many times before, even if it wasnât aimed directly at her.Â
Lilianaâs nerves werenât helped by the fact that unlike most of the other people who pitched book ideas to Martin and Evangeline, she knew them well. They were the people she worked for day in and day out. The people who had hired her when she was only twenty-two. The people who she didnât know if she could face again should the pitch go badly. Â
If it didnât go well and she was turned down by her two big bosses, she would have to continue working on their payroll with the knowledge that they thought she was unimaginative and unworthy of a book deal. It would break her and she didnât know how she would cope if that were the case. She had worked too hard to be turned down.Â
She would have to leave the company. There was no other way around it. How could she work for one of the biggest publishing houses in London, deciding who was going to get an interview with the big bosses to pitch ideas, when they had turned hers down?Â
She would have to leave and find a new job somewhere else, leaving the career that she had worked hard to build into something that she was proud of. Oh god, what if she got fired?Â
âLiliana?â Charlotte beckoned from the door to the conference room. A comforting smile played at her lips and Liliana felt a little more at ease. But it didnât last for long.Â
She took a deep breath and stood up ready to face the music. She smoothed the front of her trousers with the palms of her hands, but regretted it when she realised just how clammy she was. But she plastered a smile on her face anyway as she walked into the room that would change it all. For better or for worse.Â
âGood morning, Martin. Good morning Evangeline. How are you both doing?â Taking the hands of the two people she had to impress the most, Liliana greeted them both with a smile, wanting to make as good of an impression as physically possible. âThank you so much for meeting with me today.âÂ
She passed each of them one of the small folders that she had prepared with every piece of paper in them perfectly coordinated with the slides that she had prepared to show them. Liliana was nothing if not addicted to the tiny details. The folders were filled with character descriptions, the plot of the book, the expected delivery time, a background of her main character, the target audience she wanted to hit, and how she would market the book to said target audience.Â
Liliana knew that she had an advantage when it came to the meeting. She herself had sat at the back of the room while people pitched their work and had been asked multiple questions about the story and how they expected to bring it to life. The folder was her way of not stumbling over her words. If she could direct them to a page of the folder, they would be able to see her extremely detailed notes and not have to listen to the shake of her voice as she tried to remember everything she had worked on.Â
The computer was already switched on so she signed into her work account and opened the presentation that was saved to her desktop, another small detail that prevented any technical difficulties which would take away from the meeting. Taking a deep breath before she stepped back into the line of fire with a smile on her face. Martin and Evangeline already looked impressed with her level of commitment, appreciating how prepared she was.Â
It wasnât everyday that they had someone quite as prepared as Liliana in the room talking to them. She had thought of everything and they knew that they wouldnât have many questions for her at the end of the pitch. They had everything they needed in front of them and the only thing left was for Liliana to talk to them about her idea.Â
Her throat threatened to close as she stood in front of everybody. Her hands were still clammy and her heart shifted to her throat. Taking the remote that would allow her to step out from behind the podium and walk freely while switching the sidesâ something she knew would make her seem more confident in what she was saying, and how passionate she was about the story.Â
Liliana had spent hours the night before running through the presentation in the mirror, making sure that it was perfect so she wouldnât need to look at the slides at all. She stepped further forward and clicked the slides to her first one.Â
The slides reflected her personality perfectly. They were bright, fun and quirky, and Martin and Evangeline couldnât have been any more impressed at how amazing everything looked. It was a gamble though, not following the typical, stereotypical professional slide presentation of sophisticated and business-like black and white, with very little colour and personality. But she wanted to show people that even though the premise of her book was sad, it wasnât a sad book in the slightest. Not by any means. And she wanted to show the target market through it all, starting with the pitch.Â
âWhenever youâre ready, Liliana.â Martin smiled, motioning for her to start her speech before taking a sip of the coffee that sat in front of him. âGood luck.âÂ
âStill Holding On is me,â Liliana started. Her words were strong, firm and serious. She meant everything she said. But she was also trying her best not to cry. âIt is my life. It follows the main character, Matilda, through her teenage years. Matilda faces things many teenagers these days face; divorced parents, school girl crushes on people who donât feel the same, people picking on her, exams, teachers saying that the boys picking on her must fancy her when in actual fact they just didnât like one another. They never had.âÂ
Her voice was strong, carrying her well. And once she started talking about the book, she couldnât stop. It had been her life since she first thought about it. She had spent every spare minute working on the plot and figuring out what was going to happen. On her computer she had a document with over twenty-thousand words of planning that she had worked on. Paragraphs were different colours where she had added bits at random times and wanted to know what was new so that she could go back and work on it. Itâs all sheâs done and she loved it.Â
âI know that we arenât fans of self help guides here at Between the Lines, but this book is far more than that. Itâs a novel designed for teenagers entering the craziest time of their lives. When they read it, theyâre going to learn things in a way that doesnât feel like theyâre learning. Unlike other self help books which drone on about being a better version of yourself, Still Holding On talks through the life of Matilda and explains the things she wishes that she had done, the things that she did wrong. Itâs quite literally written between the lines.âÂ
Charlotte smiled widely from her spot, proud of the woman she had watched grow from a shy twenty-two year old fresh into the industry to an even more mature woman who had made so many people proud. Liliana was an insanely good employee and if anybody deserved getting the book deal, it was her. It would be an amazing opportunity for her.
âThrough the guise of a coming of age novel, Still Holding On is a reflective memoir of my life. Everything that happens in the book happened to me directly. From being thirteen and crying in a maths class because the boy next to me was poking fun at something I was insecure about, to being eighteen and moving out to go to university, to being twenty-two and starting a job in my dream career. Itâs a way for me to tell every young person out there that they have to remember that everything is going to be alright.âÂ
She paused, feeling her emotions get the better of her when she realised that sheâd practically repeated the same information that sheâd already given, just worded slightly differently. âItâs everything I wished someone had told me when I was a young girl who had been forced to grow up too quickly. When I felt like I missed out on the pivotal years of my life. When I missed out on the fun parts of my childhood. Thank you so much for listening. In the folder in front of you, you will find everything from the slides I just showed you, to more information about the target audience, ideas about the cover, marketing ideas, projections for how well I believe it could do, and why I feel like it could change the way Between the Lines conducts publishing.âÂ
Evangeline looked up from the notes she was taking to smile up at Liliana, nodding her head and completely impressed by what she had heard. Liliana took a deep breath of relief. But as soon as she saw Martin watching her intently, her heart dropped to her stomach. Sheâd seen that look before.Â
The look he gave somebody before he gave them the bad news that they werenât going to go ahead with their book deal. It was the look she had dreaded seeing and wished with her entire being that she was just imagining things. But it was no use. The look sheâd dreamt of the night before when she had finally managed to fall asleep for an hour or so was staring back at her, and she was fully awake.Â
âLiliana,â he said eventually, clicking his pen shut and putting it down on the table with a clink, âdo you think that you could give us a moment to discuss everything we just heard? Charlotte will come and get you when we are ready. Feel free to grab yourself a coffee if you would like one. And thank you,â he added, âfor your presentation. It was really well thought out.â
âOf course,â she smiled, logging out of the computer and stepping back into the corridor.Â
It was impossibly smaller out there as she waited, resting her back against the wall and rolling her head back on her neck. Her eyes fell closed as she tried to listen into the conversation being had in the other room. She couldnât hear anything over the sound of her heart thumping loudly in her ears. The coffee machine was just in front of her, calling for her.Â
The bitter taste of office coffee called for her to take a sip. To fill her senses with something so profoundly glorious that she would forget everything she was worried about. But she knew that it would be the worst idea she ever had to get a cup.Â
As beautiful as it would be to let the coffee drip onto her tongue, her anxiety was already making her tummy feel funky. Adding coffee to that would be a recipe for disaster. Instead, she moved to sit back down. Her knees were threatening to give up on her and she needed to give them some relief. Theyâd held her up when she wanted to fall.Â
An eternity passed before Charlotte came back out of the room to get Liliana. Her facial expression was unreadable, which was new for Liliana. She could always tell what her boss was thinking with one look. But that day Charlotte didnât give much. Her eyes were firm and her lips gave off no indication of whether she was happy or not. It scared Liliana.Â
Though Liliana was sure that sheâd fucked it all up and that she would be packing up her office in a matter of minutes ready to leave the building for the final time ever. But Martin was smiling. Liliana wanted to look around the room for a hidden camera, certain that she was on a prank show.Â
âIâve heard great things about you, Liliana,â he said through a smile, turning the page of the folder to the projected timeline that she had given them. âAnd I understand that you have been a stellar addition to your team since you started here eight years ago. So congratulations on that alone. Itâs really nice to see someone as young as yourself excel at your job.âÂ
âThank you.â Liliana rubbed her hands against her thighs to try and stop them from getting any more clammy than they already were. âThat means a great deal. So truly, thank you.âÂ
âYou know that I am always very sceptical when it comes to books that are admittedly a self help guide,â he continued, looking at the notes that heâd made.Â
Thatâs it. Sheâd fucked it all up. Her career was over. There was no turning back. She couldnât pretend like the pitch had never happened and go about life as though sheâd not stepped foot upstairs. It was all over. All of it. She had humiliated herself.Â
âBut-â Lilianaâs heart stopped. What was happening? Why was there a but? â-I think this could be just the book we need to be able to reach a younger target audience. And, like you said, to change the way we publish. I want to move forward with your book.âÂ
Liliana stared at him, dumbfounded beyond belief. She couldnât believe what she was hearing. Her heart pounded in her chest. âReally?âÂ
âYouâll work directly with Charlotte to flesh out a manuscript and then we can start to move it to a team of editors. I do, however, want to ask how you would feel about Evelyn Billings being your editor? She is a top editor here and she has been involved in some of the best books that have come out of the printers. I think the two of you could create magic together.âÂ
Liliana nearly peed herself. âEvelyn was the person I have dreamt of working with on this book. I would love for her to be my editor.âÂ
Martin nodded, taking a note quickly and checking the projections once more. âDo you think we could work towards a publication date of spring 2021? I know thatâs two years away but as you said, itâs a personal book, and I want to give you all the time you need to work through it without feeling overwhelmed. Plus, I would selfishly love for you to continue your work here. If thatâs something that you would want to do. I donât want to lose an asset like yourself. Youâve got a good eye.âÂ
She smiled widely, nodding. âI would very much love to continue the work Iâve been doing. There are a few ideas coming through even today that I feel you may be really interested in. And I would love to continue working through them all with you. Thank you, Martin and Evangeline. Thank you so much.âÂ
The two big bosses stood from their respective seats with Charlotte following close behind. Liliana clasped her hand with each of them, shaking it firmly and quietly thanking them once more for the opportunity that they had presented her with. Everything she ever wanted was starting to take shape.Â
âCongratulations, Liliana. Truly. Would you like these folders back? Nice touch on them, by the way.âÂ
âYou may keep them,â she mumbled. âI made them so that you could have them throughout the whole process. They have all of the information you could possibly need at this point and so if you read through it and you have any questions, just let me know. Iâm more than happy to answer any that you may have. Thank you, again. I donât think Iâm ever going to be able to thank you enough.âÂ
She practically skipped down the narrow corridor to the lift at the end of it when she had been excused from the room. The corners of her mouth pulled tightly into a smile and burned where it was pulled tightly. The anxiety she felt earlier in the morning was still there, but it had shifted from the tight knots in her stomach to a frenzy of butterflies. She was excited.Â
Her dreams of being an author were coming true. She had done it. Liliana had secured herself a book deal. At one of the best publishing houses in London, at that. And she couldnât be any prouder of herself. It was everything she could have imagined and more.Â
Her best friend, and soon to be editor, Evelyn, waited just outside the lift on the sixth floor of the building, where all aspiring writers aim to get to, and where very few aspiring writers got past. With hands clasped at her chest and nose scrunched in anticipation, she bounced on the spot as she watched the digital number decrease from tenâŚnineâŚeightâŚsevenâŚand six. The doors opened and Liliana stepped out, face so straight that Evelyn couldnât read her.Â
It didnât matter whether Liliana had come back with good news or bad news. She would be there no matter what. And they would no doubt have drinks that evening. Whether they were consolation drinks or celebration drinks was another story.Â
Evelyn searched Lilianaâs face for any form of a hint as to whether her meeting went well or not, but Liliana managed to keep a straight face.Â
âSo?â The word was drawn out as it left her, going on for over two seconds. The Irish twang to her voice was stronger than the week before, probably on account of her having gone home for the weekend to visit family. âCome on. Iâve been dying down here waiting to find out how it went! I need to know everything.âÂ
Liliana somehow managed to keep a completely straight face as she moved away from the lift and a little further into the foyer area. She shrugged her shoulders.Â
âThey said that they want you to be my editor,â she said after a long pause.Â
Evelynâs eyes grew twice their normal size, and the corner of her lips pulled towards her ears. âYour editor? As inâŚyou got-âÂ
âI got the deal!â Liliana shreeked through her own smile. âI got the freaking deal!âÂ
She threw her arms around Evelynâs shoulder and jumped up and down, unable to contain her excitement. A few people who were standing around the office looked over to them in confusion. But they didnât go over and ask if everything was okay. With Evelyn involved, the entire office was bound to know within the hour. Evelyn was a great editor and was the most loyal person anybody could ever know, but she was a terrible gossip and couldnât keep a secret to save her life.Â
âMartin said that he absolutely loved the idea,â Liliana said as she pulled away from the hug, her leg bouncing and her hands making fists and unfisting multiple times as energy ran throughout her. âHe also said that I am a stellar employee, which coming from the CEO is a huge deal. But Iâm going to be an author!âÂ
âMy best friend is going to be an author!â Evenly screamed, her voice louder than Lilianaâs had been and therefore travelling further. She didnât care that people were still staring at them. She was happy and nothing would change that. âYouâre going to be huge, little one. Absolutely huge! Oh my god this is literally everything youâve ever dreamed about. And we need to celebrate tonight. Iâll come over and weâll crack open some bubbly and celebrate you being the next big thing to come out of Between the Lines. Oh my god I am so proud of you.âÂ
Liliana breathed deeply when Evelyn wrapped her arms around her shoulders once more extra tightly.Â
They were only twenty-one and twenty-four when they first met, moving into a flat together in Edinburgh to save money on bills. Liliana was taking part in a placement year for university and spent most of her time reading books and comparing their reviews to figure out what made a good book and what made the opposite. Evelyn had been working at Between the Lines for a little over six months as a freelance editor and was trying to save money to move to London.Â
Now they were thirty and thirty-three and working together in London, about to embark on their biggest project to date. Evelyn knew just how much the whole thing meant to Liliana and she didnât think she would ever stop being proud of her. Liliana deserved everything that was coming her way. Everything and more.Â
âBubbly sounds so good,â Liliana smiled. âMaybe we could order a takeaway too? Go all out? I havenât had pizza in so long.âÂ
âAbsolutely! Whatever you want. And itâs my treat.â Liliana tried to protest but Evelyn stopped her, putting a finger over her lips to silence her playfully. âMy best friend is going to be an author and I want to celebrate her so itâs all on me.âÂ
âBea, you donât have to do that.âÂ
âYes, Lili, I do. Iâll come round at six?âÂ
âYeah thatâs perfect. Gives me time to get home and tidy some before you get there. I couldnât decide what to wear this morning for the pitch so I took everything out of my wardrobe and now itâs all in the living room. My mirror is in the living room against the dining table and oh god the kitchen is a mess too. I need to do some serious-âÂ
âLili, itâs fine. I donât come to your flat to judge how messy it is. Youâve seen my flat! Thatâs a disaster at times. But I get it. Iâll try to be late just for you. How about that? You look amazing, by the way,â she added after a brief pause. âYouâre giving chic seventies with the sage trousers and blazer and I am here for it. Those shoes too! Wow. Where are your trousers from? I need a pair.âÂ
âI knew there was a reason that youâre my best friend,â Liliana chuckled, walking over to her office and pushing the door open. âThe trousers are from Cider. They were on sale too. I only paid fifteen for them.âÂ
âNo way! Thatâs so good. Can you send me a link to them?â Evelyn asked expectantly, walking to the door next to Lilianaâs to be at her own office.Â
âYeah no problem. Iâll send it once Iâve read through the three mini pitches that I was sent this morning before my meeting. Got to keep up that stellar employee status and choose who gets to see Martin and Evangeline.âÂ
She cracked her fingers as she walked through towards her desk, sitting on her chair and stretching her neck. Her laptop sat open in front of her and a list of three pitches she had to read were there. Normally she would read them within half an hour and have made up her mind whether they could be something or not. But she didnât know where to start.Â
Every emotion she had ever known bubbled through her. She was excited, she was nervous, she was scared, she was frustrated. Everything she could possibly be, she was.Â
Her office was a little stuffy so she pulled her blazer from her shoulders and let it fall behind her back and over the armrests of her office chair. She spun around to grab a pencil case from her drawers behind her, unzipping it and grabbing a pen so that she could take notes.Â
Clicking on the first email she received that morning, Liliana made the writing bigger so that she could see it a little clearer and began to read. Within the space of a hundred words she had laughed out loud and taken multiple notes to send back to the author, deciding that if there was just a tiny bit more then it would be worthy of a meeting with Martin.Â
Word of her news spread around the office like wildfire thanks to Evelyn and her pride in her best friend. Liliana could barely get through a single email without someone from the office coming to congratulate her and ask about the book. She kept the contents of it to herself. âJust for now,â she promised, getting back to her work before somebody else came over.Â
As frustrating as it was at times being unable to get through five minutes of work without being congratulated, the sense of belonging it gave her was astronomical. For a while now, she had been suffering from a large case of imposter syndrome but knowing that she was worthy of a place on the office bookshelves told her just how much she belonged in the offices. How much she belonged in her career.Â
***
As the time for her to leave for the day rolled around, she was surprised to see how much work she had actually managed to complete. The afternoon was a whirlwind of congratulations, reading, a surprise delivery of brownies from the bakery down the roadâ her favouriteâ courtesy of the marketing department, and a bunch of flowers from Charlotte.Â
After setting her email response to âout of officeâ, she put her laptop in her bag and shrugged her blazer back onto her shoulders. In the bottom drawer of her desk was a tote bag that she had in the office just in case she needed to carry anything home. She put the box of brownies at the bottom after swiping a chocolate button from the top of one, and rested the flowers on top of them, testing the strength of the straps before placing them gently on her shoulder.Â
Evelyn, being the overachiever that she was, was still in her office as Liliana walked past with a manuscript on the desk in front of her and three different highlighters in her hands as she read through it, colouring different sections in a way that only she would understand.Â
âCan you get some cute pastel highlighters for when youâre editing my manuscript?â Liliana asked. âGod that feels weird to say.âÂ
Evelyn looked up from her work with a grin. âOf course! Iâm going to buy a brand new set of the best stationery around just for your book. How do you feel?âÂ
Liliana stepped into the office and took a seat on the chair in front of Evelyn, placing her bag of goodies on the one next to her and her handbag on the floor by her feet. âLike Iâm going to wake up any given second,â she confessed through a breathy laugh. âIâve had to pinch myself so many times today that I can guarantee thereâll be a bruise on my arm tomorrow. I just canât believe it, you know?âÂ
âI know,â Evelyn smiled, highlighting another section and writing something next to it with the black pen near her hand. âBut you really do deserve everything thatâs coming your way. Remember when we were in Edinburgh and weâd gone to that cafe to work and you said you were going to write a book one day?âÂ
Liliana nodded. It was a fond memory.Â
Rain pelted against the windows of The Milkman cafe and the two women had ordered themselves a latte and got comfy on the sofa-like bench at the window. Liliana was reading her third book of the week and putting sticky tabs in the places where she felt it was important to go back to. She would cross reference everything when they got back to the flat where her laptop was.Â
âIâm going to write a book one day,â she had said quietly. Evelyn looked up from her notebook and lifted her eyebrows. âI mean it. Iâm going to write a book one day.âÂ
âI believe you. I really do.âÂ
âGod that was a good day,â Liliana said. âI think it was the cosiest day Iâd had in Edinburgh.âÂ
Evelyn put the cap on one of her highlighters and let it drop to the desk. âI told you that night that I believed you were going to write a book. Look at you now!âÂ
Liliana inhaled deeply, letting her chest rise as she filled her lungs, only releasing the air when she felt like she was going to pass out. It was the first time she had breathed properly in a while.Â
âIâm finishing these last two pages and then Iâll be leaving to come to yours. The Sainsburyâs just off the tube will be open, right?âÂ
âYeah it stays open until eleven I think.âÂ
âPerfect. Iâm going to nip in on my way. Is there anything you want or need while Iâm there?âÂ
Liliana thought for a minute, debating whether she actually needed anything or whether she wanted something for the sake of having something.Â
âI donât suppose you could grab me a bag of Doritos and hummus, could you?âÂ
âFlaming hot?â Evelyn asked even though she knew the answer already. There was no other flavour that her friend would have.Â
âYou know it.âÂ
âI can grab you some. Now you go get yourself home and comfortable. Iâm proud of you!âÂ
Liliana stood up and walked around the desk to hug Evelyn, planting a sloppy kiss to her cheek. âI love you, bea.âÂ
âI love you too, weirdo.âÂ
***
A rush of adrenaline hit Liliana as she stepped out of the office building. In the front window sat four bookshelves, each filled with the most recent books to have been published at Between the Lines. It wouldnât be long until her own book sat on one of those shelves and it was hard to process. She snapped a quick photo of the books and sent it to Evelyn with a âone day soon!â text.Â
The sky was a calming deep blue, and there was a sea of candy floss clouds scattered throughout, breaking up the sunâs rays and keeping the city cool. It was a nice contrast to her office earlier in the day and she basked in the perfect mix of warm and chilly. Especially when she thought about jumping on the underground which would no doubt be hellishly warm.Â
The heat was Lilianaâs least favourite part of the underground. As much as she loved being able to get from one side of the city to the other without dealing with traffic, the sticky, warm breeze that flowed throughout the stations was often enough for her to feel a little lightheaded.Â
She double checked that her water bottle was full as she turned the corner onto Victoria Street and sighed in relief when it was.Â
But then she saw it.Â
There was a decent sized queue forming waiting to get into the Curzon cinema and curiosity got the better of her. A familiar face stared back at her when she got a better look at the poster for the film that had apparently been released that day.Â
Rocketman.Â
Dressed as Elton John in all white with feathers coming out of his back and a pair of big, white sunglasses on his head, was Taron.Â
Pride pooled in her tummy as she snapped a photo of the poster of Taron on the poster for a big deal film. Between the Lines had bidded to be publishers of Eltonâs autobiography due to be released later in the year but had been outbid by Macmillan Publishers.Â
Before jumping on the tube, Liliana stopped in at Joe and the Juice and treated herself to a Joeâs Amg, craving the taste of apple, mint, and ginger. The drink was cool and aided in her feeling a little less sticky when she was waiting on the platform. Considering the time of day, Victoria was pretty empty and Liliana managed to grab a seat for the first part of her journey. Getting a seat on the Northern Line would be a different story.Â
***
The first thing she did when she fell through her front door was peel off her heeled boots, stacking them neatly on the shoe rack that sheâd built when she first moved in, grabbing her slippers to slide on instead. The flat was a mess and she groaned loudly. Before she even attempted to start tidying things away she ran to her bedroom to change into a pair of leggings and a hoodie.Â
Her phone pinged with a message from Evelyn halfway through changing and she read the text with her hoodie over her head but her arms out and bare to the cool air of her flat. She really needed to close the bathroom window.Â
âGot held up at work. Martin wanted to discuss your book. YOUR book! That sounds so cool. Iâll be there in an hour or so xâÂ
Liliana told her that it was fine, and that she hadnât even started to tidy things away yet anyway. She was thankful that she had longer to tidy when she walked into the living room. There were clothes all over the floor and a mirror resting against the dining table. She started to bundle clothes into her arms and carry them through to her bedroom where she dropped them on the bed and debated leaving them until she was ready to sleep.Â
âLili donât be an idiot,â she mumbled to herself, âyou know for a fact that theyâll just wind up on the floor if you donât put them away right now.âÂ
Slowly, she started to hook each item back onto a hanger and into the wardrobe, regretting leaving them all out before work. She must have changed at least ten times before settling on the sage green trousers, patterned v-neck jumper and green leather blazer that she wore. It was sophisticated enough that she wasnât casual but comfortable enough that she didnât feel trapped or claustrophobic in them like she did with a few of her office outfits.Â
It turned out to be the best outfit she had put together, receiving multiple compliments on it before she even made it to her desk. Sue in reception commented on it making her feel like she was a teenager again; Gareth in the tech department said that it made her look really cool; and Charlotte told her that she looked really beautiful and like she meant business. The compliments made her feel fuzzy inside and she swore it was those that gave her the confidence to give the pitch the way she did.Â
Time went on as she tidied everything away, the full album sheâd put on playing through once and starting again. Sheâd prepared plates and glasses for her and Evelynâs pizza.
When she was happy with the tidiness of her flat, she flung herself back on the sofa and grabbed her phone to check her messages again. She hadnât missed anything, but without thinking, she opened a new message and typed in Taronâs name. Her heart did a little leap when his contact popped up and she clicked on it. She attached the photo of the poster at the cinema and started to type a text message.Â
Hey, look at you go! Congrats on the new film. Iâm going to book tickets to see it this weekend!
Her finger hovered over the send button and she hesitated.. It had been eleven years since sheâd last seen or spoken to him.Â
As she looked at his name at the top of the screen, her heart broke a little. It probably wasnât his number anymore. The likelihood of him changing it was high and she knew that it would be silly of her to send the text just in case.Â
Even if it was his number, she wasnât sure that he would even remember her. His life was so exciting and he was meeting new people all of the time. Why would he remember someone as insignificant as someone he once knew in school?Â
She deleted the text when the doorbell rang, jogging to the console next to the front door and buzzing Evelyn in with a âthe doorâs open when you get upâ. Though not being one to just get to doing what she was doing before, she opened the door and waited for her friend to get to the first floor of the block of flats. One of their friends, Jacobâ a publishing agent with a heart of gold-- trailed behind Evelyn with the biggest smile on his face.Â
âI hear congratulations are in order for our very own Miss Liliana,â he beamed when he saw her. He pulled her into a bone crushing hug and swayed her from side to side while Evelyn smiled behind them, shopping bags propped on the floor. âI knew you could do it, tiger. But remember, when youâre a big, famous author, nobody knows you better than I do. S-â
âExcuse me?â Evelyn called out, mouth agape and hand on her chest. âNobody?âÂ
âNobody knows you better than we do. So if any agent is going to represent youâŚâÂ
âOf course itâll be you, Jacob. Iâm so happy youâre here to celebrate with us. I got a book deal!âÂ
Liliana let her friends into the flat and waited for them to take their coats and shoes off before they walked into the living room. Evelyn put the bags of snacks on the table and grabbed a bottle of prosecco from one of them.Â
âI love you, Lili, but I didnât want to pay nearly forty quid for a bottle of the real stuff.âÂ
Liliana chuckled. âHey, if this stuff has bubbles and will make my head feel all floaty, I donât care if it was free. Let me just go grab another glass for Jacob. Had you told me he was coming, I wouldnât have to do a walk of shame into my kitchen to get another one,â she laughed.Â
âIâll drink it from the bottle!â Jacob exclaimed.Â
âIf anyoneâs doing that, itâs me. Iâll be two seconds.âÂ
âIn my defence, I didnât know he was coming until I was getting ready to leave the office,â Evelyn said loud enough to be heard from the other room. âHe asked me if he could join and celebrate with us and who am I to say no?âÂ
Evelyn waited for Liliana to get back to the living room before she popped open the prosecco, pouring three glasses and passing them around. They all held them together in the air, beaming smiles on their faces as Evelyn gave a toast.Â
âI knew from the moment I met you that you were going to do great things. You were always destined for greatness and look at you now, your very own book deal, high praise from the CEO himself and the greatest support any girl could ask for! To our very own future New York Times Bestseller, Sunday Times Bestseller and any other Bestseller lists there are, Liliana Esme!âÂ
The three friends clinked their glasses together and Liliana smiled, feeling happier than she had in a long time. Things were finally falling into place for her. It felt good.
Please let me know what you think to the story so far, if you feel like you might have a favourite character, what you're excited for, if there's anything you want to ask.
Also, if you want to be added to a taglist, let me know and I'll put one together.

âFor the two of us, home isn't a place. It is a person. And we are finally home.â
Taron took his hands from Robynâs pockets and grinned towards his stylist. âWell Stella, you have impeccable timing as always. I thought you were not coming until four.â
âTaron it is four.â
Robyn looked to her watch. âIt is actually three fifty three.â She corrected. âYou are seven minutes early.â
The stylist, dressed in a gold pleated long skirt and white sleeveless blouse walked towards them. âBetter early than late I always say and seven minutes? Not a lot of time.â
Robyn chuckled. âSeven minutes is plenty of time, believe me.â She loved the rose blush that quickly filled Taronâs cheeks. âBut I guess we should let you in seeing as how you are here. It would be rude to leave you in the hallway.â
âRobyn Quinn I have missed you.â Stella stepped over to her to hug her tightly, kissing both cheeks. âA tan suits you so well. You look fabulous.â
âThank you Stella. It is always lovely to see you too.â
Taron took the card key from his pocket and opened their hotel room door, holding it to let them in. âNo Miles today?â He asked.
âOh Miles is here and Millie.â She informed him as she walked into the room. âThey are getting the bits from the car. Now, let me take a proper look at the two of you.â Once they had the door closed, they stood together, Stella walking around them both. âThat is going Taron.â She said with a disapproving look, gently cupping his chin.
âCanât some of it stay?â Robyn asked hopefully.
Stella shook her head. âAbsolutely not. It may not be Taronâs red carpet but it is still a red-carpet event and a clean save is essential for a red-carpet.â
Taron lightly laughed on hearing Robynâs sigh. He was used to those words by his stylist and knew she would always insist on a clean shave for an appearance. Robyn definitely loved his much scruffier look and he had enjoyed not having to shave for the last few days.
âYou both look wonderful and that new love glow definitely suits the two of you.â She walked around them once more. âTwo hours? What was I thinking. Nearly not enough time to get you ready. Right, Robyn go and sit at the make-up table, Taron in the seats by the window.â There were four quick raps on the hotel room door and Stella walked over to open it. âCome in, come in.â She called and Miles and Millie walked in, Miles carrying two garment bags while Milie pulled a case behind her. âAnd why are you both still standing? Shoo!â She gave the couple a little push with a smile.
âDo I get to see what my outfit is?â Robyn asked, her eyes on the garment bag which was hung up on the outside of the wardrobe door.
âDoubting me Miss Quinn?â Stella asked her arms folding over her chest.
âNever.â Robyn answered quickly. âBut I would like to know what I have gotten myself into.â
Stellaâs grin grew. âTaron has a suit.â
âWell I didnât think he was going to be squeezed into a backless dress.â Robyn joked. âAnd me?â She asked a little worried. âItâs not another backless dress, is it?â
Stella shook her head. âNot for a few years.â She replied. âI always style my clients in something different each time and never repeat the same look for at least two years so no backless dress this time.â She walked over and picked up one of the garment bags. âI do believe the last time I saw you, I promised you a pants suit.â
âA pants suit!â Robynâs eyes lit up. âReally?â
âOf sorts.â She placed the garment bag on the bed and zipped it open, taking out the item of clothing inside. âI picked this stunning pale pink colour, knowing you were going to have this gorgeous tan which would suit it perfectly and it is more of a jumpsuit then a pants suit.â Stella laid the jumpsuit on the bed. âWide trouser legs with a fitted waist, it has a sweetheart neck line which I know suits you so well and the thin spaghetti straps keep it up, so you donât have to worry about invisible tape.â Stella winked.
âItâs beautiful.â Robyn ran her hand down the trousers leg, the material a gorgeous soft satin.
âI knew you would like it.â
âYou always get it right.â
âAnd if I didnât I would be terrible at my job. I have paired it with some simple open toe heels and I really need to ask you now about tan lines.â Her face turned serious. âBecause if you have bikini tan lines, I am walking out of this room now and will never style you again.â
Robyn laughed and shook her head, hearing Taron chuckle beside her. âNot even one on my back Stella so you donât have to worry.â The stylist rose an eyebrow her way. âI hate an obvious tan line. Some are not avoidable but others, very easily so.â Robyn replied to her look of doubt. âSee.â She pulled at the v neck of her t-shirt bringing her bra strap with her. âNot one in sight.â
âYou are a dream!â Stella exclaimed. âI had another dress just in case but I desperately wanted you to wear this.â
âThis is perfect.â
âI agree.â Taron said. âOn both counts. The tan lines and the jump suit but maybe I can have a peak at what I have to wear too?â
Stella turned to Taron. âMr Egerton, do you have any tan lines that I need to be weary of?â
âNone that should stop me wearing whatever is in that bag.â
Stella gave his cheeks a playful pinch and after hanging Robynâs outfit up, took down Taronâs bag. âA suit.â She confirmed as she opened the bag. âDark grey trousers and waistcoat to match, a pale pink shirt which matches Robynâs outfit and a darker pink tie. I left the jacket off as the weather is a little warm.â
Taron nodded with a little smile. âItâs perfect Stella. Thank you. As always, you get it right.â
âOf course I do!â She beamed. âNow, enough chit chat. We have a red-carpet to get ready for.â She ushered Taron to the chair at the window, leading Robyn to the chair at the make-up table. Standing behind her, she ran her hands through the Irish womanâs hair. âI am thinking an up style tonight. Last time it was curled and down. Maybe a side plait?â
Robyn nodded. âI love a plait.â
âAnd make up, not much needed at all. You Miss Quinn, are golden already with this sun tan.â
Her words made Robynâs smile grow wider. âIt will last about a week and then fade.â
âThen we had better show it off to the world.â
Stella distracted herself getting set up with pallets and brushes, placing them all on the table in front of the mirror, Robyn watching Taronâs reflection as Miles covered his shoulders in a black cloak. She knew exactly what it was for and her heart sank a little at the thought of his clean-shaven jaw and while she loved Taron with stubble or no stubble, she just wanted to have one more kiss with him before it was gone. On her feet quickly, ignoring Stellaâs calls of protest, she walked over to him and grabbed his hand, yanking him up from the chair, his face in surprise.
âRobynâŚâ His voice was drowned out by Stellaâs which was then drowned out by Robynâs.
âI need two of my seven minutes.â She said firmly opening the bathroom door and giving Taron a push inside. âMaybe three.â She winked to Stella, closing the door behind her.
Taronâs smile was stunning, his eyes bright in the lights of the bathroom. âYou are terrible Miss Quinn.â
Robyn pulled on his cloak, making him step closer to her. âI need one more kiss before you are red carpet ready.â
Four minutes later, Robyn sat back on her chair, shrugging at the stylist. âI took liberalities and an extra minute.â
Stella gently took her chin in her hands. âSo much for no make-up Robyn. I now have some red marks to cover up but you may have saved me from picking a lipstick. You must stay put. I only have one hour and forty-five minutes now.â
âI wonât move.â She replied but her eyes were locked on Taronâs as he smirked at her in the refection of the glass mirror. âNot a peep either.â
Satisfied when Robyn zipped her lips, Stella nodded towards Millie, who came over to start on Robynâs hair, while at the window, Miles was starting the process of Taronâs shave.
Exactly one hour and forty-four minutes later, Stella added one last spritz of hair spray to Robynâs hair, then brushing some invisible specks from Taronâs shoulders, stood back to admire the couple. âFirst appearance together as a couple?â She asked.
âFirst one.â Taron confirmed as he held out his phone to her. âWould you? I am sure Robyn has a space she needs to fill on her photo wall.â
Stella snapped a quick photo of Robynâs smile at Taron as he looked sideways at her, before she made them pose over and over, the phone ringing in her hand stopping her.
âThatâs our ride.â He said taking the phone from Stella and answering the call.
âYou two go and have fun. We will clean up here and it will be like we never step foot in the place.â
Robyn gave Stella a tight hug, despite her protests of creasing her jumpsuit and once she had her clutch and double checked it for what she needed to bring, took Taronâs hand and they made their way out of the hotel and into the blacked-out car.
âI donât have to do any interviews cariad.â Taron said as they were a block away from the theatre. âA photo or two and then done.â
âSounds perfect.âÂ
âThen we can just go inside and find our seats. Hugh made sure we had ones right in the centre of the theatre.â
âSounds even better.â
âThe perfect view and optimum position for singing along.â He chuckled.
âThere will be none of that.â Robyn blushed. âThere was plenty earlier on.â
âRobynâŚâ Taron turned in his seat to look at her. âReally? No singing? You?â
She gently gave his thigh a poke. âOk maybe quiet singing.â She turned to him so she could fix his tie. He looked very handsome in his waistcoat and pink shirt, his jaw smooth, his hair neatly gelled back.
Taron laughed at her. âQuiet singing indeed.â He kissed her temple, his lips lingering on her skin. âLove you.â
âLove you too.â She replied as the car stopped.
They had already decided as they travelled to New York on the plane, that they were just going to be themselves, and hold hands and let whatever happens happen. They had such luck with the media over the last year, they felt no need to hide anything when they were in public, knowing at some point, photos were going to be posted and questions were going to be asked, so getting out of the car, Taron held his hand out for Robyn and didnât let go until they posed for a photo in front of the RENT sign, his hand slipping around her waist instead. Many photos were taken as they stood together and Robynâs hand tickling his side, made his smile last longer than his patience for the constant calling of his names, their pace easy as they strolled towards the entrance of the theatre.
In their seats, Robyn was buzzing with excitement and the performance did not let her down. The cast were phenomenal in every way possible and she told Hugh so when they went backstage to congratulate him, still on a high as they got back to the hotel a few hours later. She kicked off her shoes and threw herself onto the bed, grinning as Taron copied her, his tie long gone and top buttons of his shirt open. She snuggled into him, her right hand gently stroking his left jaw.
âBest night.â She whispered.
âIt was pretty great.â He agreed, his left hand running around her back slowly.
âSo tomorrow I get to plan everything right?â
âRobynâŚâ He lightly tickled her side. âYes tomorrow you can plan everything and we will go the ticket booth to see if we can get to another show.â He giggled as she lifted her body so she could place little kisses all over his face. âI guess thatâs a yes then?â
They blended into the busy streets of New York the next day, no one paying them any attention at all and even when the photos appeared online of them hand in hand together at the opening night of Rent, Taron didnât feel the usual guilt and nerves that came when their picture appeared on social media. Instead, his stomach turned with butterflies and a beautiful feeling of love for the woman who made the smile permanent on his face. Lindsey had given him a quick call about the photos and gossip and rumours online, surprised at how calm her usual panicked Taron was, telling Lindsey that he was ok with it all, asking her opinion about posting a photo on his own social media.
âItâs a beautiful photo, love.â Tina told him, two days later when her son and Robyn sat in her kitchen in Aberystwyth, catching up with each other.
âItâs the first one we ever took with each other.â Taron explained to his mam, his hand reaching for Robynâs hand across the table. âIt just felt like the right one, and the right time.â
He hadnât even thought twice about it, asking Robyn if she was ok with his photo. Her kiss told him everything he needed to know and as she started to pack up their cases to leave New York, Taron sat on the bed and thought long and hard about the words he wanted under the photo. He had typed up an essay before he erased every word and wrote âMy best friend, my love, my cariadâ under the photo instead. He still cringed at how bruised his face was in the picture, the black eye and steri-strips on head his head a reminder of how they met, what they had been through and how far they had come and how much love and respect he had for Robyn. It was why he wanted to post the photo. To let the world know before the speculation started, to stop hiding and to trust in what he had with Robyn. Pressing âdoneâ, the photo uploaded in an instant and the comments came in even quicker.
âAnd the comments have been really lovely to read.â Robyn said avoiding Taronâs eye and looking to Tina. âThe fans have been so nice and the photos from New YorkâŚâ
âWhere you both looked fabulous as always.â Tina interrupted, ignoring her sonâs eye roll.
Robyn chuckled at his face, giving his hand a squeeze which she was still holding. âThe photos from New York were fabulous.â She agreed. âAnd hopefully any future appearances will be just as positive.â
âI am sure they will Robyn.â Tina comforted. âYou two have had this connection and understanding with the media since you met and together you two, as corny as it sounds, you can do anything.â
A little shy smile filled Robynâs lips, while Taronâs cheeks blushed slightly, both saved from giving an answer when Mari rang into the kitchen.
âRobyn, you promised me the next time and now is the next time so can we please practise together?â She held up the tin whistle.
Getting to her feet, Robyn leaned into given Taronâs temple a kiss. âWe will take it outside. Donât tell your mam everything we did on holiday.â She winked leaving hand in hand with Mari.
Taron watched until she out of his eye line, a little sigh leaving his lips, turning to look at his mother who was beaming at him. âAh mam, stop it.â
âStop what.â
âThat! That look. Itâs just Robyn.â
âWell love when you get that look from your face, I will get the one from mine.â She covered his two hands with her own. âHave I told you how much I adore her?â
Taron shook his head. âOnly three times since I got home.â
Tina laughed. âSo how was it? And contrary to what Robyn suggested, I want all the details.â
âIt was the most perfect holiday.â His smile grew. âTo get that time together and alone was everything and more.â
âAnd the 7/11?â Tina cautiously asked.
Taronâs eyes closed and he felt his mamâs grip on his hands tighten. âIt was horribly terrifying but such a weight has been lifted from both our shoulders. I feel like we can actually move on now.â
âAnd you went swimming, in the pool.â
Taron shook his head with a grin. âIt was a holiday of complete healing.â
âAnd you and Robyn?â
âMamâŚâ
âWhat? I am your mother. It is my right to ask and know and be nosey.â
Taron leaned in to kiss her cheek, his arms wrapping around her for a hug. âShe is the most beautiful person inside and out and I am the luckiest man in the world to have her in my life and her love and I do not want her to go on Sunday.â
Tina hugged her son tight, feeling his body sag a little. âThe distance is always hard love, you have known that from the first time you said goodbye to her, and of course this time will be much more emotional but the love you two have for each other will always be strong enough to see you through and I am sure you will have another visit planned before you know it.â
Taron nodded into his mamâs shoulder. âI know, I know.â
Tina took her hands from his back and as he left the hug, placed them on his cheeks. âYou have always managed to see each other and you still will and each time will be even more special.â
âThanks mam.â
Tina placed a kiss on his forehead. âAnytime.â
âMam I did it!â Mari came running into the kitchen. âI played the song and I played it with no mistakes.â Robyn was strolling after her, Rosie by her side.
âWell of course you did.â Tina beamed, giving her daughter a hug. âYou have the best teacher.â
âI wouldnât say that.â Robyn replied. âShe knew most of it herself. A few tricks along the way helped her out.â She stood beside Taron, her hand on his shoulder. âSheâll be a pro soon.â
âSo are you two going to stay for dinner or do you have plans for the evening?â Tina asked.
âWe would love to stay for dinner.â Robyn answered, Taronâs concentration engrossed in his phone. âIt would be nice to have a family catch up.â
âLove?â Tina rapped the table in front of her son. âAnyone home?â
Taron looked up from his phone, to see four faces staring at him. âOh sorry. Elton was messaging me.â
âDinner, tonight?â Tina asked, ignoring his words about Elton.
Taron looked over his shoulder to Robyn. âI have already accepted the invite.â
âPerfect.â Looking to his mother, he nodded. âPlease.â
âGreat.â She sighed as her sonâs attention was in his phone again. âTaronâŚâ
He looked up and bit his lip. âSorry, sorry. I was justâŚâ His phone dinged and he looked down, then turning his chair to Robyn. âSo, any plans for October?â He asked. âBecause, we have been invited to Eltonâs AIDâs foundation party and this time, he wants to make sure you can come for the whole weekend and is giving ample notice.â
Robynâs smile grew. âDate?â
âOctober 6thth.â
âTell him I would love to.â

PROLOGUE
CHICAGO , IL . â 1993
THE KANKAKEE HOUSE
[ mentions of drugs , cheating , hook ups , and vomiting/sickness]
wc : 2,033
TO BE LOVED , WAS TO BE CHANGED.. or so that's what y/n thought as she sat in that same old chair at her desk , the big diamond rock resting on a gold band was twisted around on her finger . James knew she didn't have to have a something that large but he insisted , and she gave into it , knowing that this was the one thing she had wanted for a life time.
Y/n was a woman who grew up with a family of politics . Her dad was a retired narcotics investigator , her mother a forensic scientist who chose to be a stay at home mom , and then there was y/n . An agent , who was engaged to a drug dealer . It was risky to say the least , her badge stayed in her glove box at all times so she could live up to her lies of being a journalist . It wasn't easy to say the least , but she was a good liar , and Jimmy was so smitten he would believe anything she told him . So , the back-up career she had never taken a class for became her cover up, her white lie . Everyone had their secrets , why not let Y/n have hers.
Her thoughts were interrupted when a stack of files were placed on top of her desk , a repeat of all the things shes already seen . She took her time and flipped through every single file . Homicide . Murder . Kidnapping . Another homicide . It was all the same half of the time , but it didn't stop her from being able to make a detailed report for an investigation to take place . The sound of doors being kicked in played in her head , something she found to be an anger release during training . She hadn't traveled yet for a case , but she's only been there for about a month , so it was a reasonable effect to the cause .
All the files were stacked neatly on her desk as she checked the time . It was already noon , which meant she had three hours left before she had to clock out and leave , which didn't bother her in the slightest . It was a shock to her that she was leaving before seven , but it may happen anyway with the afternoon traffic jam . As she rose from her seat , she decided to go on a lunch break , that was the one thing she needed was a break , she had been exhausted since she had walked into work this morning , completely ignoring the fact that Jimmy didn't get home until four that morning . It was a repeating cycle , and it almost seemed like he was only coming home in the wee hours of the morning , and sleeping all throughout the day . It was almost as if y/n didn't know who her fiancĂŠ was anymore , as if he was a complete stranger .
...
Four rings , no answer .
Y/n pulled the phone from her ear and called again .
Four more rings , no answer .
Why wasn't James answering his phone ? She tried one more time .
Four rings , still no answer .
It was unusual for James to not answer the phone . Regardless of what was happening , he always picked up the phone and answered . Suspicion was drawn to her mind as she got lost in her thoughts . Was he upset with her ? What had she done to make him not answer the phone ? It had burned a hole into her brain . She looked at the time on her phone , 2:47 pm , thirteen minutes until she could go home , thirteen minutes until she knew why he wasn't picking up the phone ,
thirteen minutes before her world came crashing down around her.
Y/n put the cigarette out that rested between nimble , shaking fingers as she tried to calm her nerves . She made her way back into the big double-decker building behind her . The building stood tall , it was strong , and prominent . You wouldn't be able to miss it when you enter Illinois , it stood out in the eyes of many , and in the eyes of the fallen . It was probably ironic due to the crime rates in the little state , but especially in Chicago . The irony made her laugh every time she thought about it , but today she wasn't laughing, she was trembling with fear .
The sound of her heels clicking against the floor was all she could manage to focus on , the fear of losing balance playing in her mind as she tried to justify why her calls were declined . It was heavy on her mind , and her heart at the thought of doing something wrong , and being here was starting to feel like a sense of betrayal to the man who waited for her at home . Maybe he knew this whole time and didn't tell her , or maybe he was ready to kick her to the curb for a risk of being outed to the feds for his crimes .
Y/n was once again snapped out of her thoughts when the clock read three o'clock . She had went and clocked out and darted straight out of the building , in hopes of being home fast enough to catch Jimmy before he left out for the night , or before his buddies had came over. Getting into that car was her only form of peace , the calm before the storm , because she knew she was only closer to getting an answer .
...
The drive home was quiet , mainly because y/n was going sixty on a forty-five without a cop in sight , she was sure she ran at least two red lights trying to get home . That was her main focus as she passed cars left and right , getting honked at every couple of minutes as she came close to scrubbing against another car . She was no longer upset , she was angry , it felt as if her blood was boiling underneath her skin . She was full of rage .
She needed an answer.
Pulling into the driveway of her home , she didn't even turn her car off as she pulled it to a stop and swapped gears so it was in park . Y/n got out and went straight for the door which was unlocked.. why was it unlocked if James was home? The door would usually be locked at this time, it would never stay unlocked, it was too risky . As her heels touched the hardwood floor , she looked around her home in a fury of rage , her calm steps turning into a march of gentle stomping , it was quiet ... too quiet .
"James ?" y/n called out , and there was no response , it was quiet , a noise so deafening it made her head ache.
As she neared the steps , the pink top on the staircase made her heart sink . Y/n knew it wasn't hers , she didn't wear pink , especially not a deep toned pink . Her steps became quiet as she walked up the steps , the pink top came with a mini-skirt , a matching bra and underwear set , and a pair of heels that were way out of her range .
The clothes stopped at the door where Jimmy's belt laid , she was beyond mad at this point as she took the doorknob into her grasp , twisting it around and making the door open . The sight had made her sick . Physically , mentally and emotionally as she made a bee-line directly to the ensuite bathroom and dropped to her knees , spilling the contents of her lunch into the toilet . Why would he do this to her , was this why he wasn't answering the phone?
She managed to collect herself as she got up off the floor and flushed the contents down the drain . Her steps could be heard as she made her way to the closet to grab a suitcase and put her belongings into it , but she was interupted when she heard the stirring behind her.
James had scrambled to get out of the bed , with only a sheet wrapped around his waist . He didn't notice y/n was in the room until he had heard a dresser drawer being opened , it was as if his whole world came crashing down beneath him . Her face was red with anger , her eyes swelled with the tears that fell down her cheeks , how could he be this stupid .
"y/n , listen - its not what it looks li-" Jimmy was cut off as y/n zipped the suitcase , listening to the pained chuckle pass her lips as she stood up on her own two feet .
"it's not what it looks like?" she spoke , stepping closer to him slowly as she spoke . "I have called , and called with no answer , then I come home and you have some random tramp in MY bed?" she spat , seething with anger as she laughed a little .
Jimmy was distraught , he didn't even remember half of the events that took place . " It wasn't like that , just listen to me for a second" he spat back , but y/n was too distraught herself to hear him out .
"It wasn't like what , James ? Because it sure looks like you fucked her to me. " y/n spoke through gritted teeth , her words piercing through the man like a knife .
"I don't want to hear anything you have to say , you can keep your cheap whore , your fancy house , your drug business , all of it . I'm done" y/n spat through tears and choked sobs . Her hand wrapped around the suitcase as she made her way to the door , but she stopped and put her bags down as she turned around , pulling the ring off her finger in the process , and shoved it into his hand .
"you can keep the rock , I won't need it . Not now , and not in the near future. " she spoke before going back to grab her suitcase and walk out the door for the last time . This was going to be the death of her .
...
TO BE LOVED , IS TO BE BETRAYED ... and she knew that now as she drove out of Illinois , she didn't even know how far she was driving at this point , she lost count of the exit signs as her tears flowed and confusion filled her brain , but anywhere was better than the state she grew to love .
The sun was setting by now , the woman had been driving for hours now . Y/n made a few pit stops for gas , food , and to change into some comfortable clothes . An energy drink coursed through her veins and she seen a sign up ahead that read "MISSOURI WELCOMES YOU" in white and yellow letters .
Y/n let out a soft sigh as she continued her journey , looking around for the nearest motel to stay at for a few days . Her legs ached , and her vision was becoming splotchy , she needed to rest for a few hours , or even just a few days.
Maybe it was fate , or maybe it was destiny , but Missouri was a place she felt free , a place she felt she could restart in .
A place she could call home..

I Don't Want To Rember â˘Kingsman Merlinâ˘
Word count: 1157
Type: Angsty fluff
Warning: Mentions of Death and grieving
Paring: Merlin Ă Oc (description is kept limited name can easily be changed when reading)
Summary: Maggie can't process her feelings about Merlin coming back to her
Maggie was sat at the kitchen table again, it was nearly 3 am and her head was hung over a cup of coffee.
"Mag?" She looked up to see Merlin coming down the stairs of their house.
"Hey babe, I didn't mean to wake you," she smiled.
"You didn't, I woke up naturally, and realised you weren't next to me," he said.
"I just had a nightmare, don't worry about it,"
"What about?" Merlin asked sitting across from her.
"You know what it was about," she said with a heavy sigh.
"I'm alive darling," he reached for her hand but Maggie retracted her hand setting it in her lap.
"Sorry, I'm still shaking it off," she mumbled.
"I love you," he said
"Love you too,"
"Go back to bed," she said "I'll be up in a minute" she assured
Maggie never came back to bed, Merlin found her the next day on the couch asleep.
"I...I just don't know Harry, it feels like she's pulling away from me," Merlin said to Harry as they ate in his office.
"It was traumatic for her too, she watched you die, she grieved you, then she helped get you back and she helped Ginger with your surgery, she's probably still processing," Harry assured him.
"Why won't she talk to me about it?" Merlin asked.
"She doesn't talk about her feelings and she probably feels as though she shouldn't complain because you're the one who came back to life," he said.
"You make more sense than you should," Merlin said.
"I read a lot of romance books," Harry shrugged.
"You read spy novels," Merlin argued.
"I change the dust covers to spy novels," Harry said amused Merlin shook his head with a chuckle leaving to his own office.
He hadn't seen Maggie all day, she said she was too busy working vitals on Roxy and Eggsy's blood from their last mission, an undercover that went wrong and ended in both of them getting injected with a mix of poisons that they had to scramble to get an antidote to.
Maggie had been frantic figuring out the antidote as Eggsy sat holding a puke bucket as he threw up blood, Roxy held out bearly any better but she had gotten to the all-acting poison negator, all it did was slow the poison down.
But Merlin could see the file, she'd ran their blood and done every test she could on both their most recent blood samples and the ones taken when they were injected.
"She's probably working on a better and quicker antidote than what we had," Merlin mumbled. "Yeah, that's all she's doing,"
Maggie came home later than Merlin. "Hey, you hungry?" Merlin smiled.
"Not really, darling I've been working on a proper antidote for months, seriously months and nothing is working," she complained.
"Literally nothing! I can't even figure out what the poisons in that mix were, if I could do that, I could work out a mix of the antidotes for each of those poisons," she groaned as she collapsed on the couch.
"You'll figure it out my love, you always do," Merlin said kissing her cheek, Maggie smiled looking over her notes.
"Thank you, love"
"Put the notes down, they'll be there tomorrow," Merlin said later in the night Maggie sighed rubbing her eyes.
"You're right, I've got a couple theories to try in the lab tomorrow," she said placing the book down.
"Come on, to bed we go," he said holding onto her hand pulling her up off the couch.
"I love you," Maggie smiled kissing him, Merlin kissed back crowding her against the door.
He trailed his kisses down her neck, Maggie pushed away. "I. . .I can't I'm sorry," she said.
"What? What is your problem? Are you afraid to look at my scars? Disgusted? Do you think you're too good for me now? That I'm damaged goods now? Huh!" Merlin shouted.
"No! Of course not!" Maggie said quickly.
"Then look at me like I'm a person again!"
"I can't! Okay? I just can't! It's too much all I see is the view from your glasses as you exploded! How your voice just stopped! The blood on your glasses! And I had Ginger telling me we needed to continue the mission and help Harry and Eggsy! But I couldn't and then weeks later we found you and oh my god the state you were in.
I collapsed into Tequila, Then. . .Then Ginger needed help during the surgery and you were flatling and the machines were going off and Ginger was fanatically trying to get you breathing again and I. . .Froze until Harry came in to calm me down, tell me it wasn't you, it was any other agent I've performed surgery on, we had to cover your face, I could barely even function as a medic, never mind as your wife.
I sat on the floor of my surgery room just thinking, thinking, what if you died, what if you flatlined and I froze again with no one to help, what if you got better and went back into the field and you got hurt again and I couldn't do anything and every time I see those scars, It's all I think about, I can only see you nearly dead on my table, I love you but I'm scared!" She cried sat on the edge of their bed with her head in her hands.
"And I'm so selfish because I can't imagine what you're going through if I'm like this, I can't imagine what your head is like and I-I don't know how to talk about it because you don't like to talk about your emotions and I'm fine with that! Because it's always small things like Eggsy pissing you off, even when you were grieving Harry we didn't talk about it much I could deal with them, I know those emotions, I've felt them but how do I deal with this,"
Merlin knelt in front of her. "Maggie, look at me," he said gently.
"Don't act like I'm a child Hamish" She groaned.
"I'm not but I need you to look at me" he said.
Maggie rested her chin on her hands looking at him, he took her hand. "Trust me," he said gently, he moved her hand under his shirt placing it over his heart. "You can feel that right?" She nodded "I'm alive and I'm healthy and that's because of you and your amazing work, you keep each and every single Kingsman healthy and alive and I love you for that," he leaned up kissing her.
"How about this, we go to sleep, if you wake up with a nightmare, you wake me up as well and we work through it together, you're not selfish, this hurts you as much as me, I didn't suffer alone and you won't either,"
Maggie smiled kissing him "Thank you," she said gently.
They settled into bed, Maggie laid against Merlin's chest listening to his heart and it was the first time in months she'd slept soundly.
