Walk With Me.
Pairing Taron Egerton x Reader
Words 3620
Warnings I think the only curse word is the first one! There's some flirting, some angst and cute moments in between! There's also a lot of time jumping but it's easy to keep up so don't worry!
"Shit." You quietly whispered to yourself as you accidentally stepped straight into a large puddle. Shaking the water off from your shoe, you noticed that Riley was none the wiser. She was happily running along in the long grass, searching out every scent that she could trace.
You slowly walked over to where Riley had dropped her ball and picked it up, calling her over to throw it again.
Just as the ball left your fingers, you noticed another person in the park with you. It was a man. He was quite a distance away from you, but you could see that he was standing still, staring into the nearby trees. A small, tan dog was running around his feet, but he remained still in thought.
Riley bounded back to your feet, retrieving the ball and looking up at you to throw it again. You tore your eyes away from the stranger and walked further into the park, throwing the ball ahead of you.

Your sunglasses dimmed the bright afternoon sunshine and you could feel the warm grass brushing against your sandal-clad feet. The warner weather made your daily walks with Riley much more bare-able and you gladly took a longer route on days like today.
You were almost back to your usual spot in the park when a figure in your peripheral vision caught your attention. It was the man from a few weeks earlier. He was closer than before though, you could see his hazel green eyes creasing as he smiled, watching his own dog play with a ball.
Riley noticed also, and without a second of hesitation, ran over to greet them.
"Riley!" You called after her, making your way across the grass.
"She's okay, mine's friendly." The man shouted as you got closer.
He was right. Looking down you saw Riley and his dog sniffing and running around each other, jumping as their tails wagged in unison.
"Sorry, I just get nervous sometimes. She's still a puppy and you never know with strange dogs."
He looked up at you, "So, you're saying that my dog is strange?"
Your mouth dropped open, "Oh God no! No! That's not what I meant, I-"
His mouth curved into a smile and his eyes softened, "Relax! I'm joking!"
You exhaled and your shoulders relaxed as you smiled back at him.
"I know what you mean. I've had a few scary moments. Nelly just wants to play...some dogs don't like that, she has a lot of energy!"
You glanced back down at Riley, who was stood still now, looking in the direction of the park gates. There was an awkward pause.
“Come on, Riley.” You waved your hand away and turned on your heels.
"See you around." The man said, smiling and raising his eyebrows.

Your bright, floral summer dress waved in the breeze as some strands of hair fell down to frame your face. You smiled and looked down at the ground as you tucked some hair behind your ear.
He was walking towards you, with Nelly in tow. You'd thought about him occasionally since you last saw him, and you found yourself glancing over your outfit in the hopes that you looked good enough.
"Hello again!"
"Hi." You smiled.
Riley looked up at the man approaching her and gladly wagged her tail as he knelt down to stroke her, "I'm Taron..." He glanced over to his own dog, "...and you've already met Nelly."
You smiled again, "I'm Y/N...and I think you've made a new best friend in Riley." You looked down at she was jumping up at him, "She likes you."
He looked up at you and reciprocated your smile. "Cute."
"Yeah, she is."
"I wasn't talking about Riley."
Your mouth opened slightly, and you took a short breath. Your lips curled into a grin and he stood up slowly.
"It's a beautiful day." He looked up towards the sun, "We could walk together?"
You looked around to find Riley, who was becoming properly acquainted with Nelly. Pushing more hair out of your face from the gentle summer wind, you dropped your sunglasses down from the top of your head, "Sure."
There was a short but not uncomfortable silence as you both walked through the park, the gentle breeze making the trees hush.
“So, have you just moved to the area?” You said, hoping not to sound too intrusive.
He swallowed and cleared his throat, “Yeah, just last week.”
“I thought so, I just hadn’t seen you around?” You justified your question, “You know, you get to know the faces in the park.”
“Are you here every day then?” He asked and you swore you could hear hope in his voice.
Nodding your head, you bent down to collect Riley’s ball, “Yeah, pretty much. She has so much energy that she needs to burn off!”
“I can see that!” He said, laughing as her tiny legs moved at an impressive speed, “I bet she keeps you on your toes?”
“Something like that.”
Another short silence. You both watched as Nelly and Riley were running around, finding smells together and enjoying the summer wind. You broke your gaze from the dogs to sneak a glance at Taron, noticing his kind but piercing eyes and the faint creases in his skin. His chin was speckled with short hairs that covered his sharp jawline. He was undoubtably handsome but there seemed to be a softness to him, something that made you even more intrigued.
“So, what do you do for fun around here?” He said, slightly kicking his feet as he walked.
“Erm…it depends what you would consider fun?” You responded in a more flirtatious way than you intended.
He picked up on your tone by flicking his eyebrows upwards quickly, “I’m up for anything, me.”
You breathed a laugh, “There’s some good restaurants, and there’s a street not far from here with some amazing little independent shops. They stock my favourite hand poured candles.”
“Aww, I love candles!” He said, his voice rising in pitch, “I always try to have one burning.”
“Me too!” Your hand rested on your chest, “You’ll absolutely have to go!”
“Maybe I will.”
“There’s tons of live music too, pretty every pub has a band on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.”
He leaned in a little closer, “Seems I’ve got a pretty good tour guide here.”
Your cheeks flushed and you smiled before leaning down to throw Riley’s ball, grateful for the curtain of hair hiding your pink face.
“Maybe, I could get your number and we could hang out? You could show me around the town?”
You straightened up and blinked a few times, “Uh…yeah sure! Sounds good to me.”
Taron glanced at the fork in the path as he reached into his pocket, “I’m gunna head up this way but I’ll text you?”
Your mouth stretched into a grin as you carefully typed your number into his phone, checking that it was correct before handing it back to him, his fingers gently brushing against yours.
“I’ll see you around?”
You gently nodded your head as you watched him turn out of the park, your eyes seemingly fixated on the space where he once was. You were quickly broken from your trance when Riley barked up at you, ready for another chase.
______________________________________________________________
The cool air whipped around your face, but you were pleased for the breeze. The fever that was burning through your body was intolerable, along with the stomach-churning sickness that came with it. You weren't unwell though; this was all self-inflicted from countless glasses of wine from the night before.
You watched Riley as she gladly ran in amongst the grass, nose close to the ground, unaware of how much you craved your sofa.
The evening had started out as a quiet drink with some friends from work but soon spiralled into cocktails and dancing. You grasped at your head as you started to remember fuzzy memories that your brain was trying to push forward in your mind, along with a thumping that wouldn't let up.
"Good morning sunshine!"
A bright voice forced you to turn around, "Taron!" Your eyes narrowed as more memories came flooding back, "Oh my God, I saw you last night!"
"Yeah, you were pretty wasted!" He laughed gently as he unclipped Nelly from her leash, "How are you feeling?"
"As bad as I look."
He shrugged, "Nah, you look pretty good...considering."
You would've blushed, if it weren't for the red haze that was covering your cheeks already. You pushed some hair away from your face as you squinted your eyes at him, "I didn't do anything embarrassing, did I?"
He laughed and started to walk with you, following your dogs, "I wouldn't say that but..."
Your face fell, "Oh God, what? I'm so sorry! What did I do?"
He laughed again, "You don't need to apologise! But you need to thank me."
You lowered your eyebrows in confusion.
"It was around 2am when you decided that it would be a great idea to do shots of vodka while dancing on the bar."
You dropped your head and groaned.
"But I stopped you and insisted that I walked you home."
"You...you walked me home?"
He kicked some pebbles on the ground, "Yeah. We live really close to each other. Plus, you were a mess by that point, I had to be a gentleman."
You gently brought your hand to his arm, "Thank you. Really, thank you. And you're wrong...I do need to apologise. I know I'm bad when I'm drunk."
He put his hand on top of yours, "Seriously, don't worry about it. I just wanted to make sure you were safe."
You felt your heart leap as your hands touched, but you weren't sure if it was from the contact or from the hangover. His hand dropped and he placed it in his hoodie pocket. You did the same and took in a deep breath of fresh air.
The path you were walking split off into two directions and Taron started turning left as you slowed down.
"Are you going up to the top today?" Taron pointed his finger towards the path that lead to an area of the park that was lined with wildflowers.
You felt a rumble in the pit of your stomach and the heat in your body rose a few degrees in temperature.
"Erm, actually..." You knelt down slowly to put Riley's leash back on, "I'm probably going to go back." You clutched at your stomach.
His eyebrows lowered, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah...I'm fine. I just-" You hurried backwards, nausea coming in waves, "-I just have to go." You quickly said before turning and rushing back towards your house.
______________________________________________________________
Riley was practically dragging you into the park, pulling your arm holding onto the leash that was attached to her collar. She could see Taron and Nelly further into the gates and you couldn't keep up with her pace. The leash slipped from your fingers and Riley ran ahead, bounding towards them.
"Riley!" You yelled out, making Taron's head turn in your direction.
He smiled and kneeled down to collect the leash, letting Nelly greet her canine friend, "She's just too excited to see me!"
You laughed, "Clearly!"
"Or is this all a cover up for the fact that it was you who wanted to see me?" He nudged your arm once you arrived his side.
"Oh, haha." You said, unenthusiastically, "Don't flatter yourself, Egerton."
"You're not denying it." He raised an eyebrow.
You shook your head.
He was right, though. Every time you took Riley for her daily walks, you secretly hoped that you'd bump into him. Since you had last seen him, you had been messaging each other online, usually until the early hours of the morning, throwing banter back and forth. You talked about your shared tastes in music and movies, he'd send you the occasional message with a new song that he'd found that he thought you might like, or a line from the book that he was currently reading. He would occasionally send you funny Welsh words and their translations and tag you in memes almost every day. His messages made you smile and you as each day went by, you thought more and more about him.
You looked up to him, "By the way, that playlist that you sent me this morning...oh my God!"
His face was animated, "I know right?! That third song is getting played at my wedding!"
A shiver ran down your spine and you silently wondered if he was currently engaged and a wedding was imminent. You blinked and quickly changed the subject.
"I must admit, I do look forward to your daily messages."
His face changed into a small smile, that grew as he threw his arm around your shoulder, walking with you along the path, "Well, it’s a good job I intend to carry on sending them then, isn’t it?”
______________________________________________________________
There was something that you loved about autumn. Something about the colours and the idea that nature was preparing for winter that held you in intrigue. You watched over the park that you were familiar with in awe, watching the leaves that had fallen from the trees turn to a warm hue of orange, when you saw something else familiar.
Taron was sat on a bench further down the path with his back to you, headphones on and hunched over what was probably his phone.
You walked closer, Riley following you in excitement at seeing Nelly, and poked a finger in his back when you got to him. He pulled his headphones down and twisted around to face you.
His face lit up, "Oh! I was just texting you!"
Your hand ghosted over your pocket where your phone was, "Were you?"
"Yeah!" He put his phone away, "I was just seeing if you were out walking Riley."
Riley jumped at Taron's knees and he stroked her, scratching his fingers into her head. He looked back to you as you sat down next to him.
"How've you been?" He squinted his eyes, shielding his face from the glare of the sun.
You pushed some hair behind your ear, "I'm good, and you?"
"Yeah, I actually wanted to-" He was interrupted by his phone that was in his hand springing into life. He glanced at the screen and his eyes narrowed with an emotion that you couldn't detect, "-hold that thought. I have to get this."
You smiled and nodded, looking over to where Riley and Nelly were, watching them run around each other.
"Hey...yeah." He paused and lowered his head looking down at his feet, shuffling them awkwardly, "...what time do you get in? Okay cool...sure. No...no that's fine." He glanced quickly to you and you caught his gaze for a couple of seconds, "Okay, call me when you get to- yeah...you too."
You looked away, not wanting to seem intrusive to his conversation. He pocketed his phone and rose to his feet.
"We'll have to cut this walk short I'm afraid." He looked over to Nelly and whistled to gain her attention.
"Oh, no problem." You smiled, "You got something to do?" You scolded yourself slightly for prying.
"Erm yeah, kind of." He scratched the back of his neck nervously as Nelly came running back to him, "My friends is visiting, she's-well she's my girlfriend. She's working away and she's back for a few days."
Your stomach dropped to your feet. He had a girlfriend, of course he did. He was funny and intelligent, not to mention exceptionally handsome. You had no idea why you were disappointed. Sure, there was friendly flirting between the pair of you but nothing had ever gone any further. That's all it was, friendly.
"Oh...right." You tried your hardest not to let the disappointment flood your face, but you were sure you had failed in your attempts.
Taron bent down to attach Nelly to her leash as you exhaled away your emotions, biting at your bottom lip. Your eyebrows raised as you caught his gaze again.
"I'll...see you around I suppose."
"Yeah, see you around, Taron."
You watched as he walked away. Your stomach knotted as you studied his body language. You had never known him to deflate so much, everything about him had disappeared. His smile seemed forced for some reason, but you pushed the thought to the back of your mind. Taking a breath, you walked further into the park, letting the gentle breeze cool your skin.
______________________________________________________________
You checked your phone for what felt like the hundredth time that day. It had been almost a week with no contact from Taron at all. Figuring he was busy with his girlfriend, you put your phone back into your pocket and carried on walking with Riley.
You missed him. You missed his morning messages and whenever he got excited about a new pair of sunglasses that he had just bought or a new candle that he loved the smell of. You missed the walks you sometimes shared with your dogs and how completely at ease you felt around him. You missed how he would sometimes lean closer to you when he was talking. You missed the way he would look at you.
But you were just friends, right?
______________________________________________________________
"Taron?" You called out to him.
He was stood in the large open area of the park, staring down into the grass. He didn't reply, nor did he seem to notice you were even there.
"Hey...Taron?"
His head raised slowly, and his eyes refocused onto you, "Oh...hey."
You frowned when you noticed how exhausted he looked. His cheek dimples always seemed to be present but they were nowhere to be seen. His hair was messier than usual and there was no smile on his lips when he looked at you.
"Taron...are you okay?" You couldn't hide your concern.
He cleared his throat and looked back down at the grass, "Yeah...I'm fine." He blinked his bleary eyes.
As you studied his face you could see that his mouth was clenched, his strong jawline accentuated and his eyebrows were slowly making their way closer together.
"Nah...I'm not buying it." You moved to face him, "What's the matter with you?"
He closed his eyes and brought a hand to his face, rubbing across his forehead, "Nothing, I said I'm fine."
"And I said I'm not buying it." You reached for his arm and he almost flinched, "Come on, I haven't heard from you in a week, I haven't seen you out walking Nelly and in the nicest way possible Taron, you look like shit."
"It's Kate."
"Kate?"
"Kate...my girlfriend Kate."
You nodded and waiting patiently for him to continue.
"It's...it's just been a difficult week."
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, Taron." You gulped as he looked at you. You weren't sure if you wanted to hear about her anyway.
"No...no. I think I need to just get it off of my chest." He glanced towards the dogs before motioning across to the bench.
You both sat down and he rested his elbows on his knees, palms pressed together as his eyes danced in anticipation.
"I think she's cheating on me."
You leaned back slightly; eyebrows raised in surprise. It's safe to say that you weren't expecting that.
"What makes you think that?"
His lips curled into a smile as he exhaled, "At first I thought I was just being paranoid. But now I'm fairly certain." He paused as his tried to find his words, "She's works away a lot and she can only visit every so often. And the last few times she's visited...something hasn't seemed right. And if I'm being honest...I haven't been happy for a while."
You could see some moisture forming in his eyes, but he quickly blinked it away.
"Why are you still with her?"
He froze, his hair blowing in the breeze being the only movement on his body. Finally, he let out a breath and shook his head, "I really don't know. She stuck with me while I was broke and trying to make something of myself."
"You don't owe her anything if you're not happy. You know that, right?" You thought for a second, "And if you're sure that she's cheating on you...then-"
"She was using the bathroom and she got a text. I thought it was my phone so I grabbed it and there were all these messages, you know...I can't believe she'd do that to me."
"You don't deserve this Taron." You gently placed your hand on his knee, and he broke his gaze from the floor to look at the contact.
He kept his eyes on your hand for a short moment before you started to pull it away, but he quickly stopped you, "No, don't."
"Taron-"
He cut you off mid-sentence, pressing his lips to yours, gently but hungrily. His hand ran up your arm, finding its way to cup to your face, fingers pulling at your hair.
You melted into him for a moment, before feeling a stab of guilt. You pulled away quickly, placing your hand over his that was still placed on the side of your face. His forehead pressed against yours, his eyes burning into you.
"We shouldn't...I mean, you still have a girlfriend." You whispered.
"But I-" Taron started, moving into you closer.
"No, it's not right." You held his hand and pushed it away from you.
Taron closed his eyes for a moment before nodding gently. You rose to your feet and clipped the leash onto Riley who was sniffing down by your feet.
"Call me when you've got everything figured out."

Pause
It's been a minute, but I'm kinda back! I have no idea how many Taron fan blogs are still active over here, but hopefully some of you manage to see this and feel like returning to read my writing. I've had ideas for the trilogy ending floating around for years now but not had the time or passion to commit to putting anything down in writing until now. So we'll see how this goes!
If you're new to my blog and my writing then hello and thanks for joining! Pause follows on from Rewind and Fast Forward which can be found in my Masterlist. It's an AU setting where Taron isn't a famous actor. Contains smut, angst, fluff - all the good stuff really, so expect more!
Chapter 1
“Do you think you’ll make any resolutions for the New Year?” Taron asked casually as he placed his book down on the bedside table before pulling the covers up his chest in search of warmth from the cool winter night air.
“I have something in mind, but I don’t think it counts as a resolution really… it’s actually starting to feel like a lifelong dream, it’s been that long!” You turned onto your side and smiled up at him.
“Yeah?”
“As if you need me to explain further!”
There was a small pout which formed on his lips, and the deep crease between his brows as he considered what you were referring to.
“Well, it’s going to be one of two things…” he paused, watching as you pulled your left hand out from the covers and placed it deliberately onto his chest, focusing clearly on the engagement ring which had adorned your ring finger for the last 5 years. “Just one thing then.” He grinned widely as he raised your hand to his lips.
“I know we got engaged pretty quickly, and we’d agreed that a longer engagement would work best-”
“-And we’ve lived through a global pandemic, which made us decide to buy a house with a garden, which then needed renovating, went way over budget and took much longer than either of us had anticipated!” Taron was quick to add on.
“Yes.” You agreed easily. “But I’m not saying I wasn’t on board with any of that. It’s been exciting, and expensive, and stressful, but still rewarding. It’s been our life for the last few years! But now it’s done…”
“You want a new project.” Taron nodded knowingly to himself with a soft smile.
“It’s not a project!” You let go of his hand so you could push him in the shoulder as you protested back. “I want to marry you. I want to be your wife and be able to call you my husband.”
“I know, I know.” He softened, sinking down further into your bed so he could pull you in closer and hold you tight. “I want that too. Always have done, but life led us astray for a bit.”
“Next year seems calmer though.”
“Much.” He agreed with a light kiss against your temple. “I’m so up for some romance.”
“It has been a while.” There was a smile which grew wider as you felt pure excitement at the thought of marrying your best friend.
“Thankfully not since we last had sex though.”
“God, I’m so glad we chose that walk-in shower.”
“Do you think many people design their homes with where they want to have sex in mind?” The hand Taron had draped over your waist after pulling you in against him started to caress down to your bum as he thought aloud.
“I bet it’s more than you think. They just won’t admit it.” You mirrored his movements, tracing light circles against his lower back before sliding your fingers under the elastic of his boxers.
“So we’re not the only weird ones.”
“If by weird you mean loved-up, and very horny, then no.” His eyes were as dark with lust as yours when you lifted your head to place a slow kiss to his lips.
“Very horny.” He repeated before mirroring your kiss back. “And very loved-up.”
It had been a while since you’d both been in this mood. The dusty mess and chaos of builders for 18 months, followed by a busy Christmas spent at Taron’s family home had left you relying on quickies. Needs were met but certain sparks had been left to fade. Sparks which were now reigniting quickly with every touch, kiss and look between you.
His fingers laced softly into your hair, his palm cupped the side of your face and his tongue worked it’s magic against yours. There always was something about the way he kissed you that made you weak at the knees. A soft sigh escaped your mouth as he paused to look at you.
“You’re so beautiful.” He never let you reply, just kissed you again and again. There had been few moments when you felt like this. Like your life was perfect. Like you wanted to press pause and live in the exact moment forever. But this was definitely one of them.
“I love you.” You managed to say once Taron pulled back for air. It had him smiling widely.
“I love you too.”
It made you grab at the hem of his t-shirt and tug it up his torso. The love your felt was flowing through your veins and rapidly turning to lust as it reached your core. You needed him. Badly.
“Please?” You hadn’t even realised it had left your lips until Taron’s eyes returned to yours, twinkling with a smugness at your polite request.
“I’m all yours. Tell me how you want it tonight.”
“Missionary. Block everything else out. Just you. Your heat, your scent, your eyes, your weight.” You were wet at the thought. Wet at the sight of him stripping naked before you. Throbbing for him as he pulled the covers down your body to find you’d already freed yourself from your nightwear. The cold night air was swiftly replaced with his warmth. His erection pressed against you as he lowered himself between your thighs. Another kiss was shared, deep and hungry. You wrapped your arms over his shoulders, playing with the soft hair at the nape of his neck. He was gorgeously heavy when he lowered his chest to yours. Everything felt right.
“Fuck.” He swore softly, leaving his jaw lowered when he first entered you. It took a few thrusts for him to find his rhythm but once he’d settled you had his eyes back on yours. They really were beautiful, and the soft curves of his perfectly cute nose. You watched up as he took in your features too, admired the smile he’d put on your face and then thrust that bit harder to make you cry out in pleasure.
“Yes! Oh that’s good. So good.” Your fingers traced lightly over the stubble on his jaw, stopping at his chin so you could drag your thumb across his lower lip and feel his tongue licking out for you. He was quick to lower his lips to yours again, drinking in every soft moan and panted breath you gave him. Every thrust was quick and sharp. You’d done this a thousand times before and yet you still needed him just as desperately. His hand stroked up and down your outer thigh as rhythmically as he worked himself inside you. Soon he’d lifted your leg to wrap over his hip so he could reach in that little bit deeper. You bounced and rocked together, building up the heat, the pleasure, the all-consuming desire. Taron started to grunt and groan between the kisses he left to your neck, chest and lips and when it all became too much you felt a light bite pinch at the top of your shoulder. It made you tense up around him sharply. Your heels dug in to his lower back and bum; your fingers to his shoulder blades. Over and over he thrust into you, never letting up his pace or power. This wasn’t a night for clinging on to the edge.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck, please.” You hummed softly into his ear, knowing your release was imminent. “Faster.”
“Oh god.” He replied, lifting his head from your shoulder so he could touch his nose to yours and kiss you one last time. “I’m right there.”
“Me too,” You breathed back.
“Fuck.”
He came apart moments later, tipping you over the edge as he stuttered his hips, trying his best not to pause completely. Nothing could stop the grin on his face as he felt you tensing repeatedly around him. It was the first thing you saw as you opened your eyes again, receiving his lighter thrusts which brought you back down slowly.
“That was so nice.” He leant down to give you a soft kiss as he pulled out, then collapsed to his back next to you.
“We should do some more date nights now we have time again.”
“We should.” Taron agreed.
“I’d kinda forgotten how much I love admiring your face… your eyes and your jaw. You’re properly handsome, y’know?” You moved your gaze from the newly painted ceiling just in time to see the blush creeping up his cheeks.
“Stop it.” He turned to face you but then quickly looked away, bashful.
“I mean it. I want to sit opposite you and drink wine whilst drinking you in too. How did I get so lucky to have such a hot boyfriend.”
“Fiancé.” He corrected you quickly and reached out for your hand.
“Husband by this time next year.” You danced your fingertips against his.
“It really has been too long since I proposed, hasn’t it? Maybe I should do it again, y’know like how people renew their vows. I can renew my proposal…”
“You don’t need to do that.” You laughed gently at his cute idea. “I know how much you love me.”
“An insane amount. And I promise I always will love you that much too. You’re the best thing in my life and I’ll do anything to make you happy.” He wasn’t down on one knee, but lying naked next to you having just made love is a close second when it comes to grand declarations.
“Then that’s all I need to hear.” You smiled as you moved over and took his face between your hands so you could kiss him tenderly.

Dude, duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude! Does anyone even remember me? Sorry for the very long hiatus, but I’m dipping my toes back into fanfic writing. Hopefully I’m not too rusty. What better way to come back with trying out an original story, that’s right this bad boy is coming from my head.
You can all thank @justsomerandomfanfic for waking me up. Seriously, thank you so much for liking my writing. It means the world (I thought my writing was pretty bad not gonna lie haha) but I am so glad I can make someone’s day with it! Apologies in advance. Please let me know if I should add any specific warnings! Hearts, reblogs, and comments are lovely!
I am going to try and attempt a GN reader x Eggsy (please let me know if I need to fix anything)
Eggsy x GN Reader
Word Count: A little over 1k
Warnings: Implied fighting and not so great friends (it’s not too bad tho)
It was supposed to be just a chill night out with some friends at a rather less crowded bar. Yeah it was anything but that. Once the words “Manners, maketh, man.” were thrown into the mix and all bets were off the table. Various objects like tables, chairs, and umbrellas went flying as their eyes scanned to find various things.
1. Find a safe exit (The front doors had been barricaded shut, but there’s got to be an emergency exit somewhere in this dump).
2. Stick with the people you know.
3. Get out.
After a few close attempts the group decided to book it for an exit that was in the back of the little kitchen in the bar. The friends left in a hurry not giving their final remaining friend a clear plan.
“Thanks guys! Thanks for not TELLING ME THE PLAN!” The tone was in the midst of transitioning from rather annoyed to fearing for their life. But rather than hearing screams and carious grunts the room was eerily silent. It’s at this moment that they realized someone just saw their outburst. Turning to face the one man army they noticed the umbrella that had been previously used to take out at least half of the patrons in the bar who are currently laying on the ground. “Put the umbrella down.” The rather well dressed man slowly followed orders as he gently placed his Kingsman umbrella onto the floor. “Now, unlock the doors.” With some loud clicking the entrance was now unlocked. “Ok I’m going to leave.” It was an agonizingly slow exit as they never turned their back on the stranger.
“Sorry I ruined your night out.” Once his accent came out their heart dropped just the tiniest bit, it didn’t help that he sheepishly scratched the back of his neck exposing a rather good physique in the muscles of his arms.
“No, do not try to play the cute guy card with me.” Their hands pressed onto their hips as the shortness of breath from the entire situation finally caught up. A strained sigh came over as the lights reflecting off the rainy pavements were not helping.
“The cute card?” His hands fixed his suit as he finally exited the bar smoothly opening the umbrella right over both of their heads. “I’d rather say I’m just charming in general.” His wink was met with a side eye. “Alright I kind of get the sense that maybe I did something wrong.”
“Hmmmm I’m not sure let me go ask someone in the bar if they know,” It was the fake walk back to the bar that made him chuckle. “Oh yeah that’s right, they’re all passed out!”
“Would it make you feel better if I said I was Batman or something?”
“Batman doesn’t fight crime dressed like Bruce Wayne.”
“Batman isn’t Bruce Wayne.” The seriousness in his voice just made the joke even better. Their eyes rolled with a smile as a well deserved slug was met on his shoulder. “Let’s start over,” He offered his hand for a shake. “Eggsy.”
“Eggsy?” The bridge of their nose scrunched up in thought. “I haven’t been in the UK that long but I will admit that’s the most unique name I’ve come across so far.”
“Well my real name is Gary but I go by Eggsy!” His face was beaming as he explained the story of his nickname. On the other hand the poor bystander was just wanting to go home.
“Yeah that’s really cool and all but I kind of need to get home.” It was their polite yet desperate grimace and the shuffling of feet that made Eggsy connect the dots. Maybe don’t go straight for someone you’re interested in right after making them think they were your next victim. The string of muttered curses that left his lips made it hard to not fall deeper into the surprisingly chill and trendy guy. “Y/N, forgot to tell you. That’s my name.” Finally learning the mystery person’s name gave Eggsy a little faith that he wasn’t a complete failure with charming someone.
“That has to be the weirdest name I’ve ever heard.”
“Oh shut up!” In what would be the weirdest of situations the two found light at the end of the tunnel, a blossoming friendship that Eggsy only dreamed would turn into something else only with time. “No but seriously I have work at 7AM, I need sleep.”
“Do you need a ride?” A part of Eggsy was holding onto hope that the offer would be accepted but he knew the chances were slim.
“As much fun as that sounds, I drove here.” Y/N held up their keys as they pressed the lock button a couple of times causing the car to beep back. “Thanks for the offer.” The night was cold as they rubbed their hands together. “I hope to never see you pissed off at a bar ever again.” A cheesy smile was plastered on their face as Eggsy’s face flushed slightly but due to the cold weather he was able to hide it.
“Yeah hopefully next time we meet, it isn’t like this.” Y/N’s head turned towards him as they laughed a bit.
“What do you want my number or something?” The laugh died fairly quickly as they noticed the look on his face.
“I mean, I wouldn’t be opposed.” He gently kicked a nearby rock. After a quick number exchange the two finally went their separate ways. Y/N noticed the number scribbled on the back of some business card as they slipped it over for further inspection.
“Kingsman?” Some store they had never heard of as they just got in their car and headed back to their apartment. Opening the door their roommate came barreling through giving them a hug.
“Oh my gosh, I was so worried when we lost you at the bar!” Y/N’s shoulders slumped into the hug.
“Yeah you guys were real worried alright.” The tone and sentiment were definitely called for especially since nobody even reached out to help. Not wanting to give it the light of day Y/N just went to their own little room and locked the door. That whole friends thing was for another day, but not now.
The next morning was uneventful as their shift went by with nothing really special happening. Not a bad day, not a good day, just a day. But hey at least the customer’s weren’t the absolute worst today.
“Can I clock out?” The manager slightly jumped in her seat not noticing their hire, engrossed in their emails.
“Oh yeah, thanks for your help.” And with the okay to leave it was a race to find somewhere to get food. With food on the brain, they almost passed something until a shiny golden logo caught their eye. It was the Kingsman store, Y/N took a peek through the window to see what exactly was being sold there but was met with Eggsy who sat across from another man dressed up just like him.
“No way.”

RHW: Chapter Ten
Story Page / Playlist / Wattpad / AO3
PLEASE READ: I don't quite have the words to describe how I feel right now. After 14 months of planning, writing, editing, reading, and editing some more, Right Here, Waiting is finished. Other than the epilogue, which comes out next weekend, the story of Liliana and Taron has come to a close. I have had the best time with this story and I love that you have all loved it the way I have.
And I just want to throw an extra special thank you to the one and only @brayndilyn. Not only has she become a close friend this past year, she has also held me up at times when she didn't know I needed it. Without her and her dedication to this story, it wouldn't be half as good as what it is. She gave me knowledge on New York, and she's been the smut queen for me.

May 20th, 2022
It was early evening by the time they drove into Fort William. Both Liliana and Taron were exhausted and wanted nothing more than to curl up in bed and sleep until the following day. They had been on the road for almost twelve hours, and they hadn’t slept much the night before.
After spending so much time thinking about things that they could potentially do on their weekend excursion, it was nice that they were finally close enough to rest and spend a couple of days together just the two of them. They had nothing else to worry about except one another.
Taron had intended to surprise Liliana with the trip at the beginning of the month, but with conflicting work schedules and commitments that they couldn’t get out of, they weren’t both free at the same time until a couple of weeks later. He had planned for them to celebrate six months since they first reunited at the book launch.
He also wanted to celebrate Liliana and her having handed in the first chapter of her second book. She had worked tirelessly to come up with a new concept, and had spent more time in meetings and at coffee shops writing than she had anything else. Taron wanted her to have a couple of days to relax and not have to think about anything.
When he’d come up with the idea to surprise her with their first trip away as a couple, Taron had talked to his mum constantly trying to think of places to go for the weekend. It wasn’t until Liliana had suggested they head up to Edinburgh for the Christmas Markets that Taron thought of the Scottish Highlands.
Liliana had spent some of the most pivotal years of her life in Scotland, but had never managed to take a trip to the Highlands like she’d always wanted to. She had mentioned to Taron that it was a place she would love to visit, so Taron knew that he’d found the perfect getaway for them.
It also gave him the perfect excuse to introduce her to one of his favourite pastimes, weekends in the campervan where they could stop wherever they wanted to take in the views or have a break.
He hadn’t wanted to tell Liliana about the trip until the day before they left, but when he’d left a tab open on his laptop on the one day that Liliana got home from work early and saw it a week before the trip, he had to tell her. Liliana couldn’t have been more excited if she tried.
For days she researched things that they could do, and the best places to eat. They were only going to be in Scotland for three days but she wanted them to have options and to know where things were so that they didn’t have to spend much of their time looking for places to eat.
The closer the trip got, the more Liliana’s excitement grew. She kept looking at photos of places where they could park the campervan and she would show Taron each of them. When she wasn’t looking at photos, she was looking up the best service stations that they could go to on the drive for bathroom breaks and to buy more snacks to get them through.
On the morning that they left, Taron made sure that they had enough fuel to get them a decent way up the country and made all of the necessary checks to the campervan so that they knew they would be safe, and Liliana made them both a flask of coffee to help them stay awake on the journey.
They left the flat at six thirty that morning but didn’t pull into the Morrisons car park in Fort William until almost six in the evening. Taron had hoped to get there a couple of hours earlier, but on their lunch stop, they ate and then decided to have a quick nap to refresh themselves for the afternoon stint of driving.
The nap wasn’t enough to stop them from being exhausted when they got to Scotland. Liliana couldn’t imagine how much more tired Taron was than her, as he’d been the sole driver. Many of the stops had been so that he could stretch his legs and gain feeling in his bum that had gone numb multiple times.
A little while before they got to Fort William, Liliana had compiled a list in her phone of things that they should buy to put them on for the weekend. Taron let her take charge in the shop, following her around as she put food in the trolley.
‘So we’re only getting stuff for breakfast and lunch?’ Liliana asked as they got to the sausages.
‘Yeah,’ Taron nodded. ‘I was thinking we could grab pizza on the way to our first stop tonight, and then tomorrow we could go to a pub or something. Then Sunday we’ll be on the way back so we’ll be getting food on the road.’
‘Fair enough. Do you have a gas cooker or something in the van?’
‘Yep. But the pans in the van are quite small.’
‘That’s fine.’ Liliana grabbed a pack of sausages from the fridge and started to head towards the bread section. ‘Sausage sandwiches for breakfast tomorrow? We could use the leftover sausages to make that hash that I cook and you love?’
Taron’s eyes lit up and he nodded dramatically. ‘We could have that for breakfast on Sunday before we set off home? That way we’ve got something hearty in us. There’s some spices and stuff already in the cupboard too.’
‘That sounds like a plan. I just need some tinned potatoes and a tin of beans then and that’s breakfast sorted.’
They continued around the shop getting bits that they would need, and a few extras that they could enjoy. Liliana grabbed some marshmallows and digestive biscuits. Having not had S’mores in years, she felt it only fitting that they have them at least once while they were away.
While Liliana was looking at bottles of wine, Taron slyly put a bottle of Champagne in the trolley underneath the rest of the food. He knew that Liliana wouldn’t pay attention to anything that happened at the tills so she wouldn’t see it until he wanted her to.
Taron had already planned where they were going to stop that first night, and it was only a short drive to get there. Once they were a safe distance away from the side of the road, and in an area where it was legal to park overnight, Taron opened the back doors of the campervan so that they could eat while looking out at the River Lochy.
Liliana grabbed two plates from the storage box and plated their pizza. The bottom of the pizza boxes were covered in grease from the pizza and she didn’t want them to stain the bed sheets.
As they lounged on the bed eating, they enjoyed the gentle breeze that floated across the water and into the van. A few leaves that had fallen to the ground danced around in tiny swirls before they landed on the water and drifted to waters unknown.
Liliana rested her head against Taron’s shoulder once she’d finished her pizza, and Taron let his hand move to her knee where he squeezed it gently.
‘Thank you for this, my love,’ she said softly as a leaf found its way into the campervan.
‘You are more than welcome, Love Bug. What do you think? Should we make a campfire tonight? It’s still quite early and the sun will set soon so we’ll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy it?
‘I meant it that I wanted you to have this weekend to relax. I want us to be able to spend forty eight uninterrupted hours of us. You, me, the waters of Scotland, the campervan, sex. Lots and lots of sex.’
Liliana let out a laugh before she leaned up to press her lips to Taron’s. His tongue ran along her bottom lip and she granted him access, twisting so that she could climb over him and straddle his lap.
Taron chuckled into the kiss as his hands roamed down to grip onto Liliana’s bum. She gasped into his mouth and he swallowed it whole, leaning forward just enough that Liliana had to wrap her arms around his neck to hold herself upright.
Pulling away just enough to rest her forehead against Taron, Liliana moved her hands to cup his neck softly. ‘A bonfire sounds good.’
‘All of that and all you got out of it was that a bonfire sounds good?’ Taron questioned with a guffaw that filled the camper. Liliana basked in the sound, and wished that she could listen to it on repeat for all of eternity. ‘Really?’
‘The sex sounds alright too, I guess.’ Liliana teased Taron and she knew it worked when he squeezed the flesh of her behind. ‘Forty eight uninterrupted hours of sex with you?’
Taron nodded against her before he pecked her lips three times in quick succession. ‘Who else would you be having sex with?’
‘Nobody as good as you.’
‘Fuck, Lil, where have you been hiding all this time?’
Taron tensed the second the words left his mouth. Liliana tensed at the same time and pulled away from him slightly. But she remained on his lap, looking at him with an intense concentration that left Taron concerned and curious.
It had been a while since any conversation relating to the time where they weren’t talking had been brought up. They’d gotten into a good routine of being able to ignore it, but Taron knew that mentioning hiding would have Liliana reeling and her feelings all over the place.
He looked at Liliana who looked back at him. She bit the inside of her mouth and took a deep breath before reaching a hand up to cup his cheek. Taron immediately leaned in to the touch and Liliana smiled at him a little. She had tears in her eyes and Taron wished for nothing more than to be able to reword everything.
‘Lil, I’m so sorry.’
‘It’s fine,’ Liliana sniffled through a tiny smile.
Taron shook his head firmly. ‘It’s not fine, Liliana. I should have thought about what I was saying more. I didn’t mean it like-’
‘I know you didn’t. That’s why it’s fine.’
A tear managed to escape down Liliana’s cheek despite her best efforts to stop herself from crying. Taron wiped it away as fast as he could, and Liliana shook her head at him gently.
‘I worried that coming to Scotland would bring up a lot of old memories for me. That’s why I went really crazy about looking at things that we could do and eat. I didn’t want to have a moment to think back to being a teenager and everything.’
‘Oh shit,’ Taron sighed. He pulled Liliana into his arms and rocked her softly. In all of his haste to plan the perfect trip for them, he hadn’t even thought about what being back in Scotland could do to Liliana and how she would feel. ‘I didn’t even think about that. I am so sorry. Do you want to go back home?’
Liliana shook her head with as much firmness as Taron had previously. She curled into him a little tighter but tilted her head up so that she could look at him. Her hand was still on his cheek and she could feel his heart beating against hers.
‘Don’t be sorry. I promise I’m okay. I’m a little embarrassed because I’m emotional and trying to hold back the tears, but they aren’t the kind of tears that I expected.’
Taron’s eyebrows wrinkled in the middle and Liliana rubbed them away with the pad of her thumb. ‘How so?’
‘I expected being here to make me feel like the person I was back then. I felt small and unseen. My entire world came crumbling down when I got on the train. But it wasn’t my world of being at home. It wasn’t because I was leaving my family behind. It was because I was leaving you behind. You were my world, and leaving you broke me.
‘It took a lot of therapy time to come to terms with everything I went through, as I’ve told you before. I’m not going into that because this is our holiday and I’m trying really hard not to be a party pooper right now.’
‘You could do no such thing,’ Taron whispered. He kissed the top of Liliana’s head and her eyes fluttered closed for a short second. ‘I mean it, if you want to talk about everything that happened, then by all means tell me. If you’d rather not, then you don’t have to.’
Liliana took a moment to respond. She looked out at the river and allowed her breathing to sync up with the slow current. Everything she said here would be whisked away by the breeze and the water. The thought alone made her feel a little better.
‘I always wondered what it would be like to have you in Edinburgh with me,’ she continued after she was sure she wouldn’t cry any more. ‘Or what it would be like if I hadn’t left when I did. The past few months have been amazing and it makes me wonder if we would have admitted our feelings earlier if we’d have been together.’
Taron’s chest rose and fell against Liliana’s cheek as he looked out over the water. The sun had started to set and filled the campervan with a beautiful orange glow.
‘I don’t know,’ he answered truthfully. ‘I was so scared to confess how I felt back then that I potentially wouldn’t have said anything in pure terror that you’d have laughed in my face.’
‘I would never,’ Liliana said quickly.
‘I know but I wasn’t much to look at back then, was I?’
‘Yes, you were.’
Taron laughed as though he didn’t believe a word she was saying, and Liliana twisted again so that she could look at him face to face.
‘You were the most gorgeous boy in our year,’ she told him truthfully, her hands moving to cup his cheeks. ‘I didn’t look at any other boy but you. Nothing has changed in that respect.’
She laughed to herself and leaned forward just enough to capture Taron’s lip with her own.
‘Don’t flatter me like that, Love bug.’
‘I wouldn’t dream of it.’ Liliana smiled up at him and kissed him once more before moving to straddle him again. ‘You were, and continue to be, the most beautiful man I’ve ever known. And it’s not just your looks, because you are stunning beyond belief, it’s how whenever we’re in a room full of people, you’re always already looking at me when I glance at you.’
‘It’s the way you send me songs when they remind you of me. It’s the way that you pull me into a dance whenever there’s music playing and we’re out, or when we’re at home. It’s the fact that you’re my best friend.
‘It’s you driving me around on a night time when I’ve had a shit day and just need to cry. It’s the way you caught me when I fell. The way you kiss me like your life depends on it.
‘It’s you buying books I love and reading them just so that you can talk to me about them. I know you didn’t think I knew, but I knew, and I love it. But most of all, it’s the fact that I know you’re here to stay. After everything we’ve been through, I know that you’re not going to let go of me just as much as I’m not going to run away again.
‘There’s no genuine evidence for thinking that. Because we don’t know what’s going to happen. We don’t know what’s going to happen two days from now, or two years. But I believe it anyway. I love you.’
Taron blinked back the tears that had filled his eyes. Liliana cupped his cheeks and wiped the ones that fell away as she leaned forward to kiss his lips. Taron sniffled quietly while he held Liliana impossibly close to his body.
Her heart beat hard against his chest, and his eyes fluttered softly down at her. She looked at him with big eyes as she continued to wipe away his tears.
‘I’m sorry,’ she mumbled against his ear. ‘I didn’t mean to make you cry.’
‘They’re not sad tears.’ Taron sniffled again and moved Liliana so he could kiss her again.
Her lips were soft against his and she granted him immediate access when he traced her lower lip with his tongue. Liliana ran her hands through the hair at the nape of Taron’s neck, and he roamed his hands down the length of her back until he cupped her bum again.
Liliana moaned into his mouth and he chuckled softly, pulling her hips tightly over his. The response in his dick was almost instant, and Liliana ground against him on her own to try and get Taron to make the moans that had her weak at the knees.
‘I can tell what you’re doing,’ he mumbled against her lips when he pulled away for breath.
‘I am merely loving on my boyfriend,’ Liliana smirked, grinding her hips once more. Taron held her hips tightly to still her movements so that he could lean her backwards to lay on the bed. ‘I can tell what you’re doing, mister.’
‘Me? I am merely loving on my girlfriend.’
Liliana raised her eyebrows at Taron who simply winked at her before leaning to capture her lips once more. He was hard against Liliana’s core and she moaned into him when he moved their hips together. Taron loved the sounds that left her, and wished for nothing more than to be the one to make her moan that way for the rest of her life.
‘Love on me all you want, T.’
‘Well if you insist.’
Liliana hadn’t realised just how small the campervan was until they attempted to undress one another in the space. Taron’s head hit the roof multiple times, and Liliana almost knocked over everything on the one shelf as she lifted her arms when Taron removed her top.
In the end they decided against trying to be sensual and to just undress themselves to save from anymore injuries. They both laid on the bed and shimmied their bottoms and underwear off at the same time which made them both giggle like school kids.
When they were naked, Taron tucked a piece of hair behind Liliana’s ear and let his fingers drift down her neck and to her collarbone where he leaned down to kiss. Liliana’s eyes closed shut and her hands found their way to Taron’s hair. She tugged it softly and Taron groaned delicately onto her skin.
His lips planted kisses down her chest until he got to her breast. He let his tongue run around Liliana’s nipple before he sucked it into his mouth. Liliana moaned loudly and tugged his hair tighter.
‘That feels so good,’ she whimpered when he took her other breast in his hand and pinched her nipple. ‘I need you, Taron.’
‘Patience, Love Bug. I want to take my time with you today. I haven’t had the chance to do that recently, and you deserve all of the love and care I can give you.’
Liliana peered down at him and protruded her lips into a small pout. Taron, used to her always begging for the end, was not deterred by her action.
‘Not yet, sweet girl. Like I said, we have forty-eight uninterrupted hours of just us, and I am going to savour every single one of them.’
Taron continued his tour of Liliana’s body, kissing all of his favourite parts of her. Because that was all of her, it was a long, drawn out expedition that had Liliana moaning next to him. Taron loved every second of the journey, and he loved it more and more each day.
By the time he got to the tops of her thighs, he was laid between her thighs and Liliana squirmed above him, but he took extra time licking and kissing her skin on his way to her centre. Though he never kissed exactly where she needed him to.
He used one free hand to steady her squirming underneath him and the other to rub small, delicate circles into the thigh he wasn’t kissing and nipping.
‘Taron, please. I need you, baby.’ Liliana begged Taron as the inferno grew hotter between her legs. She was desperate to feel the fullness of Taron inside her. It was her favourite feeling.
‘I haven’t quite finished my worship of you. Now, if you please, stop squirming and let me continue this or I promise, it will take a lot longer than you’d like. I could do this all day.’ Taron looked up from between her thighs and grinned as though he were the devil. It was a sweet smile laced with desire and passion.
‘You are such a tease, Egerton,’ Liliana whimpered above him. Her hands had found their way to his hair and she massaged his scalp, smirking to herself when he struggled to keep his eyes open. ‘But just know the next time I get my hands on you, you are getting the same treatment.’
She huffed in playful frustration before she pushed herself back into the covers to begrudgingly admit defeat. Taron only smirked at her with a wink so small it was almost unnoticeable.
‘Oh, baby girl, I very much look forward to it.’
With Liliana still above him, Taron continued to kiss down her leg until he got to her ankle. The hand that had held her stomach trailed down her leg until he could squeeze her foot lovingly. Liliana sighed above him before tilting her head to look at him.
Taron looked up at her through thick eyelashes and the sight was enough for Liliana to need to press her legs together to get some friction. But Taron stopped her, using his hand to anchor her legs apart.
‘I don’t think so. You’re going to be a good girl and let me do this, or you don’t get to cum until I say you can.’
Liliana gulped as her eyes widened slightly. Her heart beat ten times faster in her chest as she looked at Taron. He watched her for a minute before he started to kiss back up her leg where he settled himself comfortably between them both.
He held onto her thigh as he leaned down to press a kiss to her entrance. His nose brushed against her clit and Liliana’s legs jerked under him. Liliana’s hands gripped the covers by her side. The sensation sent her into overdrive and all the pent up emotion and teasing pushed her close to her release.
Taron let his tongue run from her entrance to her clit where he licked and sucked at a pace that he thought would tease Liliana. But along with everything else she felt that night, it brought her orgasm on faster than she had been expecting.
Liliana moaned above Taron and her hips lifted away from the mattress and into Taron’s face more. Taron grabbed onto her bum and held her in place as he continued to kiss and suck her core to help her ride the waves of her orgasm.
He watched her chest rise and fall rapidly as she came down from the high, and he let his thumbs massage the sides of her thighs to help calm her down.
When Liliana had come back down to earth finally, Taron moved himself up her body so that he could kiss her. Liliana tasted herself on his lips and her eyes fell closed. It was such an intimately erotic action and she couldn’t get enough.
All of the teasing had affected Taron as well, and he was harder than he thought possible. He’d started to leak pre-cum and was getting increasingly uncomfortable the longer he waited to do the one thing he wanted to. His patience had worn thin and as he looked at Liliana, the desire was bright in his eyes.
‘I’m not quite finished with you yet, Love Bug. Ready for another? Maybe two?’
Liliana nodded through a dazed look. ‘Always ready for you, my love.’
Taron lined himself up with Liliana’s entrance and let out a deep groan at the feeling that shot through his body. Liliana gripped the back of his neck and pulled him down to kiss her again. He obliged and let his lips linger as he entered her. He pushed up into her so hard that the bed shifted and Liliana knocked her head on the metal wall that separated them from the cab.
Liliana rubbed her head to ease the pain that formed while she let out a strained laugh. Taron’s eyes widened and he stilled inside her while he pulled his lips into his mouth. He tried to hold back a laugh while he placed his hand on top of Liliana’s.
‘Are you okay?’
Liliana slapped Taron’s chest playfully. ‘You need to be more careful. There’s less room here than at home.’
‘You’re the one that jumped me in this tiny van.’
Liliana’s eyes widened and her mouth dropped open in shock. ‘Piss off. You know that you’re the one who started this.’
‘Touché,’ Taron laughed softly, leaning down to kiss Liliana once, twice, three times. ‘Are you sure you’re okay?’
Liliana nodded. ‘Yeah. Please move, you’re killing me here.’
Taron pulled out of her until only the tip of his dick teased her entrance.
‘T, what are you doing? Stop teasing me and get on with it already,’ Liliana whimpered. She was so riled up from one orgasm already that having the full feeling of Taron buried inside her being snatched away so quickly made her need for him even stronger. She clawed at his back to hold him close. ‘Please.’
Taron leaned in close to her ear, grabbed a fistful of her hair and tugged it slightly while growling, ‘I told you before, be a good girl for me…or I won’t let you cum until I say so.’
Liliana had seen Taron take control with her before and she loved it, but he had never been so dominant. She didn’t think it was possible considering how sweet he was, but it was making her even more soaked. No matter how much she tried to squeeze her legs around Taron, he used his hips to keep them apart.
His eyes were a deeper shade of green when he pulled away from Liliana’s ear, and she looked at him with a shaky breath. ‘I’ll be good, T, please let me cum.’
‘We shall see,’ Taron said as he cocked an eyebrow and slammed back into her at the same time.
To keep her in place, Taron grabbed both of her wrists and pinned them to the pillow next to her head while he thrust in and out of her. Not having control of her hands normally would have made Liliana uncomfortable, but with Taron she felt safe and it turned her on more than she cared to admit.
‘Fuck, Taron, that feels so good,’ she moaned loudly. Taron kept his pace but thrust into her so hard that she could feel him in her stomach.
Taron moved his hands from her wrists and intertwined their fingers instead, kissing her with a ferocity that caught him off guard just as much as it did Liliana. He knew that he wanted to coax at least two more orgasms out of Liliana before he reached his own climax, so he slowed his pace slightly and reigned himself in so he could last longer for her.
He could tell that Liliana was close to her second orgasm thanks to the constant stream of moans that Taron adored so much. Her walls clenched around him and he kept the pace as he leaned down to kiss her once.
‘That’s a good girl. Now, cum for me, Lil.’
It was unusual for Liliana to orgasm from penetration alone, but Taron’s commands had her coming undone for a second time. This second one was stronger than the first. Their hands were still intertwined next to her head and all Liliana could do was absorb the pleasure. She let out multiple, noise defying moans with some expletives mixed in.
While it was unlikely with how remote the area they were in was, Taron leaned down to swallow her moans with kisses just in case someone was around and could hear them. The back doors of the campervan were still open and a chill breeze drifted in and whispered against their clammy skin, but they were so caught up in each other that they couldn’t care less.
‘That’s my gorgeous girl.’ Taron continued to thrust through Liliana’s orgasm so that she had no time to recover. Watching her come undone underneath him made his entire body ignite in a fire he hadn’t known before. ‘Keep going.’
‘I can’t,’ Liliana whimpered pitifully. ‘I can’t.’
‘You can,’ Taron nodded. ‘I know you’ve got it in you. You could let go at least four more times.’
Liliana shook her head.
‘You can. I know you can. Just give me one more, baby girl. Gimme one more like the good girl you are.’
Holding himself at bay through two of Liliana’s orgasms was not an easy feat for Taron and he now became a man on a mission, keeping his thrusts at a constant pace. Liliana moved her legs up to wrap them around Taron’s waist to pull him in deeper and to keep her knees from hitting the side of the van.
‘Feels so good, T. You make me feel so good.’
‘Fuck, yes, Lil, you feel amazing.’ Taron could feel himself getting close to his own climax and he knew that it wouldn’t take long for Liliana to fall into her third orgasm of the night. He moved one of his hands down between them where they met to rub circles on her clit, knowing that it was the fastest way to get her going.
Liliana wrapped her arms around Taron’s neck and arched her back off the bed so that they were chest to chest. She could feel the pleasure building in her core as Taron continued to rub circles into her clit and she let herself fall into an abyss of pleasure, shouting out Taron’s name. Her orgasm squeezed Taron and his own orgasm washed over him. He emptied himself inside Liliana and rode out both of their orgasms with a few final thrusts.
Completely spent, they both laid there for a few moments, their breaths heavy and their skin sweaty and sticky. After a few moments, Taron very carefully flipped them over so that Liliana was laying on his chest.
Taron landed a playful slap on Liliana’s bum and praised her, ‘Good girl, you took me so well. Told you that you could give me another.’ Liliana’s wits were still too scrambled to form a coherent thought so she just let out a few moans and mumbles while she nodded into his chest. Taron chuckled and kissed the top of her head.
They laid together in complete silence, just letting the soothing sounds of nature surround them. Liliana couldn’t help but notice how peaceful the moment felt. By all accounts, she should have felt incredibly shy. She just had three orgasms with the doors of the campervan open, while Taron commanded her and she enjoyed it. She had never known this side of her, but instead of feeling awkward, she only felt safe and loved. This was the life she was supposed to be living and it felt calm.
After a few more moments of silence, Taron leaned his head up, ‘What do you say we just skip the bonfire tonight and get some sleep?’
‘We were going to have a bonfire? I thought you just wanted uninterrupted sex?’ Liliana looked up and winked at him as she said it. Taron chuckled softly and rubbed his hands up and down her back until Liliana drifted off to sleep in his arms.
When Taron was sure that Liliana was fully asleep he moved her as gracefully as possible so he could get up and shut the campervan doors and close the curtains. Once that was done, he climbed back into the bed and pulled Liliana’s back to his chest and covered them both. She adjusted slightly and scooted her bum right up to his hips, but didn’t wake up. Taron shook his head to himself and whispered, ‘Sleep well, my love’ before drifting off himself.
May 21st, 2022
Liliana woke to the sound of the rain that pelted against the roof of the campervan. She pulled the covers around her to keep out the chill that had made its way into the space despite the doors being closed and the curtains being drawn. Taron remained tucked tightly at Liliana’s back, and his light snores mixed with the rain lulled Liliana back to sleep.
The rain had stopped by the time she woke up again. It was silent outside besides the rushing of water at a small stream that had formed off of the river, leading to the campervan. The silence was loud, and Liliana grabbed her phone in an effort to stop her mind from racing.
She’d taken a series of photos the previous day of the drive through Scotland and she wanted to post them to Instagram, but before she could, she saw a post that stopped her in her tracks.
In all of the excitement of getting to Fort William and spending time with Taron the previous day, she’d somehow forgotten that the new Harry Styles album had dropped and she’d missed it. For six weeks she had listened to As It Was on repeat and had done nothing but talk about her excitement for the full album.
It was just past seven and Liliana knew that Taron wouldn’t be awake for another hour or so at least, and then the chances of him falling back to sleep were high, so she knew that she would have time to listen to the album the way she’d wanted to, song at a time with a short break between each one to really think about it.
When she opened Spotify to listen to the album, the rain started up again and created a gentle beat against the metal roof above her. The sound of the rain and the comfort of Taron being curled up into her back made for the perfect time to listen.
Her earphones were in her bag and with Taron’s arms wrapped around her naked middle as tightly as they were, she knew that she wouldn’t be able to get them to listen. So she turned her volume down even more on her phone before she pressed play on the first song.
The opening notes of the first song had her hooked immediately. It was upbeat and fun, and by the time Harry belted out ‘You know I love you, babe’, Liliana had a huge grin plastered on her face. She thought about the man who slept so peacefully behind her, with his breath tickling the back of her neck, and how much she loved him.
The second song took her back to the beginning of the year when they spent many a late night talking on the phone. When they weren’t on a phone call, they were texting or just sending photos to one another to describe their evenings. Liliana had loved every second of that time.
‘Now you’re in my life / I can’t get you off my mind’ had Liliana reeling. Two lines of a song had never summed up how she felt so perfectly. She wondered how Harry had managed to inject everything she felt into the album, and she was only two songs into the album.
The first few songs had her bobbing her head softly and wiggling her feet to the beats of the songs. When Liliana’s phone lit up with a text message notification from Evelyn, she did a double take at the title of the song that just started.
Matilda.
It took a matter of seconds for Liliana’s emotions to get too much for her and for tears to stream down her cheeks. By the end of the song, her entire body shook as she sobbed. She tried her best to calm her breathing so that she wouldn’t wake Taron, and she had to pause the album so that she didn’t miss anything while crying.
Liliana couldn’t quite comprehend how one song could make her feel so many conflicting emotions. For a second she was tempted to wake Taron so that she could talk through it with him, but he got so little time away from work and was always the first person to comfort her so she let him sleep for a little longer.
She played the song for a second time so that she could be sure she heard it properly the first time. The second listen made her cry even more. It was a song that spoke to her on a visceral level, and she was unsure how she would ever be the same again after hearing it.
When Harry crooned ‘You can let it go / You can throw a party full of everyone you know / You can start a family who will always show you love / You don’t have to be sorry for doing it on your own’, Liliana’s breath caught in her throat.
Taron had gone above and beyond for her for so long, and it took until then for Liliana to know just how badly she needed everything he’d offered her. She finally took the time to acknowledge that she was ready to accept everything he offered her, no matter how scary it was.
One of her favourite quotes from university pops into her mind. ‘It doesn’t take a lot of strength to hang on. It takes a lot of strength to let go’. Listening to Harry tell her that she can let everything go made everything click into place.
She’d spent so much of her life worrying that she’d been weak for leaving and running to Edinburgh. To Liliana, she had left the hard life to move on to a new life. But now she knew that wasn’t the case. It had taken strength to leave.
Liliana stared at the curtains on the campervan. Tears still clouded her vision but she was a little more in control of her emotions by that point. She thought about everything that had happened with Taron, and what could still happen.
Liliana was finally ready to open up completely. She wanted to start a new life with Taron, and to let all of the pain from her past go. The thought of being free from the guilt of leaving and not seeing Matilda made her shake a little in her spot.
In the past few months, her relationship with Matilda had grown even more, and they were closer than ever. Liliana had bought Matilda her own phone so that she didn’t have to use Eliza’s to contact her, and they texted at least once a day, if not more.
Liliana also accepted the fact that she could spend time without having to spend time near her mum too. The two weren’t mutually exclusive. Liliana could go to Wales and take Matilda out for the day. Eliza never had to be a part of her time with her sister.
The final song in the album was yet another moment where Liliana stopped in her tracks, and her breath caught in her throat. Yet another song had Liliana wondering how Harry had managed to inject her life into it.
‘Baby, you were the love of my life / Maybe, you don’t know it’s lost til you find it / It’s not what I wanted / To leave you behind / Don’t know where you’ll land when you fly / But baby, you were the love of my life’.
Taron was the love of her life. They had only been dating for a couple of months, but everything from their past led Liliana to believe that she would never love anybody the way that she loved Taron. She hadn’t realised how much she loved him when she left for Edinburgh, until she was there.
Now that she had him back, she wouldn’t let him go. Not if she could help it. Taron was everything Liliana had ever needed, and she was willing to do anything she could to show Taron that she wanted him and that she would love him with everything in her being.
***
After an afternoon of hiking up Ben Nevis and an evening eating food in a local pub before they headed to their second stop off for the night, a bonfire by the water was just what Taron and Liliana needed to unwind.
Liliana had listened to the album another two times during the day, once on her own when they were headed up a particularly difficult part of the mountain, and once with Taron. The entire time he listened to it, Taron looked at Liliana.
He had just as many conflicting feelings as Liliana had the first time she’d listened. And when he heard Matilda for the first time, his shoulders dropped and he pulled Liliana into his body to hold her close.
While they listened, he had whispered numerous times how much he loved her, and she’d reciprocated that love. It wouldn’t be the last time that they would listen to the album together.
The heat from the bonfire warmed Liliana through to the bone as she looked over Loch Eil. It had grown chillier near the loch as the evening drew closed and nighttime ascended upon them. The moon shone bright in the sky and lit up the water’s surface with glitters of silver and white.
It was silent except for the crickets in the hills across that surrounded them, and the breeze that still wrapped around the area as though it were a warm blanket. Liliana basked in the serenity she was bathed in while Taron added more sticks to the fire to keep it alight for a little longer.
Liliana had grabbed blankets from the campervan that she and Taron could curl up in while they sat around the fire. She showed Taron how to make the best S’more and he ate so many that his stomach hurt. Liliana could only chuckle at him as she took another bite of her own with a huge grin on her face.
‘Those are good,’ Taron smiled at her. He kissed her lips and then licked his clean from the melted marshmallow that had transferred. ‘I’m just going to go grab another drink. Do you want one?’
Liliana shook her head and held her mug up at him. ‘Still got some. Thank you though, babe.’
Taron nodded as he stood from his seat and walked over to the campervan. Rocks crunched under his feet with each step. Liliana watched as he went, and bit the inside of her cheek when he wiggled his butt at her. She tittered softly and turned back to the water as he climbed into the back of the camper.
‘I’ve been thinking a lot about something,’ Taron said when he made his way back to Liliana a few seconds later. ‘I love you.’
‘I love you too,’ Liliana responded instantly. She never had to think about whether she loved him or not, it was just a fact. ‘But what’s got you thinking about that?’
Taron shook his head as he sat back down. He held his arm at the side of him and Liliana eyed it curiously. Taron ignored her glances and continued to talk.
‘I’ve been thinking about us–don’t worry, nothing bad. It’s just…what you said yesterday really struck a chord. About me and how you just know that I’m here to stay? I realised I never answered anything you said.’
‘Yeah because you were too busy giving me three orgasms,’ Liliana mused.
Taron smirked but quickly shook his head, ‘I could have made it four. Anyway, as I was saying, you are the best person I’ve ever known. You make me feel like the happiest version of me. And I honestly think that had it not been for our time apart, we wouldn’t be where we are now.’
Liliana smiled knowingly. ‘I know. I keep wondering what would have happened if I’d have stayed but I think we would have been stuck. I wouldn’t have admitted anything to you because I never would have gone through the things I did when I was in Edinburgh. I wouldn’t have gone to therapy and pieced everything together.’
‘I was so in love with you back then that I was scared I would have scared you away if I said anything. It took me losing you to realise how big of a pedestal I’d put you on back then. Not that I was wrong to, I mean, look at you.’ Taron paused to look Liliana up and down. Her cheeks grew a deeper shade of red and she pulled her lips into her mouth. ‘You are, and have always been, perfect. And you are by far the strongest person I have ever had the privilege of knowing.
‘When we listened to the album earlier, I listened and all I could think was, there’s this woman who has gone through more than I could ever comprehend and she’s still going. You’re so strong that you left and did what you needed to. Leaving made you stronger, and if I’m being honest, it made you an even better person.
‘You’re no longer the person you were back then. You’re an adult who is whole. You know what you need in a person and I hope that I can be everything for you.’
‘You are,’ Liliana whispered as she wrapped her arms around one of Taron’s and rested her head on his shoulder. ‘You’re more than everything. Everything I’ve ever wanted and needed, you are.’
Taron beamed at her words and grabbed the champagne bottle that he had been hiding and popped the cork with a flourish. ‘I bought this yesterday to celebrate six months together and all of your achievements with the second book.’ He filled his cup and Liliana’s with champagne and raised it to toast her.
‘Cheers to you Liliana, and to us, I’m so glad that we found our way back to one another,’ Taron said sincerely. ‘You are the love of my life.’
Liliana kissed his shoulder and looked at him, ‘And you’re mine. Forever.’

“For the two of us, home isn't a place. It is a person. And we are finally home.”
Taron took his hands from Robyn’s pockets and grinned towards his stylist. “Well Stella, you have impeccable timing as always. I thought you were not coming until four.”
“Taron it is four.”
Robyn looked to her watch. “It is actually three fifty three.” She corrected. “You are seven minutes early.”
The stylist, dressed in a gold pleated long skirt and white sleeveless blouse walked towards them. “Better early than late I always say and seven minutes? Not a lot of time.”
Robyn chuckled. “Seven minutes is plenty of time, believe me.” She loved the rose blush that quickly filled Taron’s cheeks. “But I guess we should let you in seeing as how you are here. It would be rude to leave you in the hallway.”
“Robyn Quinn I have missed you.” Stella stepped over to her to hug her tightly, kissing both cheeks. “A tan suits you so well. You look fabulous.”
“Thank you Stella. It is always lovely to see you too.”
Taron took the card key from his pocket and opened their hotel room door, holding it to let them in. “No Miles today?” He asked.
“Oh Miles is here and Millie.” She informed him as she walked into the room. “They are getting the bits from the car. Now, let me take a proper look at the two of you.” Once they had the door closed, they stood together, Stella walking around them both. “That is going Taron.” She said with a disapproving look, gently cupping his chin.
“Can’t some of it stay?” Robyn asked hopefully.
Stella shook her head. “Absolutely not. It may not be Taron’s red carpet but it is still a red-carpet event and a clean save is essential for a red-carpet.”
Taron lightly laughed on hearing Robyn’s sigh. He was used to those words by his stylist and knew she would always insist on a clean shave for an appearance. Robyn definitely loved his much scruffier look and he had enjoyed not having to shave for the last few days.
“You both look wonderful and that new love glow definitely suits the two of you.” She walked around them once more. “Two hours? What was I thinking. Nearly not enough time to get you ready. Right, Robyn go and sit at the make-up table, Taron in the seats by the window.” There were four quick raps on the hotel room door and Stella walked over to open it. “Come in, come in.” She called and Miles and Millie walked in, Miles carrying two garment bags while Milie pulled a case behind her. “And why are you both still standing? Shoo!” She gave the couple a little push with a smile.
“Do I get to see what my outfit is?” Robyn asked, her eyes on the garment bag which was hung up on the outside of the wardrobe door.
“Doubting me Miss Quinn?” Stella asked her arms folding over her chest.
“Never.” Robyn answered quickly. “But I would like to know what I have gotten myself into.”
Stella’s grin grew. “Taron has a suit.”
“Well I didn’t think he was going to be squeezed into a backless dress.” Robyn joked. “And me?” She asked a little worried. “It’s not another backless dress, is it?”
Stella shook her head. “Not for a few years.” She replied. “I always style my clients in something different each time and never repeat the same look for at least two years so no backless dress this time.” She walked over and picked up one of the garment bags. “I do believe the last time I saw you, I promised you a pants suit.”
“A pants suit!” Robyn’s eyes lit up. “Really?”
“Of sorts.” She placed the garment bag on the bed and zipped it open, taking out the item of clothing inside. “I picked this stunning pale pink colour, knowing you were going to have this gorgeous tan which would suit it perfectly and it is more of a jumpsuit then a pants suit.” Stella laid the jumpsuit on the bed. “Wide trouser legs with a fitted waist, it has a sweetheart neck line which I know suits you so well and the thin spaghetti straps keep it up, so you don’t have to worry about invisible tape.” Stella winked.
“It’s beautiful.” Robyn ran her hand down the trousers leg, the material a gorgeous soft satin.
“I knew you would like it.”
“You always get it right.”
“And if I didn’t I would be terrible at my job. I have paired it with some simple open toe heels and I really need to ask you now about tan lines.” Her face turned serious. “Because if you have bikini tan lines, I am walking out of this room now and will never style you again.”
Robyn laughed and shook her head, hearing Taron chuckle beside her. “Not even one on my back Stella so you don’t have to worry.” The stylist rose an eyebrow her way. “I hate an obvious tan line. Some are not avoidable but others, very easily so.” Robyn replied to her look of doubt. “See.” She pulled at the v neck of her t-shirt bringing her bra strap with her. “Not one in sight.”
“You are a dream!” Stella exclaimed. “I had another dress just in case but I desperately wanted you to wear this.”
“This is perfect.”
“I agree.” Taron said. “On both counts. The tan lines and the jump suit but maybe I can have a peak at what I have to wear too?”
Stella turned to Taron. “Mr Egerton, do you have any tan lines that I need to be weary of?”
“None that should stop me wearing whatever is in that bag.”
Stella gave his cheeks a playful pinch and after hanging Robyn’s outfit up, took down Taron’s bag. “A suit.” She confirmed as she opened the bag. “Dark grey trousers and waistcoat to match, a pale pink shirt which matches Robyn’s outfit and a darker pink tie. I left the jacket off as the weather is a little warm.”
Taron nodded with a little smile. “It’s perfect Stella. Thank you. As always, you get it right.”
“Of course I do!” She beamed. “Now, enough chit chat. We have a red-carpet to get ready for.” She ushered Taron to the chair at the window, leading Robyn to the chair at the make-up table. Standing behind her, she ran her hands through the Irish woman’s hair. “I am thinking an up style tonight. Last time it was curled and down. Maybe a side plait?”
Robyn nodded. “I love a plait.”
“And make up, not much needed at all. You Miss Quinn, are golden already with this sun tan.”
Her words made Robyn’s smile grow wider. “It will last about a week and then fade.”
“Then we had better show it off to the world.”
Stella distracted herself getting set up with pallets and brushes, placing them all on the table in front of the mirror, Robyn watching Taron’s reflection as Miles covered his shoulders in a black cloak. She knew exactly what it was for and her heart sank a little at the thought of his clean-shaven jaw and while she loved Taron with stubble or no stubble, she just wanted to have one more kiss with him before it was gone. On her feet quickly, ignoring Stella’s calls of protest, she walked over to him and grabbed his hand, yanking him up from the chair, his face in surprise.
“Robyn…” His voice was drowned out by Stella’s which was then drowned out by Robyn’s.
“I need two of my seven minutes.” She said firmly opening the bathroom door and giving Taron a push inside. “Maybe three.” She winked to Stella, closing the door behind her.
Taron’s smile was stunning, his eyes bright in the lights of the bathroom. “You are terrible Miss Quinn.”
Robyn pulled on his cloak, making him step closer to her. “I need one more kiss before you are red carpet ready.”
Four minutes later, Robyn sat back on her chair, shrugging at the stylist. “I took liberalities and an extra minute.”
Stella gently took her chin in her hands. “So much for no make-up Robyn. I now have some red marks to cover up but you may have saved me from picking a lipstick. You must stay put. I only have one hour and forty-five minutes now.”
“I won’t move.” She replied but her eyes were locked on Taron’s as he smirked at her in the refection of the glass mirror. “Not a peep either.”
Satisfied when Robyn zipped her lips, Stella nodded towards Millie, who came over to start on Robyn’s hair, while at the window, Miles was starting the process of Taron’s shave.
Exactly one hour and forty-four minutes later, Stella added one last spritz of hair spray to Robyn’s hair, then brushing some invisible specks from Taron’s shoulders, stood back to admire the couple. “First appearance together as a couple?” She asked.
“First one.” Taron confirmed as he held out his phone to her. “Would you? I am sure Robyn has a space she needs to fill on her photo wall.”
Stella snapped a quick photo of Robyn’s smile at Taron as he looked sideways at her, before she made them pose over and over, the phone ringing in her hand stopping her.
“That’s our ride.” He said taking the phone from Stella and answering the call.
“You two go and have fun. We will clean up here and it will be like we never step foot in the place.”
Robyn gave Stella a tight hug, despite her protests of creasing her jumpsuit and once she had her clutch and double checked it for what she needed to bring, took Taron’s hand and they made their way out of the hotel and into the blacked-out car.
“I don’t have to do any interviews cariad.” Taron said as they were a block away from the theatre. “A photo or two and then done.”
“Sounds perfect.”
“Then we can just go inside and find our seats. Hugh made sure we had ones right in the centre of the theatre.”
“Sounds even better.”
“The perfect view and optimum position for singing along.” He chuckled.
“There will be none of that.” Robyn blushed. “There was plenty earlier on.”
“Robyn…” Taron turned in his seat to look at her. “Really? No singing? You?”
She gently gave his thigh a poke. “Ok maybe quiet singing.” She turned to him so she could fix his tie. He looked very handsome in his waistcoat and pink shirt, his jaw smooth, his hair neatly gelled back.
Taron laughed at her. “Quiet singing indeed.” He kissed her temple, his lips lingering on her skin. “Love you.”
“Love you too.” She replied as the car stopped.
They had already decided as they travelled to New York on the plane, that they were just going to be themselves, and hold hands and let whatever happens happen. They had such luck with the media over the last year, they felt no need to hide anything when they were in public, knowing at some point, photos were going to be posted and questions were going to be asked, so getting out of the car, Taron held his hand out for Robyn and didn’t let go until they posed for a photo in front of the RENT sign, his hand slipping around her waist instead. Many photos were taken as they stood together and Robyn’s hand tickling his side, made his smile last longer than his patience for the constant calling of his names, their pace easy as they strolled towards the entrance of the theatre.
In their seats, Robyn was buzzing with excitement and the performance did not let her down. The cast were phenomenal in every way possible and she told Hugh so when they went backstage to congratulate him, still on a high as they got back to the hotel a few hours later. She kicked off her shoes and threw herself onto the bed, grinning as Taron copied her, his tie long gone and top buttons of his shirt open. She snuggled into him, her right hand gently stroking his left jaw.
“Best night.” She whispered.
“It was pretty great.” He agreed, his left hand running around her back slowly.
“So tomorrow I get to plan everything right?”
“Robyn…” He lightly tickled her side. “Yes tomorrow you can plan everything and we will go the ticket booth to see if we can get to another show.” He giggled as she lifted her body so she could place little kisses all over his face. “I guess that’s a yes then?”
They blended into the busy streets of New York the next day, no one paying them any attention at all and even when the photos appeared online of them hand in hand together at the opening night of Rent, Taron didn’t feel the usual guilt and nerves that came when their picture appeared on social media. Instead, his stomach turned with butterflies and a beautiful feeling of love for the woman who made the smile permanent on his face. Lindsey had given him a quick call about the photos and gossip and rumours online, surprised at how calm her usual panicked Taron was, telling Lindsey that he was ok with it all, asking her opinion about posting a photo on his own social media.
“It’s a beautiful photo, love.” Tina told him, two days later when her son and Robyn sat in her kitchen in Aberystwyth, catching up with each other.
“It’s the first one we ever took with each other.” Taron explained to his mam, his hand reaching for Robyn’s hand across the table. “It just felt like the right one, and the right time.”
He hadn’t even thought twice about it, asking Robyn if she was ok with his photo. Her kiss told him everything he needed to know and as she started to pack up their cases to leave New York, Taron sat on the bed and thought long and hard about the words he wanted under the photo. He had typed up an essay before he erased every word and wrote ‘My best friend, my love, my cariad’ under the photo instead. He still cringed at how bruised his face was in the picture, the black eye and steri-strips on head his head a reminder of how they met, what they had been through and how far they had come and how much love and respect he had for Robyn. It was why he wanted to post the photo. To let the world know before the speculation started, to stop hiding and to trust in what he had with Robyn. Pressing ‘done’, the photo uploaded in an instant and the comments came in even quicker.
“And the comments have been really lovely to read.” Robyn said avoiding Taron’s eye and looking to Tina. “The fans have been so nice and the photos from New York…”
“Where you both looked fabulous as always.” Tina interrupted, ignoring her son’s eye roll.
Robyn chuckled at his face, giving his hand a squeeze which she was still holding. “The photos from New York were fabulous.” She agreed. “And hopefully any future appearances will be just as positive.”
“I am sure they will Robyn.” Tina comforted. “You two have had this connection and understanding with the media since you met and together you two, as corny as it sounds, you can do anything.”
A little shy smile filled Robyn’s lips, while Taron’s cheeks blushed slightly, both saved from giving an answer when Mari rang into the kitchen.
“Robyn, you promised me the next time and now is the next time so can we please practise together?” She held up the tin whistle.
Getting to her feet, Robyn leaned into given Taron’s temple a kiss. “We will take it outside. Don’t tell your mam everything we did on holiday.” She winked leaving hand in hand with Mari.
Taron watched until she out of his eye line, a little sigh leaving his lips, turning to look at his mother who was beaming at him. “Ah mam, stop it.”
“Stop what.”
“That! That look. It’s just Robyn.”
“Well love when you get that look from your face, I will get the one from mine.” She covered his two hands with her own. “Have I told you how much I adore her?”
Taron shook his head. “Only three times since I got home.”
Tina laughed. “So how was it? And contrary to what Robyn suggested, I want all the details.”
“It was the most perfect holiday.” His smile grew. “To get that time together and alone was everything and more.”
“And the 7/11?” Tina cautiously asked.
Taron’s eyes closed and he felt his mam’s grip on his hands tighten. “It was horribly terrifying but such a weight has been lifted from both our shoulders. I feel like we can actually move on now.”
“And you went swimming, in the pool.”
Taron shook his head with a grin. “It was a holiday of complete healing.”
“And you and Robyn?”
“Mam…”
“What? I am your mother. It is my right to ask and know and be nosey.”
Taron leaned in to kiss her cheek, his arms wrapping around her for a hug. “She is the most beautiful person inside and out and I am the luckiest man in the world to have her in my life and her love and I do not want her to go on Sunday.”
Tina hugged her son tight, feeling his body sag a little. “The distance is always hard love, you have known that from the first time you said goodbye to her, and of course this time will be much more emotional but the love you two have for each other will always be strong enough to see you through and I am sure you will have another visit planned before you know it.”
Taron nodded into his mam’s shoulder. “I know, I know.”
Tina took her hands from his back and as he left the hug, placed them on his cheeks. “You have always managed to see each other and you still will and each time will be even more special.”
“Thanks mam.”
Tina placed a kiss on his forehead. “Anytime.”
“Mam I did it!” Mari came running into the kitchen. “I played the song and I played it with no mistakes.” Robyn was strolling after her, Rosie by her side.
“Well of course you did.” Tina beamed, giving her daughter a hug. “You have the best teacher.”
“I wouldn’t say that.” Robyn replied. “She knew most of it herself. A few tricks along the way helped her out.” She stood beside Taron, her hand on his shoulder. “She’ll be a pro soon.”
“So are you two going to stay for dinner or do you have plans for the evening?” Tina asked.
“We would love to stay for dinner.” Robyn answered, Taron’s concentration engrossed in his phone. “It would be nice to have a family catch up.”
“Love?” Tina rapped the table in front of her son. “Anyone home?”
Taron looked up from his phone, to see four faces staring at him. “Oh sorry. Elton was messaging me.”
“Dinner, tonight?” Tina asked, ignoring his words about Elton.
Taron looked over his shoulder to Robyn. “I have already accepted the invite.”
“Perfect.” Looking to his mother, he nodded. “Please.”
“Great.” She sighed as her son’s attention was in his phone again. “Taron…”
He looked up and bit his lip. “Sorry, sorry. I was just…” His phone dinged and he looked down, then turning his chair to Robyn. “So, any plans for October?” He asked. “Because, we have been invited to Elton’s AID’s foundation party and this time, he wants to make sure you can come for the whole weekend and is giving ample notice.”
Robyn’s smile grew. “Date?”
“October 6thth.”
“Tell him I would love to.”

Talk To Me
[Eggsy Unwin x Female!Reader]
Synopsis: With your boyfriend sneaking out 24/7 and always returning with carefully concealed injuries, it's only natural to be concerned.
WC: 3033
Category: Slight Angst + Fluff, Hurt/Comfort
I watched Carry-On last night (10/10 so good), and it got me re-thinking about one of my favorite films. Kingsman supremacy 🙌
『••✎••』
You loved Eggsy. Dearly. Truly.
You loved him so much that sometimes it scared you. How fiercely your heart clung to his smile, how tenderly your hands always seemed to reach for his, how naturally your entire world had shifted around him without you even realizing it. He was yours—scruffy, sweet Eggsy Unwin—and you believed you knew him. At least, you thought you did.
But then, the nights started.
At first, you didn’t think much of it. Everyone had their own struggles, and Eggsy never struck you as someone who’d open up easily about his. He’d always been the type to handle his own problems, to wear his hardships like armor rather than show them. But that was before the late-night disappearances, before the quiet footsteps across your floorboards, before you’d wake up in a cold bed at 3 a.m. to find him gone.
It didn’t happen all at once. It was gradual—so gradual you could almost convince yourself you were imagining it. One night turned into two. Two turned into a week. And before long, you couldn’t ignore it anymore.
The first time you tried to confront him, you did it gently. You’d asked him if everything was okay, masking your concern with casual curiosity. "You seem really tired lately, Eggsy. Is work being a pain?"
Eggsy had smiled, all teeth and dimples, and said, "Nah, luv. Just gotta lot on my plate, s’all."
You believed him because you wanted to.
But then there were the bruises.
The first one you noticed was along his jaw, faint and shadowed under the soft light of your kitchen. He’d winced when you kissed him there, just a tiny twitch of his lips, but enough to make you pull back. "You alright?" you’d asked.
Eggsy had waved you off. "Yeah, yeah, fine."
"Fine."
The word had felt too tight on his tongue, too forced. But you’d let it go because that’s what you did when someone you loved was hurting. You gave them space.
Except the bruises kept coming, each one a little harder to miss than the last. The faint cut above his brow, the stiffness in his shoulders when you hugged him, the way he’d flinch—just barely—when your fingers brushed against his ribs. And you noticed. Of course, you did. How could you not?
There was the other stuff, too. The sudden shift in his wardrobe. Gone were the trainers and bomber jackets, replaced with sharp suits and polished shoes. He’d started wearing glasses—ridiculous little round things that didn’t even have a prescription—and he carried himself differently now. Straighter. More serious. It wasn’t that you didn’t like the change. You did. Eggsy looked good in a suit, and you’d told him as much. But it was the why that lingered in the back of your mind.
Everything about him was changing, and yet you were still supposed to believe he was fine.
You weren’t stupid.
And so tonight, when you’d felt him slip out of bed yet again, something inside you had snapped. Enough was enough.
You stayed awake, feigning sleep as you listened to him shuffle around the room. You heard the soft clink of his belt buckle, the muted sound of a zipper, and then the quiet groan he let out as he bent to tie his shoes. He was trying to be quiet, but you could feel his movements, his tension, the exhaustion radiating off of him like smoke.
The front door closed behind him.
For a moment, you thought about following him. Your mind painted a dozen possibilities—none of them good—and the urge to know was almost overwhelming. But something held you back. Maybe it was fear. Maybe it was the sick feeling that if you saw what Eggsy was hiding, you wouldn’t be able to unsee it.
So, instead, you stayed. You waited.
And you waited.
Hours slipped by, the quiet hum of the room punctuated only by the ticking of the clock and the occasional thump of your restless heartbeat. You sat in the darkness, curled up on the couch with nothing but your thoughts to keep you company.
It was almost dawn when you heard it—the sound of keys fumbling at the door.
Your breath caught as the door swung open, and there he was. Eggsy. Exhausted, disheveled, and dragging himself inside like he’d just run a marathon. He tripped over the shoes you’d left by the door, letting out a hushed curse as he stumbled and caught himself on the wall. "For fuck’s sake…"
You watched him for a long moment, your heart twisting. His shoulders were slumped, his face pale under the bruises, and there was an air of defeat clinging to him that you’d never seen before.
Your hand hovered over the lamp beside you.
Click.
Light flooded the room.
Eggsy froze. His wide, tired eyes met yours, and for a second, neither of you said anything.
"…Where were you?"
Your voice came out steady—colder than you intended—but you didn’t care. You needed answers.
Eggsy straightened up, wincing slightly as he did, and ran a hand through his messy hair. "What’re you doin’ awake?"
"Where were you, Eggsy?" you repeated, softer this time.
He opened his mouth to answer, but you saw the hesitation in his eyes. That flicker of guilt, of indecision. And it hurt.
You watched him—really watched him—take in the situation, his gaze darting from you to the lamp and back again. He looked so tired, the dark circles under his eyes stark against the pale exhaustion in his face. His bottom lip pulled tight between his teeth, and for a fleeting moment, you thought he might lie to you.
He always did that when he was nervous, chewing his lip like he was trying to hold the words inside.
And then he sighed.
"Look, luv—"
"No." You cut him off, surprising even yourself with the sharpness in your voice. Your heart was pounding now, a steady thud in your chest, and you swallowed the knot rising in your throat. "Don’t 'look, love' me, Eggsy. I’ve given you space. I’ve ignored the bruises. I’ve let you—whatever this is—carry on without question. But not anymore."
Eggsy’s mouth closed. He shifted on his feet, his wince almost imperceptible, but you caught it. You always caught it.
"Are you hurt?" you asked, voice trembling slightly despite the resolve you tried to hold. Your eyes dropped to the faint, bloodied scrape on his knuckles and the stiff way he held his side. "Jesus, Eggsy…"
"I’m fine." The words came out fast—too fast—and though they were meant to be firm, they only sounded hollow.
You flinched like the word was a slap. "You’re not fine."
He sighed again, this time deeper, and rubbed a hand over his face. "It’s complicated."
"Complicated?" you echoed, your voice pitching with disbelief. "Complicated is when you forget an anniversary or don’t know how to split rent. This isn’t complicated, Eggsy—this is you sneaking out in the middle of the night and coming home bruised and battered, and I’m scared."
There it was. The confession you’d been holding back. The thing that had been gnawing at you for weeks, clawing at your chest every time he slipped away. Your voice broke slightly, the words tumbling out like a dam had burst, and Eggsy’s face softened in a way that almost broke you.
You could see the guilt then, raw and unguarded, etched into the lines of his expression. He took a cautious step forward, but you held up a hand, needing the space to breathe.
"Do you…" Your voice faltered. You didn’t want to say it—didn’t want to voice the fear that had whispered in your mind during the loneliest hours of those nights. “Do you not trust me, Eggsy? Is there something you can’t tell me?”
Eggsy’s head snapped up at that, his brow knitting as if you’d insulted him. "What? No. No, it’s not like that."
"Then what is it?" Your voice cracked, and for the first time since this all started, you felt your eyes sting with tears. "Because I’m running out of scenarios, Eggsy. I thought maybe… maybe it was someone else, maybe you’d stopped loving me. But then I’d see the bruises, and I’d hear you groaning in your sleep, and…" You trailed off, pressing a hand to your forehead. "I can’t keep pretending everything’s fine when you’re falling apart right in front of me."
The room was silent save for your quiet, unsteady breaths. For a moment, you thought Eggsy wouldn’t answer, that he’d slip into that shell of his again and leave you stranded in this mess of unanswered questions.
But he didn’t.
Instead, he crossed the room in two quick strides, cupped your face in his hands, and kissed you.
It wasn’t a soft kiss—not like the ones he’d give you after long days or lazy mornings. It was desperate and grounding, like he needed to make sure you were real and that you still loved him despite everything. You froze for half a second, caught off guard by the sudden warmth of his lips on yours before you melted into it. Your hands gripped his wrists, holding onto him like an anchor as your heart hammered against your ribcage.
When he finally pulled away, you stared at him, breathless and reeling.
"Eggsy—"
"I’m sorry," he muttered, his forehead resting gently against yours. "I didn’t… I didn’t mean to make you think that. Any of that." His voice was low and earnest, the accent softening as the words spilled out. "You’re the only good thing in my life, alright? The only thing that keeps me goin’. It ain’t you—it’s me. I’m just… I’m tryin’ to keep you safe."
"Safe?" Your brows furrowed as you leaned back to look at him. "Safe from what, Eggsy?"
He hesitated. You could see the war playing out in his eyes—the push and pull of wanting to tell you the truth but still trying to protect you from it. He was holding something back; you knew that much. Something big.
Finally, he exhaled slowly. "It’s work. The bruises, the nights—I can’t tell you everything, but you gotta trust me when I say I’m doin’ it for you. For us."
"Eggsy…"
His thumb brushed along your cheek, and you realized then that you were crying—just a little.
"You’re right," he admitted softly, the words heavy with guilt. "I shoulda told you somethin’. Not everythin’, but… somethin’. I just didn’t want you to worry, love. Didn’t want you to see this part o’ me." He smiled faintly, the corners of his lips tilting upward. "You deserve better than this mess."
You stared at him, the boy who had somehow become a man without you noticing. His rough edges were still there—still scrappy, still stubborn—but there was something more now, too. He carried weight on his shoulders, weight he hadn’t let you see until tonight.
"I don’t care about the mess," you whispered, your hands sliding down to hold his. "I care about you. And if you’re hurting, I want to know. I want to help."
Eggsy blinked at you like he wasn’t sure he deserved to hear that. Then he pulled you into his arms, wrapping you up tightly as if trying to shield you from the rest of the world.
"You’re mental, you know that?" he mumbled into your hair, his voice thick with emotion. "Too good for me, you are."
Eggsy was warm against you, his arms solid and grounding, but you couldn’t let yourself melt into it—not entirely. Not when you could still feel the lingering tremor in his body, the careful way he was holding you like he was afraid of falling apart completely if he let go.
So you didn’t let it slide. Not this time.
You pulled back slightly, enough to look at him, your hands sliding to rest against his chest. He avoided your eyes for a beat too long, gaze flicking toward the floor as if the answers to all of your questions were scattered across the floorboards.
"Eggsy," you said softly, forcing him to look at you. "You’re doing it again."
His brows furrowed slightly. "Doin’ what?"
"Avoiding." You swallowed hard, your voice gentle but firm. "You keep saying you’re trying to protect me, but from what? From you? From whatever it is you’ve gotten yourself into? I can’t keep pretending I’m okay with half-truths and cryptic excuses."
He didn’t answer. His jaw clenched, his lips pressing into a tight line as the silence stretched between you like a taut wire. You watched him, the Eggsy you knew—the one who laughed too loudly, who lit up rooms with his smile—hidden behind this new, heavier version of himself. A man weighed down by secrets you weren’t allowed to touch.
You felt your throat tighten. "If you’re in trouble, I need to know."
"I’m not—"
"Gary." You said his name softly, but with enough weight that he stopped, his shoulders sagging just a little under your gaze. You could see the walls going back up, the way his expression started to close off again, and your heart ached. This wasn’t about control. It wasn’t about digging into things he didn’t want to share. This was about him—the man you loved. The man standing in front of you with bruises and exhaustion, painting him in shades of worry and pain you didn’t recognize.
"I love you," you whispered, the words breaking through the quiet. His head snapped up, his eyes finally locking onto yours. "I love you, Eggsy. But this—" you gestured gently between the two of you "—this isn’t fair. You don’t get to shoulder all of this alone. Not when I’m right here."
You could see the cracks in his resolve then, the guilt splintering through his expression like fractures in glass. Eggsy exhaled, a heavy breath that deflated his entire posture, and he reached up to cup your cheek again, his thumb brushing faintly at the tears still lingering there.
"It ain’t trouble," he muttered after a long pause, his voice low and rough like gravel. "Not like you’re thinkin’. I ain’t into anythin’ shady, I swear."
"Then what is it?" you asked softly. "Please, Eggsy. I’m not leaving. I’m not running. I just need to know what’s doing this to you."
He hesitated again, clearly grappling with something you couldn’t see. For the briefest moment, you thought he might tell you—might rip off the Band-Aid and let you into whatever world he’d been keeping you out of. But then, as if on instinct, he sighed and shook his head, pressing a lingering kiss to your forehead before resting his own against it again.
"You don’t wanna know, luv," he murmured, voice so soft it nearly disappeared into the space between you. "I promise you don’t."
You stared at him, your heart twisting painfully. You could feel it now—the invisible door he was trying to close, to lock between you—and the worst part was, you knew he thought he was doing the right thing. He thought he was protecting you.
But all you felt was the sting of being shut out.
"This isn’t fair," you said again, your voice trembling slightly. "You don’t get to decide what I can and can’t handle, Eggsy."
His lips parted slightly, and for once, he didn’t have a rebuttal. He just looked at you—really looked at you—as if weighing the woman in front of him against whatever dark reality he’d been hiding.
"I can handle it," you pressed, your voice steady this time. "Whatever it is, I can handle it. I can handle you."
Eggsy pulled back slightly, his hands slipping to your shoulders. There was a flicker of conflict in his eyes, and for the first time that night, you saw a hint of vulnerability beneath the surface. "It ain’t about you not bein’ strong enough," he said finally, his words slow and deliberate. "It’s about me not wantin’ you to see the worst parts of what I do."
"What you do?" you repeated carefully, and you saw him flinch—just barely—like he’d said too much.
"Eggsy, I don’t…"
He let out a bitter laugh, running a hand through his messy hair. "Jesus Christ, I’m shite at this."
Your eyes searched his. Part of you wanted to press further—to keep pushing until the dam broke—but the other part could see his exhaustion, the way he was leaning slightly against the counter like his legs were struggling to hold him up. He looked so tired. So defeated. And you hated it.
You let out a soft sigh, taking his hand and lacing your fingers through his.
He stiffened.
For a moment, neither of you spoke. There was a question lingering between you, the same one you knew he was struggling to answer.
Tell her.
Don't.
It felt like an eternity had passed when you finally said his name, squeezing his hand gently.
His gaze lifted to yours.
And you let it go.
You didn't push. You didn't demand. You didn't ask. Because this wasn't a fight, you were going to win.
He wasn't ready.
So, instead, you just said, "Promise me something."
"Yeah?"
You hesitated, the words feeling heavier on your tongue than they had any right to be. You swallowed the lump rising in your throat and whispered, "Promise me you’ll come home."
Eggsy stilled.
It wasn't much of a request—more of a desperate hope that this wasn't all leading to some unavoidable ending you weren't ready for. It was an offer of surrender. A silent, exhausted plea to put the pieces back together, to stitch up the cracks before they could break.
He studied you, his tired eyes roaming over the lines of your face as if he could read the question lingering there.
And then he pulled you into his arms, a hand cradling the back of your head. You felt the warmth of his embrace, the weight of his body against yours, and your arms wrapped around him as tightly as you could. For a second, you weren’t sure if he would answer. If he even could.
And then, in the softest voice you'd ever heard, he whispered, "Always."
"For you, always."

something about a man in uniform ~ ethan kopek;carry-on
word count: 2122
request?: no
description: in which nothing turns her on more than seeing her boyfriend in his uniform
pairing: ethan kopek x female!reader
warnings: swearing, smut (dom!ethan, face fucking, a lil rough, praise, lil bit of a breeding kink), FULLY just porn without a plot because my brain chemistry changed after seeing taron in carry-on
masterlist (one, two, three)

It was so late you were struggling to keep your eyes open when the front door opened and slammed shut. You sat up, trying to wake yourself up enough to greet your boyfriend. He came around the corner and let out a heavy sigh, throwing his bag onto the floor.
"Welcome home," you said, sleepily.
"Sorry I'm so late getting home," he sighed. "We had an issue in my line and Sarkowski made me stay till it was figured out."
"What happened?"
Your eyes followed Ethan's hands as he started to unbutton his uniform shirt. Suddenly, you were very awake.
"Some idiot with a huge bottle of sunscreen in his carry on got flagged. When I went to do a search of his bag, he starts freaking out. Causes a huge scene and has to be detained. Since it was my line, Sarkowski made me be there for his whole interrogation and shit. The guy refused to cooperate, so we were there for hours until we finally found out it was just a stupid sunscreen bottle."
Ethan had been pacing while he talked. He had finished unbuttoning his shirt, now letting it hang open with his black under shirt on display. He stopped pacing when he noticed your silence. He thought maybe you had fallen asleep, but instead when he turned to look at you, he found you staring. It was like you were hypnotized, staring blankly at him; at his body.
He smirked then moved to stand directly in front of you. He put his fingers against your chin, tilting your head to look up at him. "Like what you see?"
You blinked out of your daze. Heat from embarrassment crept up your face. "Sorry. I was...distracted."
"Yeah. I noticed. What's got you so distracted?"
You swallowed. You weren't exactly sure how to tell him that seeing him in uniform turned you on.
You weren't the only person in the world who found uniforms attractive. That was definitely an an uncommon thing. There was just something slightly embarrassing to you about having to admit to your own boyfriend that seeing him in his work uniform really turned you on. No matter how often you saw it, every time Ethan would pull on his blue TSA shirt and tuck it into his dress pants, you'd feel a tingling sensation between your legs.
When you took too long to answer, Ethan leaned over you. He put his hands on the back of the couch, on either side of your body. You were trapped, no choice but to look in his eyes.
"Do you like seeing me in my uniform, pretty girl?" he asked.
You were at a loss for words, so you just nodded. At the same time, Ethan shook his head. "No, no. Use your words, pretty girl."
"Y-yes," you managed.
"Yes, what?"
"Yes, I like seeing you in your uniform."
He was still smirking. "Good girl."
Before your brain had much time to grasp (or rather, short circuit because of) that comment, his lips were on yours. He was kissing you with a kind of passion and hunger that lit a fire in you. It was the kind of kiss that bruised your lips, that lit your body aflame. One of his hands moved to cup your cheek. It was gentle, a juxtaposition to the way he was kissing you.
His hand moved from your face to his belt. He pulled away from the kiss to stand over you again. Your heart was racing as you watched him undo his belt, and then his dress pants. You could see the outline of his dick through his boxers, and he was already rock hard. His hand moved to take yours and placed it against the bulge. You instinctively started palming his length. His head lulled back, a low moan escaping from his lips.
"Don't tease, baby," he said.
There was a bit of a stern tone to Ethan's voice that made you clench your thighs. You had tried some sub-dom scenarios before, which you had really enjoyed, but this was different. This was not a planned moment of dominance. This whole situation was entirely spontaneous (not that you ever planned the times you had sex). And it was so fucking hot.
You slid off the couch onto your knees in front of Ethan. You reached for his boxers, pulling them down to his mid thigh. His cock sprang free, standing at attention for you. You took hold of the base and pumped a few times. You weren't about to tease him, but the moans from him as you stroked his cock were so delicious.
When you wrapped your lips around his tip, his hips immediately bucked forward, shoving himself further down your throat. You knew it wasn't on purpose and he wasn't trying to make you gag or anything, but you still couldn't help but try to move away from him due to the sudden intrusion. To your surprise, Ethan took hold of your hair and pushed you down onto his length again. His hips started moving, not enough to gag you but enough that he was completely fucking your face. You looked up at him through your eyelashes. He was still in his uniform shirt, which somehow turned you on even more. His eyes were closed and his bottom lip was between his teeth, muffled grunts slipping from his mouth.
You could feel your own slick between your legs, pooling in your underwear. You held onto Ethan's thighs, bracing yourself for every inward thrust. Drool was starting to drip down your chin and onto the floor between your legs. You watched Ethan's head tilt down to look at you. His blue eyes met yours, and they were so clouded with lust. He loosened his grip on your hair to move his hand to your face, gently cupping your cheek again.
When he pulled himself out of your mouth, you tried to chase him. He pulled you to your feet instead, hungrily kissing you again. His hands desperately grabbed at you wherever he could, pressing himself as close to you as he could.
"Off," he muttered against your lips, his hands reaching for your pajama top. He broke away from you to pull it up over your head and tossed it somewhere behind him. He gently pushed you down onto the couch, grabbing for your pajama bottoms next. "These too." You lifted your hips so he could pull the bottoms and your underwear off, discarding it with your shirt.
You were left completely bare, trembling under his gaze. He pushed his boxers down and kicked them to the side. You were watching him take off his uniform shirt when he paused and made a gesture for you to turn around.
"On your knees," he commanded.
You did as he said; turning yourself around so you were braced against the back of the couch, perched up on your knees with your ass raised to him. You heard the last of his clothes hit the floor before feeling his presence behind you. You yelped at the quick sting of his hand against one of your ass cheeks, before he was pulling that same ass cheek open. He ran his cock between your wet folds, teasing you. You moaned at the feeling of his hot tip against your clit. You weren't sure how long you'd be able to last through the teasing.
When he finally pushed past your entrance, you almost sighed with relief. He pushed himself into you very slowly, letting you feel every inch of him as he filled you up. You put your head into your arms, moaning at the feeling of him inside of you. Ethan's hand ran up your back and to your hair again. You gasped at the sting of his hand closing around your hair, pulling hard at the strands until your head was tipped back.
"Don't you dare try to be quiet," he growled. "I want to hear how good I make you."
He pulled out just a little, before snapping his hips forward, driving himself back into you. You cried out in pleasure. Ethan decided this was the perfect pace: brutally drilling into you while he still had a hold on your hair. You were nearly bent in half, pushing yourself up from the back of the couch as much as you could. Part of you was concerned about potentially breaking the couch with how roughly Ethan was fucking you, but a bigger part of you didn't care. All you could think about was the feeling of Ethan's cock abusing your g spot.
Your legs soon began to shake, and you felt your orgasm slowly building within you. You tried to tell Ethan that you were close, but any words that came out just sounded like babbling. He pulled you so that your back was flush against his chest, his mouth mere inches from your ear.
"What's that, pretty girl?" he asked.
"C-Close," you managed to get out.
"You're close?" he asked. You nodded. "Do you think you can wait for me, baby? I want to feel you cum on my cock as I fill you with my cum."
You whined in response. You weren't sure if you could wait. Although it wasn't quickly approaching, you didn't think you'd be able to stop yourself when you finally reached your high. You didn't want to wait, either. You were chasing a high you had been working towards the second you saw Ethan's body perfectly framed in that TSA uniform.
"You can do it, baby," he whispered in your ear. "You can wait for me. Wait for me to pump you full of my cum, maybe even plant a baby in there. Would you like that? Would you like it if I put a baby in you, pretty girl?"
You nodded, although you weren't fully comprehending what he was saying. All you could focus on was the feeling of Ethan's body against yours, the feeling of him so deep inside of you, the feeling of his hot breath against your ear, and then his lips on your neck.
Luckily, it didn't take long for Ethan to get close. When he did, he reached between your legs and started to rub circles against your clit. You cried out, both in pleasure and due to the overstimulation. It was enough to tip you over the edge, trembling and moaning, a white hot flash of pleasure ripping through you. Seconds later, you felt Ethan pulse inside of you, coating your walls with his cum. He leaned his head against your shoulder, also shaking as he rode out his high. His hand dropped from your clit and you almost sighed.
Your body quickly fell back into exhaustion. You sleepily slipped out of Ethan's grasp and leaned forward, against the couch. He still had a hold on your hips, but eventually let himself slip out of you. You felt the remnants of him slipping down your thighs. You slowly lowered yourself onto the couch until you were laying down again.
"I guess I should've done this before," you said.
"What do you mean?" Ethan asked.
"Lay down," you responded. "To make sure I didn't let anything run out."
He looked at you in confusion before it dawned on him what you meant. He chuckled a little. "I didn't mean it too literally. I mean, I would like to have a kid with you eventually, and I wouldn't be upset if we found out this is the time it happened, but I don't think I'm completely ready to be a dad yet."
"I won't hold my breath, then."
He chuckled against. He helped you up and to the bathroom so you could take care of the post-sex things, then he helped you to your bed. You settled into the comfortable bedding, laying on your side and curled up a little. Ethan moved behind you, taking you in his arms in the spooning position.
"I didn't go too rough or anything, did I?" he asked.
You shook your head and mumbled a soft, "No."
"Okay. I was a little worried after. I didn't mean to take out my work frustrations on you."
"You can take out any frustrations on me anytime," you mumbled. "But maybe at an earlier hour. I'm exhausted."
He chuckled and kissed your shoulder. "Deal. Goodnight, baby."
"Goodnight."
There was a brief moment of silence where both of you began to drift off to sleep. With your last few seconds of consciousness, you managed to say, "Don't forget to get our clothes from the living room in the morning."
The last thing you heard before you fell asleep was Ethan's laugh.

We Meet Again In Italy - Eggsy Unwin X Female Reader
Title: We Meet Again In Italy

| Part 1 |
WC: 4,186
Warnings: Reader is mentioned wearing a dress/heels/makeup, enemies to lovers, banter, flirting, teasing, very brief mention on abuse, some italics, brief mention of crying, slight angst, and fluff
One word to describe Italy is 'breathtaking,' and that couldn't be more true than it was when you walked through the streets of Rome upon your first day there. Everything about Italy seemed so picturesque and beautiful. But you didn't have time to walk around and enjoy the scenery - no matter how much you would have loved to do so - you were on your mission. After the incident in the bookstore in New York, you were determined to get that file back from Eggsy.
"He's been spotted entering his hotel. Hotel Da Vinci." Your boss spoke to you over your earpiece as you sat in the middle of your large hotel bed. That was actually really nice; you might have to invest in a better mattress when you got home. "A message will come to you shortly with the information, along with the address to the gala he is going to be attending tonight."
Pausing, your hand hovering over your paperwork. "Gala?" You knew Eggsy loved to dance, but still. "Why is he going to a gala?" You asked, picking up the couple of pictures you had of Eggsy in various locations back from when you were tailing him in New York.
"He's meeting someone by the name of Alexandra Winslet. We doubt that is her real name, but that's all the information that we got on her."
"A name and a face is all I need." You spoke up, eyes flickering to your phone as a notification popped up. Picking up your phone from beside you on the bed, you unlock it before tapping your messages, slowly scanning the few pictures and documents that you were sent. Stopping at the picture of the supposed Alexandra Winslet, you hummed, tilting your head to the side. "Purple," You muttered, your eyes immediately going to her hair, which was short, cut to just below her chin; in a shade of violet purple. One thing was for sure, you'd have an easy time spotting her in a crowd. Scrolling further, you stopped at the picture of a mansion, surrounded by a fancy iron gate. "I am assuming that this mansion is where the gala is going to be held?"
You watched as the message bubbles popped up before you were sent the address, "Yes," Your boss then spoke, "It's a black-and-white event. Make sure to keep within the dress code. And get that file back. I don’t want any other issues to arise."
Shutting your phone off, you leaned back against the plush, satin headboard, "Sure thing, boss," You sighed, rubbing your forehead with a hand, you kept your hand there as you shut your eyes, "Is there anything else I need to know?"
"We’ll keep you updated." The line went dead.
Huffing, you opened your eyes, blinking as you checked your watch on your wrist. "Well," You muttered to yourself, clicking off your earpiece as you shuffled off the bed, trying not to crumple any of your paperwork and pictures as you did so. "Time to go shopping, I guess."
And so, you found yourself in Milan, which was the same city where the gala was going to be held. Milan was such a lovely place, full of rich, dazzling architecture, just like the rest of the country; it was also quite famous for fashion, especially among wealthy business people and high society alike. And before you knew it, your small shopping spree was finished. With two large bags looped on your arms, you made your way to your rental, and back to your hotel.
Entering your hotel room, you quickly shut the door, locking it before you sped to the bed and placed your bags down. They weren't hurting your arms with their weight, no, but it was what was inside that was important: your dress. Sliding out the white, paper box, you spied the brand name on the top lid, written in black, curvy font. Carefully, you pulled off the lid, feeling a small rush of adrenaline fill your system as you sat the lid to the side, your eyes zoned in on the black folded dress before you.
Biting your lip, you tried to hide the large grin that was about to spread on your face as you gently took the fabric into your hands. Without a second thought, and seeing that you were right on time, you began to get ready for the gala.
It was around four once you finished getting ready, dressed to the nines and a hint of excitement ran through you. Staring at yourself in the full-length mirror near the bathroom, you turned every which way, your lips curled upward, feeling completely gorgeous. The dress was all-black, the sleeves were off-the-shoulder, the maxi skirt just brushed the floor, and it was made out of the softest velvet that you have ever felt in your entire life. Once you saw the dress on one of the mannequin models, you knew that you had to have it. Brushing your hands down the skirt, you gave yourself one last look; honestly loving the way your red, painted lips stood out amongst the black.
Turning to the bed, you pulled your message bag over, opened the flap, and pulled out a small, wooden rectangular box. You paused, eyes softening as you opened the box's lid, revealing a simple, gold necklace with a single pendant hanging from it. You smiled softly as you gazed at it, remembering the night that he had given it to you. Turning to the mirror once more, you carefully unclasped the necklace, sliding it around your neck before fastening the clasp behind your neck. As you stared at yourself, you started to wonder what he would think. Would he like it? You bit your lip as your fingers grazed over the gold surface, only to shake your head; you shouldn't be thinking like that. It shouldn't even matter what Eggsy thinks. This was a mission. This was your job, your life. You didn't have time for romance or flirtatious games. Not this time around.
Taking a deep breath, you forced yourself to turn away from the reflection and looked around your hotel room for your shoes. Finding the box of brand-new gold heels near the door of the bed, you picked up one of them and slipped it onto your foot before slipping on the other heel. Standing straight, you looked into your mirror again, fiddling with your hair before you felt your mind slipping back to him. Growing frustrated with yourself, you glared at your reflection.
"Get the file and leave." You spoke, voice stern, "Don't fall for his tricks again... You don't have time for it. You're on a mission, remember?" You muttered to yourself. You shook your head. You could hear his laughter in your ears, see that grin on his face, that glimmer in his eyes... You gritted your teeth. Closing your eyes tight, you inhaled sharply before opening them, pushing those thoughts away. Raising your hand, you turned on your earpiece with two soft taps, "Sir, I'm ready."
~~~
Pulling up to the mansion, you leaned over slightly to look at it through the front view window. You had done a bit of research on the large home before arriving. Villa Mondadori, an Art Nouveau building. Designed by architect Steno Sioli Legnani for the textile entrepreneur Pasquale Crespi in 1897, it consisted of fifteen bedrooms, fifteen bathrooms, various large lounges, and a spa area with a complete gym, cinema room, bar, and terraces. At the small tap on your passenger window, you snapped out of your daze, your eyes landing on what you assumed to be the valet parking attendant.
Stepping out of your car, you handed the valet the keys, giving the young man a polite smile and nod before looking up at the building as you walked up the three steps. The building was three stories, the first level's exterior was almost an ivory color, while the second and third levels were a sort of cream color. What you loved the most were the large windows, large enough to let in all the natural light. You tried to pay no mind to the two guards at the door, walking towards them, holding yourself high and confidently.
"Ciao," You gave them both a charming smile, hoping that either of them would just let you in, as you had planned.
The one guard to your left was tall, well past six feet, and with trimmed blonde hair that was combed to the side. The guard to your right was a bit shorter than his guard partner, though still taller than you, and was far less intimidating, but you took note of his piercing blue eyes and the way his black hair was buzzed close to the scalp. Both men stared at you, observing and analyzing you as their eyes narrowed and their mouths pursed. Before you could ask them if they were going to allow you entrance into the house, the guard on the left cleared his throat, "Buona sera," He said, his eyes slowly looking at you up and down.
You expertly hid your distaste as you replied politely, "Sì, buona sera." You glanced at each of them, expectantly, and finally, they moved aside, allowing you entry into the house. The hallway that led straight ahead was lined with doors, all decorated with lavish designs and intricate woodwork carved into the frames. There were paintings of beautiful landscapes hung along the walls, some of which were covered by black and white, silky drapes. Fit for the gala's theme, you admired it.
Following the live classical music that was echoing throughout the halls, you found yourself in the main room, watching as couples danced together in what you presumed was the living room they converted into a ball-like room. You took a moment to admire the room around you, eyeing the grand, crystal chandelier that hung down, and the large windows that surrounded the room. Taking another glance at your surroundings, your eyes landed on a bar lounge on the far right wall, admiring the beautifully detailed painted ceiling, depicting the Renaissance era. The room was lit up brightly, making the room feel warm and inviting, and you couldn't help but let a small sigh escape your lips; it really was quite beautiful, even though you weren't there to enjoy the party, you were here for that file. That you hoped to god Eggsy brought with him somehow.
Moving with a certain grace, you made your way to the bar, finding a nice place to stand and watch the couples dancing the night away to the live violin, cello, and piano concertos playing from a stage further away from where you were standing. It was a quick dance, the couples stepping closer together as they spun circles around the room; dresses fluttered around their legs. Their movements captivated you.
"What are you doing here?" A voice spoke up, and the corner of your lips lifted when you heard it. Leaning on the counter behind you, you rested your elbows against it as you turned your head to meet Eggsy's confused and astounded gaze.
"Can't a girl go out and have fun?" You asked, smiling coyly as you turned around the face the bar, Eggsy turned with you, his body facing you, his eyes staring at the side of your face; his expression turned from bewildered to something unknown.
As you signaled the bartender, Eggsy finally spoke up once more. "I wasn't aware that you were invited..." His tone lightened some.
"Neither was I." You responded simply as the bartender walked over to you. "Martini. Asciutto." You requested before looking back over at Eggsy coyly. "I sort of just... Invited myself." Smirking slightly, you waited patiently as the bartender prepared your drink. When the bartender was about to give you the drink, you took the drink. Turning to face Eggsy, you kept your eyes on his as you took a sip. You watched as his eyes followed the movement of your mouth, as he swallowed his own drink. Shrugging casually, you looked back up at Eggsy.
"Well now," Eggsy sat down his glass, "Let's not get straight to business. Isn't the view wonderful?" Your eyes roamed around the room, taking in the scenery before you turned your gaze back to the man beside you.
"Quite wonderful," You answered, "You clean up well, Eggsy." You teased, leaning forward slightly.
Eggsy's eyes flashed, a smirk forming across his lips, "You look stunning, as usual, love." His eyes scanned over your form, slowly, drinking you in, "Do you care to dance?" He asked, chuckling softly as he took another sip of his drink.
"Dance?" You replied, taking a sip of your martini as well. Dancing with him couldn't hurt. It would give you an excuse to get closer to him, for the file... Yeah, for the file. He might have it in his inside jacket pocket. Coming quickly with your conclusion, you nodded, setting down your drink and offering your hand. "Just one, Eggsy. And then we talk."
"Whatever you want, love," He spoke, taking your hand in his and leading you to the dance floor, and what timing... The band had begun to play a slow song.
Pulling you close, and with one hand in yours, Eggsy put his other hand on your waist, as you put your extra hand on his shoulder. To the music the both of you swayed, moving from side to side, Eggsy keeping his eyes on you the entire time, as you gazed into his. It was nice, the atmosphere, but the unsaid tension was still there.
"Agent, does he have the file?" You heard over your earpiece, making you huff as you took your hand off of his shoulder to turn off your earpiece.
Eggsy tilted his head slightly, his eyes shining with slight amusement at your annoyed expression before they softened once more, his eyes landing on the necklace that lay around your neck. Without a word, he reached out and lightly brushed his thumb across the surface of the smooth, gold pendant. Your skin tingled as his thumb caressed the top of the necklace gently, his eyes remained glued to the necklace. "I remember that night." He muttered, finally allowing his eyes to stray from the necklace to your eyes. "We were after the same person, back in-"
"Back in Japan. I know." You pursed your lips, looking at him intently, trying your best to keep a calm composure as the memories resurfaced in your mind once more.
Dance, grab, and go. Dance, grab, and go.
Eggsy mimicked you, pursing his own lips as he stared right back at you. He was studying you. From all the times you and he found each other during overlapping missions - which was quite a few over the years - he knew that you were hiding something. Something deep within. But what? He liked to think that he could read you pretty easily, but even though he had known you for more than four years, you were still a mystery to him. You could be a very good actor if need be. You could hide anything. Hell, there were so many secrets behind those gorgeous eyes of yours. And that's what made you so good at your job, Eggsy thought. You concealed yourself, you didn't let anyone see you; but, there were always traces, tiny cracks, or hints that would show themselves to whomever was looking close enough. Eggsy thought he was lucky enough to see some of those cracks.
Eggsy suddenly realized how close the two of you were standing, with his hand on your waist, pulling you close to him, for a soft sway of a dance. He couldn't help but let himself enjoy this moment, enjoying the way your body felt pressed against his, the warmth that radiated from your skin onto his; seeping, warming his bones, and filling his veins with electricity. The way his pulse pounded in his ears as he stared at your lips, imagining pressing his own against them. He wanted to kiss you. Not just because he wanted to; no. It was more than that. It was a craving, a burning desire he had been fighting since day one of meeting you. Every time he saw you, his heart skipped a beat and butterflies filled his stomach whenever your eyes met - even though he hated how cliche that all sounded in his head - he swore that he was getting addicted to you - he was addicted to you - his whole world became completely focused on you. It was insane. The longing.
If only, in a perfect world, the both of you could go off the grid, away from the espionage and the lies, and just be together. Away from the stress, the fear, the uncertainty. Just be together. But, Eggsy loved working as a spy. It was what his father did before him, and it gave Eggsy a new meaning of life… If Harry hadn’t found him, he probably would’ve still been outsmarting his mother’s abusive boyfriend by now. But you… If you had asked him to quit… He’d quit for you.
Licking his lips, Eggsy spoke up, "I didn't think you'd keep it." You frowned, slightly, "Your necklace, I mean." He added quickly, his fingers twitching as he tightened his hold on your waist.
"Why wouldn't I keep it?" You raised a brow, "It's cute."
Eggsy chuckled, a grin reappearing back on his face, feeling the slightly awkward tension lifting, "I told you I have great taste.” He then continued, “Now, you never answered my question, love."
"As to why I'm here?" You continued with your response, raising a brow as your hand slid down from his shoulder to rest on his chest. You almost let out a small laugh, biting your bottom lip to stop the smile that was threatening to come out. A wave of fulfillment washed over you, and you felt like a weight had disappeared off of your shoulders. The file, the one that you were looking for, was in his breast pocket. You could tell from just the slightest of pressure that he carefully folded it all to fit into the pocket. "I'm here for that file that you stole from me."
Eggsy chuckled, shaking his head lightly, though you could see what you thought was disappointment in his eyes. "And here I thought you just wanted to see me."
"Who says I didn't also come here to see you?" You smiled, your hand sliding back up to place itself on his shoulder.
"Really, love?" Eggsy asked, raising an eyebrow as he stared at you, trying to discern if you were lying or if this was just some ploy to let his guard down, or possibly trick him into giving you the file... Which he would not do. He'd do anything for you, but giving you the file was not one of them.
You glanced away at the band, "Who's Alexandra Winselt?" You suddenly asked, bringing your voice down into a soft murmur, your eyes once more locking on his.
"Jealous much, Y/N?" He joked, causing you to roll your eyes before answering him,
"Annoying much, Eggsy?"
Even though it didn't match up well with how slow the song was, Eggsy spun you out before spinning you back in - the hem of your dress swirling around you - before dipping you; your leg instinctively went up against the side of his torso, making him hold your thigh tightly with one hand, while the other was secured around your waist. Looking down at you, it wasn't obvious what he was thinking about, which made it all the more intriguing. And although the music was still playing, you felt the silence in the air.
He pulled you back up slowly, and for a moment, a slight moment, you thought he was going to kiss you. There was this... This look in his eyes was warm - You felt your heart swell - you couldn't figure out if this look he was giving you was new, or if he had ever looked at you like that before. You didn't think he looked at you like that before... Maybe it was in Rio, or Japan the year before, or maybe even in Canada the year before that... Maybe it was in London, where you first met. You were sure, but that look, it was something else.
Dance.
"Eggsy..." You spoke up, cutting the thick tension like a knife through butter, your voice no higher than a whisper - angelic in his ears; you almost felt as if you didn't even say anything, but you were certain Eggsy heard you.
You felt an overwhelming urge to lean up and kiss him, but instead, you held yourself back from doing so. The moment lasted only for a second but it seemed like hours as Eggsy kept staring into your eyes, trying to determine whether or not to let his desires take control. If only he knew how strong the pull was between the two of you; it was like the gravity between the two of you grew and multiplied, as if you two were drawn to each other by magnets. You both stood, in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by other dancers as the music faded and a more upbeat classical song began.
“Y/N…” Eggsy raised his hand, tucking a few stray hairs behind your hair, his movements almost trance-like.
And then he was leaning in, and so were you. Eyes heavy-lidded, you felt his hot breath against your face, his nose nudging yours, your lips just brushing his. But you paused, just a hair away from your lips on his, you... You couldn’t do it. Sighing deeply, you shut your eyes fully, your mind and heart fighting against one another as Eggsy opened his eyes, blinking rapidly; confused.
Grab.
"I'm sorry, Eggsy... I can't do this." You slowly pulled back, unable to look him in the eye, but knowing that his lips were turned into an incredibly perplexed, yet somewhat sad frown. With a hesitant touch, you flatted his lapels before continuing, "I already got what I needed." You then quickly pulled away from him, his arms dropping from your waist as you hurried out of the room, and out of the extravagant mansion.
… And go.
You harshly bit your bottom lip, the back of your eyes burning with unshed tears as you lightly sniffled and sped to your car, blindly and expertly grabbing the keys from the valet attendant. You didn't waste your time speeding out of the lot, and down the road before tapping on the radio. You turned up the volume, your eyes blurring slightly as you drove back to your hotel. You needed to get out of the country, and fast. God, feelings, you hated them. They just complicated everything, and they always hurt. You tried so hard to not fall for him, but every single time he walked into the room, every single time he made your cheeks flush, every single time his eyes met yours and he got that little smile on his face, everything inside of you melted like ice cream on a hot summer day. How was he able to make you feel like this? You had to get out of the country.
Eggsy stood, in the middle of the dancefloor, without you, and though he looked sort of odd standing there all by himself, staring at the floor in a sort of faraway expression on his face, he didn't care. He never really cared about what people thought about him. He felt heartbroken... It was the best word he could think of. Both heartbroken and confused. Why did you leave like that? He was pretty sure that if he left right now, he could have followed you. He wanted to, but... He knew that it wouldn't have worked. You were too independent, and too stubborn - it was two of the many things he loved about you. You had to come to your own conclusions. And he was sure that you had done that. He just wasn't the answer.
Sighing, Eggsy took a deep breath in and out, his shoulders drooping as he gathered his composure. But he froze once more, feeling his shoulders stiffen again and his eyes widened slightly as he took in a sharp breath. 'I already got what I needed...' Eggsy replayed your words over and over again in his head and he recognized those words. They were the same words he said to you after he grabbed the file from you in New York at that bookstore. His hand snapped up to his right breast pocket. Opening his jacket, he huffed, defeated, dropping his hands to his side. The file was gone. Though, through the heartache, he let a small, fond - and definitely impressed - smile spread onto his face. Yet again, you managed to surprise him. He sighed heavily, running a hand down his face before heading to the bar. He needed a drink.
i really like taron egerton out of the bulk of actors that came out of the 2015-2020 era, he just made a few massive tentpole movies and then went cheers that and seems to have since then done mostly smaller-budget character acting work and found reasons to hang out with everyone he in turn is a massive fan of and buying his mum a house and otherwise staying out of the public eye, and im like. yeah. that's what i'd expect to be the best outcome from having had the opportunities he did in art that genuinely came from initially wowing the older industry professionals: make enough money to be able to choose any project you want, chill out in between, meet a bunch of other cool artists, support your mum
and he's very very good at his job also
#that man had the tiniest taste of fame and went no im going back to wales unless im working fuck that#and i can respect that#taron egerton#he'd be great to see onstage i think#kingsman was a great time for me -- met mimi changed my life wrote a years long rpg began to write fanfic and dip my toe in fandom#outside of simply lurking
“What about this for tonight?”
James had been watching you come in and out of your walk-in closet for hours, trying on dozens of different outfits that all did the same thing — to show off your amazing body. He didn’t care what you wore, you would walk in under his arm tonight and no matter how many people looked and ogled, you were his.
“It’s nice.” He was way too focused trying to control his dick rather than pay attention to what he’d say about your outfits.
You looked beautiful in all of them, he didn’t care what you wore because in all honesty, it’d be off in a matter of seconds. His friend was opening a new club downtown, and it was the grand opening, so of course you had to go all out.
“For fucks sake, James, you’ve been saying the exact same thing for every outfit! You know what, how about I just don’t go, huh?! Nothing in my closet seems to satisfy you, bastard!” You sobbed, stomping into the closet and slamming the door.
“Fuck- Y/N!” He was quick to stand, fixing his cock as he tried to open the door, the lock making him groan. “Y/N, honey, let me in!”
“No! I don’t want to see you!” Your voice was muffled, but he could hear your sobs. Oh you were so over dramatic, but he loved it.
James groaned, leaning his head on the door. “Baby, come on! I think all of them were really nice!”
“Yeah, I know! That’s all you were saying, I don’t want to look nice, I want to look perfect, hot, amazing- anything other than just nice!” You sobbed even louder, wailing as you pressed your face into your hands.
Why was he so short? Why did he keep saying the same damn things over and over again? For fucks sake, he could’ve said something else besides, ‘It’s nice’ for every single damn outfit!
“Oh baby, I didn’t mean it like that! Come on, how about I buy you a new outfit, hm? I’ll take you to that shop you love so much, does that sound good?” He could hear your sobs pause, smiling. You always loved it whenever he took you shopping, this would be no different.
You whimper, his smile widening. “As many outfits as I want?”
He laughed, nodding. “As many as you want.”
“And some lingerie?”
“How could I forget the lingerie, baby?”
“And perfume?”
You were going to make him go broke, but he didn’t care. Not when everything he was about to splurge on was for you.
“How about two perfumes?”
He didn’t even notice the door opening, quickly catching himself before he fell and you ran into his chest with a loud sob. “Don’t ever tell me I look just nice again!”
James laughed, nodding as he stroked your cheeks. “Whatever you say, my love. Do you want to wear that to the store?”
You paused, looking down at your black dress that was way too short but James loved, a smile on his lips as you bent your leg back, looking down at the bottom of your Louboutins. “Yes.”
It makes him laugh again as you walk out, your strut perfectly swinging your hips from side to side before you stop and look back. “Are you coming?”
“Yes ma’am.”
He followed you out the door of your shared room, stepping over the mess of clothes you had made trying to figure out outfits, smiling as you reached back and grabbed his hand. “I’m hungry. Get me some food too?”
“Whatever you want, baby. From the food court or the way back?” It was a simple question, but you pouted like it was the biggest decision on earth.
“I don’t know. They have that really good place at the food court, but I’ve been craving that restaurant too… Can we decide later?” You lead him down the stairs making James nod, smiling.
He could never stop smiling around you, it was impossible. “You just tell me what you want me to do, baby, I’ll pick up whatever you want.”
“How about both?”
“If that’s what you want.”
“That’s what I want! Now come on, we have to go!” You giggled as you pulled him out the door, groaning as you tried to tug on his hand to get him to go faster as he locked the door. “Come on, Jimmy!”
It didn’t take you both to get to the shopping center, James lounging on one of the expensive futons while you changed in the dressing room. “Jimmy, are you ready?!”
“Yes, love!” He sits up, smiling as you walk out of the dressing room onto the platform, the entire dressing room like your own personal runway.
You walked down toward him, showing off the black dress that he was sure you had just tried on earlier back home. “Darling, as beautiful as you looked, didn’t you just try that one?”
You started giggling, nodding. “You passed the test! I wanted to make sure you were paying attention.”
“How could I not when your tits look so good in that dress baby?” He begins to stand, already walking toward you before you pressed a foot to his chest.
“Behave, James, I’m not done with my fashion show. I still have to find an outfit for tonight.” You giggled, pressing your foot against his chest to push him back into the futon. “I’m thinking red.”
“Oh, I don’t care what color it is, as long as I can take it off of you quickly.” He winked up at you, watching as you giggled and strutted back into the dressing room. “Still love that dress, baby!”
In the end, you did settle on a red dress, and he loved it. Oh, he loved it.
As soon as the both of you walked into the club, he squeezed your ass firmly and pressed a kiss to your temple. You were already swaying your hips to the music, giggling as you looked around at the strippers on the pole like how you were looking around at the clothing store.
“Oh, they’re so pretty! James, do you have some bills?” You looked over at him making him nod, not even looking at the women. He was sure they were beautiful, but no one compared to how pretty you were. So instead, he watched as he handed you a lot more hundred dollar bills than he expected and watched as you giggled. “Thank you, baby! I love you!”
“I love you too, darling.” He pressed a firm kiss to your temple and watched as you ran off to join your friends. He slipped through the crowds easily, quickly going up to the main pavilion where everyone was, quickly getting a drink and sitting right on the edge where he watched you throw money – both his and your own – at the very pretty dancers before being dragged to the dance floor with your friends.
He smiled, already taking a sip of his drink before Shawn sat down next to him, letting out a loud cheer that made you look up. He could practically hear your giggle as you waved up at him, James softly kissing his hand as you smiled widely before starting to dance again.
“Oh for fucks sake, Jimmy, you’re fucking whipped.”
James rolls his eyes in annoyance, scoffing. “Yeah, I’d rather be whipped than be getting STDs-”
“Oi, keep it down!” Shawn laughs, leaning over as he takes the next two drinks offered by a server. “Want a drink?”
“I’m good.” James raises his own, shrugging. He didn’t trust Shawn enough to take a drink from him, even if he invited him to the opening. “Can you blame me though? Look at her.”
He watched as you threw your head back, mouth open as you laughed and smoothed down the sides of your dress. Your friends were dancing with each other, one behind you before someone tugged you away making James shoot up.
“Hey, calm down!” Shawn laughs, looking up at James. “That’s Kingsley, man, you know him. He’s a trust fund kid. You can’t do shit to him.”
“Fucking watch me.”
James was already basically running down the stairs, shoving past everyone to get to where you were, yelling at the guy to keep his hands off of you.
“Hey, don’t you fucking hear her?! Get your hands off!” James shoved him, pulling you behind him not even a minute afterwards as Kingsley stumbled. “Get your fucking hands off my girl, you fucking bastard.”
“Oh, hey Jimmy,” Kingsley laughed, pushing his hair back. “Didn’t know this was your girl, she’s prettier than the last time I saw her. You don’t know the meaning of sharing, Keene, come on- fuck!”
Jimmy really couldn’t have been happier when searing-hot pain developed from his knuckles, watching as Kingsley fell back and you yelped loudly. “Jimmy-!”
“Come on,” Jamese grabbed your hand, pulling you back toward the private rooms as you gasped. “Come on, baby, let’s go.”
“Where are we going? Jimmy, what if someone calls the cops-”
“You think I care about some cops?” James walked into the first room with no ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign, pulling you into the room with a smile. “Gonna make sure everyone in the club knows your mine.”
You whimpered as he easily lifted you up, hands holding your ass that was basically falling out of your dress, your hot cunt grinding against his cock as the two of you fell back against the bed. He laughed, his hands groping the fat of your ass as he fixed himself.
“Fuck, darling, you’re already so desperate. What, were you getting wet on the dance floor?” He could feel the wet patch developing on his slacks, hands shaping your thighs as you roll your hips against nothing.
“N-No, no of course not!” It was embarrassing how wet you got just from him punching Kingsley, but it was so fucking hot.
“So when did you get this wet, hm baby? Tell me.” His thick fingers slide up and down your slit, his open mouth sucking and biting against your neck, your mind already blurring as you bucked into his digits.
You weren’t even able to speak at this point, whimpering loudly with his fingers the only thing on your mind. Why hadn’t he pushed them in yet, why wasn’t he fucking you?
“You think you’re still stretched out from last night?”
Well for fucks sake, you were about to find out.
He merely pulled your underwear to the side, his mouth never stopping its assault on your neck, continuing to bite and lick and suck marks all over your skin. Your body was hot, hips bucking uncontrollably as his thumb starts to rub firmly against your clit and his cock slides up and down your slit.
“Y-Your… you’ve already covered my entire neck, J-James, it hurts,” you whisper, gasping as his hot tongue delicately trails over the hickies and bite marks as he slammed his hips forward. It makes your vision go white, a gasp falling from your lips as he groans loudly. “J-Jimmy!”
“Oh my darling girl, I have to mark you — I need to show everyone who you belong to. So that no mother fucker like that ever gets near you again, so everyone knows you’re mine.” He basically growled against your skin, his hips rolling slightly to get his cock deeper inside of you, his balls sliding against the bottom of your cunt, smearing your arousal. “Maybe I should do some more things to make sure everyone knows you’re mine.”
“What, like putting a baby in me?” Your voice was strong now, your hands rubbing against his chest as you slipped open his shirt by undoing the buttons. “You want to have kids while being a drug lord?”
“And I’ll spoil that kid fucking rotten,” he whispered, nuzzling his nose against yours as he sighed. “I’ll spoil you and that kid fuckin’ rotten. Just give me the word and I’ll give you that baby.”
“Y-Yes,” you whisper, ducking down to press a kiss against that mole on his neck. “Yes baby, yes. Give me that baby, get me pregnant.”
That was all he needed to pull out of you before slamming back in, just that one thrust making your mind blur and a loud moan fall from your lips, your first orgasm of the night coming quicker than you thought it would. “F-Fuck Jimmy!”
“Did you-” he paused, staring down at your cunt as he felt you clench around him, over and over again as your hips rutted upwards into his own. “Did you just cum?”
“I-I did, I did, please be gentle-!” You couldn’t even finish your sentence before he flipped you easily onto your stomach, straddling your lower thighs as he held the back of your head, thrusting into you from behind. He was humping against your butt, the pubes on his pelvis rubbing against the globe of your ass as he held your hips to help you stay kneeling upward for him. “Fuck, James!”
“Come on baby, I haven’t even cum once and you're already so sensitive? Fuck, you’re always so desperate for me darling, so fucking desperate for me,” he groaned against your shoulder, his other hand that wasn’t holding your hip going up to intertwine with your own. “How would I not get you pregnant, baby? What would keep you from not getting pregnant from the amount of times I’m about to cum in you?”
His large hand held your hips, his pointer and middle finger rubbing against your swollen clit, his dirty words making your stomach twist. Or maybe it was the amount of times his tip was ramming into your cervix, his cock fucking you like a fleshlight. You could feel sparks running up your back, his hot breath fanning against your skin making everything just feel so much more.
You could feel every stutter of his hips, every sharp breath he took as he groaned against your skin, the sharp thrust that finally concluded his first climax of the night. It wasn’t like he was done yet, though, gently settling your body against the bed and slipping a pillow under your body to help support you.
You could feel the soft material of the pillow case against your puffy clit, your hands digging into the bed as he hoisted your red, two piece dress higher up your body and stared at the movements he made your body do. He watched your knuckles turn white as you gripped onto the sheets, your body bouncing with every thrust as he moved both hands to intertwine his fingers through yours.
“Fuck baby, I’m going to cum inside of you so much, it’s going to leave a damn bulge. There’s no fuckin’ way you won’t get pregnant after this.” He groaned against your skin, gasping as your cunt fluttered around his shaft.
Were you going to cum again? You had felt your stomach tighten so many times, so many fucking times, which orgasm was this? How many times had you cum around his cock?
“F-Fuck!” You screamed out as he thrusted forward, groaning as he rutted against your ass, the both of you cumming at the same time for the first time that night, even though it certainly wouldn’t be the last.
He groaned against your skin as he kissed up your neck to your ear, humming softly. “I’m going to cum inside of you so much that when you walk out of this club, my cum’s going to run down your thighs. Does that sound nice baby?”
“Y-Yes, fuck, yes.”
“Good fucking girl.”
Chapter 4
Dresses, skirts, tops, jeans, and even your favourite black jumpsuit that you wore on your first date with Taron had been pulled from the wardrobe and thrown into the reject pile on your bed. It didn’t matter what you picked, nothing felt right, nothing seemed to fit right or comfortably or made you feel ready for a night out with the girls. You missed the days where you lived close enough to Gemma to text her in a panic and have her appear with the perfect outfit in under 15 minutes.
“What time are you off?” Taron asked, peering his head around the doorframe and looking slightly horrified at the state of the bedroom.
“Whenever I’ve found something to wear. I’m already going to be late now.” You sighed in defeat as you sat at your mirror in your underwear. You’d given up on the clothes and done your hair and make-up instead, postponing the outfit decision until the last minute.
“Do you need me to try and help, or will telling you you look hot in everything make matters worse?” He offered cautiously.
“I know you’d be lying.” You replied as you moved back to the pile of clothes on the bed.
“I wouldn’t. You look hot now.” He was deliberate with his eyes as he drew them slowly up and down your body to admire your matching lingerie.
“Stop that, I believe you. But I need clothes to leave the house. Help?”
“Okay, let’s do this. The quicker I get you out, the sooner you’ll be back and then I can get my hands on you again.” He summarised his plan before placing his hands to your bum whilst he stood behind you and assessed the options before him. “I think black jeans, with that little top with the sleeves.”
“The off-shoulder lace one?”
“Mmmhm.”
“But it’s cropped, and I’m bloated.”
“No, you’re not.” His hands moved up to hug your stomach. “You’re perfect.”
“And due-on. Maybe something I can tuck in instead?” You could practically hear Taron filtering his thoughts carefully before he spoke another word. He’d fallen into the PMS shaped hole of pushing your buttons accidentally one too many times before and was doing his best to learn from past mistakes.
“The teal silky shirt. I like that one.”
“That goes better with my leather skirt.”
“Yeah? I like that too.” He kissed your shoulder softly.
“I suppose I could wear my knee-high boots with that too.” You thought aloud.
“Sounds good, do you want me to book you an uber?”
“Yes please, and grab my black coat from the cupboard downstairs?”
“On it.”
“Thank you, you’re the best, I love you!” You called out after Taron.
“I know!” He shouted back smugly.
***
As the car pulled up outside the bar you’d arranged to meet the girls at you thanked the driver and checked the time on your phone. You were only 15 minutes late. Taron had replied to your thank you text telling you to enjoy your evening and to let him know when you were on your way home, but knowing how evenings with the girls usually went it wasn’t going to be an early finish.
You clocked the three of them sat in a curved booth at the side of the bar, already deep in conversation with a drink in hand, and smiled to yourself when you noticed the spare glass waiting for you.
“Does that cosmo have my name on it?” You announced your arrival and slid into the end of the booth next to Charlotte.
“It’s all yours.” Gemma confirmed. “How are you?”
“Yeah, all good thanks. What about you lot? What have I missed?”
“Not much at all. We were just saying it’s been quiet since New Year’s Eve and that you getting us all here was a nice surprise actually.”
“Glad to be of use. Cheers!” You picked up your cocktail and initiated a toast across the table. “But there might just be a teeny tiny reason why I’ve got you all here too…” You teased and looked around everyone to see the confusion fall to their faces.
“Oh come on, don’t leave us hanging!” Rosie was the first to break the silence.
“So, we’ve got a date in mind for the wedding, and I wanted to ask you all to be my bridesmaids!” You couldn’t help but squeal along in delight as they celebrated your announcement with as many screams as Taron had predicted.
“Yes, Y/N, this is amazing news and about bloody time too!” Charlotte took hold of your hand before changing her mind and pulling you in for a hug.
“So I take it that was a yes to being bridesmaids?” You couldn’t stop smiling.
“As if we’d say no!” They somehow replied in unison.
“Good! Right, I’m going to get us a bottle of prosecco to celebrate.”
You looked back over your shoulder as you waited at the bar to be served and knew that you were on for a great night now the girls were as full of wedding excitement as you had been for the last week. Somehow you could also picture them stood at the end of the aisle in their burgundy dresses, bouquets in hand, looking back at you as you walked forward to marry Taron. It made you shake your head as you went on to picture them drunkenly tearing up the dancefloor and ordering shots for the bride and groom, exactly as you’d done for Charlotte’s wedding 2 years ago. Karma was going to hit bad!
“Oh my god, we need to organise the hen-do!” Rosie though aloud as you topped up her prosecco glass once the bubbles had subsided. “We should do a full-on girl’s holiday. A week away, sun, sea, se-”
“Sangria.” Charlotte interjected quickly whilst flashing her own wedding ring.
“Boring! It’s rubbish being newly single when your mates are all taken. Gemma, can’t you split up with Ryan so we can go out and have some fun? You can get back with him after.” She joked.
“Aw, I’d love to, but I think I might have actually found a keeper at last. I know it’s still early days, but I don’t want to fuck this one up.” Gemma looked over to you and Charlotte for advice.
“Are you at 6 months yet?” You asked.
“Almost. It feels like so much longer though, it’s scary. It feels so different to anything I’ve had before too.” She admitted coyly.
“No, that’s a good thing. Tell Ryan he’s got a wedding invite now so he can’t go anywhere until at least mid-October, but preferably he sticks around for good!”
“I’ll pass the message on.” Gemma grinned. “Thanks, Y/N.”
“October wedding? I love that, it’ll be so autumnal and colourful.” Charlotte chipped in, ready to discuss all the tiny details before Rosie interjected.
“Ibiza in September for the hen! Chill on the beach in the day, get dressed up and hit the clubs at night. Y/N’s always been our party girl so let’s give her a good send-off.”
“I’m not dying!” You laughed.
“I’d actually be up for that.” Charlotte surprised you with her answer. “I could do with a full-on break from responsibilities and go back to the nostalgia of our youth.”
“I’m in too.” Gemma added. “We’ve not had a girl’s holiday in forever.”
It suddenly felt like a week away in Ibiza had been agreed on before you could discuss any other options. You couldn’t lie and say it didn’t sound amazing. You’d come back with a perfect sun-kissed glow for the wedding and have stories to tell Taron for weeks, but you’d also come back in debt. You knew in your gut that Taron would be sensible about his stag and keep it low-key, and you knew you wouldn’t be able to handle the guilt of splashing the cash without him. This absolutely needed to be a compromise and if you didn’t say something now it would only spiral.
“It sounds great, but there’s one small problem.” You added cautiously, conscious of not killing the mood of the night. “I really don’t have the budget for that, and there’s no way I’m asking any of you to cover my costs or loan me money. I’m totally up for clubs, drinks, dancing and chilling out, but can we think more long-weekend city spa break please?”
“Oh, really? I bet we could get a good deal on the flights.” Gemma tried to persuade you. “Plus going when the kids all go back to school halves the cost!”
“Yeah, we should at least research it and find some options first.” Charlotte added.
“Argh, I’m sorry, but I honestly can’t. We’ve just spent a fortune on the house and the wedding is maxing everything out again. It’s so tight as it is. I probably shouldn’t have even bought that prosecco. I’m going to try and get some overtime at work to help, because living like this is so frustrating.” You let your head fall into your hands.
“It’s ok, Y/N. Don’t stress, we can scale back and organise it all and still make sure it’s great. Give us a figure and we’ll stick to it.” Charlotte reassured you and the girls nodded in agreement.
“You sure?”
“Y/N it’s fine. It’s your hen-do so we’ll go with whatever you want to do.” Rosie had calmed her excitement. “I just got carried away.”
“It’s very easy to dream up a hot Mediterranean man to have sex on the beach with in Ibiza.” Gemma lightened the tone by lowering it.
“What’s the Spanish version of the name Ryan?” Rosie teased.
“Probably not as weird as the Spanish version of Taron” Gemma fired back in your direction.
With that your night returned to the normal level of teasing, banter, jokes and gossip and you were left with a calmer feeling. They were your girls for a reason and they’d always have your back.
A/N: Chapter six!! @brayndilyn and I spent so long working on this chapter, and this was the chapter that made me want to go to NYC even more than I already did! I hope you enjoy!
Word Count: 7.5k
Warnings: Explicit language, angst, talks of neglectful parents, narcissistic behaviours
February 20th, 2022
Boston was amazing. Liliana didn’t get to see as much of it as she would have liked but she also had the best time at her first ever signing. As they drove down the street to Barnes and Noble at Boston University, Liliana saw the line of people waiting to get in. There must have been almost a hundred people there, if not more, and she’d been so overwhelmed that she got teary.
Evelyn quickly wiped the tears away and reminded her that this was for her to enjoy and that tears would ruin photos and she didn’t want that. They’d laughed together then and Liliana took her phone out of her bag to video the line, sending it to Taron with a wtf, this is intense. They’re here for me! Asfasfas x. He’d texted back pretty quickly with a keyboard smash of his own.
He made her promise to remember him when she was a super famous author and she’d laughed at him, telling him to bugger off and that she would text him when she was in the hotel that night.
Having Taron only a text away, and only an hour behind now that she was in the States rather than the six hours when she was at home, had eased so much of her anxiety when it came to the US tour. She knew that he would give her whatever support she needed without question. Whether that was sweet support where he told her how amazing she was, or the tough love kind of support where he told her to stop being a wimp and get on with it because this is what she’d worked hard for and these people where there to prove to her that she is worth so much more than she thought about herself.
Liliana’s feelings for Taron had grown exponentially since she got back from Aberystwyth. There hadn’t been a single day since they got back where they hadn’t texted one another constantly, and Liliana still smiled like a giddy school girl whenever his name popped up on her screen. His texts were the notifications she prioritised and for the first time in years she’d started to keep her phone on loud rather than silent. She didn’t want to miss one of his texts.
Taron was the first person she thought of when she woke up in the morning and he was the last thing on her mind before she fell asleep at night. He consumed her every thought. The depths of her feelings was unlike anything she’d known before and they scared her because she was very aware of the fact that it wouldn’t go beyond a friendship with him. She tried to tell herself that she was content having Taron back in her life, hoping that if she told herself enough she would start to believe it.
After Boston, they headed to New York City where she spent the first day in another book signing. The queue of people waiting to get in went around the corner and she was so confused as to how so many people knew who she was and why they wanted to meet her.
Evelyn talked her down from a panic attack and reminded her that she did the whole thing three times in Boston so she could do it again. They got out of the car and Liliana waved to people in line before heading inside.
She racked her brain to try and remember what had been said in the meetings leading up to leaving where she’d been told how to act and what not to say and do. Evelyn told her to relax in those meetings so she hadn’t really paid much attention which hadn’t proven to be a problem until now.
‘Ev,’ she whispered into her ear as they got to the area they would be talking, ‘I’m scared. This feels different to Boston. It’s a whole new crowd. I don’t know what I’m doing.’
Evelyn turned to her with soft eyes. ‘Liliana, you’re fine. You’re going to read the first chapter of the book after you say hello and introduce yourself. Then, you invite people to ask questions but you only take three. If anybody asks you about your family and growing up, you smile and tell them that you’re thankful for all of the lessons you learnt because without those, you wouldn’t be here right now. If someone asks you anything about a romantic relationship, you tell them whatever you want. Don’t go overboard though. If someone asks about the second book, you tell them that you can’t divulge such information at this time but as soon as you can it will be on your social media and the website for them to look at.’
‘And if they ask anything else?’
‘Then you use that GCSE Drama to good use and make something up on the spot. You’re in love with an actor, surely you know some ways to pretend.’
‘Ev!’ Liliana cried, eyes wide and mouth agape. ‘You did not just say that to me.’
‘It’s the truth.’
‘Oh honey, you’re so in love with him it’s painful,’ Jacob piped up when he was done with the conversation with the manager of the store. ‘Even I can tell you’re in love with him.’
Liliana fake cried at them. ‘I really should have brought other people with me. You’re useless. Let’s get this over with.’
‘Oh wow, babe, you can have a little more enthusiasm than that.’
Liliana glared at Evelyn and took her jacket off, throwing it at Jacob who laughed at her and guided her to where she needed to be.
‘Remember, you’re amazing. You’re strong. You’re a badass bitch with a book and two of the best friends in the entire world.’
‘I have the meanest friends in the entire world,’ Liliana called back with a cackle. She could do this. She could read the first chapter of her book to a group of people she had never met and then she could sign books and take photos with people. ‘I’m ready. Let’s do this.’
‘I’m sorry miss,’ the manager said sheepishly, ‘but the doors don’t open until ten. We have an hour until that happens.’
All three of them burst into fits of laughter. They weren’t usually known for their punctuality as a group. Liliana on her own was the most punctual person, but as soon as she was around Evelyn and Jacob she was useless. They all huddled together at a table in the corner and discussed Boston and what they planned to do on their day off in New York. Evelyn had a glint in her eye when she listened to Liliana list off all the things she wanted to do but she wouldn’t give in whenever she was asked about it.
That evening, after hitting two different bookstores and meeting more people than she thought possible, all of whom praised the book and gushed about how much it had helped them, Liliana, Evelyn and Jacob headed for dinner with the CEO of Condé Nast, Robert Saurberg Jr.
Liliana had the fanciest meal of her life at the Loeb Boathouse restaurant in Central Park and she wished that it wasn’t such an important dinner so that she could send photos to Taron who had the day off from filming.
During the dinner, Robert asked if she would be up for interviews with different magazines under his umbrella where she would give exclusive access to her life. She asked if she could think about it. In the whole process of writing her book and publishing it, she never intended to become famous, and the idea made her anxious.
After that, dinner went on swiftly and they all had a great evening drinking and getting to know Robert, who gave them exclusive recommendations on places they should eat in the other cities they would be heading to after New York.
***
Liliana was reading in bed when her phone buzzed next to her. It was their last day in New York so she got to spend it doing whatever she pleased, starting with a lazy morning reading in bed before she got up and headed out for the day.
She let herself get to the end of the page before putting her bookmark in and closing the book.
Welcome to New York, it’s been waiting for you. Go to Washington Square Park at 11:30. There is a surprise waiting for you! T x
Liliana read the text five times. The first time she laughed because he’d used Taylor Swift lyrics that fit exactly how she’d felt about New York. The second time, she wondered what could possibly be at Washington Square Park waiting for her. The third time she wanted to make sure that it was actually Taron who had sent the message. The fourth time, she noted that it said to be there for half eleven and it was already ten. The fifth time, she wondered if Taron was in New York.
He couldn’t be. He had been called to stay in New Orleans for an extra few days to reshoot a couple of scenes. She thought that maybe he had planned something for her to do which started at the park so she climbed out of bed and trudged to the bathroom to shower.
While she was putting her hair up into a simple ponytail to keep it out of her face during the day, Liliana decided that she would get an Uber to the park to make her life a little easier. The price tag pained her a little but everything she did on the trip was being put on the company card so it wasn’t coming directly from her bank.
***
Liliana stopped in her tracks when she got to the archway at Washington Square Park. With arms held open ready for her to step into, and a smile bright enough to outshine Times Square, Taron waited for her. Liliana took a deep breath and ran to him. She almost knocked him down with the force of her hug but he managed to stay upright, holding her tight.
They hadn’t seen one another in almost a month but being together made it seem as though they hadn’t been apart at all.
‘Welcome to New York, little bird,’ he chuckled against her hair as he swayed her softly. ‘How’s this for a surprise?’
‘Perfect. How come you didn’t tell me you were here?’ Liliana wouldn’t let him go. She rested her head against his chest and relished in being in his arms again. He was firm against her front and she wondered if he’d worked out some while being away. ‘I’m in New York, Taron. Like actually in New York. America!’
A group of people walking past turned to smile at them before continuing on their walk. Taron tipped his head at them in a polite gesture before prying Liliana out of his arms so that he could look at her. His hands rested on her shoulders and he pushed her back ever so slightly to gain eye contact.
‘I am so proud of you, Lil, you have no idea.’ She hugged him again and he laughed happily. ‘Mam says she’s proud too and that you need to text her ASAP to tell her about the trip or she’ll have you.’
***
New York was beautiful that day, unseasonably warm with blue skies and the sun beaming down gentle rays. The cherry blossoms had begun to wake from their winter slumber and blessed the city with pink trees of heaven, petals floating down and dancing on the ground around their feet.
Liliana and Taron had walked around a little bit before they found a seat near the fountain to sit for a little while and catch up properly. They sat so close together that their thighs would have melded together had they been any closer. Liliana took time to take in her surroundings when the conversation fell to a natural lull.
The park was full of NYU students who were back in school after winter break, coffees in hand to try and keep them awake for their classes. Everywhere Liliana looked, the park buzzed with students, tourists, street performers and so many dogs she thought she might die. Whenever they came across a dog, she asked to pet it, kneeling down and getting excited.
As she admired a group of friends laughing together close to the fountain, taking photos of each other and having what seemed to be a fun day, somebody jumped on the piano close to the archway and started to play an instrumental version of a song Liliana would know anywhere.
Sign of the Times played and she closed her eyes to let the music wash over her. It was her favourite song, by her favourite artist, and she had to take a deep breath to control the quiver of emotion that bubbled in her throat.
Taron watched her tilt her head back to the sky and listen to the music, her lips turning into a soft smile. He grabbed her hand and looked at her in excitement when she looked at him, eyebrows furrowed until she realised what he was about to do.
He pulled her closer to the piano and twisted her into his body so that he could wrap his arm around her waist. They danced together to the music and Liliana smiled at him, beginning to sing along with the song.
‘Just stop your crying, have the time of your life,’ she sang quietly. Taron was in love with her voice and decided not to join in the singing just so he could enjoy it a little longer. ‘Breaking through the atmosphere, and things are pretty good from here, remember everything will be alright.’
‘Are you?’ Taron asked when she stopped singing to the music.
‘Am I what?’
‘Having the time of your life?’
Liliana nodded. There were tears in her eyes but she smiled widely at him. ‘You have no idea. I still can’t believe that you’re here.’
‘I missed you and needed to see you,’ he admitted.
He continued to waltz her around happily and she threw her head back to bark a laugh when he almost stumbled over. He pouted at her but then joined in her laugh. They didn’t care that they were in public and were being watched by hundreds of other people. They were two people, enjoying one another’s presence and being in the moment.
When the song ended and they stopped dancing, everyone around them erupted into cheers and applause and they both blushed profusely. Taron grabbed Liliana’s hand and looked at her, silently asking if she trusted him. She nodded before they took off running out of the park, laughing loudly.
It reminded Liliana of running through the rain back in Aberystwyth the year she left for university. They’d been on top of Constitution Hill cloud watching when the rain started. They had to run down the hill and onto the seafront to find shelter. They were soaked by the time they got there.
‘I want to show you some of my favourite places,’ Taron said when they were a block away from the park. ‘If you’re up for it? I know you wanted to do touristy things but-’
‘I want to see New York through your eyes,’ she smiled at him. ‘Tourist attractions be damned. Show me New York, T.’
The rest of the morning was spent wandering around the West Village where they passed countless rows of brownstones. Liliana thought they were some of the most beautiful houses she’d ever seen and kept stopping in front of them to just admire them. She couldn’t help but peek into the windows of them and wonder what the person living there was like. What they did for work, how much they loved living in New York, how often they had guests over for dinner parties on Friday evenings.
She loved London and she loved her flat but she wished she had even a sliver of green space that she could use to create a garden like the occupants of the brownstones had. Hell, she’d take a balcony she could put planters on. If it weren’t for Matilda she could have easily packed up all of her belongings and moved into one of the many brownstones she’d passed that day.
Taron obliged every time she wanted to admire one, stepping back and watching as she took it all in. He couldn’t stop smiling at her. Though he wished he could read her mind so he knew what she was thinking as she stood with her arms by her sides and her head tilted up to look at the houses.
‘You know,’ Taron started as they headed to Bleecker Street, where his favourite record shop was, ‘I love the anonymity that this part of the city affords me. Granted, I have quite a bit wherever I go but here I feel like I don’t have to put on appearances just in case. I can do whatever I want and be me and that’s enough, you know?’
Liliana wrapped her arms around his bicep, leaning on him as they walked. ‘I understand. I can tell you don’t have a mask on. It’s like when we got to Aber at Christmas, you just took this deep breath in the car and there was a different version of you in front of me. I like this version of you. I like all versions of you but this one is my favourite.’
Taron took a deep breath and smiled at her, whisking her into the record shop. They spent almost an hour rummaging through bins of vinyls. When they were at opposite ends of the shop, they would call to the other to show them music from when they were little, and when they were next to one another, they would slide whatever they’d found in front of the other person with a cheeky grin.
In the end, Liliana bought five records, one each for Evelyn and Jacob and three for herself. Taron bought himself and his mum the same record of music they’d listened to in the car when he was younger and he bought the Rocketman soundtrack for Liliana as a joke. She loved it and vowed to play it all the time.
They had worked up an appetite shopping for records so they headed to Magnolia Bakery where he asked her once more if she trusted him.
‘You need to stop asking me that,’ she laughed. ‘I trust you wholeheartedly. And I hereby respond to every future time you ask if I trust you that unless I state otherwise, I trust you with everything.’
Taron headed inside to buy a cupcake while Liliana waited outside. She stood on the sidewalk and saw the bookstore across the road so she crossed over to look in the windows. There, on the shelf staring back at her next to a bunch of tote bags and other books that she’d read before, was her book.
Emotion rushed over her as she truly realised what was happening. She was in New York City and was going to other cities across the States, with her best friends from work celebrating her book.
And she was with Taron. The book was the reason she was with Taron. She’d invited him to the book launch but had no idea if he would actually show up. Part of her had hoped he wouldn’t go. She’d poured everything into the book but was unsure how she would handle seeing him again and reliving the entire thing.
But he had shown up and it turned out that inviting him had been the best decision she could have ever made.
‘I wondered where you’d gotten to,’ he said when he stood next to her. He saw the book and looked in her eyes through the reflection of the glass. ‘I saw it in New Orleans too and I realised that the book-’
‘If it weren’t for the book, we wouldn’t be here right now. We probably wouldn’t have gotten back in touch,’ Liliana finished for him, turning to face him with a sad smile. ‘I’m so glad you came to the book launch.’
‘I’m so glad you invited me.’ He handed over a tub. ‘It’s banana pudding, don’t look at it like it’s some weird alien thing.’
‘And banana pudding is…what, exactly?’ She took the tub from Taron and looked at it sceptically.
‘It’s bananas, a firm custard and cake pieces. I got a large because you have to really indulge in this stuff. If you can’t finish it, I got an extra spoon.’
'We can share it,’ she said, offering him the tub. ‘I don’t mind.’
‘I promise, the second you have some you will no longer want to share it.’
Liliana took her first bite. Her eyes instantly closed as she moaned happily around the mouthful. ‘Okay so this is what heaven is like. Good to know.’
Taron laughed at her before guiding her down the street so they could head towards Greenwich Village and the Lower East Side. They come across a small street fair on Houston Street and stop to admire the New York themed artwork.
Liliana had made light work of the banana pudding but left just under half of it, which Taron finished for her. He’d asked if she was sure and she told him that if she ate anymore then she would pop and she wanted to enjoy the rest of their day. He laughed but obliged, eating the rest of the pudding with the same spoon Liliana had used.
After Liliana purchased a small piece of artwork that she wanted to put up in her living room to remember the trip, they found themselves at a cocktail bar to ‘rest their feet’ as Taron had suggested.
Liliana was so grateful that Taron was there and had shown her all of his favourite parts of New York, or at least as many as he was able to in their one day there. He’d promised that one day they would go back and spend a few days exploring the city fully and Liliana couldn’t wait. At the start of the day she’d planned to go to all of the touristy areas but somehow going everywhere but to those places made her feel like she’d really experienced New York City. She beamed over the perfect day she’d experienced over a Manhattan, a joke because of where they were. Though she didn’t enjoy the drink as much as she thought she would. Taron had laughed at her initial reaction, her face scrunched up tightly.
‘I thought it was going to be sweeter,’ she grimaced, taking another sip because she refused to leave it after what it cost.
They laughed again at some of the things they’d done and the characters that they’d seen during the day, like the guy with a cat on his head. Liliana had had the best day and she had loved every single minute of it and of getting to spend time with Taron.
Three drinks later, the sun had started to set and the winter chill set back in. Liliana wrapped her arms around herself as they continued walking through the city, soaking up every possible minute they had together.
‘What do you think about heading back to my hotel to relax for a bit? We could get pizza and watch something on the TV? American Netflix is so much better than ours.’
Liliana nodded enthusiastically. ‘That sounds really good. I’m freezing and want to relax before tomorrow’s travel day.’
Taron pulled his phone out of his pocket and ordered them an Uber to get back. ‘You have two options for food, actually. We can get pizza, or we can order room service. Either way, we’ll nip to the liquor store near the hotel and get something to drink. Or we could get a drink from the bar, actually.’
‘As much as room service is always a good idea because…good food, I’ve had it so much these past few days. Plus, I’ve come all the way to New York and I haven’t had a single slice of pizza which is a crime, I believe. So I vote for pizza. And we can get drinks at the bar. It’s too cold,’ she laughed.
‘Pizza it is. Come on, the Uber will be here in a minute. I’ll order pizza to the hotel. There’s this place called Joe’s and they do the best pizza! What would you like on it?’
Liliana thought for a minute, going over the options in her head. ‘I’ll just have a regular old Pepperoni, please.’
***
The Uber pulled up outside Taron’s hotel and Liliana stepped out and stared at him in amazement.
‘This is your hotel?’ She asked, her arms once again wrapped around her middle. Taron nodded. ‘My room is on the 16th floor. Room 1653.’
‘No way!’ Taron chuckled. Liliana could hear the fake shock and she stared at him, blinking three times in quick succession.
‘You knew?’
‘I may or may not have had this whole thing planned out with Evelyn for a week or so,’ he admitted. ‘I swore her to secrecy but I knew I wanted to surprise you today and what better way to end the night by both being in the same hotel?’
‘So this is why she was acting so sheepish the other day at the book signing. I’m gonna kill her.’
Taron laughed. ‘Don’t kill her. It was all my idea, promise. Come on, let’s go get a drink.’
Their pizza was waiting for them at reception when they got there and Taron took it from the counter happily before he headed to the lift to get to his room. He decided that they would order drinks via room service so that they could eat sooner.
Liliana’s stomach grumbled loudly in the lift and Taron lifted the pizza box to her nose, circling it in front of her, in response. She eyed him grumpily and put her hand just under the waistband of her jeans to pull them away from her skin.
‘I am so uncomfortable in these clothes,’ she complained. ‘I might nip to my room and get changed before food, if that’s okay?’
‘No need,’ Taron smiled. ‘I’ve got a hoodie and bottoms you can borrow.’
Liliana’s heart fluttered at his offer. The last time she’d borrowed his clothes had been at Christmas when she stayed at his house for the night.
Stealing clothes from a man was a very intimate thing to her. Even when she’d had casual flings with someone, she’d never borrowed their clothes until she knew that they meant something to her. They never meant anything to her. Taron meant everything to her.
‘Thank you, that sounds nice.’
They sat together on Taron’s bed, their legs crossed and a box of pizza in front of them. Taron had bought the large pizza so that they could share, but it was big enough that Tina, Rosie, Marie and Matilda could have had some and they would all have been satisfied.
Taron had thrown Liliana a black hoodie and a pair of joggers when they got to the room and she put them on happily in the bathroom. His hoodie felt like a giant hug and it smelled like him. She kept lifting the neckline up to inhale his scent and he’d caught her a couple of times but never mentioned it to her.
There was something about the intimacy of being in his bed, in his clothes, with his knees touching hers that made her feel vulnerable. More vulnerable than she’d been in a long time.
Between touring different time zones and talking about her childhood more than she ever had, as well as being away from her safe space at home, Liliana’s vulnerability exploded and she couldn’t help the tears that fell.
Taron looked at her with sad eyes and immediately moved the pizza to the bedside table so he could pull her into his arms. The position was awkward but Liliana didn’t care. She needed the comfort that Taron was giving her.
‘Do you want to talk?’ Taron whispered into her hair softly. ‘If you do, remember everything will be alright.’
Liliana pulled away from the hug and wiped her eyes even though she still cried. She lifted the hem of the hoodie up to her ribs. The tattoo that she’d gotten five years prior when she was writing the book for the first time and thinking back to Taron being in her life sat proudly.
Taron refrained from reaching forward to run his fingers over it. Instead he looked at the tattoo again and then up to Liliana who slowly pulled the hoodie down and used the sleeves to make paws over her hands. She was starting to withdraw slightly.
‘That’s a lyric, right? A Harry Styles one? From that song we danced to earlier.’
‘It is,’ she sniffled and wet her lips. ‘But it’s also what you used to tell me when we were teenagers and I was worried about leaving for university. You always told me that everything would be alright. So as much as it’s a tattoo to represent a song that means more to me than I could ever put into words, it’s also a tattoo to represent a friendship I missed more than anything, and a person who I loved.’
Her admission was too much for her and the floodgates opened once more. She sobbed aggressively on the bed with her head in her hands and Taron held her in his arms again to try and comfort her. But it didn’t work.
The one thing that he’d been able to do so easily for so long was impossible that evening. He wanted to text his mum and ask her what to do but he needed to have his full attention on Liliana who was struggling to breathe.
He held her top half while manoeuvring them so that they were laid down on the bed, Liliana’s body rested in the crook of Taron’s body and his arms wrapped tightly around her. He rocked her slightly and hoped that the new position would allow for her to breathe a little easier.
Liliana still cried but she was calmer thanks to being able to breathe better. She looked up at Taron through wet eyelashes but closed her eyes again when Taron wiped under her eye. He looked at her with concern and she felt awful for putting this on him.
‘Talk to me?’ He asked her tentatively, tucking a piece of hair that had fallen out of her ponytail behind her ear so that she didn’t eat it. ‘If you want to.’
‘I want to tell you everything,’ she told him before closing her eyes to try to stop herself from crying more. ‘But I’m scared.’
‘Scared of what?’
‘Scared that you’ll think differently of me. That you won’t want to know me when you finally know the truth. I’m scared that I’m going to lose you again.’
‘Lil,’ he whispered, tears starting to well in his eyes. ‘I promise you won’t lose me again. I’m never going anywhere.’
Liliana took a deep breath and opened up completely. She bared her soul to Taron and told him about the day she was pulled out of school and found out about her dad cheating on her mum and how she’d spent weeks crying herself to sleep because for eleven years she’d woken up and fallen asleep in the same house as both of her parents who told one another that they loved each other and then it was all pulled out from under her.
She admitted that she hadn’t seen her dad since she was twelve and that he hadn’t once tried to reach out to her in all that time. The last time she’d seen him was when her mum told him that she hoped he wrapped his car around a tree and died.
Taron gasped when he heard that and held her close but stayed quiet. It was the most she’d ever told him and he wanted to listen to her, to let her talk and tell him everything that she wanted to.
Liliana told him about the way her mum had truly treated her throughout her teenage years, and how she’d spent more time doing things that her mum should have been doing, like cooking and cleaning and doing the shopping, than anything else. She missed out on her teenage years and she hated that she’d never get them back. She was twenty at fourteen.
When she explained that there’d been a time in her teens when she had thoughts that she didn’t ever want to think about again, just so that she could escape the constant pain she was in, Taron cried with her. He held her even tighter and told her that he was there and she cried harder.
‘I’m sorry you went through all of that. I didn’t know.’
‘I didn’t say anything,’ Liliana said, finally looking at Taron. Both of them had red eyes and snotty noses and she leaned back into his chest and held him close, inhaling his scent. ‘I didn’t want anybody to know what was really going on. That’s why I applied to Edinburgh. I wanted to be as far away as I could get so that I could start somewhere new without the cloud of Eliza and my childhood hanging over my head. I never got to be a teenager properly. I never got to go on holiday or dance in the rain or go to house parties and get drunk with all of my friends or go to concerts because I was too busy parenting myself.’
‘Lil.’
‘It’s fine. I got used to it pretty quickly. And I thought that maybe once I left for uni, things would change. I was naive enough to think that space would improve my relationship with my mum but it didn’t. It made it worse. Every time I go back to Aber to see Matilda I sit and wait for the comments from mum. She doesn’t love me. She pretends she does to other people but she doesn’t.’
‘Oh Lil, I’m so sorry.’
Liliana sniffled and started to cry fully again. She hadn’t ever told anybody how her mum felt about her before and it felt both freeing and terrible to tell somebody. ‘She told me herself, on Christmas morning. I went to the kitchen for a drink and she came in after me. I thought she wanted a drink herself but she just turned bitter for no reason. She told me that she was glad I moved away because it meant she didn’t have to pretend to love me anymore. I spent the rest of the day upstairs on my own.’
So that was why she’d been crying on Christmas day. Taron couldn’t do anything but hold her even tighter. His heart had shattered into billions of pieces and he wanted to use the pieces of his heart to patch up Liliana’s.
‘Liliana, look at me,’ he said after a few minutes of letting her cry. He tilted her chin up with his thumb and let his heart break even more when he saw just how much the sparkle in her eyes had died. ‘Thank you for feeling comfortable enough to tell me all of this. I wish I’d have known sooner, mum and me would have helped or-’
‘You couldn’t have helped,’ Liliana replied, licking her lips to wet them again. ‘Nobody could have helped. It happened, I grew up, I wrote a book and I only go back home when I really have to. And that’s only to see Matilda. And now it’ll be to see your mum too. I missed her.’
Taron looked at her for a moment and took a deep breath. Liliana could feel his chest move against hers as he breathed.
‘Lil, there’s something I need to tell you,’ he whispered after a few seconds, pushing the strand of hair behind her ear again after it had fallen. ‘On Christmas Eve when I spent time with you and Matilda, I realised…that you’ve never been just a friend to me.’
‘Taron…’ Liliana warned. ‘Please.’
‘There’s always been something there but I never let myself act on it. I think I started to realise when you were getting ready to leave for uni but I didn’t want to hold you back. I knew you needed to leave, even if I didn’t know just how much you needed to leave until right now, and me telling you how I felt would have held you back. You just bared your entire soul to me and I don’t think I’ve ever felt this kind of sorrow before. You deserve so much more than what you’ve had.
‘You deserve a family who will always show you love, and who will mean it. I want to be that family for you. I’ve always wanted to be that family.’
Taron leaned closer to Liliana until their noses touched. She could feel his breath on her lips and she froze, gulping hard. It’s all she’d ever wanted but it was too much all at once. She leaned back as Taron leaned in, her head screaming at her to get out of the bed, the room, the hotel, the city. She wanted to be anywhere but there.
Taron watched as she scurried off the bed, making some excuse about needing to be up early to head to Philly. She grabbed her clothes from the chair in the corner and her bag and left the room, letting the door slam loudly behind her.
Her heart was beating so fast. She ran to the lift and pressed the button over and over until it dinged and the doors opened. It wasn’t until the doors closed behind her that she realised Taron hadn’t followed her like she thought he might.
Taron lay on his bed and rested his elbow over his eyes. He was pissed at himself for even thinking that it was a good time to tell Liliana how he felt. She had just opened herself up to him fully and in a way he’d wished she would for years. Her vulnerability was clear and he’d held her for almost an hour while she told him why she was the way she was. She had explicitly told him that she’d struggled to open up to anyone and he still took advantage of her vulnerability to tell her that he had feelings for him.
But he was also confused. He thought he’d read her right. She told him that she’d loved him, and the way she said it very strongly implied that she was still in love with him. He thought they’d made progress until she shut herself down again like she had so many times before. All he wanted was to know why, and to have her know that he was there for her.
He decided that he needed to step back and respect Liliana’s very clear boundaries. There must have been a reason she was so reserved. Everything she told him had affected her badly so maybe she needed time to realise that he was there for her.
Even though he was mad at himself for doing what he did, he couldn’t bear the thought of Liliana thinking he was mad at her for leaving him. He still wanted to be there for her, despite not knowing when he would see her next. He texted Evelyn asking for their return information to London but didn’t answer any of her questions that followed.
Liliana’s room was pitch black when she got back but she couldn’t bring herself to switch on the light. She was too sad and too weak to do anything but drop her bag on the floor near the door and stumble her way to the bed. The bed was made from housekeeping earlier in the day but she didn’t attempt to pull the covers open to climb into them. She curled up on top of them and pulled the neckline of Taron’s hoodie closer to her face where she could inhale his scent.
Her heart broke into millions of pieces as she lay in the dark, her mind replaying what had happened in Taron’s bedroom. She curled herself up more and let the tears fall. The thought of having to continue the book tour made her want to cry more. She’d always been good at putting on a fake smile, throwing her hair up and pretending like everything was fine but she didn’t know how she would manage that when she hurt the way she hurt.
February 21st, 2022
The next morning, Liliana woke up with the worst headache she’d had in a long time. She’d only had an hour and a bit of sleep and was feeling it.
She fished through her bag for the Tylenol she’d bought in Boston and took two with the lukewarm water on the bedside table from the day before. The room was still dark despite the curtains being open and she checked the time on her phone.
She could have stayed asleep for at least another hour but she didn’t want to have the same dream she’d had all night. Taron had confessed that he had feelings for her and she’d left him in his room alone. It played on repeat all night until she woke up with tears in her eyes.
What had started out as the best day she’d ever had, exploring a dream city with Taron and feeling so free, turned out to be a nightmare. She hadn’t expected to tell him about the years leading up to her leaving for university but it happened and she wished that she could take it all back.
Above all, she wished that she could take back leaving his room without explanation. She wished she’d have pulled away when he leaned in to kiss her, something she’d wanted him to do for so long, to tell him that he was moving too fast and she couldn’t change gears so quickly. Not after revealing her deepest, darkest thoughts to him.
She should have told him that it wasn’t that she didn’t feel the same way about him and that she was happy to finally know that he was on the same page, but she just needed him to hold her and tell her that everything would be okay again. That she wasn’t broken after everything she’d been through.
There was so much that she should have done. What she could have done. Instead she had run back to her room like a coward and wouldn’t be able to see him until they were both back in London. The only way she could have apologised to him before being back home was to go to his room before she left and do it. But she refused to wake him at four thirty in the morning. The chances were that he wouldn’t want to see her again anyway so it was for the best that she didn’t.
Evelyn eyed her suspiciously as she climbed into the car but she ignored her best friend. She sat in her seat, fastened her seatbelt and put her earphones in to listen to music. It was only a little under two hours to their next destination but it seemed to take forever.
Liliana had to stop herself from crying multiple times during the drive and struggled to keep her composure. The hoodie she’d borrowed from Taron was still wrapped around her top half and she curled into it, inhaling Taron’s scent and wishing she could change everything that happened the night before.
During the drive she started to text Taron, typing out an entire paragraph before deciding that it didn’t sound right so deleting it. She repeated it multiple times until she gave up altogether. There was no way that he would want to talk to her after everything that happened. He wouldn’t want her anymore.
Liliana somehow managed to get through the few days in Philadelphia without breaking down into tears every time she talked about the book. Evelyn and Jacob sensed that something had happened, especially with how sad she’d been and how Taron asked for their return info, but Liliana wouldn’t tell them anything.
When they were headed to LA and Seattle, Liliana realised that she couldn’t give Taron nothing so she texted him to apologise for running out. She told him that she’d get his clothes back to him when she was back in London and that she hoped the last bit of filming went okay. The text was short compared to how she normally texted him but she wanted her apology to be in person so that she could see his response. Not to mention that the way between telling him and his response would kill her. Though she didn’t receive a response at all. It was radio silent from Taron’s end and it hurt but she understood. He didn’t want to speak to her and she couldn’t blame him.
I Was Born To Love You
Hello My Tumblr Lovely's,
Here is the next past of the story! :)
Suze xx
13
“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach”
The front of the 7/1 hadn’t changed since Robyn was last at it and she shaded her eyes from the early morning sun as she stood on the footpath outside. Taking Taron’s advice, she had texted Maggie who had replied back to her straight away despite the late hour and told her she would meet her inside as she would already be on shift but now that Robyn was here, she didn’t know why she felt the need to come back to the store. Late into the night herself and Taron talked endlessly about their time in the store, sharing memories, stories and reminiscing about everything. They then moved onto each time they had spent together since like Eltons party where their hug was photographed many times, her first trip to Aber, her second trip to Aber when they had their first kiss, their second kiss as a dare for St Patrick’s Day and all the others since and he still was the beautiful, thoughtful and caring man she had met over a year ago in this dammed place.
“Fuck it.” She said to herself. “Just go in and out. You know Taron is fine. More than fine. You left him half an hour ago, lazing in bed and he will be still be there when you get back.” Even though Taron had said he would be at the beach waiting for her, he changed his mind and said he would stay at the hotel room for her until she got back and they could go and get something for brunch at one of the cafes on the beach together before strolling around Clearwater to look in some shops, taking a lazy easy day together.
With another sigh, Robyn knew Maggie was inside and going to be there for her and she finally took a step off the footpath into the car park, but stopped again outside the store. There was a shake in her hands and her heart was racing and again she was questioning herself as to why she even thought about doing this. It was a stupid idea. Who needed the closure. She was happy. She had Taron and he was all she needed. But looking up the store again, every now and again she still had nightmares and dreams and thoughts that she needed to heal and she had no idea when she was going to be back in Clearwater. It had been a year and she needed her next year to be nightmare free, while building more wonderful memories with Taron.
“Get a grip and just go in.” She told herself. “Get Taron his turtles and then get back to him.”
“Yes definitely don’t forget the turtles.” Robyn turned around when someone spoke behind her, immediately recognising the voice and she stood in shock when she saw Richard standing two feet from her, sunglasses on his face, dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. “He will never let you live it down if you don’t get them.”
It only took her one step to walk into his open arms for a hug and she felt her whole-body melt into his and his familiarity. She hadn’t seen him since her birthday weekend and it was wonderful to hug him again. Always in constant communication with each other through texts and calls, their friendship was so important to her. It was Richard she sat beside and spoke with as they sat in the 7/11 while Taron zoned in and out as he sat in pain. Richard who kept her in conversation and chat and distracted her from her own worries and she had a connection and friendship with the Scotsman that would always be important to her. Robyn couldn’t believe it was Richard who was hugging her tight to him and she closed her eyes and took a calming deep breath, feeling him rub his hands gently up and down her back.
“What are you doing here?” She asked into his shoulder after a few moments, finally lifting her head to look at him.
“Passing through.” He grinned, giving her cheek a kiss. “Heard you might need a friend.”
“Taron…” Robyn’s word was a sigh.
“Gave me call.”
“You’re in Clearwater?” She asked, her arms still in a hug around him, Richard’s the same around hers.
“Miami, but drove up.”
“Richard…” Robyn stepped back from him, her hands running through her hair. “You didn’t have to do that.”
“Of course I did.” He slipped his sunglasses from his face, hooking them into his t-shirt. “You think I am going to let you walk in here alone?”
“I will have Maggie.” Robyn protested, seeing Richard raise his eyebrow.
“And I don’t dispute how good a friend she is for but me and you, we went through something in here together Robyn and you know how we kept each other from panicking as we sat and we should walk in here together and back out…”
“… With me too.”
If she was shocked to see Richard, when Taron appeared, Robyn’s heart dropped to her feet and thankfully he reached for her to take her in his arms and she clung to him tightly.
Taron already knew he was going to tell Robyn to go the 7/11 as they sat on the beach together after their disagreement. He had a whole speech prepared for her, to say to her in the bath but the shorter version came out just telling her to go. He could tell she desperately wanted to when they were sitting on the sand but also that she that she did not want to hurt his feelings in doing so. He had always respected her and her wishes and he never wanted to stop her from doing something she needed to do, so when he was finished with his treatments at the spa the day before, he had rung Richard to ask him if he was available for a few hours. Knowing he was filming close, Taron asked his friend to help him out. He would always be there for Robyn, in the same way she had been for him but knew he was going to need another person by their side in case he couldn’t do it, in case the pain of what happened to him meant he wasn’t able to go in. But three of them together, supporting each other, meant they had each other to lean on. He had spoken with his mam earlier when Robyn left, apologising for the very early call but he needed some motherly advice and with wise words from his mother, assurance he was doing the right thing, he now stood hugging Robyn tight outside the place he didn’t really think he would be going back to so soon.
“What are you doing here?” Robyn asked him, breaking the hug, but her hands were still around his waist. “You should be back in the hotel room and you…” She turned to Richard. “I am not even too sure where you should be but it’s not here.”
“It’s the right time cariad, for all of us.” Taron reached for her hand and held it tight. “We went through this together a year ago, it is only right we come back here together, to heal, for closure.”
“But it is still so hard for you.” Robyn returned his hard grip.
“Sure, but when is there ever going to be a good time to return to the place where you died for a minute. I have you, I have Richard and we are going to do this together, as we always should have.”
Richard reached for her other hand. “Together we got through it the first time, and together we will walk in, get the turtles and walk back out.”
“I love you both.” Robyn said to them, seeing Taron’s face crinkle in a little grin. “You sure?” She caught his little nod. “Right then. Let’s do this.” She placed herself between them both and took each of their hands in hers, Taron linking her fingers with her immediately.
The sliding doors opened once they stepped forward and it was a hard first footstep to walk into the store for all of them, the blast of air con cool on already goose bumped skin. It looked exactly the same inside as it had done all those months ago, the fridges to the left, the tills to the right, aisles in front of them.
“Do we need a basket?” Richard asked. “How many turtles are we buying?”
“No basket.” Robyn replied, feeling Taron squeezing her hand to the point where his grip was hurting her but she didn’t dare let him go. “We won’t be getting that many.” She felt Richard straying a little to the left, so let his hand go, her free one wrapping around Taron’s. “Ok?”
“Freaking out a little bit.” He admitted, his eyes avoiding the aisle he had been dreading the most.
Robyn let go of his left hand and slipped her right arm around his waist, her left hand reaching for his hand now so she could really hold him tight. “You are safe. I promise. We don’t have to go any further. We can just walk out now.”
Taron shook his head. “No.” He replied. “Let’s follow Richard.”
Taking a left, they caught up with their friend and wandered slowly down the aisle, passing the back office and staff room door, Richard ahead of them in the next aisle but Robyn had stopped, Taron standing beside her.
“Cariad?”
“Do you know I nearly broke my ankle trying to get to you when Richard yelled at me. There was a huge pile of bricks just there and I literally surfed down them to get to you.” She felt the kiss he placed on the side of head. “And I still think Richard is a little scared of me after I ripped your t-shirt open.” She half smiled.
“Wasn’t it white?” He asked.
Robyn lightly laughed at his question. “It actually was.”
“I really need more colour, don’t I?”
Robyn started to walk again her arm still locked around Taron’s waist. “You wear lots of colour and a white t-shirt is kinda your signature look.” She took long footsteps past the place Taron had lay a year ago, half dragging him with her but she felt a pull on her hand and had to stop.
“You know, while the memories are hard, the experience horrible, if it hadn’t of happened, I would never have met you Robyn.” He glanced to the floor and then turned to look her in the eye, brushing hair away from her forehead. “But we made it through and we have so many wonderful memories built since.” He titled her chin so she had to look in his eye. “This is the last piece of the puzzle we both need cariad, to finally breathe again fully and even though I know it will still always sting a little, I am kinda in a very strange and weird way, grateful because I have the most amazing best friend and most perfect girlfriend standing beside me because of it.”
“And I thought you were the one who didn’t want to come here yet you are the one comforting me.”
Taron shook his head a little. “Completely freaking out on the inside.” His eyes drifted to the floor. “But the first Robyn speech I ever got, told me to think positive and that we were there for each other and we are and always will be.” He gently kissed her forehead and pulled her in for a hug. “So I am going to be positive and close the book on the 7/11.”
Robyn lifted her head from Taron’s shoulder and gently ran a finger over the small scar on his head. “Wounds heal, horrible memories fade and I love you. More than I think I could ever imagine.” She gave his lips a light kiss. “Thank you coming here Taron.”
“Wasn’t that hard.” He replied, a half grin on his face.
“Hmm ‘cos your racing heart tells a different story.” Robyn had placed her hand on his chest. “Best sound in the world.”
“Oi you two.” Their heads turned when they heard Richard’s accent echo through the store. “Turtles?”
“Sure.” Taron called back. “On the way.” He kissed Robyn lightly again. “I want at least five packets.”
“Five?” Robyn grinned, starting to walk with him towards their friend who was browsing through the other sweets.
“Taron? Robyn?”
On hearing a new accent and voice, the couple turned completely around to look at the person who spoke, Robyn recognising the man immediately. “Joe!” She stepped away from Taron and greeted him with a hug. “Well I didn’t think I would ever see you again.”
“Perhaps a slim chance, but never here.” He took a step towards Taron and held out his hand for a hand shake. “You probably have no idea who I am.”
Taron looked at Robyn and then it clicked with him. “Joe. The paramedic. Fuck, shit, sorry.” Taron blushed a little and shook the man’s hand. “Sorry, it’s nice to meet you, well again. I don’t particularly remember the first time.”
Joe smiled. “I should think not. How are you both?”
“We are good. Really good.”
“That’s great to hear.”
“Joe, ask me what you actually want to ask.” Robyn grinned, knowing the paramedic had another question on his mind.
“Ok.” He crossed his arms over his chest. “What on earth are you two doing back here?”
Robyn looked to Taron and when they looked back to the paramedic both replied with ‘closure’.
“Joe, you left me talking to myself.” A women came to stand beside him and her face immediately showed the same surprise. “Robyn? Taron!”
“Dr Keane.” Taron recognised her immediately and reached out to shake the woman’s hand. “It’s nice to see you again.”
“You too and looking a hell of a lot better than when I last saw you and it’s Phoebe, not Doctor Hart and Robyn.” She shook her hand too. “I never expected to see you both again and together might I add.”
Robyn took a step back to Taron. “It’s been an eventful year.”
“Really?” Grinned Phoebe.
“Want the short version?”
“Please.”
“Taron found me and has kinda never left.” She heard him laugh at her short but true version of the last year. “We came to Clearwater for a holiday and back to the 7/11 for that last bit of closure we both needed. Richard is here as well.” She looked over her shoulder but Richard was caught up talking to Maggie and hadn’t noticed they were joined by some old familiar faces.
“I never thought the both of you would ever come back here.” Joe said. “I mean, the memories of this place.”
“Not the best.” Robyn agreed.
“Don’t remember much.” Taron added. “Except, I do remember it was because of you Doctor Keane that I was able to leave the hospital and find Robyn.”
“It’s Phoebe and it was what you needed. You needed to find Robyn and look I was right.” She gave a wink. “So you never left huh?”
“Well I did, after a while but Robyn kept following me then.”
“Hey!” Robyn gave him a little dig. “You have not complained once.”
“No I have not.”
Pheobe smiled at their playful interactions. “I am very happy for both of you.”
“I knew there was something there when I first met you too.” Joe added with his own smile. “You healed up ok Taron?” Joe asked.
“Hmm yeah. Took a few months. Hurt like hell in the beginning but I got there.”
“Robyn, you too?” He asked.
“Yeah. Had some very good help along the way.” She reached for Taron’s hand. “I know I never thanked you both for helping me a year ago. Joe, you looked after Taron so well and Phoebe, well he never would have been realised from hospital if it wasn’t for you. I really was not thinking straight when I left the hospital and thankfully Taron came to me. It was definitely what we both needed.”
“Not at all. Just doing our jobs.” Joe replied. “I am glad you managed to keep in contact though.”
“Me too.” Phoebe added with a grin. “Now, we should let you go and leave you enjoy your vacation. It was really great to see you both.”
With another set of hugs, they said goodbye and the couple made their way towards Richard who was still chatting with Maggie.
“Ok you can leave him alone now.” Robyn chuckled letting go of Taron’s hand to walk to her friend, standing between Maggie and Richard.
“We are just chatting.” Maggie grinned.
“Hmm, well how about me and you catch up and we leave the boys to pick the treats.” She took Maggie by the elbow and guided her towards the tills. “Seriously?”
“What!” Maggie exclaimed innocently. “I was just talking to him.” She saw Robyn raise an eyebrow at her. “His accent Robyn and the blue eyes, I mean who wouldn’t…”
“And that is my best friend you are talking about.” Robyn laughed lightly. “I really don’t think of him like that.”
“Well I do!”
Robyn shook her head at her friend. “I have missed you.” She grinned, laughing as they finally got to have a hug after a year.
“Missed you too.” Replied Maggie. “I didn’t think Taron was coming. And Richard, well I didn’t even know he was around.”
“Me neither. Taron planned it all.” They stood to the side together. “He didn’t want to come.” She glanced to her left. “We had an argument over it. We are just fine now. Heated emotions, and wounded memories but while I thought about coming here, he did not.”
“He came here for you Robyn.” Maggie softly said.
“Maybe.”
“He did. He absolutely adores you. Richard too.” She saw the sad look in Robyn’s eyes. “Come on, I know that look. Don’t even think it. You told me on the phone you wanted the closure and now you both have had the chance to come back and face the fear of being here together. Don’t feel guilty because Taron choose to come here too. If Richard and Taron really did not want to come here, they would not have. They are grown men Robyn and they can make up their own mind. They came because they have the same anxiety about this place as you do but it will heal now. Robyn, you are always talking about being positive. It is why you came to Clearwater in the first place all those years ago. A fresh start. A new beginning and when you walk out of those doors, you will be walking with Taron and Richard and you have gained the most amazing friendship and love from it all.”
Robyn threw her arms around her friend and hugged her close to her. “Thank you Maggie.”
“Any time.” She replied hugging her friend back. “Even though I am pissed we can’t have some time together but I know how much you adore him. That means I will be coming to see you now. You had better make space on the couch and move that dinosaur for me.”
“Move cwtch? I don’t think so!” Taron walked over to the two, Richard beside him, some chocolate in their hands. “His place is on the corner of my couch.”
Robyn chuckled at his words and then at Maggie’s face. “It’s a long story but you are welcome to come and stay with me whenever you want and cwtch can come to my bedroom.”
“Or stay with me.”
Robyn rolled her eyes and give Taron a light push. “Maggie, come whenever you would like. So did you two pick the chocolate you wanted?”
Richard smiled, holding up the red packets of turtles. “Yup.”
“Well let me check you out then.” Maggie walked behind the till and scanned through the numerous American sweets the boys had picked up. “Got enough?” She chuckled. “Reminds me of Robyn a year ago when she came here and stocked with a mountain of candy.”
Robyn went to protest but scrunched up her nose. “I actually can’t defend myself over that because it is true.”
“A Taron Egerton movie marathon was on the cards too if I remember correctly.” Maggie chuckled.
Robyn took a step forward to argue with her friend but Taron placed a hand on her shoulder. “You know she had Eddie the Eagle saved in her Netflix when I went to her house?” He grinned, giving Robyn’s shoulder a gentle massage. “She is my number one fan but my sisters had some requests for chocolate.” Taron replied with a smile. “And I know Robyn is partial to the nerds.”
“And there is a general love for turtles all around.” Richard added.
“Wow Robyn, I don’t think I have ever seen you back down from a verbal disagreement before. Bravo Taron!” She smirked. “You have tamed her.”
Taron placed his other hand on Robyn’s shoulder when he felt her move forward some more knowing well she was going to reply. “I wouldn’t say tamed at all. She still has the most perfect fiery side but we need it for New York, right cariad?” He placed a quick kiss on her cheek. “So how much do we owe you?”
Still smiling, Maggie bagged up their purchases and handed the bag to Taron. “Well you have enough to keep you all going for a while.” She looked to Robyn. “I love him.” She simply said. “And he is a perfect match for you.” Maggie’s tone changed, her eyes turning sad. “Next time, I guess we can catch up.”
Taron felt the slump in Robyn’s body under his hands and could see the same sadness in her face that was in Maggie’s eyes. “Why don’t you two catch up later on?” He suggested, knowing how good a friend Maggie was to Robyn when she had lived in Clearwater. “It will give you a chance to chat.”
“Thanks for the offer Taron, but I have this family thing this evening that I can’t get out of. It was just a quick catch up here at the tills but don’t worry, I will be coming to visit cwtch and sit in the corner of Robyn’s couch with her.” She teased, her eyes directly on Taron. “He will be moved to the bedroom.”
Chuckling echoed through the store when there was a loud sigh and scoff from Taron and Richard gave his friend a light punch as his cheeks reddened, his grin growing when Robyn turned around did the same thing to his other arm after she heard his loud sigh. “Whipped.” Richard said through a cough, laughing hard as Taron went for him but Robyn stepped between them, her hands on his chest to keep him a step or two from Richard. “Like I said.” The Scotsman smirked.
“Why you…”
“Maggie and I will catch up another time.” She placed her hand on Taron’s shoulder changing the conversation, turning to Maggie, stopping Taron from going for his friend. “But thank you for offering. I see a very long video call in our future pretty soon.”
“Very long.” Maggie agreed. “Now, take your candy and go enjoy the rest of your holiday together. Even though it was brief, it was lovely to see all of you.” She walked around the tills to hug Robyn once last time. “Cute, gorgeous and my god, you have him wrapped around your finger already.”
The group said one final goodbye and the trio left the store, all of them sighing with relief as they stepped out into the heat of the morning. Robyn didn’t know what to expect when she walked into the 7/11, but she was surprised by the tears that fell from her eyes as she left, the heels of her hands digging into her eyes.
“Cariad…” Taron had an overwhelming sense of emotion as he walked out of the store but Robyn’s reaction had him holding her tight against him, whispering into her hair. “We are all ok. The three of us. We walked in and out as we knew we would.”
Robyn nodded into his chest, her arms wrapped around his back, her face smiling as she felt Richard join their hug so she was squished between them. “Sorry… Being a girl.”
“No, not at all.” Taron soothed. “And I have told you before, you do not have to apologise for being a girl as you call it and that wasn’t just a normal trip to a shop. That was a huge emotional experience for the three of us.”
“Definitely was.” Richard agreed. “Not easy to go back to the place where so much happened, where shit things happened and there are going to be raw emotions again for all of us but all three walked out and walked out with turtles.”
They broke their hug and Robyn thanked Taron for the tissue he fished from her bag for her, wiping her eyes. “It was ok inside just coming out together, it’s a lot. It means a lot.”
“It heals a lot of wounds.” Taron added.
“So many.” Robyn agreed.
“You know what else heals wounds?” He asked, his arm slipping around her shoulders. “Pancakes.” He hoped his words would made her laugh and he smiled when she did. “I think we should go and get some breakfast, together.”
“I am so on board with the plan.” Richard agreed
“You don’t have to drive back?” Robyn asked.
“Not yet. Not until this evening. I am not due back to set until tomorrow afternoon so no rush back. Plus do you think I am going to miss a chance for pancakes?”
“Then I would love to have breakfast together.” She agreed.
With Richard driving, they headed back towards the beach, picking a café right on the sand. They took a table under an umbrella, out of the morning sun, the ocean visible as they sat and read the breakfast menu.
“I can’t believe you drove the whole way up Richard.” Robyn said setting her menu down.
“Of course I did.” He put the juice menu down in front of him. “Going back to the 7/11 was for me too and knowing I could go in with you and Taron, definitely made it easier.” Reaching for Robyn’s hand, he gave it a squeeze. “We spent a long time chatting together as we sat on the floor, getting to know each other and that was what kept me from panicking and you are my friend Robyn, one of my best friends and it wasn’t that long a drive. Plus it’s nice to actually get to see Clearwater.” He turned to look towards the ocean. “It really is a beautiful place.”
“I do love it here.” Robyn followed his eyes to the blue water. “And we have made so many new memories.” She looked to Taron who sat back in his chair, his hair blowing a little in the breeze, his face happy. “So many wonderful memories.” Catching Richard’s eye, she smiled. “I would never have met you and Taron if it wasn’t for that day in the 7/11 so even though the twelve hours were twelve hours of hell, it was worth it to know both of you, to have your friendship and love. It’s a chapter closed from today and I won’t be looking back.”
“Hear hear!” Taron grinned lifting his empty coffee cup into the air. His words had them all laughing, tipping their cups off each other. “So breakfast.” He encouraged, picking up his menu to have a read through the options.
Their choices ordered, the three took the time to sit and talk, to catch up and after breakfast, Robyn suggested they head back to the hotel for a swim and relax before Richard had to drive back to Miami.
“But I am not a guest.” Richard questioned as they sat in the car heading to the hotel. “I don’t think I will be allowed in.”
“Meh.” Robyn replied.
“Meh? Really? Robyn… I don’t even have some swim trunks with me.”
“You can borrow some of Taron’s.”
“Robyn…” He looked at her in the rear-view mirror, seeing her raised eye brow. “A swim would be nice though.”
“A relax on the sunbeds.” Taron added. “Would be even nicer before going back to work.”
“It really would.” Richard glanced to his friend in the front seat. “So where is your hotel?”
After they all changed in the hotel room, Richard in a pair of Taron’s swim shorts, they made their way towards the pool, picking three loungers with an umbrella for some shade.
“This place is beautiful and that pool looks incredibly inviting.” Richard placed his t-shirt on the end of his lounger. “Do you mind if I go right in?”
“Not at all.” Taron grinned. “Go, cool off.” Richard was walking away before Taron had finished speaking and he looked to Robyn who was turned towards the pool. “Go cariad. I know you want to.”
“Taron…” She pulled him into her and smiled into his kiss. “I love you.”
“I love you more. Go. I am going to just lay here. I have had enough excitement for one day and let’s not tempt faith with a swim.” He sighed into another kiss and as Robyn walked away from him, he sat on the lounger and kicked his feet up. He grinned as he watched his two friends swim side by side in the pool. It was the first time since he woke that morning that his heart had finally settled back to its normal beat. He had no idea how the morning was going to go. Petrified sitting in the taxi on the way to the 7/11, he didn’t think he was going to be able to step into the store but comforted as always by Robyn’s touch, she had him wrapped up tight against her and that was what helped him through the place he had feared the most and realised that the horrible experience had found him someone he loved and loved him back. He chuckled as Robyn and Richard raced each other in the water, shaking his head as they started a childish splash game. Closing his eyes and laying his head back, he inhaled deeply, finding a comfortable position on the lounger. There were still three days left in the sun before they got to explore New York and then head back to Aberystwyth to see his family, and while he was so excited to see him family, nerves were settling a little about New York. A busy city with many people, he knew he could blend in but there was always a bigger risk of being seen. Putting it to the back of his mind, he covered his yawn with his hand. Clearwater had been wonderful and he planned to enjoy every last minute of it.
